Canadiens power forward Erik Cole finished his first season with the Habs much too early for his liking last April. So the 33-year-old veteran was back in the gym before the month was out. He’s probably regretting that today, still dealing with a nagging lower-body injury – “When I pinpoint it, I’ll tell you,” he told us brightly on Friday – that continues to require treatment.
So if there’s a bright side to the NHL lockout, it’s that Cole has had more time than usual for rehab. And this rehab is nearing its end, Cole told me Friday on his brand new iPhone 5 from his upstate New York cottage.
More Habs hockey in Saturday’s Gazette, the day the Canadiens were supposed to first step on the ice for their 2012-13 training camp.
