Canadiens among NHL stars in Montreal-area charity game

Canadiens’ Guillaume Latendresse, Steve Bégin and likely Maxim Lapierre will join a host of other NHL players this Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the Sportsplexe 4 Glaces in Montreal-suburban Pierrefonds for a fund-raising all-star game to benefit Make-A-Wish Canada.

0-poster.jpgEvent organizers Derek McCann and Steven Levac, who stage the annual summertime Stanley Keg tournament at the complex, report these other NHLers are expected to take part in Thursday’s all-star event:

J.P. Dumont, Alex Burrows, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Pascal Dupuis, Jason Pominville, Ian Laperrière, Maxime Talbot and Angelo Esposito, among others.

The all-star game is part of the three-day Stanley Keg tournament, a popular event with players and spectators alike.

Three teams will be formed for the four-on-four event: Team A vs. Team B in the first period, Team A vs. C in the second period and Team B vs. C in the third period.

Tickets, $15 each, are available online here. If available, they’ll also be on sale at the door the night of the game.

Tickets will also provide access to the third annual Stanley Keg tournament at the same site, taking place this Friday through Sunday.

Make-A-Wish Canada works to make dreams come true for gravely and sometimes terminally ill children, giving them hope, happiness and the will to continue their fight for health.
