Mike Cammalleri spoke to National Hockey League vice-president Colin Campbell shortly before noon today and now he has to wait until there is a decision on whether he will be suspended for his two-handed slash on the Islanders’ Nino Niederreiter.
Cammalleri made a beeline to the team bus after the team’s practice in Clermont, Qc., and he talked to Campbell on his cell phone. He emerged later to sign autographs but brushed off requests for an interview by saying: “Tomorrow, boys, tomorrow.”
Injured defencemen Roman Hamrlik and Andrei Markov skated with their teammates for the first time since training camp began and they both said they felt good. Hamrlik could return to action as soon as Thursday when the Canadiens make their regular-season debut in Toronto. Markov will take a little longer to get into the lineup but coach Jacques Martin said his return to a full practice routine is encouraging.

NHL.com says 1 game.
Cassie Campbell just tweeted Cammi got 1 game for slash.
sign guerin to the league minimum for a year sti!
I think 2, but am hoping for 1.
I think one only because after we’ve played the leafs Cammi-less the NHL will no longer care.
He should get a fine and a warning.
He’ll probably get a game. The league woudn’t want to let a slash to the head go without suspencion. Habs should be able to handle the Kadri-less (what a loss) laffs without Cammi.
And if they lose to the Leafs, with or without Camm will you go on one of your typical rants about how the players have no heart, the coaches are the worst in the league, the management is a joke, etc etc???
Magic 8-ball says….”It is certain”.
welcome back Timo.
Hamrlik back for Thursday? I really do think now that he’s faked injury at the last 2 camps to avoid playing now. Convenient how he’s going to be healthy just as camp has wrapped up for 3 of his 4 Habs camps.

Let me guess…
You believe the US government has kept Area 51 secret from the world…You believe the JFK assassination was covered up…Etc Etc…
Talk about conspiracy theories. HaHa.
what’s the big deal. pre-season is not important anyways… that’s what everyone says anyways.
It kinda annoys me that pre-seaosn is for prospects now… Now i’ll have to hear it’s early in the season so don’t worry about the problems they’ll be fixed instead of don’t worry about the problems it’s pre-seaon
But the team’s doctors would check on him, no? I mean sure he could lie to them, but still, that seems far fetched.
Maybe he should play a couple of games in A just to get in the game shape.
Eddie Shore would enter contract negotiations before training camp and ask for twice whatever the highest paid Bruin made. When the Bruins would balk, he would go home to the praries, miss the whole pre-season waiting for the Bruins to pay up. The bruins would act tough, draw a line in the sand, and then get smoked the first few games without Shore in the line up. Then they would beg him to come back for the price he originally asked for, after the fans started getting upset. Shore believed training camp was a waste of time, but then again he was built like a brick $#it house. I agree, at least when it comes to veterans who have already made the team.
Now I’m not saying Roman Hamrlik is Eddie Shore, but really, what is he going to learn in training camp, besides how to get blind sided by some NYI wanna-be goon?
..always with the negative waves, Moriarty, always with the negative waves..
Alright then, a nobody throws a flying shoulder in an effort to take the head off an NHL captain, Naslund, and that captain hurts his knee, the nobody gets what is coming to him.
since we are just asking questions. Did Matt Cooke have it coming when he got pounded by Kane ? My answer , yes.
if moore did that hit on Naslund this year, he’d be gone for 5 games, at least. It was a dirty, head hunting hit, so even though bertuzzi crossed the line by a mile doesn’t mean we have to make Moore out to be more than he was. A borderline player trying to make a name for himself.
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
A nobody throws a flying elbow at the head of an NHL captain, Naslund, he gets what is coming to him.
Moore’s hit on Naslund was straight on, not a blindside, Naslund hurt his knee because he decided that he would try to fall out of the way of the hit instead of bracing himself for it.
There was no elbow on the play, and Naslund hurt his knee not his head.
Thanks, Tony.
3 games confirmed.

edit: fake report , sorry.
I was just going to say that.
Go Habs Go! 2010-2011
Just saying, it’s pretty convenient Hamrlik misses camp and pre-season but is always hale and hearty for the first games of the season every time and it’s happened a few times now.

i’m pretty sure though that he missed the first game of last season.
but came back a little early due to markov’s injury.
but that;s anyones guess

88 is the new 23
Dude area 51 itself isnt kept secret, its what they do in area 51 thats the huge secret. Im sorry, but if you have signs around the perimeter that say “Trespassers will be shot” and not ‘trespassers will be prosecuted” you have something to hide.
No, area 51 is not a high security installation. Try taking a cessna anywhere near it. Then take a 757 and plow it into the pentagon.

Inappropriate? Perhaps you missed the point of the comparison.

Surely we can get a more innapropriate post than that? Have we sunk so low, Napoleon?
“To failing hands we’ve passed the torch.”
Thats all this idiot does, he show’s up once in awhile to tell people how innapropriate they are and defend Carey Price. Useless wind bag is all he is, not to mention creepy as hell, he’s Price’s (#1 fan) he looks like a serial killer.
Wow. FAIL!
Yeeeaah, I didn’t see him resort to name calling. What are you, 6 years old? ”This guy likes OUR team’s goalie, what a WIND BAG”. Don’t cry all over your keyboard there….
STFU idiot.
you should know about failing, did you ever get a high school diploma you moron? get a life.
lookng at it objectively, hockey is hockey. Was it dirty .. hell yea. Was it warranted, it might have been. I know that Neidereiter (sp ?) was a highly touted prospect who was known to play with an edge.
If he was going around cross checking and hacking before that, then he got what was coming. He should have known that occasionally Cammy blows a fuse and when that happens, stand back.
When Kaleta got hit by Ovie lsat season and went head first in the boards, same thing , he had it coming. When MCooke met Evander Kane’s fists, same thing, he had it coming.
Paybacks a b****
So I’m guessing Steve Moore had it coming too?

I agree. Inexpensive insurance. Role model. 21 goals last year. Actually has cojones.
“To failing hands we’ve passed the torch.”
Great story. thanks!
“To failing hands we’ve passed the torch.”
21 goals because he was playing next to Crosby all year (who always ties up 2 bodies in the D zone when he’s playing), hardly the achievement of the season and we already have enough elders on the roster. Team’s got veteran leaders and we need some room for young bodies.

I would say you had a point, however Guerin had the same production with the Islanders the year before. Guerin is a very good choice. I would love to see us sign him. HOWEVER, where would he fit in? We have more than enough to fill our top two lines. I would love to see him in a Habs uniform if we see no production from AK or Pouliot midway into the season. But for now we are full up.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…

He was averaging 17 minutes a game with the NYI he’s two years older now. Age is a harsh mistress in the NHL and frankly considering how easily the Habs played against him for the Pittsburgh series I’m still shocked we have so many people invested in him when he’s showing he can’t really keep up with the grind of the season.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

Even if he’s a 4th line player who occasionally fills in on the PP and top two lines, he could be a good cheap addition. I imagine at this point, he will play for peanuts just to get a job. So who would you rather have, Gurein at 600k or Moen at 1.5 million?
