The participation tonight of Hamilton call-up P.K. Subban depends on the game-time health of ailing defenceman Jaroslav Spacek, according to Canadiens head coach Jacques Martin. But reports early this afternoon had Subban in the lineup with Sergei Kostitsyn and Mathieu Darche headed for the pressbox.
The Habs this morning called up Subban from the Bulldogs for tonight’s Game 6 vs. the Capitals. Subban participated in the morning skate but was not made available to the media afterwards.
Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau said he knew very little about Subban, but would try to find out a little this afternoon. He added that he didn’t know whether the defenceman was playing, and that even if he did, it’s unlikely his team would dramatically change their strategy.
Boudreau said if Subban did play, he expected he’d bring great energy and enthusiasm to the Canadiens lineup.
