CALGARY – The lovely plus-3C forecasts we heard earlier in the week have turned south, as forecasts often do in this lovely town.
They’re now saying we’ll be looking at minus-9C for the Heritage Classic, but refresh this page and that might have changed. The game goes on, rain or shine.
The NHL’s headquarters hotel for the game is swarming with league types and others. Outdoor bellmen (“You keep up this good work and I’ll see that you become a bellman,” Peter Sellers told the bellboy in The Return of the Pink Panther) are alternating Canadiens tuques with Flames tuques, and there is enough corporate signage to make a marketer a very happy person.

Habs hockey is “smart” hockey – we play 5 man defence, not just 2 – we move up the ice as a 5 man unit, we back check with 5.

I may be wrong, or maybe my sense of the situation is skewed, because I’m basing my view of Anglophones on maybe a dozen posters on here, with you being one of them, which I’m sure most Anglophones would absolutely hate lol. But really, in a very generalised way, I do feel the Anglos are a lot more biased and a lot more reluctant to view things objectively. And this is coming from an Anglophone.

it is an ongoing process and you use each of the various ways, maybe not every year every process, but almost every year. free agency, trades in summer, trades during the season especi9ally if early in tyhe season you lose a giant part and have salary cap room, and then up to the trade deadline. ga9iney/gauthier have been a failure here at about all this processes. mediocrity and going on 18 years just like when leafs once reached 18 years since their last cup. and they are still counting – open your eyes – we were also laughing at them when the had gone 17 years without winning the cup. look in the mirror. gauthier aint leadi9ng this team to any title. doesnt take a genius to realize this after watching him lose everywhere for years.
