Deadline Day: 2008 Playoff Pool

The 2008 Inside/Out Playoff Pool is gearing up to be quite the competition. There have been an amazing amount of entries and most of the picks look pretty sizzling… at least on paper. If you haven’t already entered – don’t panic – there’s still time.

The deadline is today, Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 6:00PM EST.

Make your picks wisely (remember – much coveted HI/O bragging rights are at stake):

Try and have a mix of players from both the Eastern and Western Conferences.

Choose players on teams that you think will go deep into the post-season.

Be wary of injury prone superstars.

That being said, don’t be afraid to have a little fun and experiment with an untested player or two.

In case you missed it, here’s how the pool works:

Users choose a maximum of 20 players from any of the 16 playoff teams. Selections must include:

12 forwards

6 defensemen

2 goalies

There will be no replacements for players lost due to injury or elimination.

Trades will not be allowed.

(Note: Mark Streit can be considered as either a forward or a defenseman – it’s your choice)

Point System
Forwards and Defensemen
1 goal = 1 point
1 assist = 1 point

Win = 1 point
Shutout = 2 points (1 point for the W + 1 point for the SO)

When you have finally made your unbeatable picks, click here to send a message. You can only access the link when you’re logged in to the site.

When submitting your fantasy team, please make a numbered list (i.e. 1. 2. 3.). Forwards should occupy positions 1-12; defensemen 13-18; goalies 19-20. In the subject heading of the message, please type your HIO username.

Only registered users can participate. One entry per user.

The deadline for submissions is today, Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 6:00 PM EST.
