You are right. I don’t hate Gomez, but Koivu was such a classy individual and an excellent representative of this team as well as a fairly productive player during his tenure here. I wish #11 had his name above it and not Gomez’s.
Just to quickly compare the stats/salaries of the Gomez/Koivu switch for a moment. In one and a quarter seasons, Koivu has produced significantly more goals, more points, and made much less…..

Hey Boone, check this out.
It’s from Yahoo’s NHL blog, Puck Daddy, regarding your comments from
the previous “About Last Night”. You may have created another mini
controversy. Hey, at least you didn’t call Sabres fans Nazis (I keed I
keed).
Tomas Plekanec, Montrea’s top center, is apparently the
best two-way pivot in the league. This link actually says that. I can’t
figure out why. Now, okay, granted, I think Pavel Datsyuk is slight
overrated, insofar as he’s not as good in both ends of the rink as Sid
Crosby is overall. But like, Henrik Sedin? Maybe Mike Richards or Ryan
Getzlaf? Don’t you think there are a couple guys in front of Plekanec
in line for the “Best Two-Way Center” title?
Lambert is an idiot, always has been. Since hen does Getzlaf play the PK? He plays an average of 4 seconds per game. That’s not a high end defensive talent.
The announcers said they went right for each other, but from the replay, I think Avery went right for Tootoo hoping to surprise him. Tootoo looked like he was going into the play rather than straight for Avery, but he wisely kept an eye on the little (rhymes with trick), saw him coming, and dropped his gloves on time.
Pity the linesmen stepped in as quickly as they did.
Boone, you really need to speak to your Shop Steward. I know you’re frantically pounding the keyboard trying to beat those tight deadlines, but seriously… The Gazette management should have the decency to allow you to take bathroom breaks for Pete’s sake.

What are they trying to tell me? It all depends!
I have no hate for Gomer either….kinda like the guy. His salary is brutal, and he’s never really produced numbers that justify that kind of cash.

Huggies – enjoy the ride? Rather perplexing tag-line if you’re wearing a full one IMO. And at my age, I can only choose a winner every other day.
Boone Rocks!
Chalk it up to coincidence until you see the Viagra ads, Boone!
you would make a good poster boy for them!!

It looks like more of a commentary on your readers than yourself, Mike!
As the old saying goes, if the diaper fits……:-)
Took a look around… from where I’ve looked Markov doesn’t appear to be on IR.
Assuming he does go, MTL gets what half of the salary cap back?
Boone made a comment the other day about how if he misses the season, MTL will get all of it back.
I’m confused, does IR and missing the season result in differences on what the team gets back cap wise?
The amount of salary cap relief for a player on the IR is pro-rated based on the number of games he is out.

doens’t sound like that guy knows what 2-way center means

Thanks Bryan!
