Former Canadiens goaltender David Aebischer has been given a new lease on life in the NHL after a sub-par season with the Habs.
The Swiss netminder signed a one-year deal with the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday. The contract will pay him $600,000, a steep drop drom the $1.9 million he made in Montreal last season.
On the home front, the Canadiens announced the signing of Jonathan Ferland to a one-year, $495,000 deal. An assistant captain on the Hamilton Bulldogs, Ferland scored 23 goals and 14 assistsn in 78 games on the farm last season, his fourth with the Bulldogs.
