Michael Cammalleri has scored the Canadiens’ historic 20,000th goal, on a beautiful feed from Andrei Kostitsyn, at 4:59 of the first period in the Habs’ game in Kanata vs. the Senators. And there is no better Canadien who could have scored it; Cammy truly “gets it” about playing in Montreal, often speaking about the history of the club and his respect for the crest he wears on his sweater.
Roughly 175 Habs Inside/Out users legally guessed Cammalleri as the player who would get the goal, i.e., didn’t enter multiple times and were registered users of our site.
Their HIO handles now go into a hat, of sorts, and I’ll draw one to receive the two tickets for the Gazette loge for the Jan. 3 Bell Centre matinée vs. the Buffalo Sabres. The winner’s name will be posted here Tuesday morning around 10 a.m., at which time he or she should contact me to make arrangements for Sunday. Thanks to all who took part.
