Slowed down? More like JM changed things up, instead of dumping the puck and being threatening at the blue line which they started at the beginning of the game, he dropped to his usual defensive ‘hold on to the lead’ game style and it backfired. He tried to fancy it up for the fans with guys going in alone and it backfired on him. Clearly he was oblivious to the fact Price was not at his best. Aggravating game to watch. Montreal was fantastic in the first period as well as part of the second period. If they could play like that all the time they’d own anyone.
Gionta sounds good – confident, clear about what they need to do. Price, not so much. He seems subdued and a bit discouraged.
