• AUDIO: Jacques Martin | Scott Gomez | Tom Pyatt | Roman Hamrlik | Ryan O’Byrne
That’s the philosophy guiding the Canadiens as they prepare for a visit from the New York Islanders Wednesday night. Coach Jacques Martin will stick with the same lineup which has won the past two games. That means Carey Price makes his ninth consecutive start in goal and forward Dustin Boyd and defenceman Ryan O’Byrne will be healthy scratches.
The Canadiens practiced at the Bell Centre today after gathering for a team picture. It was a light-hearted workout which wrapped up with a shootout competition.
Jacques Martin’s press conference is worth a listen. The coach has a dry sense of humour and was in good form today.

Idiot may be a bit harsh but my point is that he’s out of place there. He could’ve gotten that much money elsewhere. Anyways, money isn’t everything. He could’ve joined a young up and coming high fire-power team like LA. He didn’t make the Devils any stronger and the trade more than likely weakened them. That in itself should’ve been an indicator of how bad a move it was for NJ to bring Kovy/YashinII into the fold. But Lou had to save face and move heaven and earth to sign last year’s free agency gem that wasn’t named LeBron. Nice to sit back and watch teams like Ottawa and New Jersey implode while the Habs are building steady as she goes. Lou reacted in a panicked knee-jerk way. The Devils are paying for it. The only hope for them is to tank a few years and build around Kovy. LMFAO!
Zzzzzz…
Maybe it’s time to give Lapps an audition on the G&G line…since the play offs last year Lapps has shown good drive and enthusiasm and he will go to the front of the net and get dirty to make the plays.
I think Laps certainly has more offensive up side than Moen, Darche on that line…
While this is true that NJ isn’t exactly his style of hockey. He’s also a couple million dollars a year richer than all of us for quite awhile…
I don’t know if idiot is the correct term…
Epic Fail Scottie!!!!
The Play-off Race begins in OCTOBER!!!!
Maybe Pierre Gauthier should look into the Ottawa situatiion and try to get Spezza for him?

if you want any shred of credibility, could i suggest writting a new post instead of editing your old one when no one agrees with what was said?
pretty weak imo.
strong contender for post of the day.
Remember when he broke his hand when he was playing for Montreal? That was a bummer.
Scott Gomez to Montreal Media “You’re a pain in the neck, but you’re our pain in the neck.”
That’s right: let’s remove Gomez. After all, our present happy locker room and successful season is unimportant. Rather than having a strong line that the other team has to spend resources focusing on, we should put double-pressure on the Pleks line so that they can really show how good they can be. And lets endanger a speedy & threatening line that is stays true defensively thus contributing to our wins. And our league-leading PK is irrelevant — lets take a main weapon from that.
Every effort should be made to give you and other monomaniacs a full view of things.
Moron, 2nd time in 2 years he’s taken an unnecessary fight and broken his hand doing it. Glad we let him walk and I can’t believe we had people clamoring for him to return.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.

hahaha that is funnny!
Hahaha! What a maroon! Every time he fights his glass hand breaks… This will show all those potential NHL suitors he can play. What a completely idiotic thing to do
that is one of the worst comparisons i have ever seen on this site.
Gomez has 1 goal and 2 assists.
Kovalchuck is an idiot for signing with the Devils. That’s like asking a Playboy Bunny to work in a coal mine.
i’m more a believer in the “leave this team as it is without making any rash moves while waiting until the off season when the salary cap issues for next year become more clearb because there is no addition that will make this team a cup contender at the present moment.”
keep our core together
keep playing well defensively
hope for the best and go as far as our talent level allows us to.
winners are built through drafting and development, not signing players off waivers that no one wants making too much money:)
For those posters suggesting last week that we pick up Souray, here’s another example of those not learning from history being doomed to repeat it.

Here’s what Scottie Upshall tweeted Monday morning for those of you who missed it:
“Little pregame skate in Montreal. Love it here. Especially [Love] winning here in front of 20,000 fans. “Ole, ole ole ole..” (quiet please)”.
Once again, your loud-mouth man Brian Burke has done nothing to improve his club….
After a lucky start, the leaves are falling outside, and the Leafs are falling in the standings.
Enjoy another non-playoff year….
Bye.

I got AK at under 64.5 pts, with Triple X and Tom Nickle.
Well Ilya scores goals, so i dont see this analogy working.
Once again our $8M man (Gomer) had no goals, no assists and no shots on goal. Every effort should be made to remove him from this team (he is our Ilya).
Looking ahead, November will be the challenge Month!
Lets take these Islanders down!!!!!
They Call Me Shane
The have to do something about Gomez… Light a fire under the guy or something…
Traditionally he’s always been a slow starter. All will work out in the end.

Try this …..
Gionta Eller Pouliot
Moen Gomez Laps
Well, they finally got a PP goal. Cammi reminded me of Kovy a couple of years ago when he used to park on the half boards, then cruise towards the middle and rifle it top shelf. I tihnk that has been part of the problem this year on the PP. It’s always the same thing, move it around the outside for a point shot from the middle of the ice. If Cammi starts sneaking in for a shot he’ll score once in a while or get a rebound to someone, and it also forces the oppenents box to collapse a bit on Cammi which will free up the point guys.

Put him on waivers!
Are you going to bark all day little doggy?
Or are you going to bite?

Yessss, TSN has the game tomorrow night on their main feed! No internet streaming for me!

The Habs are making me slightly less bi-polar.
They’re showing it cause one of the golden boys from TO (Tavares) is playing.
I don´t understand why Boyd has to sit for the third game in a row. After his stupid penalty yesterday it should be Moen.
This is true. In 2005-06 when he finished with a career high 84 points, he only had 8 points in his first 15 games and was a -8.
