The Hurricanes – 6-0 abject losers in Quebec City Friday night – beat Carey Price
With his fourth goal of the preseason, rookie Michaël Bournival spared the Canadiens the ignominy of a home-ice shutout.
But it was too little and much too late.
Carolina got goals from Drayson Bowman, Jeff Skinner and Nathan Gerbe to lead 3-0 after 40 minutes.
Goaltender Anton Khudobin made 40 saves – including 16 in the third period.
Carey Price faced 28 Carolina shots, 17 of which came in the middle period.
