Bergeron returns to practice

Marc-AndrĂ© Bergeron practised with the Canadiens this morning for the first time since he injured his knee last month. He said he felt good and was energized by being back with his teammates but his return to the lineup is on hold. He said he won’t dress for the Saturday game in Toronto.

Michael Cammalleri skated on his own after the regular practice and said he hopes to practice with the team next week.

Tomas Plekanec, who was questionable for the Rangers game Tuesday, took a therapy day but will play in Toronto. Defenceman Paul Mara also took the day off.

  1. Vid says:

Both PK and Carle are right handed Dmen.  Markov is most effective on the left side so in order to set up a one-timer bomb you’d need another lefty Dman with a heavy shot.  Or force Markov to learn how to play on the right point on the pp at least.

I thought Paul Mara was on a day off permanently??

It was good. I got him to sign a couple of books I had from the centennial.  He even stayed late to sign as many as he could.

    Ahh ok, my bad.

On this quiet Habs news day, Habs Addict has a few random musings about Bergeron, Cammalleri and the Brent Seabrook hit.

At his current rate, he’ll likely be a strong candidate for AHL Best Defencemen honours and depending upon the Calder Cup run, maybe even Playoff MVP, who knows?

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

    hahaha jackpot!

  9. Mike T says:

Nah, he was playing for the Rivermen in the AHL (ST Louis’s Farm Team)

He put up excellent numbers in the NCAA last year and the year before though.

Seriously, I think people forget we’re talking about the leafs here haha

  11. Ayan_SB says:

After coming down straight from the NCAA? That’s pretty impressive.

  12. pic1983 says:

and how did the playoffs work out last year for kipper, brodeur and luongo?

When halak plays a really long stretch, he eventually plays a bad game, in the playoffs, that bad game can cost you.  Rest is important, and Carey should get some playing time as well.

  13. Jordio-oh says:

one goal, three assists in six games.

Subban- 50pts in 64 games, +39, 16 goals–9 on the PP…kid is a shoe-in for AHL rookie of the year..

about 1 hour ago via twitter

I keep hearing about rookie honours for PK but how about some AHL honours like best defensemen? Maybe even MVP?

  15. Rugger says:

Bobby Orr won Rookie of the Year in NHL, Rod Carew in the AL, Tom Seaver in the NL.

Love these NCAA signings…Brock Trotter has turned into a stud this season.

Also love the Palushaj he was a linemate of Paciorettys in Michigan.

Look forward to tracking Bishop’s stats moving forward

    Bishop is a 6-foot forward…with good offensive skill…he’s participated in #habs development camp 2009″
