The Toronto Sun reports that the Maple Leafs will wear their white road jerseys tonight when the Canadiens visit the ACC. That means the Habs will be in their traditional blue, blanc, rouge home uniforms.

According to the paper, the move could have something to do with the fact that the Maple Leafs have a poor record at home when wearing their blue jerseys (3-4-3), while they do much better on the road when wearing white (3-3-1).

The paper also produced a scray stat for Habs fans: Since the lockout, the Maple leafs are 10-4-4 against the Canadiens.

I’ve been enjoying, from afar, the views and news posted here the past couple of weeks by colleagues Mike Boone and Kevin Mio. Yes, it’s 3:45 a.m. ET as this is posted, and I’m hungry for dinner, not breakfast, but that’s what I get for having spent two weeks in Japan covering the world track and field championships…

If you haven’t already, visit Mike and Kevin’s posts of the past day on the Canadiens’ unveiling of the club’s new uniforms, a look just slightly tweaked from the old. And below, glommed from the Habs media guide of last season, is a look at the history of the uniform, twinned with Mike’s look back.

**Updated with new photos**

The Montreal Canadiens unveiled their new Rbk EDGE jerseys this morning during their annual golf tournament at the Club de golf Laval-sur-le-lac.

The new jerseys are very similar to the ones worn last season, except for a new look to the collar, a sleeker cut and the new Reebok technology.

To see the jerseys, visit the Canadiens website here. Scroll down the website and click on a link to view a photo gallery of the new uniforms.

Continue reading to view more photos of the new threads worn by some of the players at today’s golf tournament taken by The Gazette’s Phil Carpenter.

Here’s a portion of the team’s official release regarding the uniforms.

The new Canadiens uniform, like all 29 other NHL teams, features the Rbk EDGE Uniform System technology. The team will don its red home jersey for the first time on September 17 when the Pittsburgh Penguins will visit the Bell Centre while the white away jersey will first be worn on September 19, in Moncton, NB,when the New York Islanders will host the Canadiens.

One of the most recognizable jerseys in professional sports, the Canadiens jersey retains its traditional identity. The color scheme and overall appearance remain unchanged. The most significant change is located in the collar area, where one of the two blue lines has been removed, while an NHL logo was added.
