Auld starts, Moen with Gomez-Gionta

AUDIO: Jacques Martin | Josh Gorges, on Donald Fehr | Scott Gordon (begins speaking about Bruno Gervais) | John Tavares | Bruno Gervais

From Pat Hickey in Long Island:

Travis Moen will start tonight’s game against the New York Islanders on a line with Scott Gomez and Brian Gionta.

Goaltender Alex Auld makes his first start of the season for the 6-2-1 Canadiens.

Also making his first start of the season is Islanders defenceman Bruno Gervais. The only twist is that Gervais will be used as a forward on a line with Zenon Konopka and Jon Sim.

Dwayne Roloson gets the start in goal for the Islanders for the second straight game against Montreal, having made 33 saves in the Isles’ 5-3 loss to the Canadiens Wednesday at the Bell Centre.

There was thought that Rick DiPietro would get coach Scott Gordon’s call to play nets. DiPietro had planned to wear pink pads and gloves into action as a tribute to an aunt he lost to breast cancer, tonight being the Islanders Against Cancer night as part of the league-wide, month-long awareness campaign. The Canadiens’ event is tomorrow at home against Florida.

How dumb are you Mr Tony making up another username……..

I’ve read papers from many sources about the LONG TERM affects of fluoride. It has a slow but cummulative affect. Fluoride is a toxic by-product from the manufacturing industry. Don’t need it to pass thru my system to benefit my teeth. But by all means, drink up if it suits you. I’ve known people who get nauseous drinking tap water.

yeah i see that where i am a lot (border town)

but it’s all in the States. You can tell when they advertise Dr. Pepper as a drink at the McD’s since they dont have it here.

Government health officials are acting based on scientific consensus based on a risk/reward ratio. There is literally ZERO negative effect of the flouridation of drinking water, because the amount is so miniscule. Are you against iodized salt too? Try reading some peer reviewed papers and not just some idiot ranting on the internet in comic sans.

  6. Everlasting1 says:

Sorry, don’t need govt health officials imposing medication for the mass population in concern for the public’s dental care. Most of Europe has already put an end to that insane practice.

Flouride in tap water has unquestionably improved public health.

  8. andrewberkshire says:

Luckily I’m not a beer drinker, so the biggest rip at the Bell Centre is irrelevant to me!

  9. Everlasting1 says:

You’re preaching to the choir. Fluoride in tap water is a concern as well.

There’s a reason why PG, BGL and I are vegitarian.

  11. andrewberkshire says:

In fairness, the dose makes the poison, so how much TBHQ is actually in a single nugget? I’m guessing it’s measured in µg. You most likely would have to eat thousands of nuggets to get anywhere near a gram of TBHQ, so it’s toxicity at that level is irrelevant. I don’t think many people would regularly point out that drinking too much water in a day is lethal, because the amount is excessive. Same thing. Everything on this planet is poisonous in the right dose.

When he stops running shut outs (he’s at 2 in a row) we can have a 24 moratorium.

    That’s reasonable, right?

  13. LA Loyalist says:

Halpern is older and has been badly injured – no complaints he’s doing great. But Moore would have been a safer bet.

And what message does it send to young 3/4 line guys that levitate and kill themselves in the playoffs and get

“yeah, that goal to knock Washington out of the playoffs?  That was great. Knocked the grin off Ovechkin’s face, bien sur… Here’s a couple of KFC coupons. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”

    Think about it.

geez, you must think Chiarelli got fleeced in the Kessel trade too.

You’re also forgetting PG’s trading of Sergei to Nashville.

  15. GrimJim says:

And I would suggest eating and drinking yourself full prior to going to the Bell Centre too…

Some highlights : mcnuggets contain 38! ingredients, and are 56% corn.  13 ingredients are corn-based.  Also, dimethylpolysiloxene, a suspected carcinogen and established mutagen.  Most alarmingly though is the petroleum-derived tertiary butylhydroquinone, which is loosely related to butane (lighter fluid) – one gram of TBHQ can causes vomiting and delirium, and five grams of TBHQ can kill you. High doses can be a precursor to stomach tumours.

Yeah, fountain pop is a huge one. Sad thing is Mcdicks is one of the cheaper ones for drinks, go to the theatre and you’re paying 6 bucks for that same 6 cent pop!

  19. LA Loyalist says:

Didn’t Gomez come off the cap when he retired?

He did retire, didn’t he? I haven’t noticed him on the ice.
