Audio: Habs set off on four-game road trip

The Canadiens practised today at Verdun then were to fly later in the day to Minnesota where Thursday they will take on captain Mikko Koivu’s Minnesota Wild.

Then it’s on to Long Island for Saturday’s game vs. Mark Streit’s New York Islanders, home to practice for a few days then back on the road for Nov. 7 and 8 games in Columbus and Toronto.

Here’s some audio following today’s practice:

Defenceman Roman Hamrlik on taking a hard, bruising shot in the leg, and his hope to play tomorrow;
• Head coach Guy Carbonneau;
• Captain Saku Koivu on impressive linemate Alex Tanguay;
Koivu with a little more on Tanguay and his own fitness eight games into the season after his training camp that wasn’t;
• And finally, Koivu on his brother with the Wild.

  1. The Teacher says:

    Thank you for the update Mr. Stubbs.

    A few complained that there were no updates a week ago, but not too many thank you when there are some.

  2. Dave Stubbs says:

    There’s the not small matter of researching, interviewing and writing major features for the paper as well. Sometimes, just not enough hours in the day. Boone’s the anchor of this place (and I don’t mean by that that he drags us down!).

  3. Willy the bum says:

    Mr. Stubbs, was it you who wrote the Tanguay-Carrier relation article in the latest HI/O Edition in yesterday’s Gazette?

    I think it’s a wonderful piece… full of nostaglia! I wonder how you ever thought of it in the first place…or was it meant to be beforehand; the meeting of those two special individual?

    Either way, great piece!
