The significance of letting Boucher go is over-looked IMO and too often slagged rather than appreciated. I’ve also noticed that the integration of call-ups has been much more fluid because of the coaching change in Hamilton. Long term it appears at any rate that the Habs are building a complete development system, and one that is on the same page from the top to the bottom.
I wouldn’t mind Kaberle, but I am going to be pissed if they give up prospects. Especially since he’s unrestricted next year. I have news for you Gauthier – this isn’t the year. Not with this lack of scoring and major injuries on defense. Kaberle won’t automatically solve this. Don’t mortgage the future.
I’m always in favour of theft in a trade but I don’t think Burke is going to be the Best Buy security guard that believes we’re taking a 65″ LCD for cleaning.
If you had a decent team (ie one that doesn’t sit there and allow 60 shots on their tender ala the habs) would you pay 5mil for Halak or .5-1 for Emery? A smart GM goes with Emery and spends the rest on forwards/defense.
However if the goalie MUST stand on his head then yeah – Halak all the way.
But let’s face it – other teams aren’t like the habs and understand the goalie can’t play the whole game himself. Ask philly how much their AHL goalie is hurting them.
We’ve seen so many hits like the Paille one over the past few years, some of which have been punished and some of which have been ignored by the league’s so-called disciplinary committee. The fact is that this is exactly the type of hit the NHL wants to get out of the game: a guy leaving his feet and targeting the head of a player who can’t clearly see where the hit is coming from. I think it’s greta that the commentators agreed that was the case and I think it’s even better news that a guy like Ference had the courage to stand up and tell it like it was. I’m sure Paille’s seen the hit on replay himself, so for him to come out saying he made shoulder-to-shoulder contact is absurd. And for Shawn Thornton to have come rushing in after the incident trying to start a fight with a Dallas Star’s player who was just standing there was just as ludicrous. Players like Paille and Thornton haven’t learned anything in the least about what it is to have respect for an opponent. CFL and NFL football players play the game hard, but if a guy goes down, you don’t see everyone fighting about it; rather, you see guys huddling and praying together for his safety. Now I’m not saying we need to see that in the NHL, but at the end of the day, NFL players seem to show that they respect their opponents and the physical suffering they all go through to play the game at such a high level.
When Crosby came out against Steckel, I was among those who questioned why he had such a double standard, and frankly, although I agree with Sid, his words wer empty knowing that he had said little when it was his own teammate who had bene the one targeting heads. Obviously, Cooke still hasn’t learned because he was just suspended again for a dirty hit; the league hasn’t learned because 4 games isn’t a serious enough punishment for a repeat offender; and Crosby hasn’t learned because where is he now to comment on his teammate running someone into the boards from behind? I realize Ference’s comments go against the unwritten code of showing a united team front, and maybe he should have waited until after the suspension was decided upon so as not to make things worse for his teammate, but the fact remains that players have not altered the way they play after seeing concussed players speaking out nor after seeing 3-4 game suspensions for such hits. Ference’s comments have at least sparked some discussion and maybe this will be an extra step that makes Paille think twice the next time he tries to line someone up.
As for Cherry, for a guy who so vehemently opposes touch-up icing and supports improvements in equipment, his comments are once again misplaced and potentially harmful. Cherry should be encouraging players to take a stand against these types of hits and as Ference said, show that their position is not dependent on whether the culprit is one’s teammate or not. If that’s what it takes, then safety should come before everything else and players making those hits should realize a guy like Ference is being a better teammate by trying to protect all players in the league. Paille, on the other hand, made a dangerous hit that, having watched two of his teammates suffer through major concussion issues of late, he should have known was illegal. And that to me, means he made a selfish play, following through on his hit despite the risk of suspension. Any way you look at it, that makes Ference the better teammate than Paille or Thornton, and it certainly shows some responsibility to the players, the game, and kids who are playing the sport and idolizing the guys in the NHL. Cherry on the other hand has shown he has no place being on the air.
You made several good points. You correctly criticized the double standard that can exist between players, teammates and others, you pointed out how blatantly incoherent the NHL is in its punishments, and you said that Don Cherry shouldn’t be on the air.
On Crosby, he said this the day after the Cooke on Savard hit: “At some point there’s got to be a clear indication from the league because we’ve seen this so many times now,” Penguins captain Sidney Crosby said. “You don’t like to see anyone, their own teammate or an opposing player, lay on the ice like that. That was scary.”
Was it an epic diatribe about it? No but too many people say that he was silent until it was him. It’s just not true.
As to where he is now, he’s in Nova Scotia convalescing from his own concussion and isn’t doing any interviews. He can’t do much of anything because the symptoms are still so strong. He can’t work out. He can’t fly. He can’t get on the ice. Chances are he probably can’t do much in the way of speaking to reporters to dish the latest opinions on his scumbag of a teammate.
Mr Boone, Im not disagreeing about the Rivalry but the islander/Ranger rivalry is a pretty damn good one IMO, Having grown up in NY i know it first hand and 2, I believe Ryder lit us up in the Playoffs one year, maybe your not counting playoffs.
On whether or not Gauthier should stand pat, consider this. Will our team be better next year than it is this year? Are we a team on our way up or down?
PK, Pacioretty, Plek, Price, Weber (if we don’t trade him) and Pouliot are all players who are expected to continue to improve. Our forwards are largely set for next season it’s our defence that’s going to have a huge turnover. Personally, I’d be open to trading Weber for a more experienced D, especially with the hope we could sign htem next year.
I listen to him muck it up with Melnyk every day after work on the drive home…
It really grinds my gears the way he bashes the Halak deal… He keeps saying we should have held on to him, and traded him at this upcoming deadline… “maximize assets” as he puts it…
Several factors go into how off, and, annoying his analysis is:
1. Take a look at Halak’s numbers right now. Take a look at the fact that there are talented goalies (see Emery, Ray) out there willing to work for peanuts. Who is he to say we would get more? I’m pretty sure “sell high” is the way to go in cases like these. What would we get now for Halak and his “gives up 4 goals a game” trend of late? (yes, i realize St louis has injuries, but no Markov and no Gorges yet Carey still has stellar numbers)
2. Is there nothing to be said for Carey Price? And how well he’s played? It is supremely clear that Price is thriving in the role of #1, that platooning with another talented youngster was NOT the way to go. Now that you see the results, Halak “had” to go. Keeping around on the roster until now clearly would have hindered Price. He learned his lesson last year, watching the ECF run.
3. His claims to know “two GM’s who needed goalies who never got a call from PG before the Eller deal”. First of all, I question Mcguires ability to discern who needs goalies. He was talking about how bad of a fit Price would be upon getting drafted, and cited how great Huet and Theodore were. Fail! Secondly, just because they got no call before the Eller deal, does not mean the teams had not previously spoken. If, in talks, Gauthier gets offered a 4th round pick and nothing more for Halak… Why would he go pull his hair out to negotiate when the opponents undervalue the asset? I agree it can come off lazy but everyone supposedly “knew” Halak was on the block. You dont think a team that valued his worth at, say, two first rounders, wouldn’t have taken the time to call PG?!?
Be nice to see the power play get back on track tonight. If they can get Thomas flopping around early and get in his grill, we might get him off his game.
I still think I would rather see defensive help at the deadline. Sure, I would take a big winger, but I think if this team is going to have play-off success, we are going to need a step up from some of the wingers. We can count on Cammy, Gomer (maybe), pleks and Gionta. We just need AK, Eller, MaxPac and/or pouliot to step up.
It takes a long time for players to get used to JM’s style so rentals just don’t make sense. If at all, then not deadline rentals (see Moore and Wiz), so they have time to fit in a bit better.
A similar case is what happened last year in NJ with Kovalchuk. The trade hurt them in the short run, not in total talent, but in how the team played as a whole. I think in the end they might be better for it if Lou can reconfigure around or incorporate Kovalchik (though people have been ragging on NJ all year as doomed for a decade – not so).
No deadline trade makes sense unless what’s coming back is staying and will be a benefit in the long run.
I stayed home from bowling to watch my Habs tonight. When I have to go out I always PVR the game. But most times when I PVR it the Habs usally lose & I don’t want the Habs to lose tonight.
I’m for standing pat unless we can get this season help for draft picks or AHL players that wouldn’t in all probability not become a Hab (i.e. Carle). Nor likely to happen, so stay the course (Damn I hated when Bush said that)
Don´t agree about Weber. He is a weakness on defence and always will be -a below average nhl defenceman. He´s a good fill-in which is what he´s doing now, but he won´t crack the top 6 next year. Heck he won´t crack it this year if they go out and get another defenceman.
I watched a PeeWee hockey game the other night before my rec league. The kids can barely make a tape to tape pass, but they are all going for the big hit. I think the culture has to change. I know that hockey is a tough game, but that boat only floats so far when there are kids losing their ability to function in normal life because they kept their head down. It’s their fault though, you know, playing a man’s game!! It is getting too serious to brush under the rug any more. What happened to hitting a guy to remove him from the puck?
You are right about the relevancy in the standings but trust me, it still matters to the fans. I live with it everyday. I don’t know why Mike Millbury still has a job in Hockey, hes like a shock jock, he only there because he’s got a big mouth
Habs better go on the attack quick, hard and fast or prepare to weather the initial storm. They’ve been getting burned for 1 or 2 goal with their tepid starts lately.
Except Don Cherry is no advocate of PeeWee hitting — and said not three weeks ago that kids through Jnr should ignore their coach if he tells them to block shots & they aren’t comfortable doing it.
Biggest game of the season. No question, no argument.
Doesn’t matter who is and isn’t playing for either team tonight. This is a game that both teams NEED to have. Whoever’s in better be up to playing their best game of the season. There isn’t a better night for it tonight. This is the game that you earn your paycheque in.
Four hours to game time and I’ve already been waiting two days too long for this. Bring it on already. I already need a pacemaker and guys are just tucking in for their catnap. C’mon now, this ain’t right.
Go big or go home. This is where we find out just what kind of a team this team is. If there’s a defining point to this season, this is it.
Wear’em down and frustrate them, then let them beat themselves like they usually do against the Habs. But we gotta come out to play to make that happen!
“When I was a baby I wish my first word had been “QUOTE”, then right before I die I could say “UNQUOTE” – Stephen Wright
The grim reality is, and I say this as a big goalie fan, only an idiot would pay top dollar for a goaltender in todays NHL. There are so many young rookies that are NHL ready, older “still got it” goalies like Roloson/Sanford/Raycroft and guys Emery/Nabokov that are wildcards. All willing to work for next to nothing.
Yeah…Habs need to get bigger and tougher…but NOT NEIL. He is useless. He is a complete goon, and cant even win fights. Lucic had Neils face leaking blood all over the place.
no he cant do a lot or it all but if he was on the ice when all that went down do you think he would have stood there or do you think he would have fed lulich his teeth.. maybe not win but at least try.. and thus letting teams know you cant just push the team around.. and that in it self is somthing this team does not have AT ALL, so to me that aspect of the game that we lack would be more than enough.. oh did i mention he can score som ugly goals from time to time…
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
PG PLEASE GET CHRIS NEIL.. OR SOMEONE WHO TOUGH, because that display in front of the net was pathetic.. no one should be able to lay a finger on your goalie and whats even worse… no one did anything beside price PK was the only one who seemed to care… Get some balls..
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
Dear Pierre Gauthier, does this game remind you of the series against Philly last season? I know we’re looking for a d-man, but mother of God, the Habs need to get bigger, and tougher.
“Price ready to go: It looked like he was taking off his mask to get into it with Lucic. VERY bad idea. If he hurt his hand …”
Well he didn’t do the usual glove shake, or even display any body lauguage that indicated he wanted to fight, my best guess is he lifted his mask so he could say something to him. The bottom part of the mask covers your mouth pretty well, was probably preventing some good trash talk.
listen boys, we are in a division where we are going to face either philly or boston or both in the playoffs, and we are like it or not going to need someone to deal physically with these teams who have the same play book on us.
no way that lucic hits price if carkner is in the line up.
Don’t forget, that fraud in net in the Bruins end will give up about three stinkers tonight and they’ll lose.
The game will be tied in the first five minutes.
Mike Cammalleri in about the same amount of games as he played last year had 26G (Don’t forget his drought when he came back with no goals before the playoffs), this year he’s got half that. Where’s the moaning about him? How many times has he failed to bury his one-timers that terrorized goalies last year? He’s getting 6 million this year for 13 goals in 44 games?
I like the guy but this team would be on top in the NE if he’d put 8-10 more goals away before he’d been sidelined.
Pricey is the only one showing any balls at all it would seem. I hope we don’t go for Kaberle. I don’t want us helping the laffs. If they were a drowning man I’d throw them an anchor.
if montreal need to beef up we need more than just one guy and our whole team has stop being pansies and knock the fu*k outta some one and not worry about the consequences. most players in philly can be dirty and back it up, same goes for bruins and anaheim. what is one guy going to do. remeber moen when he was with anaheim, he used to beat people up because he had other guys who backed him up.
Moen gets the misconduct? Well done NHL, don’t give the misconduct to the guy who was attacking a goalie in his own crease AFTER THE WHISTLE or anything.
“Price ready to go:It looked like he was taking off his mask to get into it with Lucic. VERY bad idea. If he hurt his hand …”
According to some of the clowns here Carey has no glove hand anyways so what’s the worry? LOL
Seriously, though, it takes an awful lot to get Carey that riled up. That goof from St. Louis did it last year but other than that when do you actually see him read to get after someone like that?
Officials are giving Moen a misconduct, Price a minor and Lucic with the double minor. I mean sure, Lucic was the one attacking Carey in his own crease after the whistle but whatever, do your job like a drunk, nobody in the NHL seems to care.
I would LOVE to see Price get pissed and go all rodeo on Lucic or pound Timmy the Tuna into retirement. This game is reminding me why I hate the Bruins!
I Agree, anyone with some kind of toughness.. i mean as bad as those two golas were i am more grossed out by the lack push back when they atart taking liberties with your goalie.. you know the only reason this game isn not 5–0…
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
Is anyone on the Habs not sucking? Hard to watch them getting beaten up and run out of the rink. Even harder to watch the “defensive coverage” … what the hell???
RE; Wayne and Jdub. Yeah, we need some BEEF/ENFORCER mentality. I am so tired of seeing bigger teams rough us up. I’m not talking about goons. There are big, tough forwards out there and we NEED some. I need another drink.
Well this game brought out the old-time hatred I’ve always had for the Booins that has been simmering for the last little while because of my all-out hatred for the laffs, but tonight I’ll have to say that the Booin hatred has trumphed it. The most disappointing thing was our response to the goonism going on all night long and the complete capitulation from some guys ( I won’t name them) on the team. I’m really pissed and I hope the Habs are thoroughly pissed at themselves for the way they caved in tonight. WE NEED TO GET TOUGHER NOW!!!
What are you clowns whining about? Did Price, Pouillot and Moen not kick ass in there fights? Spacek and Pyatt got there asses kicked. That’s 3-2. Baldy put his goons on and JM couldn’t respond because he doesn’t have last change. Wild game. Rematch in 19 days. Lets wait and simmer for that night.
McGuire might be the dumbest guy on TV. Claude Julien not happy with the late period fights? Right, right, good point, genius. That’s why he had those gorillas on the ice at the end of the game, obviously.
Moen did okay. Pouliot TKO was awesome. Goalie fight was funny…. but Spacek Hammer and Pyatt basically got jumped by GOONS. Thats what im pissed about.
The Price Thomas fight might be the turning point in Tim’s season. A one punch takedown by Price and a no mas from Thomas to end it. Remember how it affected Komi.
Funny, I still don’t want a goon on the squad. We beat teams like the Bruins with speed and skill before, and we’ll do it again. We just can’t play their game…their lineup is full of neanderthals, why would we want to?
Pyatt’s done after this season, White will come in. Possibly Andrew Conboy may get a look. I think the Habs have solutions in their system to deal with this but this is just highlighting what we knew already, the Habs don’t have the muscle amongst their skaters to handle the playoff grind to the Cup. You can see Pacioretty wasn’t intimidated, slashed, he scores a goal, attempted head hit, scores another. That was a good indication but we need another Pacioretty in the Top 6 and we need a guy who’s got a grin on his face when he sees an opportunity to hit.
Give it a rest children. Bunch of whiney cry babies on this site tonight. This is the type of game you’ll see only a few times in a season and never in the playoffs. It was fun, a throwback and any one of you would have paid top dollar to be at a game like this. I loved it even though we lost. The Habs sucked and still scored 6 goals, some even on the weak-ass PP we’ve all complained about, Pouliot decked a key Bruin with one hell of a punch, PK never backed down and nor did Moen, Pyatt, Hamerlik and Spacek among others.
So they got whopped. Cry me a river. Islanders tomorrow, that’s all that matters.
If it’s any consolation, Price was better than Thomas who had a healthy D. 14 goals from 2 of the best goalies in the league. And some dummies blame Price.
I hope the Habs never play like a bunch of don cherrys on crack!!!
bRuins are a JOKE….and Iam not a fairweather fan Timo….
Tonight i saw the HABS stand up to the goon show. Every goal was answered untill it got to a point where it wasnt a hockey game any more. These games come every now and then , and iam almost pretty sure it will happen again
Whats the answer?….get a full line of tough guys / fighters. Sign ‘em , 4th line Hanson sh*t show…then they fight…break there sh*t….and play only half the time. Awesome !
Paybacks a beatch….and i have all the patience in the world. They did NOt run away with this game…and they wont get away with that again…..not at the BELL !!
I agree with everyone that the team is playing awful defensively tonight…but I do not see how they are being pushed around…when you say “pushed around”, you imply no fight back nor response…I see the Habs dropping the gloves and mixing it up and not backing down….how is that being “pushed around”?
Try looking up when the NHL’s contract buyout period is. Then look up the rules and payouts involved. Then go look up Kostitsyn’s contract status. Then go look up Gomez’s contract status. I think you’ll see my point.
So will anybody, I mean anybody in the media will ask Gomez what the hell is he paid to do for this team? I mean, come on, if any game was an indication of his worthelessness it was tonight. Did he even break a sweat?
I agree that they are playing badly…but I do not agree that they are being wussies…if they were wussies, then they would not be standing up to the B’s nor dropping the gloves, they would just be giving little bumps and skating away…they refuse to be intimidated, but indoing so, have forgotten how to play D. The B’s have tried a few cheapshots and are getting away with them because the refs are not calling them (the slewfoot on Hammer, the slewfoot on Wiz and Recchi’s headshot on Gionta).
ANyone else think we need some beef on this team? C’mon folks, between Boston and Philly, we can’t hope to get to the dance without something to back us up.
Missed the game but caught some of the lowlights. First of all, this team doesn’t have the size to compete with these assholes or the ones in Philly. It’s been like this for way too long and I blame Gainey for this mess. WTF was he thinking??? That’s what happens when you have too many midgets on your team. Second, I hope this lights a fire under the Habs ass to go on a long enough winning streak to take back first place. That’s the best way to stick it up Boston’s ass.
jdub, Spacek and Hammer didn’t have much of a choice BUT to fight. It was not a good thing to have happened, but I’d rather see them nut up, rather than cower away.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
What’s the rule for hitting your opponent during a fight with a foreign object? Watch the Campbell and Pyatt fight. Campbell was hitting Pyatt with his elbow pad. Will Hockey Dad intervene?
So, how much cap space do we have again? And do you think I could talk Gauthier into signing me, just for the Bruins and Flyers games? Honestly, I might not be the biggest guy, and my skating has a lot to be desired, but God! these games get me fired up! Put me in coach! I’ll teach these punkass goons not to mess with Le Sainte Flannelle! I’ll take ‘em all on! Hell, I’ll even play for… well, not for free, but close to it. How’s 10000$ a game sound?
Now we have to listen to the pride parade leader cherry wet his pants on NHIC on the wooping HIS bruins gave the Habs. Isn’t that something to look forward to.
See, what can Habs do?! NOTHING!!!! Thanks Bobo, thanks Gauthier. Your most prominent rookie in more than a decade gets gooned up by the entire Bruins team and the rest of the garbage on this team has no answer.
The bad news is we lost. But the good news is Timo, Habnofear (xtrahabsfan), and the other post-when-we-lose crowd is here. The evening just gets better and better….
Don’t think you’ll hear too much furor tonight, Timo. I agree with you… mostly. But you must admit, with regards to your last point, that the minority of the team who showed up tonight include almost all of the Gauthier acquisitions. Fair to rage on Gomez and AK this evening, but I don’t blame PG for them.
lol cowboy hats generally do, its a east west thing i guess… i see the hat and i get worried you wanna stomp big city liberals with their fast cars and books and stuffs
Man plecks is feeling the same way PK is the bruins are keying on him hitting him every chance they get . i mean lets face it montreal has only several wepons to eliminate and pleks is one of them.. watch how much they hit him in the 3rd, to contrast look to see how often gomez gets hit.. nil because he floates its pathetic..
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
Yep, hits Price and can’t get far enough away from Moen. Played to the crowd after fighting Komisarek but wouldn’t go Laraque after he chased him around for two periods. Shoves Subban into the boards from behind tonight when Subban has his back turned and is engaged with who I believe was Marchand. Hilarious. I wonder if Cherry will do a segment on how somebody’s gonna get him? Haha, doubt it.
It sure would be nice to see the guy everybody in the league fears(Wisniewski) drop the damn gloves though. Loved watching Moen fill Ference after that gutless slash.
Even though this game is very entertaining … its for a very different reason. I completely agree, the Habs look like their literally playing pick up hockey … seriously, how do they allow the 5th and 6th goal?
I feel like Im watching my monday night beer league game.
You’re missing the entertainment value Andrew. How do you explain the Habs scoring 5 goals against the Bruins. Win or lose who scores 5 goals against them? This is fun and probably just the type of game they needed. It’s a boot in ass, a kick in the pants, a wake up call. Interesting to see how they respond in the next few games.
Timo, I understand your style. I’m not gonna name call you. Were all a wee bit frustrated tonight especially since it was the B’s. But I just don’t think you’re right. It was a rumble, we came out on the wrong end. Doesn’t mean the ship is sinking and certainly doesn’t mean BG and PG are the worst thing to ever happen to our Habs.
Just my thoughts though.
“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.” – Bilbo Baggins
I was emphasizing “tonight”. Not a statement on their usual performance, just saying that “tonight” they look really, really bad. And that, my friend, is anything but a ridiculous statement, because … I can’t remember them looking this bad in a year.
Boone … please address this as I am embarressed and honestly scared for the safety of this team … did u see Pyatts face? Spacek and Hammer fighting? and we have no enforcer , protector? as a fan and as an other human being … i was sickened by the violence … PG should be ashamed to not have anyone on this team that can protect.
what an embarrassing f—ing game. i have not seen a game like this in along time and had a bad feeling about tonight. for the most part our players were pushed around. what a joke, i could careless about the goals but being pushed around drives me nuts.
No. BS hockey is the Trap, head shots, blind side hits and anything with Brian Burke involved. This is entertainment. Don’t forget, it’s a game. It’s not real life.
And the Islanders just traded for Al Montoya from the Coyotes…….funny because he and DiPietro had a fight in the preseason a few years ago and now because of another DP fight they now have Montoya on their team.
Been a Habs fan since I was in 2nd grade and sat behind Patrick Roy at the Aud.
Am I the only one that saw Campbell beat Pyatt with his elbow pad — There is no way that his fist did that damage! Fighting with an elbow pad has to against the rules even if your Colin Campbell son!
If I remember correctly, the bowling thing didn’t work out so well. But you are right, it is only one game , but I hope they remember this one for a while, and I REALLY hope when March 8th rolls around that it seems like yesterday to them.
Yeah that’s what I’m worried about we could be looking at a 3 game losing streak going into the Leafs game. Let me just say how much I hate the Bruins and the Leafs for what they have and will be giving them.
Been a Habs fan since I was in 2nd grade and sat behind Patrick Roy at the Aud.
And this is why majority of the blame has to go to Gainey and Gauthier. What are guys like Spach supposed to do? Run? Of course he manned up and fought… I respect him for that… but that’s not his role. The team needs to have enough tough players on their roster to stand up to that kind of stuff. Many here are ragging on the Bruins – whatever… All you people would dancing and singing if Habs laid that kind of beating on the Bruins. They did what they had to do to win. Habs have no answer. More and more teams are going to play Habs this way…
I’m not usually big on calling people out, and im usually fairly patient when name calling becomes deserved. But if Gomez and AK get one more minute of ice time, im gonna have a heart attack.
Tonight we could have done something great against the division leader. However the weak goaltending and unimpressive defense have let me down, especially on a night where we score 5 goals. I’d expect more. I’m not solely blaming Price however but he blew it tonight. I don’t want to see mediocre goaltending against the Bruins, I expect better.
That was just bad all around, the video guys are going to have fun putting together an arrangement of all the errors tonight, they may not have enough hard drive space
Gotta love the missed slew foot there. Also good that none of the officials could do their damn job and pick up that stick off the ice, totally screwing up passing lanes for the PP
whats with the doom and gloom, “good old fashion ass-kicking” BS
anything and everything did happen in that game – it could have easily been 8-6 for montreal
all of that nonsense at the end of the game was just that – nonsense. thuggery from the bruins and montreal doing whatever they could with the little they had
Thomas could be blamed for many of the montreal goals – the habs D can be blamed for most if not all of the boston goals.
just a really dirty game on the bruins part really – the habs shouldnt have to respond to that type of physicality. no team should – there is a rule book that defends players against that type of play.
and bunch of fights at the end of a game doesnt translate to a good old fashion ass kicking
Claude Julien is a clown and a scumbag. I was glad when he got fired by the Habs and I’m just as glad every time the Habs beat him and eveyr time the Bruins choke in the playoffs.
Has there ever been a game between the Habs and Bruins that that fat, bald walking phallus hasn’t put goons on in the last minute? Hammer and Spacek are old veterans, not scrappers, and have been in the league too long to have to get jumped like that.
Julien deserves to get mugged. He’s got no class, no brains, and no guts.
It really was a disgrace and there were officials near that and also near Spacek which clearly should have been broken up earlier as well as the guy who jumped Hamrlik when he was already on the ground. Disgusting.
Tell me that we could not use Ryan O’Byrne and his size tonight. Oh yes, we have Yanick Weber, MAB light. Canadians are getting pushed around. Could we not use a goal by Segeir K? Who did we get in return for him again? Dominic Moore anyone? Just how good will Lars Eller really be — 3rd line forward, maybe. Fire Pierre Gauthier……
The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Michal Frolik and Alexander Salak from the Florida Panthers for Jack Skille, Hugh Jessiman and David Pacan on Wednesday
if he does not score he is not worth anything to us unless he replaces moen, pyatt on the fourth line and we get a player who can score goals in big games and produces in the playoffs..
I agree with everyone that the team is playing awful defensively tonight…but I do not see how they are being pushed around…when you say “pushed around”, you imply no fight back nor response…I see the Habs dropping the gloves and mixing it up and not backing down….how is that being “pushed around”?
Here’s the thing, there’s playing with grit and playing like a goon. White and Conboy play with grit, Conboy has little scoring talent but he’s getting goals because he goes to the dirty areas. White can not be intimidated and is one of the most energetic checking forwards I’ve seen play in MTL’s system.
Habs can buy some grit but I think some of it remains on the farm. Pens got Aaron Asham for cheap this year and looking at it, Habs should’ve picked him up rather than drop cash on Pyatt. There will be a guy like him available in the offseason the Canadiens should be able to pick up.
Wait…why is Thomas still in the game? I thought if a goalie crosses the center red line that it is a game misconduct?
Also, what set the tone was the slew foot on Hammer…the refs did not call that so the B’s went goon…also Recchi going for the forearm shiver headshot on Gionta was very un-Rechhi-like…but the lack of defensive coverage is worse…
you raise valid points, we need some pwnage when it comes to knuckles, fact is, hell of a game, were still clearly in thomas’s head and at the end of the day, we finnish the season 3-1 against them
I hope PK demos Marchand again once he steps back on the ice. Hitting on an icing is so gutless, fits right into the Boston mantra. Yellow is the right colour for them
can you just stop? he has a minor league defense in front of him every night and tonight he just can’t stop every thing thrown at him. he leads the league in shots faced and saves. meanwhile, saint jaro has a 2.58 and .909 playing behind one of the best young defenses in the league.
Good move by Price, saves is hand and shows some class. Plus the Bruins can continue the game with a backup in nets, we can’t, Rask > Auld. I guess they’re not calling that a fight, because usually when goalies fight they get thrown out, especially Thomas, who made the trip for it.
This is only the 2nd time in the last 10 RS meetings that the Bruins have defeated the Habs.
Max Pacioretty was slashed so badly he had to go the bench immediately. He then scored a goal. Bruins went after his head in garbage time, he came back with another goal. We’ve got a power forward whose response to being hit is scoring goals and he apparently is made of the same stuff as Gorges.
P.K. Subban is a 25-point defencemen this season, he’s tied for the lead in goals by rookie defencemen and is 3 points behind ANA’s Cam Fowler for the lead.
Yannick Weber got his first regulation NHL Goal and two more assists, he’s got 10 points in 26GP.
Do we need more grit in the lineup? Yes but it’s in the system, patience.
Yeah because Boston does so well against Montreal in the playoffs. With Thomas as their goalie they don’t stand a chance. On a normal night Montreal has this in the bag as Price usually doesn’t give up six
Awesome entertainment. Loved the tenders dancing. No harm done but great for the show.
Totally ugly by Gomez and AK in this game. Unless they do something to redeem themselves in this game I’m gonna have to re-evaluate my love-hate relationships with both. Could be in for some deep therapy sessions.
Back in the day, they were called “policemen” and every team had at least one. Why, because officating in the NHL has always been questionable at best. So, teams couldn’t rely on refs or the “rules’ to protect players. Rather than just allowing the opposing teams to beat the shit out of you, players who served as protectors were employed. It applied back in the day and the game certainly has changed but it still remains as the only insurance against a team that tries to beat you up. So, people can bitch about the refs, but the refs will always be shaky. When they are, it’s good to have someone who will enforce the “rules!” Don’t bitch about refs and calls, bitch to mgmt about getting some physical players.
eller looked good after a slow 20 games but now he is just not contriibuting…he looks like has run out of gas…for the remainder of the season a moore or even a lupul type player pick up would add more to the team…eller will be much better next year but i dont think he can add much to the team for the rest of the year
hell yeah it was creepy how predictable the goals were on both ends, this was one for the ages, boo hoo were 3-1 against our mortal enemy this season, posters here need to fricking relax over a 2-0 game, nothing to wite home about for the bruins considering how price spared timmy
And you know who started all that? Yup, our captain. Brian Gionta. Wish Price tagged Thomas with at least one dirty shot though. And yep, Thomas should be gone.
- I wonder what’s coming the Bruins’ way from the NHL. Even the guys at TSN said it was all Bruins-instigated at the end. I mean, look who’s on the ice for the Canadiens versus who was on for the Bruins. Hammer, Spacek, Pyatt were forced to fight.
- Who chops at the back of an opposing player when leading by 3? Braindead. Seriously braindead.
- And then McQuaid on Pacioretty? If that doesn’t get him a suspension, I don’t know what would.
- I wish Lucic had the balls to stand up to Wiz. Bigger than him too but still doesn’t have the balls to do it. All he does is cheap shot players that his teammates have tied up. DBag.
- Pouliot really looked pissed after that fight but you’ll notice the difference in class between a Canadien and a Bruin in that Pouliot, though royally pissed, didn’t pound on Krejci when he was down. He could have done serious damage with no extra punishment. And it’s not like Pouliot is a fighter. On the other side you have Bruins goons pounding on Spacek and Pyatt while they have their faces on the ice, Horton and Lucic mugging Subban in the corner, Marchand running Wiz with his guard down after an icing, and Lucic cross checking Price as he tries to make a save. Disgraceful.
Here’s what will happen. We won’t get anyone by the deadline. We’ll crawl into the playoffs and get thumped by the Bruins or Philly and we’ll be out. You can’t win with all our small guys, we have to be able to push back and Boston totally manhandled us tonight and there was nothing we could do about it, it was embarrassing.
nah just make sure they don’t play on the same line. They both know they screwed up tonight “Tell him he’s Wayne Gretzky.” – Oilers coach Ted Green, after Shaun Van Allen suffered a concussion and couldn’t remember who he was.
A loss I can take. Losing 8-6 in a see-saw game? Whatever!!
It’s not that punkie, it’s the over-all toughness thing.
Were you a Habs fans yet in ’76? Did you see how the Habs handled the Broad Street Bullies?
Hockey is a tough physical game. Small players are great. The Habs have too many and not enough young big physical in your face bruisers. None in fact.
The proof was in the massive collapse against the Flyers last play-offs.
The Habs got owned tonight. Bitch-slapped. Served.
I suppose Cammy is gonna come back and kick all dey asses hunh!!!
enjoy being punched out? slapped around, facewashed…this is nothing, wait till the playoffs.
bring up white, shultz and henry now…. we are sickening and weak.
1:The N.A.G.S. (North American Grit Speed) Youth Movement will bring us respect. 2: The NHL-REF-SYNDICATE will do everything in its power to deny us the cup. 3. ..call up WHITE/SHULTZ/PAX now.
What are the chances we have anything left for the Isles tomorrow? Thats the worrying part, lose this game and you lose a 4 point game with a high chance of blowing another 2 tomorrow, thats 6! Need 1 more goal before the period is out, get some momentum back.
I think it should be 5 on 3 us, they got the original call, everything else cancels, and Thomas should get an extra 2 for making the trip. Gionta could get a call for that charge though, even though he missed.
I completely agree, I didn’t think anyone else saw that. That should be big-time suspension, or sent to his room without dinner at the least. Kidding aside, using a weapon repeatedly on a guy’s face is dispicable, I hope it is dealt with, but it likely won’t.
Geez, Pierre’s really lobbying for the Bruins. Do they have some sort of opening in their front office? Fart Catcher to Chiarelli? Chief banana procurement officer for Cam The Ape Neely?
Moen needs to stand 6 feet from the net and practice for an hour a day at just shoveling pucks into the yawning cage. He is absolutely useless with the puck on his stick, unless Gonchar is standing in front of him.
So – Chinless and Bruins-lover think that Boston won this “with authority”? Yep – by two goals on a night where Price was not at his best and our entire 2nd line was benched. I guess in their homer-anti-Hab world that’s authority. They wouldn’t know hockey if it bit them in the ass – although I believe in my heart that McGuire dreams of being bitten in the ass by Lucy.
Gomez & AK46 really showed their stripes tonight…Molson needs to buy out their sorry ass contracts since no team in their right mind would take guys with no heart…
all hab fans get frustrated after a game like this but maybe we should give credit to the coaches and most of the players on the team at where we are in the standings…really on paper our line up is not that great..we love many of the players because they play for the habs…but what would we really say if our forward line up was called the leafs flyers or bruins i think there would be many negative comments
The biggest team in the NHL is the Washington Capitals, I believe. Is their excuse for not winning the Cup that they’re too big? Come on. Size isn’t everything.
I’m not sure enough has been made about what Campbell did to Pyatt, who didnt let his elbow pad fall of his arm and basically used it as a weapon as it dangled from his hand. I don’t care who your daddy is, thats some serious stuff.
“Tell him he’s Wayne Gretzky.” – Oilers coach Ted Green, after Shaun Van Allen suffered a concussion and couldn’t remember who he was.
Every effort needs to be done to grab Yemelin next season, if he’s patrolling the blue line opposing teams will feel a lot less comfortable going in knowing that he’s ready to put them in his sights with a big hit.
I love how our lil guy’s are trying but the Booins are too big …a seven game series would be a disaster for our Habs against this team with playoff rules!
Disagree. As I posted below, this team went to war together. They may have come out of it with some bruises and scrapes but they gave as good as they got. They lost the game but I think that ultimately the score became secondary to the level of pride in the crest on the front and in their fellow men wearing them.
You are the last person who should be telling anybody to shut up. You lost a bet and shouldn’t even be here,if you had any pride you would have sucked it up lived with the consequences of having a big yap. Instead you pull the gutless coward card and come back under a different user name.
Impact players in the playoffs? Benny is a “maybe” at best. AK46? That would be a “miracle.” How many years does he get to show he can produce? Ain’t gonna happen with him.
Those guys kept on playing, kept on fighting long after the old Habs would have collapsed. They will endure, I feel sorry for the NYI tommorow honestly.
They answered every goal tonight….untill it wasnt a game anymore.
Little blood will wipe right off wha? McGruber style…ripping some throats LMAO
They all stood there ground , the only one that made me cring was Spaceman…..God love yah Spacek…but..u gotta work on that takedown turtling pose LMAO Good fella
Pouliot = KIMBO !!! I hope Krechi is concussed !!!!!!
What really pissed me off is that on any night 4 goals would have been enough to win against anybody. The defence, and defensive play in general, has sucked ass big time tonight.
cambell is an a-hole, he slammed pyatt’s head against the glass and pounded him with hsi elbow pad. i hope next game some one jumps him. ahh man i want the habs to beef up just for that one game against the bruins. i dont mind losing, but just get in henry, conboy white and hell bring back laraque and beat the snot out of those scumbags
but serously tho, i would liike to see habsdoing three trades. imho, i want 3 guys, jared boll, david clarkson and theo peckham-is this possible guys?
i like niel, but it would help to get another thoughie, (backes , malone or downie, cole or boll), we should aslo call up white(what the hell is pyatt doing here) and henry, and conboy
Wait…why is Thomas still in the game? I thought if a goalie crosses the center red line that it is a game misconduct?
Also, what set the tone was the slew foot on Hammer…the refs did not call that so the B’s went goon…also Recchi going for the forearm shiver headshot on Gionta was very un-Rechhi-like…but the lack of defensive coverage is worse…
again, tonight (and btw, I appreciate not name calling me) the ridiculous, pathetic is the Habs. Nothing I do or say can be more ridiculous that this team.
OK you know what? They lost the game tonight. A couple of our guys got pounded. But they all hung in there and they all stuck up for one another. We may have just seen the best team building exercise since Carbo took them bowling.
we may not see this type of high scoring game involving the habs for another year…i think it is time to admit that while ak46 may become a better player with another team there is no reason to keep him just because of that…sorry this guy has no grit and effort…he will be invisible in the playoffs …it is also time to upgrade pyatt he provides no scoring and his d is getting worse…gion gives full effort and i wish pouliot would have some of that…darche and dd gave full effort and same with maxpac…
plecks has not played today to the level you expect your top forward to play in a big game…ak46 and pouliot lack the grit and effort to contribute in games like this…they both disappeared last year in the playoffs and we can pretty well expect the same this year…
That’s Lucic, bravest man there ever was when a back is turned, I remember he and a teammate hauling Komisarek down from behind and trying to curb-stomp him essentially in the final RS BOS-MTL game of the 2008-2009 season.
We’d beaten the Bruins 3 straight tmes this season before tonight’s loss. We won a good number of the fights. Really, only Spacek & Pyatt–two guys with absolutely no knuckle shuffling credentials at all–had their butts handed to them.
We hung in there all night long and the guys (minus Kostitsyn & Gomez) all went to war together. There’s a couple guys a little dinged up but they gave almost as good as they got.
I know this is not going to score me any points (I should be used to it by now) but this team is a bunch of wussies and they suck. This game is not entertaining – it’s embarrassing. Habs are being bullied all over the ice and there is zero response. Defense is in absolute disarray. Gomez – well, the sooner he gets injured and we write off his salary the better. I am not expecting miracle comeback in the third. Bruins just have to clog the neutral zone and pressure Habs D a bit and that’s it… Habs will have no answer. Half the team is sleep walking… the rest are just trying not to get hit. Only a handful of players are trying to save face… 3 maybe 4 against 20 Bruins. Yeah, and Gauthier gets praise after this bullshit.
Bruins borrowed playbook from the Flyers. Martin can stress team speed to overcome size of opposition, but whenever one or two of our players start to feel intimidated, the whole system breaks down. Subban and Weber, despite their offensive output tonight, played like rookies. Plekanec was a non-factor for the most part. Kostitsyn, Gomez and Eller – can’t imagine we’ll see that grouping again.
i feel bad for eller being stuck with those 2 bums.
they were just sitting there laughing and talking while the rest of the team was working there asses off and fighting back.
and scott gomez has an “A” on his shirt?!?!? this is an insult to gill, gionta, pleks, gorges, markov
you name it.
Gomez a leader… would a leader play this badly in a 4 point game? would a leader sit back on the bench and joke around with another underperforming underacheiving player…
name me one time when koivu, gionta, markov, gill were sitting on the bench laughing it up in a game like this after playing so poorly?
is there any professional pride left in thsoe 2…
i would be humiliated sitting on the bench watching teammate after teammate being involved and fighting for every inch of ice or against someone else..
pathetic… i said earlier that unless Gomez has an amazing playoff run.. this season is a failure of epic proprtions for him… even ignoring the paycheck… he is brought in for a purpose and all too many times he has underachieved and not answered the bell
as for ak46.. well when one of your supposed assistant captain’s and top centers is joking around with you, well not much of an example is being set.
although at his stage ak46 should know what is expected of him and shouldn’t beed constant motivation
Frolik is the biggest name (Jessiman clearly the biggest bust), but don’t overlook Salak. Markstrom was clearly the goalie of the future in Florida, but if Salak pans out, the Hawks have a good young goaltending duo going forward in Crawford/Salak.
Why? Are there seriously whiners after that roller coaster? They got beat, get over it. I thought they did well enough to stay toe-to-toe, they lost by only 2 goals. Fight after fighter, hit after hit. If they won you would all be cheering.
AK and Gomez must have been told they are being traded because they did not show up tonight. God bench them will ya JM and PG you better get some toughness on this team they are getting killed. We now lost Patches from a slash from that big idoit. Worst that coward Luci thinks he something.
My wife works nights so she wakes up with the score 2-1, pours her first cup of coffee, sits down and sees goal after goal goal after goal, Price battles Thomas, goal after goal after goal, then looks into her coffee cup and asks, ‘what did you put in my coffee?”
I think Eller will be a good player, but he’s not right now, bring up White and send Eller down. Lucic 2nd goal is on Eller IMO. This game seems a bit fast for him and he cant keep up.
Hmm.. well, old time hockey and we answered the bell. That’s a big plus for me–looks like character to me.
Gomez is in very big trouble, and deserves it. AK is crap but that’s a known. JM can sit him for game for my money. I hope he gets called out by his teammates–Gio especially.
All I was thinking tonight was when and if Tinordi would make it, if there was any hope that Schultz could turn into an AHLer first and then an NHLer afterwards.
There’s the tiny crew of Gio, Cammy, Plex, DD, and Weber then the old softies Spacek and Hamrlik add to the mix a retaliating Gomez and you can see why the Habs are getting their asses handed to them when the play gets chippy.
Pacioretty is awesome. Price and Subban, are totally amazing. Weber finally got his 1st NHL goal and shows promise. Good news indeed.
It’s not the loss but the way the Habs lost, and because of how the Bruins won. It leaves me disgusted.
I agree with most of your points…but we will need to “buy” some “grit” as it is not all in the “system”…the kids are doing very well and that bodes well for the future…
I think it is pretty discouraging to see a whole line of Habs go AWOL…that issue needs to be adressed soon…JM has to be seriously pisssed off about what he saw tonight with Gomez and AK46…
Like I said below – 3 -4 players are giving their all – PK, Desharnais, Darche, maybe Pouliot… the rest is just brutal. Absolutely brutal. And as usual the highest paid players are leading the suckfest.
This is the absolute last game you criticize a goaltender in, first and foremost. More importantly still, considering that goaltender is the only reason your team even hung around long enough to make it as much of a game it is, you ought to keep your mouth shut. Something this completely inane has no place anywhere.
I think we’d all like a little more size and toughness but there is NO HONOUR OR BRAVERY in waiting for a mismatch and isolating a smaller player or back-stabbing, double-teaming one guy like we regularly see the Bruins do. Pouliot and Price could have seriously hurt their respective (willing) dance parthers tonight, yet they both let up. The same can’t be said about the savagry dished out to poor Tommy Pyatt or the outnumbered situations PK had to endure. Tonight Boston climbs back over Philly as my most hated team. Chickes**t c***ts!
I don’t have anything against Horton besides him being a Bruin, but the guy has a lot of talent and he’s not using it well. Curse of the Panthers continues to follow players around, you play there for a few years and you don’t have any NHL success after you leave for the most part.
So, at least before we could count on more less solid D to compensate for losers like Gomez and Co not scoring. Now what? What is this team going to do now? Can The System adjust?
gotta love the bruins goons being on, while the habs have spacek, plekanec, pyatt and hamrlik on. Real classy bruins. Either way, how embarassing and stupid
Just stop talking. You haven’t anything close to a clue. Carey Price is the only reason the Canadiens weren’t buried four or five to nothing after the first period.
Ok I love my team but …..Gauthier and Gainey you f’d up !What did you think would happen ??? Get some fracking size and fighters on this Habs team ! ENOUGH of this BS !
One of the organizations biggest problems is taking to long evaluating talent. Ak46 would have never lasted on my team for more than two years if I was the GM. Pouliot also is a no brainer. DD is a good player but not on this team.
The campbell thing will go unpunished. I highly doubt that they’ll rule that enough to suspend a guy, though I think it should be.
I was glad to see in a game where both teams were going at each other like they were, Pouliot chose NOT to fill Krecji once he had him beat and defenceless. A bit of class.
AK has been bad tonight, gomez has been much worse. But those who are slagging on AK for blowing coverage on the 3rd bruins goal,ak is playing right wing the guy left open at the point belonged to whoever was playing left.
You can fight back against a gorilla, and still be “pushed around”. They are, at the very least, getting whipped and are clearly physically over-matched.
Henry is out of his depth in the NHL, Schultz has a broken foot and hasn’t done anything this season in the A, maybe White but just to replace Pyatt and it’s not like’s going to solve the D issue. Do some research before throwing out names with high PIM counts.
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of a Jerry Springer Show”
ok, serious question: price or auld tomorrow? maybe price to get the confidence back against the isles? or do you think he knows at this point that tonight has just been absurd?
They were effectivly jumped by Bruins who are incline to fight. Spatch clearly wanted no part in a fist fight, but it was fight, or literaly run away. He turtled because he’s already expressed the desire NOT to fight. But when someone drops their gloves and starts punching you in the face, there’s only a few options.
Ya he has the players, and he chose to use them in a situation to do EXACTLY what they did. There were other lines he could have used, but instead he chose to put out a line full guys who are eager to go at it.
These guys are like the ’74 Flyers. Never content to just win, must also shed blood. Well, I guess this game might have some effect on PGs shopping list.
Curse you Boston for having culturally relevant music to your city…House of Pain and Dropkick Murphy’s, I’m trying hard not to like the Bruins right now lol. Great game.Too bad the neanderthals in Boston can’t bottle their enthusiasm, hearing some dirty little stories now on TSN.
I will say one thing though, whoever that was who fought Pyatt should get a serious suspension. he was hitting him with his elbow pad. This is serious business, assault with a weapon style.
“Tell him he’s Wayne Gretzky.” – Oilers coach Ted Green, after Shaun Van Allen suffered a concussion and couldn’t remember who he was.
Agreed, the bruins just walked and punched all over us.. we need a enforcer.. remember how willing turtle lulich was to fight BGL… and now patched… man
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
The Habs lost the mental battle and the physical one. As good as the Habs are, as much as they can finish top 10 over-all, they are missing the ability to lay down the law.
I would rather rebuild out of the play-offs for 5 years with big, talented bodies than go throuigh this again. I can’t stand seeing the Habs get beat up by the Bruins and Flyers time and again. It’s frustrating to see the Habs play impotent hockey against robust teams.
I am contradicting an earlier post. Speed and size are not enough. The Habs have to win these types of pitched battles because they wont go away unless the do.
I agree with everyone that the team is playing awful defensively tonight…but I do not see how they are being pushed around…when you say “pushed around”, you imply no fight back nor response…I see the Habs dropping the gloves and mixing it up and not backing down….how is that being “pushed around”?
yeah it sucks, the crying should really be directed at gomez.. seriousloy laughing it up on the bench while being benched.. i seriously dont think it would be a bad decision to bench him for a bit.. he’s a punk
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
no chance, pyatt scores the shootout winner as the habs last possible shooter. The habs are down by one in the shootout but auld ties it up with a marek malik between the legs goal, then pyatt wins it with a linus omark spin move goal.
Make the world a better place…Punch McGuire in the face. Hey Pierre go fuck yourself you idiot. I hope Molson bans you from the rink for life, you fucking puke.
Brunet says Eller hads no place in the Top Six. – eller and pouliot should switch places, the only downside is breaking up the “nifty-fifties” line, which has been good of late
3-on-1 on PK…Horton then Lucic jumps in to take down PK…and then Macquaid when PK is already on the ice? That is gutless…Horton vs. PK would have been fine since Horton gave the little shot…but the rest concentrating on him is cheap…I can understand because he is becoming an impact player..but 3-on-1 with a lot of cheap shots makes me think of the race card.
If this doesn’t inspire Goatier to make a move for some toughness I don’t know what will! “
The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of a Jerry Springer Show”
More NESN BS: Loudmouth homer commentator says PK had his stick up like he was going to take a swing at horton before horton hit him… lik wtf is he looking at?
Are you kidding, they were laughing their asses off after that. Price and Tomas are friends and it goes back to both all-star games. There’s a genuine respect there… don’t kid yourself.
I get how JM must feel about the Gomez line, but you have to question the wisdom of benching an entire line in the first game of back-to-backers. I suppose a message must be sent. Sigh.
First of all – hit the net from 10 ft away please Pouliot
Second – were gonna start handing out blame and calling it a loss already? Did you watch the 2nd period? I’d say a 2 goal comeback after that mess wouldnt be the craziest thing that could happen
Total Humiliation … three fights, three ass-kickings … but that’s a good job by Julien (NO SURPRISE) to have those guys on the ice. I always said Julien was a f*****g clown.
OH FOR F. SAKES. Spatch wanted no part of that shit but there’s no way out. Like anyone thought that we were a team that could do this and come out on top.
I still do not see them being beaten up and run out of the rink…that would mean that they were not fighting back…they have not backed down all night, though.
Both Price and Thomas received fighting majors and minors for leaving the crease… which doesn’t make sense because the referee told Price to vacate his crease since the scrum was in his end.
Also, Thomas should have recieved another 2 minutes under the instigator rule for skating down the ice with the intent of starting a fight.
I hate the Bruins and their fans. I wish March 8th was tomoroow but we HAVE to win against the Isles tomorrow night. I don’t care that it’s a back to back. They will either have Mikko Nikkosen (sp?) playing his 2nd career game or Al Montoya playing his 6th career game in the NHL.
Been a Habs fan since I was in 2nd grade and sat behind Patrick Roy at the Aud.
Who do we have with grit in the system???? Conboy with 53 PiM in 36 games? Ryan White with 77 PIM in 33 games??
Alex Henry with 77 PIM in 50 games?? We have no grit in the system. We need to trade to get some. Chris Neil is who we should be targeting but what do I know?
It is disgraceful but don’t expect the NHL to do much if anything. The best way to deal with goon hockey is on the ice, always has been, always will be. Remember when Robinson took on Schultz? That’s how you respond. Unfortunately, we don’t have anyone capable of filling that role.
i agree …we will not beat boston every game…very few teams sweep another team in the reg season…in the playoffs we know gion, cam plecks will perform..now they may get over worked and run out of gas by the 3rd round..but the key is still ak46 and pouliot because if they could become impact players in the playoffs we would be in great shape..but sadly i think both will have very poor scoring stats and yes their roll is to produce not just be grinders…as we have enough grinders…
I know they won’t and apparently can’t buy them out…but it is frustrating to watch on a night when the team is getting it’s ass kicked…7 mill plus buys a pretty good power forward who will step up in big games…
Oh ya, didn’t you know? Lucy’s a star now, he get’s preferential treatment. When he wants to fight your goalie you have to let him and hide in the corner.
About the 20th transaction:
The significance of letting Boucher go is over-looked IMO and too often slagged rather than appreciated. I’ve also noticed that the integration of call-ups has been much more fluid because of the coaching change in Hamilton. Long term it appears at any rate that the Habs are building a complete development system, and one that is on the same page from the top to the bottom.
I gotta say that although gomez is overpaid, I’m glad we didn’t end up with chris drury.
- Gomez is holding down the “overpaid” button
Can’t wait for René Rancourt fist pump!

I caught that. He’s absolutely horrendous and his little arm wag at the end makes me wanna shit!
Throw in Redden and ask yourself how Sather keeps his job after taking three called strikes.
Is the game on TSN by any chance? Taking my little one to grandma’s for dinner but grandma only has basic cable.
Same goes for Philips.
I’m right on board with you there.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Chris Nilan is 53? Wow, thought he was older than that… he’s only 4 years older than me… that’s nuts.
^ ^ ^ Hmm… I’ll have to try that. I’ll let you know how it works out.
“Cause RDS thinks Beauchemin can front the new edition of Offenbach, too.
I’m always in favour of theft in a trade but I don’t think Burke is going to be the Best Buy security guard that believes we’re taking a 65″ LCD for cleaning.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
It’s “otherworldly”, really.
Hope PG stands pat ATM ’cause the Habs aren’t ripe for a deep run…. Simple.
That being said – if Gauthier could somehow fleece Burke into taking St. Denis or Carle plus a 2nd for Kaberle….
We all remember what we got for ROY when he was traded in 1995
We’ve seen so many hits like the Paille one over the past few years, some of which have been punished and some of which have been ignored by the league’s so-called disciplinary committee.
Cherry on the other hand has shown he has no place being on the air.

bravo!!
You made several good points. You correctly criticized the double standard that can exist between players, teammates and others, you pointed out how blatantly incoherent the NHL is in its punishments, and you said that Don Cherry shouldn’t be on the air.
I agree fully!!

Very good post, 100% agree.

The only time I smoke is when the Habs lose … LOL
On Crosby, he said this the day after the Cooke on Savard hit:
“At some point there’s got to be a clear indication from the league because we’ve seen this so many times now,” Penguins captain Sidney Crosby said.
Go Habs Go!
Mr Boone, Im not disagreeing about the Rivalry but the islander/Ranger rivalry is a pretty damn good one IMO, Having grown up in NY i know it first hand and 2, I believe Ryder lit us up in the Playoffs one year, maybe your not counting playoffs.

Emery’s not that good anyway. Ottawa squandered those fat years of great teams but never had anyone decent between the pipes.
Would it be going out on a limb to say this game will depend a lot on the goaltending?

“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Don Cherry disagrees with you on this point — maybe he’s correct and you are wrong.
Thanks, back to therapy for me.
Beauchemin would be the perfect D partner for Markov.
Yes, asking him to be the top guy is a recipe for disaster. But asking him to play Bad Cop, if paired with a believable Good Cop, will work.
Kubina for Exelby
I stayed home from bowling to watch my Habs tonight. When I have to go out I always PVR the game. But most times when I PVR it the Habs usally lose & I don’t want the Habs to lose tonight.
SO LETS GO HABS ….
LET’S KICK SOME BROON A$$ …
I’m for standing pat unless we can get this season help for draft picks or AHL players that wouldn’t in all probability not become a Hab (i.e. Carle). Nor likely to happen, so stay the course (Damn I hated when Bush said that)
Unlike the Boston/Montreal rivalry though, the Islanders/Rangers rivalry isn’t relevant anymore, in large part “thanks to” Mike Milbury.
Shirley MaClaine agrees with you so you might be onto something.
Don´t agree about Weber. He is a weakness on defence and always will be -a below average nhl defenceman. He´s a good fill-in which is what he´s doing now, but he won´t crack the top 6 next year. Heck he won´t crack it this year if they go out and get another defenceman.
…. and don’t go to the dep for smokes either, you stay put.
Don Cherry hasn’t been correct for decades.
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Surely you must be joking!

Except for managing the worst playoff collapse in 35 years of course.

Amen brother. Gut check time!
Wear’em down and frustrate them, then let them beat themselves like they usually do against the Habs. But we gotta come out to play to make that happen!

You are so right, Boone. I’ll be at this game tonight and will bring earplugs for Rancourt’s crooning.
Let’s hope the Bs play as badly as he sings. Dogs howl all over downtown Boston every time they play a

beauchimen sucks
What about the Halak vs. Price rivalry?
Just joking.
Nice to win this one, stay in their brains…
That being said…. I bet you he would do a pretty decent job with the Sens if he got the chance. Although I feel like I’m in the minority!
Yeah, I defy Pierre to find a better return for a goalie. Goalie markets are always iffy, not just last year.
Boone: it’s ducks/kings btw … but who cares
The grim reality is, and I say this as a big goalie fan, only an idiot would pay top dollar for a goaltender in todays NHL. There are so many young rookies that are NHL ready, older “still got it” goalies like Roloson/Sanford/Raycroft and guys Emery/Nabokov that are wildcards. All willing to work for next to nothing.
Yeah…Habs need to get bigger and tougher…but NOT NEIL. He is useless. He is a complete goon, and cant even win fights. Lucic had Neils face leaking blood all over the place.
I bet that Flopper hits like a girl
Never pass up an opportunity.
no he cant do a lot or it all but if he was on the ice when all that went down do you think he would have stood there or do you think he would have fed lulich his teeth.. maybe not win but at least try.. and thus letting teams know you cant just push the team around.. and that in it self is somthing this team does not have AT ALL, so to me that aspect of the game that we lack would be more than enough.. oh did i mention he can score som ugly goals from time to time…
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
Price is the only reason this game is still in arms reach … i hope hes trash talking the habs … they need it
“Price ready to go: It looked like he was taking off his mask to get into it with Lucic.
“They’re gonna get run out of the building”, Lucic pushing around our goalie…….but we don’t need any size or grit right? Pfffft!
Yep… horsecrap… who’da thunk it in this garbage league.
Trying to rationalize the irrational is an exercise in futility. At least that’s what I always tell my wife.

price playing out of his mind to give habs some hope..being pushed around….christ.grrrrrrrr
listen boys, we are in a division where we are going to face either philly or boston or both in the playoffs, and we are like it or not going to need someone to deal physically with these teams who have the same play book on us.
no way that lucic hits price if carkner is in the line up.
get him tomorrow.
According to NHL.com, double minor to Lucic, and 2 minutes to Price? for roughing as well. Moen picks up a 10 minute misconduct.
I wish we could get some fair reffing.
With all this crap the Broons are startin & Carey playing out of his mind it should give the Habs motivation enough to drop these CHUMPS.
Don’t forget, that fraud in net in the Bruins end will give up about three stinkers tonight and they’ll lose.
The game will be tied in the first five minutes.
Gomez… it starts with me… I need to be better and set a better example… wah wah wah
Here’s a thought for the Gomezphobes:
Mike Cammalleri in about the same amount of games as he played last year had 26G (Don’t forget his drought when he came back with no goals before the playoffs), this year he’s got half that. Where’s the moaning about him? How many times has he failed to bury his one-timers that terrorized goalies last year? He’s getting 6 million this year for 13 goals in 44 games?
I like the guy but this team would be on top in the NE if he’d put 8-10 more goals away before he’d been sidelined.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Could easily have been a lot worse than 2-0. B’s had almost as many hits, 17, as shots.
Pricey is the only one showing any balls at all it would seem. I hope we don’t go for Kaberle. I don’t want us helping the laffs. If they were a drowning man I’d throw them an anchor.
It’s been TD Garden since the beginning of the last season. TD dropped the Banknorth name in the US in 2009.
if montreal need to beef up we need more than just one guy and our whole team has stop being pansies and knock the fu*k outta some one and not worry about the consequences. most players in philly can be dirty and back it up, same goes for bruins and anaheim. what is one guy going to do. remeber moen when he was with anaheim, he used to beat people up because he had other guys who backed him up.
Moen gets the misconduct? Well done NHL, don’t give the misconduct to the guy who was attacking a goalie in his own crease AFTER THE WHISTLE or anything.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Neil, Clarkson, I don’t care, but Travis Moen and Tom Pyatt just aren’t scaring anyone.
Go Habs Go!
Thomas made a big save int eh first two minutes. Thought that coudl be a bad omen.
By the way, on the TSN site, Price has two mintes for roughing, Moen 10 minutes misconduct!? Lucic two 2 minutes for roughing.
You gotta love the reffing these days. They built this up by not calling any roughing sooner.
Officials are giving Moen a misconduct, Price a minor and Lucic with the double minor. I mean sure, Lucic was the one attacking Carey in his own crease after the whistle but whatever, do your job like a drunk, nobody in the NHL seems to care.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Size matters!
And we are too small…
Pierre, you gotta make a move for size and heart!
At least ‘ol Pierre from TSN said it correctly:
“AK looks like he needs a firecracker up his you know what”… I concur; but I would incl. the ENTIRE team.
Except Carey….clearing out Lucic….Priceless!
again chris niel alone cant do a lot.
Game became real hard to watch, getting bullied all over the ice. I like this team, but we need some size and toughness desperately.
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
wow how many more beers should i have?
sorry about that mess
I would LOVE to see Price get pissed and go all rodeo on Lucic or pound Timmy the Tuna into retirement. This game is reminding me why I hate the Bruins!
These refs just made it official: It’s ok to target goalies now. I say we send Tommy Pyat on a torpedo run on Thomas.
Agree…
no forgetds his drought before the playoffs – just like no one forgets his 13 goals in last years playoff run
just like no one forgets that gomez has 6 fewer goals in 8 more games played and is -10 (cammalleri’s +6) for $2.7 million more this season
dont get me wrong, cammalleri is having a garbage year – but im not gonna give up on a stud, just live im not gonna give up hating the dud
This is the BEST rivalry in hockey imo.
There are gonna be some hefty fines on these goons come tomorrow!!
I think this game goes to the shootout…
Someone needs to use their stick and crosscheck a few teeth of of a few Bruins players and maybe they wont do this shit.
sorry but crosscheck to the teeth is exactly what is required.

Well Thanks D. This loss is all on YOU!
thats on the refs – too much of that should not have happened
That last minute was absolutley disgusting. It’s garbage like that that makes non-hockey fans laugh at this sport.
How do you think the Bruins would’ve felt if Price would’ve kept pounding at Thomas when he went down?
Take one down with us…good shit benny
“I went to see a fight the other night…And A hockey game broke out!” ~Rodney Dangerfield~
They didn’t shut up the whole scrum about how chara wanted Pac because of his push after the OT winner. He’s allowed retribution for that apparently.
Like I said earlier, for 10000$ a game, I’ll beat up as many Bruins and Flyers as I physically can!
When Chara is coming in like that, these guys need to duck the hit, so he slams his face into the boards. He’ll come in a lot slower after that.
THROW GARBAGE ON THE ICE FACKING MARTIN
Good on Benny.
Well, he’s been on the ice that much but I can’t say he’s “played” all tthe time.

That’s it, don’t read too much into this game. The Habs usually own the broonz on the scoreboard, where it really counts. Tonight was an anomaly.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
Call up Alex Henry for the next tilt against the B’s and lets see a Marty McSorley impression…..on EVERYONE!!!!!!
GO HABS!!!!!!!!!!
Yikes! Pouliot just made Krejci his bitch!
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Can we say STEROIDS? Wow…some players gotta be doin’ some!
thats 2 in a row
Makes me wanna puke.
***Subbang!!!***
We have them right where we want them. Piece of cake, 2 points.!
I want Neil & Backes to go along with Moen & Henry Then we’ll be cooking with gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it’s any consolation, Price was better than Thomas who had a healthy D. 14 goals from 2 of the best goalies in the league. And some dummies blame Price.
So did Mac Pax get hurt after being Chara’s rug doll?
PG HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! call the Hansons we need some tough
ness
Habs will win this by one goal.
They did NOt run away with this game…and they wont get away with that again…..not at the BELL !!
lol
Nice punch Pouliot!
I agree with everyone that the team is playing awful defensively tonight…but I do not see how they are being pushed around…when you say “pushed around”, you imply no fight back nor response…I see the Habs dropping the gloves and mixing it up and not backing down….how is that being “pushed around”?
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
On the bright side … I had tickets to this shit-show and couldn’t get to Boston to see it. Thank God.

I’m sure Carey will have new pads for his next start too. Can’t blame him for wanting to get rid of the bad mojo
Its time to switch to whiskey, we’ve been drinkin’ beer all night
Subban has already played over 20 minutes tonight.
There ya go Patches!
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
Try looking up when the NHL’s contract buyout period is. Then look up the rules and payouts involved. Then go look up Kostitsyn’s contract status. Then go look up Gomez’s contract status. I think you’ll see my point.
Go Habs Go!
Roy gave up 9.
Good point.
Oh no!!! Queue the comeback!!! Yeah!!! Go Habs Go!! Bob Gainey you are awesome!!!
PG, get on the phone with ottawa and grab neil and phillips…

So will anybody, I mean anybody in the media will ask Gomez what the hell is he paid to do for this team? I mean, come on, if any game was an indication of his worthelessness it was tonight. Did he even break a sweat?
Booin fans are idiots just like filthy fans and the USA chant.
NHL.com had it as +2 for the last 10 minutes, it just changed.
Old fashioned ASS KICKING in every respect.
we need some toughness in the line up.
Gomez has his worst game of the season when the team needs him the most.
Yes please.
Our D is useless. Spacek, Hammer. Old and over-paid.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Ahhh… All in all I enjoyed that.
Old Timey Hockey.
Great stuff, we showed guts, and gave as good as we got.
Bit crazy goal-wise, but, whatevs. We proved we’ve got cohones.

Classy…..

Wow, one lousy game, and look who comes outta the woodwork
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
had a bad feeling about this game but hard not say its freakin embarrassing..the bullying drives me mental…arggghhhhh.
Sorry, that answer meant F_ _ _ all. Gill should have crosschecked Chara in the mouth. pointe finale.
NEVER, that would be admitting to a mistake. He’s just not ready and should have been in the minors, but that would make the trade harder to swallow.
“A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject”–Winston Churchill
Boston crowd chants “USA”, while all 5 Bruins skaters are Canadian. Idiots.
Time to up your meds buddy…
Stands for Bruins Suck hockey?
Love how Lucic wants none of Moen or Wisniewski but he’s tough when Subban’s back is turned.
jdub, Spacek and Hammer didn’t have much of a choice BUT to fight. It was not a good thing to have happened, but I’d rather see them nut up, rather than cower away.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
So Benny has the hardest shot and the hardest punch on the team. Wow.

Metamucil rules!!!
Not really sure what BG has to do with this…
We let in too many goals, and mixed it up.
What’s the upset? Where’s the funeral?
—Hope Springs Eternal—
Now we have to listen to the pride parade leader cherry wet his pants on NHIC on the wooping HIS bruins gave the Habs. Isn’t that something to look forward to.

cause they’re beating the shit out of us.

Y’know, it may sound weird, but there’s a LOT to like that you can take away from this game.
See, what can Habs do?! NOTHING!!!! Thanks Bobo, thanks Gauthier. Your most prominent rookie in more than a decade gets gooned up by the entire Bruins team and the rest of the garbage on this team has no answer.
Habs are playing phenomenal … your right and he’s an idiot

Punkster,I’m all for the power of positive but for now SHUT UP!
The bad news is we lost. But the good news is Timo, Habnofear (xtrahabsfan), and the other post-when-we-lose crowd is here. The evening just gets better and better….
I’m sure if you let him know you’re disappointed he’ll try harder.
I’m guessing you’ll be wearing a Flames jersey at the Heritage Classic right?
Btw, loved that shot of AK and Gomez amicably chatting on the bench while their teammates where getting beaten into submission.
I just can’t wait for the crying about how terrible the team is tomorrow. It’s gonna be EPIC I tell you!
Yep, we’ve learned that we need a completely new team. That this one has finally been exposed for the fraud that it is.
I saw that too. That was inexcusable. I can’t believe they didn’t stop that. There was an official near that as well.
lol cowboy hats generally do, its a east west thing i guess… i see the hat and i get worried you wanna stomp big city liberals with their fast cars and books and stuffs
i mean no disrespect, natural instinct
Man plecks is feeling the same way PK is the bruins are keying on him hitting him every chance they get . i mean lets face it montreal has only several wepons to eliminate and pleks is one of them.. watch how much they hit him in the 3rd, to contrast look to see how often gomez gets hit.. nil because he floates its pathetic..

Like this sorry one:
This is possibly the most ill-informed post in the history of the site. And that’s no small feat. Congrats.
Loved watching Moen fill Ference after that gutless slash.
what ever it is you do for a day job keep at it pal… hahah..jeeze
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
Even though this game is very entertaining … its for a very different reason. I completely agree, the Habs look like their literally playing pick up hockey … seriously, how do they allow the 5th and 6th goal?
I feel like Im watching my monday night beer league game.
So who’s pumped for the Islanders tomorrow night?
- In Price We Trust
God I wanted to get out there and fight too lol….amazing game don’t know about you guys, despite the loss

On the bright side we have a perfect excuse for mailing it in tomorrow too. Beaten, battered and bruised – a perfect excuse.

what an embarrassing f—ing game. i have not seen a game like this in along time and had a bad feeling about tonight. for the most part our players were pushed around. what a joke, i could careless about the goals but being pushed around drives me nuts.

take along long look Gauthier.

Go Habs Go!
you cant blame any habs tonight, except for gommez and ak, i dont care if they lose, but these guys dont back down
About the only good news to come out of this game is that, after going 0 for 23 before tonight, Habs scored 4 power play goals
Thomas’ GAA and SV% continue to take a nosedive. Love it.
Don’t worry, just checked. Sky isnt falling, Habs will be fine. One game, thats all it is. Everyone needs to take it easy

(Ok, mod, let me paraphrase)
No, no… Tonight it’s this team that is F’ing (see, using same word as above) that is pathetic.
(Better, mods?)
This could get nasty, what happens if there is another penalty, there’s no room in the boxes? lol
Hilarious only ever seeing you post after a loss.
Please, do go on.
The Price/Thomas fight was like a fricken Monty Python skit!
Thomas: “Hey Dude, it’s a brawl, I think we’re supposed to be fighting each other”
Price: “Ya I know, but I’m having a great season, last thing I want to do is hurt my hand beating up a guy twice my age”
Thomas: “I’m having a great season to, let’s just wrestle around for a bit and maybe they’ll think we’re fighting”
Price: “Cool”
If I remember correctly, the bowling thing didn’t work out so well. But you are right, it is only one game , but I hope they remember this one for a while, and I REALLY hope when March 8th rolls around that it seems like yesterday to them.

LOL best game ever.
They should really pull Thomas, he’s playing god awful and was unfocused enough to skate the length of the ice for a fight.
The most redeeming quality of this game has been the RDS cameramen show all of the hot Hab fans in the crowd.
That’s why he’s a +2 eh?
I noticed that too … they seriously need to get rid of McGuire.

I NEVER call out any Canadien, but AK makes me sick right now!
They Call Me Shane
Hopefully this game doesn’t mess with Prices long term confidence, he should have been pulled at 5-3 or 6-4.
Thomas is shaken. We can get to him for sure.
Ryder is a perfect exsample of why the HNL should have drug testing no FW this guy ever skated this well.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
More and more teams are going to play Habs this way…
Ok good response haha, now go get another one annnd another one
So who fights, scores goals, and is available at the trade deadline for AK and a bag of pucks?
Price hasn’t been good. But holy sh*t, the coverage has been worse.
No it isnt, it’s not for everybody. But that doesn’t mean it’s BS

Say whatever you want about Pyatt but he didn’t back down. Nor did he fall down. I give him full marks for trying.
What reverse Boone jinx?
BRAWL!!! Goalie fight! Crazy scoring!
This loss will hurt.
Just saw the clip of the All-Star game with Pricey and Timmy the Tuna. Pricey trying to be a nice guy and Timmy with the stupid grin on his face.
GOOD
According to Pierre this is all because Price and Thomas played on differen’t teams at the allstar game, WTF?
We’re done now. Just a horribly defensive effort. I mean 8 GOAL for crying out loud! Not all Pricey’s fault tonight.

I’m punkster and I endorse this message.

Thomas crossed centre and Marchand with an elbow to the head – Boston should be minimum two guys down.
whats with the doom and gloom, “good old fashion ass-kicking” BS
anything and everything did happen in that game – it could have easily been 8-6 for montreal
all of that nonsense at the end of the game was just that – nonsense. thuggery from the bruins and montreal doing whatever they could with the little they had
Pouliot reminded me of Robinson tonight. That kid has so much untapped talent.

I hope they have energy tomorrow night…
Claude Julien is a clown and a scumbag. I was glad when he got fired by the Habs and I’m just as glad every time the Habs beat him and eveyr time the Bruins choke in the playoffs.
Has there ever been a game between the Habs and Bruins that that fat, bald walking phallus hasn’t put goons on in the last minute? Hammer and Spacek are old veterans, not scrappers, and have been in the league too long to have to get jumped like that.
Julien deserves to get mugged. He’s got no class, no brains, and no guts.

Even the female Booin fans look like cretins. Kinda reminds me of Deliverance that fanbase.
What the heck can we do against a good team without Markov, Gorges, Cammi, Gomez and AK????
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Ok, can we go back to boring 2 – 1 hockey now !?
It really was a disgrace and there were officials near that and also near Spacek which clearly should have been broken up earlier as well as the guy who jumped Hamrlik when he was already on the ground. Disgusting.
Funny that the guys who weren’t involved at all were Gomez and AK
Pleks has been underwhelming this game.
And as usual when going get’s tough, plekanec is TOTALLY invisible..
He should, but I doubt he’ll get one.

Thomas has to be ejected. If they let that go, I’ll be even more pissed.
TSN newsbreak…Big trade
The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Michal Frolik and Alexander Salak from the Florida Panthers for Jack Skille, Hugh Jessiman and David Pacan on Wednesday
if he does not score he is not worth anything to us unless he replaces moen, pyatt on the fourth line and we get a player who can score goals in big games and produces in the playoffs..
Both goalies had no fight strap tied down. That’s a misconduct. :/ Dunno what they’re going to do.
Pond hockey with your local neighborhood thugs.
Sure, Gomez says it but doesn’t mean it and AK just doesn’t give a shit.
He should, whether the stripes get it is another question
Yeah. If you told me going in that they’d score 5 on Thomas, I would have called it a gimme and had gone to the movies!
should we start talking about a reffing conspiracy or just sit back and watch the rest of this football game?
fearless prediction: its going to be another crazy period…Thomas will let a few more in…and Price will be hung out to dry for another 20 minutes
hold on to your butts!
We better get a PP
I agree with everyone that the team is playing awful defensively tonight…but I do not see how they are being pushed around…when you say “pushed around”, you imply no fight back nor response…I see the Habs dropping the gloves and mixing it up and not backing down….how is that being “pushed around”?
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
TSN even thought it was a penalty. Well at least Gord Miller. Not so much Pierre the Hab Hater McGuire.
JM and Julien might have to start coaching from the boxes
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Okay, so basically, as things start back up, it’s exactly how we began this period: down by two. We can clearly do this.
I agree. Pouliot had some common decency which seems to be completely absent from Bruins players. Total cheap shot artists.
Congratulating Thomas for Carey Price being nice and not taking him apart, why not.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
He played at Boston College to boot.
Julien will get his just desserts – as always - come playoff time.
Price should’ve roped Timmy while he was down.
I liked the game, not sure why everyone else is so bitchy about it.
Didn’t Pouliot injure his hand last year from a fight. I was cringing while watching him tussle.
Were are taking about today’s NHL Refs here! He should be gone
White and Conboy, as you mention below.
Habs can buy some grit but I think some of it remains on the farm. Pens got Aaron Asham for cheap this year and looking at it, Habs should’ve picked him up rather than drop cash on Pyatt. There will be a guy like him available in the offseason the Canadiens should be able to pick up.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
I think Price vs. Thomas was done more for show than anything else. They didn’t really look like they wanted to go at it.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
too emotional HH
you raise valid points, we need some pwnage when it comes to knuckles, fact is, hell of a game, were still clearly in thomas’s head and at the end of the day, we finnish the season 3-1 against them
would you have taken that goin into the season?
And they wonder why people (some people) around the world hate them so much.
Carey Price 1-0 in fights!
I hope PK demos Marchand again once he steps back on the ice. Hitting on an icing is so gutless, fits right into the Boston mantra. Yellow is the right colour for them
can you just stop? he has a minor league defense in front of him every night and tonight he just can’t stop every thing thrown at him. he leads the league in shots faced and saves. meanwhile, saint jaro has a 2.58 and .909 playing behind one of the best young defenses in the league.
should have kicked his ass Carey. Show’s how classy Price is.
That wasn’t even a hockey game… I could barely watch it was so bad.
Gotta take something out of this. Can’t just fold up tent.
Good move by Price, saves is hand and shows some class. Plus the Bruins can continue the game with a backup in nets, we can’t, Rask > Auld. I guess they’re not calling that a fight, because usually when goalies fight they get thrown out, especially Thomas, who made the trip for it.
Wake up to reality….TOO SMALL=NO CUP……..bottom line…….
not a night to pad carey’s nice GAA and SP totals, eh boys?
lol, my dog usually watches the game with me. He’s gone to the master bedroom.
Some reminders about tonight:
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Yeah because Boston does so well against Montreal in the playoffs. With Thomas as their goalie they don’t stand a chance. On a normal night Montreal has this in the bag as Price usually doesn’t give up six
Crazy, crazy game….
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
***Subbang!!!***
Now that was 20 minutes of hockey eh?
Go Habs Go!
Why didn’t Gomer chop!! Wow, she’s cutting loose now!! GO PRICEY!!!
+1
This is crazy! 4 each in the box. C’mon Habs win this f’n game
Been a Habs fan since I was in 2nd grade and sat behind Patrick Roy at the Aud.
Subban drives me crazy … 15 secs left and runs the clock … as if we’re not down by 2
HIO is gonna meltdown!
Does Thomas get an extra penalty for skating across the centre ice line to join a fight?
In contrast, we lose a big game and it’s the apocalypse right Timo? Weren’t you saying the same drivel all last year too?
It happens to the best of ‘em, but … yeah.
Thomas’s jersey wasn’t tied down kick him out
WOW! What is going on!!!
eller looked good after a slow 20 games but now he is just not contriibuting…he looks like has run out of gas…for the remainder of the season a moore or even a lupul type player pick up would add more to the team…eller will be much better next year but i dont think he can add much to the team for the rest of the year
He’s big, he’s bald….
Price could’ve landed a couple on Thomas but he didn’t. Good man, saved his hand.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
WOW! What is going on!!!
Price should have pounded Floppy!
Game over…
Timmy the Tuna, floppin around like a fish.
hell yeah it was creepy how predictable the goals were on both ends, this was one for the ages, boo hoo were 3-1 against our mortal enemy this season, posters here need to fricking relax over a 2-0 game, nothing to wite home about for the bruins considering how price spared timmy
Gomez is -4 with no face-offs won and one dumb penalty. What’s he here for?
And you know who started all that? Yup, our captain. Brian Gionta. Wish Price tagged Thomas with at least one dirty shot though. And yep, Thomas should be gone.
Doesn’t Thomas get an automatic ejection for crossing the red line?
pricey and thomas pretty much hugged it out
A USA chant? Come on. Most of the Bruins roster is Canadian. And our captain is American. Idiots.
I’m watching this game, and I’m so pumped I just wanna go flip over a car!! ARGHHHH
“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.” – Bilbo Baggins
So, this game was looking like the NBA for a while there, undoubtedly making both coaches soil themselves.
Not sure if you can call that much of a “brawl”, but it looks like the tradeoff of which team sends what players to the box will favour them.
Real classy by Chara going after MaxPac well away from the actual tussle. Hopefully one of the refs caught that, although I doubt they did.
How is that not a penalty? That’s worse than a slewfoot.
Regan SMAAASH!!!!
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
These Beantown bums can still be beaten.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
He sure ain’t right. Maybe a bit leftist but definitely not right.
I like this guy.
http://www.johnnygoodtimes.com/liberal.jpg
***Subbang!!!***
Was that not hitting from behind on Wisniewski? Also, pretty sure Pacioretty got slashed.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
GOOD FIGHTS GOOD GAME, but how in the hell does Moen get a 10 min misconduct and Boston nothing close…
ALL THE FIGHTING and look at our minutes vs their minutes….
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Maybe we could use a few more scrappers that can score. How about scorers that can scrap?
What ever happened to more scoring punch and punch scoring?
nah just make sure they don’t play on the same line. They both know they screwed up tonight “Tell him he’s Wayne Gretzky.” – Oilers coach Ted Green, after Shaun Van Allen suffered a concussion and couldn’t remember who he was.
Ridiculous. I hate hockey when it’s like this.
AK46 on ice for 4 goals……………
hey gauthier get some muscle for christ sake…
arghhh.
USA what a joke…lol..
Carey’s one tuff dude, OLD TYME HOCKEY!!!! haha
Wow the same team that called the Habs a cheap team. Go F*** yourselves bruins!!!
I don’t know what this is, but it sure as hell isn’t a hockey game.
They’re going to need to expand the penalty box.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Price to Tomas after he pulled his jersey… “That was some superbowl, eh?”
The System can always adjust. Just takes a bit of time.
***Subbang!!!***
Will the server hold up for the rest of the night?
Suggestion to the Gazette: cut Jack Todd’s salary, he’s a useless hack anyway. Use the freed up cash to spend on further upgrading the server.
Good timeout here.
Gomez and AK46 suck tonight, I can overlook gomez on the offense, but his defense is horrible gtonight, AK46, well he is a dog
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
enjoy being punched out? slapped around, facewashed…this is nothing, wait till the playoffs.
bring up white, shultz and henry now…. we are sickening and weak.
Thomas should get ejected right?
11.5 mil sitting on the bench
turn off your CAPS and learn the difference between “there” and “they’re”
Was that the bench or the penalty box?
Martin looks like he put an extra coating of Kiwi Shoe Polish in his hair tonight. Extra glossy.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
This game is so much fun. Who cares who wins. hahahaha
Not to worry. Gomez will crack a few jokes and the media will be all happy again praising this team.
Anyone but him, that was in the net
Holy crap! Funny shit that…
its funny that when it just showed the benched gomez line on the bench.. he was having a laugh with kotitsyn….. brutal.
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
This has not been Price’s best night.
Its true, that’s why johnson was kicked out when he fought dipietro. But then again, thomas looks shaky so maybe its better he stays in.
PRICE!!!!!
He’s rich, but he can’t play defense
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Yeah, what is with the slow goal annoucements?Or are they just “slow” in Boston?
look at it this way: maybe all of the guys playing crummy defense are in the penalty box.
What a game!!
I completely agree, I didn’t think anyone else saw that. That should be big-time suspension, or sent to his room without dinner at the least. Kidding aside, using a weapon repeatedly on a guy’s face is dispicable, I hope it is dealt with, but it likely won’t.
gomez, eller, and AK46 – horrible…pleks – invisible
everything else can just be considered a crazy hockey game
Moen hands of stone
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
I think technically perhaps they both might based on the rule.
Go Habs Go!
Try defense
Geez, Pierre’s really lobbying for the Bruins. Do they have some sort of opening in their front office? Fart Catcher to Chiarelli? Chief banana procurement officer for Cam The Ape Neely?
the guy who fought Pyatt has suspension immunity…
Pyrite passes too Stoen.
Moen needs to stand 6 feet from the net and practice for an hour a day at just shoveling pucks into the yawning cage. He is absolutely useless with the puck on his stick, unless Gonchar is standing in front of him.
AK is -4 at the moment
Old-Time Habs/Booins hockey game. Just like back in the good ole 70′s!!!
Beware, Timo. I think the sky may be about to fall.
GOMEZ is not my friend tongiht….He needs two goals to make it up to me…And they better be TONIGHT.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
LOVE IT!!!!!
Go Habs Go!
Moi thinks someone found the firecracker.
The only two players of theirs who were interested in a straight up fight got pounded. Ference and Thomas.
I highly doubt that Thomas stat is adjusted to reflect tonight
My wife’s an ICU nurse, she’s at work now, I may be there to visit her soon.
sweet
More from NESN: “Did Marchand know it was going to be icing? And did he hear the whistle?”
Like it F. matters?
F@ck them Bruins…
Gomez & AK46 really showed their stripes tonight…Molson needs to buy out their sorry ass contracts since no team in their right mind would take guys with no heart…
Typical Price getting blamed
Why the hell does that guy have to turn into a corner-picking-sniper tonight of all nights.
DD
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
Love it, glad I decided to grab a case of beer for this one!
all hab fans get frustrated after a game like this but maybe we should give credit to the coaches and most of the players on the team at where we are in the standings…really on paper our line up is not that great..we love many of the players because they play for the habs…but what would we really say if our forward line up was called the leafs flyers or bruins i think there would be many negative comments
R U serious? What more can Price do?
Not goin down without a fight muthertruckers!!
If he had any freakin D to help him!
Flopper getting fustrated. Go for the kill Habs!
MAN GOMEZ IS AWESOME!!! barf.
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“ Guy Lafleur.
This has got to be the worse defensive effort of the season by far!!!
liquid therapy.
i hate the fact that we have limited push back…christ having gionta leading the way.
pissed.
Neither was Price’s.
What a waste of great tending by Price!
Double-D – nice.
I think the final score of this game could be 10-9 by the way it’s going.
why did Chara get tossed for third man in?
“Without the strength of the past, the team may face a choice – to win, or to be French-Canadian?” — Ken Dryden
Wow. 2 on pac. Then 3.
OSHIT
lmao! i feel bad for the announcer.
Wow. 2 on pac. Then 3.
OSHIT
The biggest team in the NHL is the Washington Capitals, I believe. Is their excuse for not winning the Cup that they’re too big? Come on. Size isn’t everything.
Go Habs Go!
Price the BEST tender tonight hands down!
Doesn’t even deserve 5 minutes. (Price and Thomas that is.)
FFS!!!!!!
“Without the strength of the past, the team may face a choice – to win, or to be French-Canadian?” — Ken Dryden
Look at the penalty boxes! Wow!!!
Go Habs Go!
Agreed, that’s why I said untapped.
Eller is awful.go get the puck
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Carey’s come unravelled in this one
Every effort needs to be done to grab Yemelin next season, if he’s patrolling the blue line opposing teams will feel a lot less comfortable going in knowing that he’s ready to put them in his sights with a big hit.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Scared
ok, so were lookin at a 3 GAA for pricey with a 890 save percentage, up from 2.32 and .922 this morning
I love how our lil guy’s are trying but the Booins are too big …a seven game series would be a disaster for our Habs against this team with playoff rules!
Last year he was a skinny kid who kept falling down. He’s beefed up since and seems to have learned a trick or two. And that long reach..wow.
LOL, USA?
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
if anyone cares, another PPG for SK74
sadly i agree…
The clowns in Boston chanting “USA” when the Habs have more Americans on their roster than the Bruins.
PK cant skate backwards
Are they really chanting USA?
Weak.
Disagree. As I posted below, this team went to war together. They may have come out of it with some bruises and scrapes but they gave as good as they got. They lost the game but I think that ultimately the score became secondary to the level of pride in the crest on the front and in their fellow men wearing them.
Go Habs Go!
You are the last person who should be telling anybody to shut up. You lost a bet and shouldn’t even be here,if you had any pride you would have sucked it up lived with the consequences of having a big yap. Instead you pull the gutless coward card and come back under a different user name.
The Habs won’t come back no more. The Broons got the monkey off their backs!
Impact players in the playoffs? Benny is a “maybe” at best. AK46? That would be a “miracle.” How many years does he get to show he can produce? Ain’t gonna happen with him.
Talk about an intense second period. what is going on! lol
Those guys kept on playing, kept on fighting long after the old Habs would have collapsed. They will endure, I feel sorry for the NYI tommorow honestly.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Americans are stupid. Chanting USA… when the Habs have more American players than the Bruins.
Mike Murphy will handle all this mess since it involves Campbell’s little boy. Not that it matters much. I don’t expect a suspension.
Ok make it a one goal game again
if I told you the habs will score 6 …. win right?
If boston goes ahead by another it will turn into a bigger freak show than it is. Only hope for no injuries.
bruins are a f-ng JOKE !
USA? Are you f. serious? AMURIKA YEAH.
Bruins are literally worse than the Flyers have been this season.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Not to worry… should we squeak past the Islanders tomorrow things will be pink and rosy again in the Habsland.
K folks, it’s basically a 2-0 game. Habs should re-group in the third and play a sound defensive game. By that I mean, benck AK46 and Gomer.
This makes me hate Georges Laraque that much more that goddamn thief.
i like niel, but it would help to get another thoughie, (backes , malone or downie, cole or boll), we should aslo call up white(what the hell is pyatt doing here) and henry, and conboy
Bruins troglodyte fans chanting USA, USA. How many Canadiens on the Bruins? and how many Americans on the Habs?
“Kostitsyn and Gomez looking unconcerned”
God how I wish we could package them up for some half descent centre with a bit of size!
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Gomez is a total P.O.S. at his salary. I use to think Gainey was smart.
And the team captain is Slovakian. Still, nothing tops “God Bless America” with the Flyers and 14-15 Canadians on their roster.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Carey Price just gave a chick his goalie stick as he was leaving the ice.
Americans are stupid. Chanting USA… when the Habs have more American players than the Bruins.
Make the freakin D walk back to Montreal JM!
Love how server issues haven’t been fixed yet.
Exactly right. Hopefully there will be some suspensions for the BS that just went down however.
you should go crawl back under your bridge
- In Price We Trust
Easy now my friend, lets just say Boston fans are idiots, K
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
again, tonight (and btw, I appreciate not name calling me) the ridiculous, pathetic is the Habs. Nothing I do or say can be more ridiculous that this team.
Again, appreciate the civility in your tone.
You say slew foot? NESN says “Little knock-down”. Please. Save me.
Hey PG … maybe now invest in a enforcer? Did you get a close up of the blood gushing from Spaceks and Pyatts face??
Game would have been close if Weber didn’t tuck his tail between his legs on that 6th goal. Total turnover and left Lucic in the slot.
OK you know what? They lost the game tonight. A couple of our guys got pounded. But they all hung in there and they all stuck up for one another. We may have just seen the best team building exercise since Carbo took them bowling.
Go Habs Go!
-4? Wow… those are MAB numbers.
He should have gave to Lucchicken in the teeth!
Shutup you ignorant fool.
we may not see this type of high scoring game involving the habs for another year…i think it is time to admit that while ak46 may become a better player with another team there is no reason to keep him just because of that…sorry this guy has no grit and effort…he will be invisible in the playoffs …it is also time to upgrade pyatt he provides no scoring and his d is getting worse…gion gives full effort and i wish pouliot would have some of that…darche and dd gave full effort and same with maxpac…
NAW, that would be too good a question
Like the all-star game on acid
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
No… tonight Habs are a f-ng joke. If Habs did this to the Bruins, how many would be calling them a joke?
plecks has not played today to the level you expect your top forward to play in a big game…ak46 and pouliot lack the grit and effort to contribute in games like this…they both disappeared last year in the playoffs and we can pretty well expect the same this year…
That’s Lucic, bravest man there ever was when a back is turned, I remember he and a teammate hauling Komisarek down from behind and trying to curb-stomp him essentially in the final RS BOS-MTL game of the 2008-2009 season.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Easy with the panic button there, sport.
We’ll see what happens next time around.
Go Habs Go!
amen
dont worry your wrong
Being the more mature adult of the two of us I’ll only say…PFFFFFTTTTT!!!
***Subbang!!!***
I just wish price was kicking ass in play and not in fist a cuffs
JM (Mr. emotion) needs to knock some sense into this team
ZERO DEFENCE …
There ought to be a law… against the NESN announcers.
Yesss!
Great goal.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
wonder what will come of gomez and ak46
i feel bad for eller being stuck with those 2 bums.
they were just sitting there laughing and talking while the rest of the team was working there asses off and fighting back.
and scott gomez has an “A” on his shirt?!?!? this is an insult to gill, gionta, pleks, gorges, markov
you name it.
Gomez a leader… would a leader play this badly in a 4 point game? would a leader sit back on the bench and joke around with another underperforming underacheiving player…
name me one time when koivu, gionta, markov, gill were sitting on the bench laughing it up in a game like this after playing so poorly?
is there any professional pride left in thsoe 2…
i would be humiliated sitting on the bench watching teammate after teammate being involved and fighting for every inch of ice or against someone else..
pathetic… i said earlier that unless Gomez has an amazing playoff run.. this season is a failure of epic proprtions for him… even ignoring the paycheck… he is brought in for a purpose and all too many times he has underachieved and not answered the bell
as for ak46.. well when one of your supposed assistant captain’s and top centers is joking around with you, well not much of an example is being set.
although at his stage ak46 should know what is expected of him and shouldn’t beed constant motivation
sorry for the rant guys
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
Frolik is the biggest name (Jessiman clearly the biggest bust), but don’t overlook Salak. Markstrom was clearly the goalie of the future in Florida, but if Salak pans out, the Hawks have a good young goaltending duo going forward in Crawford/Salak.
TT’s save percentage continues to die…love it.
So what are the bets for the amount of suspensions for the game? I say zero.
Geez… I dare you to find one that’s even 50% his fault.
Milbury and the rest of the muppets on NESN laugh about Max-Pac going down and how Chara allowed “retribution”. Hard not to rage.
Bruins idiots…WTF…just call tha game
Nice patches…keepo your cool while getting mugged by the idiot and then score…Nice.
is gomez benched for the third..
haven’t seen him yet
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
Make it closer Habs!
Just mone of those games.TT 1.94 goals against. Not tonite
My wife works nights so she wakes up with the score 2-1, pours her first cup of coffee, sits down and sees goal after goal goal after goal, Price battles Thomas, goal after goal after goal, then looks into her coffee cup and asks, ‘what did you put in my coffee?”
Time to pour myself a stiff one.
THAT’S how you answer their goon shit!
Lucic(2), Ryder(2),Price allowing (7),AK and Gomerz decomposing….this seesaw is making me sick …I’m done.
Meh. I skimmed over most of it, but got enough of it to see that it’s par for the course from you.
Nice goal. Not a bad way to finish this.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
What is that taco bell eating SOB grinning about?
SK with his 15th goal. Gomez?
Milbury says it’s old time hockey played as it should be.
“you’re”
What a bunch of F***ing goons!
When you score 5 goals on 2010-2011 Tim Thomas…you SHOULD win the game.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
I think Eller will be a good player, but he’s not right now, bring up White and send Eller down. Lucic 2nd goal is on Eller IMO. This game seems a bit fast for him and he cant keep up.
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
That was awesome!!
Benny KOed Ferrence!
Great stuff.
Spatch got owned, but what the hell.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
I remember Marchand from high school. Tool.
Full Breezer 4 Life
Yep, Gomez with the hat-trick
In his book, Theoren Fleury calls the Hammer a pussy. I wonder what he thought of Spatch?
I haven’t seen Pleks look so out of a game in a long time. PK’s worst effort in a “big” game.
tom pyatt with the shootout winner
Hmm.. well, old time hockey and we answered the bell. That’s a big plus for me–looks like character to me.
Gomez is in very big trouble, and deserves it. AK is crap but that’s a known. JM can sit him for game for my money. I hope he gets called out by his teammates–Gio especially.
Funny how you only turn up here during games like this. F’ing pathetic.
Benoit Brunet never had any place in the top six either.
Really Bill? That’s a ridiculous statement. This is a aberration of a game, nothing more.
Come on Habs! We’re not done yet! Let’s shut-up this cretinous Booin crowd! GO HABS GO!!!
NO, I wish the Habs had some D tonight!
Like I said below – 3 -4 players are giving their all – PK, Desharnais, Darche, maybe Pouliot… the rest is just brutal. Absolutely brutal. And as usual the highest paid players are leading the suckfest.
SF09: best poster on HI/O
Marchand is a very dirty player.
There’s drugs that’ll help your problem.
Odd though. Possibly their worst game of the season yet they’ve scored 5 goals against the best. Go figure.
***Subbang!!!***
PATCHES!!!!!!!!!
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
yeah, mmmmm ok whatever. He has the players and he uses them.
Hammer and Spacek are old veterans. Sorry to hear that. I guess no one knew right ?
It doesn’t matter.
“A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject”–Winston Churchill
We haven’t been able to tie the game since the begining of the second period. Not the best stat.
Great job by Wiz to recognize that Chara had tripped. Pricey with an assist.
He’s also a professional liar.
This is beyond stupid. Beyond stupid.
This is the absolute last game you criticize a goaltender in, first and foremost. More importantly still, considering that goaltender is the only reason your team even hung around long enough to make it as much of a game it is, you ought to keep your mouth shut. Something this completely inane has no place anywhere.
C”MON Pleks no time to play like a little girl now!
So many horrible d-zone lapses.
Go Habs Go!
And it’s a 1 goal game again!
Go Habs Go!
No D at all today
…because of the wonderful Wiz he is.
Your wrong, it’ll make them stronger
This team sucks!!!
Ok, Price… stop going down so quickly. Ryder had ALL DAY to put that top shelf.
$5 to someone who can provide me with a still of recchi sitting on chara’s lap
Serious: those are excellent points, but I fear your voice of reason is wasted tonight.
F@3$ what is with these guys tonight?
Oh gee wonder if that was a dive, give me a fuckin break
Oh PK.
***Subbang!!!***
Weak penalty kill, real even-up referee BS. Even so, I don’t think Jacques will have DD back on the ice any week soon…
Full Breezer 4 Life
We’re down by two and Ryder has two. This one’s still on Boone.
What a BS penalty. If he’s going to go down that easy, it’s a dive. DD is 5’6″, FFS.
Gawd I hate these guys.
I don’t have anything against Horton besides him being a Bruin, but the guy has a lot of talent and he’s not using it well. Curse of the Panthers continues to follow players around, you play there for a few years and you don’t have any NHL success after you leave for the most part.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
if suspensions ar enot handed out after this game… the nhl is even more a joke then i thought
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
#### CAREY PRICE …. I dont care how bad the team in front is … thats 7 GOALS AGAINST!
No chance in hell could they have allowed that. Good call.
Go Habs Go!
The B’s are just head-hunting now…McQuaid on Pax?
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
FACK
effing right it’s no good.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
I really really hope Gainey and Gauthier will never ever be allowed near this team again. Morons that ruined it.
Missed coverage tonight is just brutal!
That’s a TERRIBLE call.
McQuaid better get a game for that. That’s so f*cking stupid.
And another dirty hit on Pouliot.
Wow they actually got one right on goalie interference, give yourselves a hand
Why doesn’t the instigator apply to Boston? Oh right Colin Cambell’s son play’s for them.
At some point some saves need to be made.
your hat frightens me
There’s no way MaxPac deserves a minute. Boston Goons – total assholes – total idiots. No way they have a sniff at the Cup – far too stupid.
Damn, ya wish Price could have got a couple of those he shoulda had
Finally, a fortunate call.
That’s what broons fans come out to see.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
Habs should have played this game with a revolver. That way they would have only shot themselves in the foot six times.
Let the conspiracy theory that the refs are in the Habs’ pocket start all over the Internet besides here…
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
So I guess Pyatt is going to get suspended now
- In Price We Trust
honestly … that habs have battled back 5 times … and the last line of defence … the goaltender has failed miserably
Good call. Weber nudged Marchand and Marchand took that as an opportunity to run into Price.
Shut it Claude.
If Boston doesnt get fined for this, I dont know what to say. Ridiculous to do that being up by 3 with less than a minute.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Oh my goodness, the Habs are so, so bad.
Remember what Lucik did to Komisarek? That’s what the Bruins are doing to the Habs as a whole tonight.
Tonight … wow they look a horrible team from the first line all the way back to the goalie.
Full Breezer 4 Life
Sit down Neely you oger, clearly that was the right call
So, at least before we could count on more less solid D to compensate for losers like Gomez and Co not scoring. Now what? What is this team going to do now? Can The System adjust?
All of Boston is incredibly insecure right now: Julien, Neely, the TD crowd etc. Never mind that they’re still winning.
Paranoid much Bruins? Is it because we always own you?
I have never been more embarrassed in my entire life I think. What a pathetic collection.
gomez, moen, pyatt, darche
would not have scored a goal like that
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
Hide the knives
Time to get some fighters on this damn team this is BS.
I think I’ve only seen one he should have had.
How are the Bruins not penalized for either goalie interference or grabbing Plekanec’s stick?
Spacek just got killed, not good. Pyatt too…holy crap that face is mangled.
so do the bruins not know how to stay up on their skates..
and wtf.. no savees and no defence
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
I don’t know what to say to that, lol.
Dude, if you post my bail, and fly me down there, I’ll hit all 3 of them in a heartbeat.
Over.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
Remember the meds, and it will all be okay.
Game nights are always a gong show when the team loses. But this one is going to amplify the craziness through tomorrow as well.
All teams have games like this. The Habs will pick themselves up, dust themselves off and move on. Pretty much all you can do.
Hey boone, if you ever read these, that “soft hit” on Giota was what I call a good hit. :S
It was clean, and it was to seperate him from the puck. Looked like a solid check to me.
… me too.
There aren’t enough shots of Cam The Ape Neely eating bananas in the box tonight.
Let neely put on a Jersey. Baffoon
pick one goal that was 100% his fault……..
Thornton/Campbell/Boychuk = cowardly scum. Railing on players who never fight, even when the refs have stepped in.
It’s a moot point whether or not Marchand was pushed or not. Marchand was going to hit Price no matter what.
I’d sit Gomez. I’ve supported him for most of the season but tonight he’s stinking up the joint.
Maybe tomorrow. Not tonight.
***Subbang!!!***
I hated Gomez in NY & I hate him in Montreal
thats for all the missed calls earlier
THERE TAKING THIS AS A JOKE … PRICE WTF
If Subban was more worried about coverage while shorthaned rather than going back at Marchand, well I guess hell learn
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Yeah man! So tonight’s not our night, but remember, you can’t spell “Habs Bitches” without a big ole Boston B!
It was not interference…Weber threw Bergeron into Price…unless the ref saw Weber’s hit as incidental.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
What has happened to our defense tonight?
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Well…when the offence puts up 5 goals, we cannot blame the offence…so tonight, it is goaltending and defence.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Lessons learned – Benny is our best fighter. Wow what a punch.
finally a call on our way
Stoopid Brooins!
Habs finally score 5 goals i one game… and they let 7 in!!!! WTF!?!?!?
Please bench the Gomez line – they are terrible!
gotta love the bruins goons being on, while the habs have spacek, plekanec, pyatt and hamrlik on. Real classy bruins. Either way, how embarassing and stupid
LOL, Julien is going to have a heart attack
I’d have to say three goals against were stoppable
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
I am so sad and embarressed … poor pyatt
Give Julien a penalty too.
Go Habs Go!
This freakin D is going to give me a heart attack!
Just stop talking. You haven’t anything close to a clue. Carey Price is the only reason the Canadiens weren’t buried four or five to nothing after the first period.
I guess Boston had 3 fighters on at the end because…why? Maybe because of what happened to Krecji…
Great call for one this season!
I’ve never seen AK initiate a conversation on the bench and he just did with Gomez??????
“Start the season with a clean equipment bag and a freah bucket of febreze!”-CharlieHodgeFan
It was a great game. But man it really stings. The smiles on the faces of the Bruins really make me want to puke.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Yes,.. yes it was. I recognize her too
Oh for crying out loud.
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
Someone needs to fill Marchand in, he’s taking runs at everyone
Habs will HAVE to respond on March 9th. I am VERY much looking forward to the next game at the Bell Centre!
You can’t touch Daddy’s boy!
F*CK.
We needed Camalleri.
Gotta kill this!

I’m not sure how DD gets the physical upper hand on ANY Bruin, but whatever…
WHAT IS WRONG WITH WEBBER?
If Gill is down on the ice, covering the bottom part of the net, what is Price also doing on his knees?
This is pond hockey. Bad pond hockey.
Ok I love my team but …..Gauthier and Gainey you f’d up !What did you think would happen ??? Get some fracking size and fighters on this Habs team ! ENOUGH of this BS !
I know it doesn’t count, but WTF is the D doing??
PLAY SOME GOD DAMN DEFENSE!!!
LMAO HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Being Bruins’ b!tches tonight doesn’t even begin to describe it.
K boys, kill this off
Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Habs.
We should probably just give up, I’m tired of getting happy then sad….. then happy…. then sad
Fire Pierre Gauthier……
im with you here broseff
I do agree that Price would’ve cleaned his clock, though.
What I would give to have the HBO 24/7 access, a full hour episode, for this game and this game only. It would be amazing.
haha boone, killing his stats is an understatement, hell be up there with craig anderson tomorrow
I give that a 9.4 – 0.6 deduction for the landing.
F. Brooooooooooodle.
It HAD to be our old timers out on the ice to have to deal with that shit. Absolute garbage.
One of the organizations biggest problems is taking to long evaluating talent. Ak46 would have never lasted on my team for more than two years if I was the GM. Pouliot also is a no brainer. DD is a good player but not on this team.
Where’s my blood-pressure meds…. crazy-ass game.
Right, and Alfie Turcotte would look pretty good out there too.
The Spacek and Pyatt beatings were payback for laying out Krejci…I hoped that Pyatt would have been a better fighter…
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Sigh… seriously, are there any brains on the ice at all?
AK has been bad tonight, gomez has been much worse. But those who are slagging on AK for blowing coverage on the 3rd bruins goal,ak is playing right wing the guy left open at the point belonged to whoever was playing left.
You can fight back against a gorilla, and still be “pushed around”. They are, at the very least, getting whipped and are clearly physically over-matched.
Full Breezer 4 Life
Well-played, sir.
Chara is such a donkey.
this is absurd.
Gomez is a human turnover.
Henry is out of his depth in the NHL, Schultz has a broken foot and hasn’t done anything this season in the A, maybe White but just to replace Pyatt and it’s not like’s going to solve the D issue. Do some research before throwing out names with high PIM counts.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Just plain ugly.
We need size and toughness…right now Pierre
So glad the Wiz is back!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Back at ya Booooooooooooooinss!!!!

- In Price We Trust
Ok good. Can we please not let in the next one?!
ok, serious question: price or auld tomorrow? maybe price to get the confidence back against the isles? or do you think he knows at this point that tonight has just been absurd?
my mother had to watch that … thanks PG … real tough team you got there
Winnable game.
Another Timmins flop Ben Maxwell, 49th overall. One spot ahead of Lucic.
IN YOUR FACE CHARA
Thank-You.
Now will Boston score twice… time to find out
The ghosts of Ken Dryden, Bobby Orr, Guy Lafleur? When did they die?
Time to turn off this game.
These guys are like the ’74 Flyers. Never content to just win, must also shed blood. Well, I guess this game might have some effect on PGs shopping list.
Haha Chara tripping over himself, way to go Wiz again that’s two great rushes in with the puck tonight leading to goals
PRICE 8 Goals against … enough said
Curse you Boston for having culturally relevant music to your city…House of Pain and Dropkick Murphy’s, I’m trying hard not to like the Bruins right now lol.

Everyone else minus, Gomez, AK46 and Eller at -4
Oh yeah, only Gio was in the pluses at +1
The Habs lost the mental battle and the physical one.
Everybody bitches about Lucic because he’s on the hated B’s but he’s exactly the kind of player we need. If he played for us, the fans would love him!
I agree with everyone that the team is playing awful defensively tonight…but I do not see how they are being pushed around…when you say “pushed around”, you imply no fight back nor response…I see the Habs dropping the gloves and mixing it up and not backing down….how is that being “pushed around”?
“I am guilty of using elipses…”

yeah it sucks, the crying should really be directed at gomez.. seriousloy laughing it up on the bench while being benched.. i seriously dont think it would be a bad decision to bench him for a bit.. he’s a punk

no chance, pyatt scores the shootout winner as the habs last possible shooter. The habs are down by one in the shootout but auld ties it up with a marek malik between the legs goal, then pyatt wins it with a linus omark spin move goal.

Must score on the PP right here. Of course if we do Boston might just score twice…worth a shot I guess
and while the habs have more american players than they do, which is incidentally also five
Yes … Price did not want to fight. Hit him once and said taht’s enough old man.
(My comments [both]re tongue in cheek)
Besides Philly, is there a more gutless team than Boston? I mean really?
Screw this Lucic BS. Can they bring up Henry to beat the crap out of him next game.

Anyone up for a BOS/MTL 3rd vs 6th playoff series?
3-on-1 on PK…Horton then Lucic jumps in to take down PK…and then Macquaid when PK is already on the ice? That is gutless…Horton vs. PK would have been fine since Horton gave the little shot…but the rest concentrating on him is cheap…I can understand because he is becoming an impact player..but 3-on-1 with a lot of cheap shots makes me think of the race card.

and I’m sure you’ll be there to thrill us all with your acumen.
Bruins are still getting away with a ton of interference and roughing.
I get how JM must feel about the Gomez line, but you have to question the wisdom of benching an entire line in the first game of back-to-backers. I suppose a message must be sent. Sigh.
The Auld-one in tomorrow?
Give ‘ol pound for pound Price a breather.
Iy will take Price the rest of the season to get his stats back down.
Time to put AK with DD and Darche. I don’t like him and Eller out on the same line, no chemistry whatsoever.
F*cking Bruins. They all deserve to be suspended for that.
Nah… overtime.
WHAT A GOON HOCKEY CLUB!!! WE NEED A FIGHTER NOW!!!
Is Pleks even playing tonight?
the Habs have been beaten.
First of all – hit the net from 10 ft away please Pouliot
Second – were gonna start handing out blame and calling it a loss already? Did you watch the 2nd period? I’d say a 2 goal comeback after that mess wouldnt be the craziest thing that could happen

I’m gonna call that it goes nowhere. No more goals.
OH FOR F. SAKES. Spatch wanted no part of that shit but there’s no way out. Like anyone thought that we were a team that could do this and come out on top.
I still do not see them being beaten up and run out of the rink…that would mean that they were not fighting back…they have not backed down all night, though.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
So here’s the deal on the goalie penalties:
Both Price and Thomas received fighting majors and minors for leaving the crease… which doesn’t make sense because the referee told Price to vacate his crease since the scrum was in his end.
Also, Thomas should have recieved another 2 minutes under the instigator rule for skating down the ice with the intent of starting a fight.
So maybe that guy Xtrahabsfan is onto something.
I liked the game too. Some people prefer to be bitchy and miserable I guess.
Kostitsyn knitting a sweater there?
F****g weasel Campbell pulls of Pyatt’s helmet – that’s suspendable – Oh, I forgot who his Dad is. What a bush league.
I’m sorry are games only 44 minutes long now?
Go Habs Go!
Every one of our players just got the crap kicked out of them. That was embarassing.
It is disgraceful but don’t expect the NHL to do much if anything. The best way to deal with goon hockey is on the ice, always has been, always will be. Remember when Robinson took on Schultz? That’s how you respond. Unfortunately, we don’t have anyone capable of filling that role.
The very site of AK makes me sick
i agree …we will not beat boston every game…very few teams sweep another team in the reg season…in the playoffs we know gion, cam plecks will perform..now they may get over worked and run out of gas by the 3rd round..but the key is still ak46 and pouliot because if they could become impact players in the playoffs we would be in great shape..but sadly i think both will have very poor scoring stats and yes their roll is to produce not just be grinders…as we have enough grinders…
AK46 is in a fog tonight, and that entire line as well.
Campbell throwing punches…with his elbow pad. That’s why Pyatt’s face was a mess.
I know they won’t and apparently can’t buy them out…but it is frustrating to watch on a night when the team is getting it’s ass kicked…7 mill plus buys a pretty good power forward who will step up in big games…
I approve.
Well tonight has been nothing short of a major disappointment and rather embarrassing.
Moen a 10 minute misconduct???????????
Stings a bit seeing Doug Jarvis sitting with the Boston brass.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya, you’re right, Moen deserves a 10 minute misconduct for trying to get Lucy to fight him instead of his goalie.
Habs acting like a bunch of pussies, no push-back whatsoever,
looks kinda like when we play against flyers in the playoffs.
PG needs to go out and get som size and nastiness me think,
i will puke if he trades talent or picks for Kaberle or something like that.
