There will be one more seat on this afternoon’s charter to Buffalo, the Canadiens having sent centre Kyle Chipchura to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
The team also announced that goalie Jaro Halak has been named winner of the Molson Cup as player of the month for February. More on that below. Halak is absent from practice today for the second day in a row with the flu, but he’s expected to be on the flight to Buffalo or otherwise be there for the game.
Captain Saku Koivu is taking what is assumed to be a therapy day.
Alex Tanguay is in uniform, lined up with Christopher Higgins and Matt D’Agostini, so it seems likely that Tanguay will get the green light from doctors to play tomorrow.
