I just read the story on TSN and am speechless and appalled. Just when you think Bettman can’t get any sleazier and cold hearted, he comes out with this arrogance and insensitivity.
Shame on him and I hope he enjoys his after life in eternal hell.
I won’t comment on the police charges, cause I am not a lawyer, but I will say that if I get in a fight outside a bar and punch someone in the nose, who then falls on a fire hydrant and breaks his neck, I am responsible criminally as well as in civil court. In a fight, both people may have a chance to defend his/herself. Something that was not the case in this instance. Just pointing out some facts, not saying the police investigation is right or wrong.
Sports leagues (really only hockey, because football takes care of its players quite well in comparision) are soon going to stop getting the benefit of the doubt as far as policing themselves and trying to regulate violence inside the arena. When people are not adequately taken care of safety wise and the guilty walk, that is when these police investigations will start, and quite frankly, the NHL deserves them(not jsut this instance)
He’s a clown that’s all. More and more obvious by the day. I can’t even resist expressing my opinions like I had in the past. Full vent mode lately with each dumbfounding statement from this blogger. Seems like a nice guy and a talented writer, but sports opinions are lame at best.
So if Spector is blaming Max for “poking the bear” can I reasonably assume that Spector has now “poked the legion of Hab fans across Canada and everywhere else!”.
Therefore, any Hab fan that sees Spector on a street, would be fully exhonerated of any wrong doing if said fan happen to bump into him. The results of such a bump or the details of what was involved in the bump are not required, but obviously the fan was avoiding stepping in a puddle when this bump occurred.
Obviously i jest (maybe), but what an idiot Spector, and why do i get the feeling if this happened to a Maple Leaf that the Dubbin inquiry would look like small potatoes relatively speaking!!!!
You know you try not to think we as fans are overreacting, until you read or hear the next ignorant statement from some overpaid idiot dressed up as a Hockey analyst.
You’re right on both points. It’s not “retarded” (I was exaggerating a bit), but it’s not gonna work and everyone knows that. You’re never gonna prove intent to injure, and Patches is presumed to have assumed the risk of getting hit during a hockey game.
I am amazed anybody (I mean ANYBODY) still watches sportsnet. That’s where sports lowlives (and lowlives in general) go to die. Who cares what that douche says.
Actually Danno, as much as I would rather hear the Gomez biz than have an injured player, when it comes ro ranting and raving, I would much rather have this than spend one moment on Gomer.
You may have opened the can… you may have just reminded everyone they forgot to bash Scotty for his one particularly ugly lame duck pass on the PP Tuesday night. Cue nonsense! …….
HOW IS THERE NO BASIS FOR AN INVESTIGATION? Simply put, the purported VICTIM of this possible CRIME has stated that he felt he was targeted SPECIFICALLY and injured on PURPOSE. That does not warrant a conviction, but last I knew its at least good enough for an investigation.
Very ridiculous that there is this attitude out there that if something happens in a hockey rink, all the consequences should stay in the sport. The NHL is not some sovereign land, in fact its a joke.
Now if ‘gimme a break’ means you think the SPM is a joke and nothing will come of it, then fine, I can’t opine. But if your implying that the probe itself is a joke, then YOU give ME a break.
Holy crap. Have you seen Mark Spector’s op-ed over at Sportsnet.ca? He blames Pacioretty for the injury, accusing him of (and I quote) “poking the bear” and putting himself into a vulnerable position. He says that Max really should have avoided Chara, adding that he “was foolish enough to put himself in a position where the big Bruin could exact payback” for his overtime shove. In other words: Max was just asking for it.
It’s just another example of the old “flirty girl in short skirt = justified rape” excuse (i.e. “she was asking for it”).
Unbe-freaking-lievable. Shame on Spector for even claiming to be a hockey journalist. Has he no decency or common sense? At least the commentators who defended Chara saying that he did it completely by accident weren’t foolish enough to intimate that Zdeno should have been excused even if it were on purpose. Frankly, Habs management should make it clear that he is unwelcome on Bell Centre premises or the players should just refuse to talk to him. At minimum, someone in the business (Mr. Boone, Stubbs, Todd, Fisher?) should call this guy out.
I think Habs will rise and play the rest of this year out for Max. I hope it’s a distraction to the Bruins. Regardless, the $#%ers are out in the first round.
Well said. I keep wondering, who is this “good guy” commentators keep talking about? Anyone who’s seen Chara play more than a few times knows that he regularly grabs guys who clearly don’t want any part of a fight and beats the tar out of them. See: Chara vs. Lecavalier, Chara vs. Komisarek, Chara vs. Latendresse…it’s a long list. Just because he’s never injured someone during the course of the play (before now) doesn’t mean he’s not a dirty player. He blows his stack when games aren’t going his way.
Oh crap… i forgot to set my PVR. Argh!!!! I need to hook up the PRV to the router so that I can do it online next time. Crap, crap, crapitty, crap, crap!!!
If the cops get involved here, it should be for criminal negligence on the part of the NHL. The idea of going after Chara is absolutely retarded. But going after the league for repeated failure to act in the face of a known danger? Might be something there.
This will be my first post since last Saturday. I usually post during the game blog but for some reason, I didn’t post on Tuesday.
My opinion:
There’s no question this incident is rooted in Patch’s shove after the OT goal. Chara felt “slighted”. I remember saying to myself, Uh-Oh. Max was pretty well marked for something by Chara after that. I’ve seen Chara’s youtube collection of hits and especially fights,.. that’s why I mumbled the “Uh Oh”. This guy is a raging maniac when he loses it. He knows he can overpower anyone out there. I knew he was doing a “slow burn” since that OT game. I would have thought that, to get back at Max, he would eventually goad him into dropping them or maybe corner him and bitch-slap him a bit and it would be over. No, everyone knew he was simmering. I was treading on pins and needles for that game. Big Z knew what he was doing. I don’t think he wanted to hurt him to that degree (hindsight), but he did. The bottom line is it was premeditated. He simply chose this way to do it. A coward’s way.
I, for one, was on the side with those who wanted redemption but knew we had next to NOTHING to goon them back with. So, with a Boston team like this, a wolfpack which views us like tasty sheep they can’t catch… what else would one expect.
If you want to see the end result of a union between pond scum and toilet runoff, read this jerk’s blog on the hit. I’ve never wanted to hit a columnist more in my life.
If you don’t want to support the blogger (understandably so) by visiting his site, his article just boiled down to his last line: “Punish Chara? We should be thanking him.”
Utter crap. People like this who glorify injury (not violence, there’s a difference) should be removed from Hockeybuzz and all other respectable sports blogs.
It will be interesting to hear Don “too many men on the ice” Cherry’s take on the Chara hit on Coach’s Corner. Yes..very interesting considering it was a Boston Bruin that injured a Montreal Canadien. It is also absolutely ludicrous that the director of enforcement for the NHL has a son playing for a member club, which is a blatant conflict of interest. This “recusal” excuse offered by Colin Campbell is an utter sham as Mike Murphy is his employee and takes his orders from Campbell..ie, not an “arms length transaction”. All in all, further proof that Mario Lemieux is right and that the NHL is strictly bush league much to the disappointment and detriment of its followers.
I agree with Apron to a degree, however , he fails to reconize that the base is looking for someone to make sence of the tradgedy , to feel their pain and sence of futilty in not being able to find some redress , recouse ,to adress the sence of futility they are feeling. The League failed to respond and so we are left wallowing in our deep sense of indignation. The Canadiens Organization , Gautier , might have helped by atleast speaking out in a manner that showed some sence of responsibily to its fan base as well as the League. Im sure the league will hear it from him loud and clear, but behind closed doors ,which is like not hearing it at all. A good leader would have removed the burden of a response from patz, from his players, from his fan base , by stating clearly that the League was wrong. Then maybe the Players , the fans , could focus on the game at hand knowing that someone in the Organization had there back. In a very broad sense , this hit was and attack on us all , and we needed to hear from the management that we were wronged.
I would like to see Desharnais take Pac’s spot on the top line. I wouldn’t want kostitsyn to be moved away from eller and Moen. Will be interesting to see what happens.
Boone, not too sure what you have against a police investigation. There is enough evidence that proves motive and malicious intent on the part of Chara.
Based on the severity of the injury and that death was certainly a possible outcome, this has every reason to be treated as a potential criminal offense.
If you were driving your car through an underpass and squeezed someone out so they crashed into a support post, you’d be held criminally liable for your actions and responsible for any kind of personal injury the other party may have suffered.
This really should be no different, it is beyond the rules of the game, therefore it is no longer part of the game.
How about something like……..The Montreal canadiens organization takes strong exception to the failure of the League to administer supplementary discipline for the hit on our player . The five minute major , the game misconduct imposed by on ice officials , as well as the serious nature of the injuries received , waranted a much more vigorious response by way of supplementary discipline in addition to that imposed by on ice officials.
” WASHINGTON – NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says Max Pacioretty’s injury is horrific, but it’s part of the game.
Speaking after a U.S. congressional panel discussion about encouraging American kids to get into hockey, Bettman said most concussions and head injuries this year have been from accidents or players falling—rather than as the result of hits.
As for Air Canada threatening to pull its sponsorship over such injuries, Bettman says the league can find other carriers if Air Canada doesn’t want the NHL’s business.
Montreal forward Pacioretty was hospitalized with a severe concussion and fractured vertebra after slamming into a stanchion holding the glass at the Bell Centre on a hit by Bruins captain Zdeno Chara.
The NHL subsequently elected not to suspend Chara.”
What do you mean, ‘Gimme a break’?!? This is great! Exactly what’s needed; if the piece of junk league can’t discipline anybody who deserves it, somebody has to. This is justice for Pacioretty: the fact it’s being investigated at all must be an embarassment to the NHL for not suspending or even doing anything to Chara. They gave wiz like 6 games earlier in the season for his ‘obscene gesture’ to Avery because if you allow things like that, parents might not allow their young kids to watch… but now you almost kill somebody, and nothing? Nothing at all? Sad. I’m happy the RCMP are doing this… also, I’ve lost all respect for our spineless GM or whoever it was that said they shouldn’t make their feelings about this public.e
Formerly known as Camel_Larry.. ‘Sub-BAM! What a hit!’ ..”No more Looser on this teams!!” – Canadienboy
Best argument for legal action I’ve seen or heard, but it’s still a waste of time. Nothing will come from it except newspaper sales. Nothing will be achieved.
A buddy of mine is a Bruins fan and started running his yap about this circus on Facebook. I pointed out that the only real revenge needed is for MTL to keep beating them 4-6 times a year and every playoff series…..
talk about your bush league networks!! Kypreos is an idiot, but no where near as big of an idiot as macLean, and spector is a weasel faced bastard who if I saw him right now, I might punch him in the face and ram a bunch of medications down his throat. (I am at work)
It boggles the mind how far people go to avoid saying that Chara is responsible. If MAx pac can’t play again, or not at a high level, he should sue the ass off of Chara, who clearly still can’t say “i should have let up, I didn’t, i didn’t think this would happen, I am very sorry” that is all we need to here. This hockey play gone wrong is so foolish it is not funny. I am a huge Habs fan, but i can honestly say that if Gill or Wis or Subban put a guy in like that (marchand, lucic, anybody) I would have the same opinion that this needs ot be delat with, from a hockey standpoint, not just the hit itself
You’re at a freakin’ U.S. congressional panel discussion about encouraging American kids to get into hockey, and you essentially state, “Hey parents, sighn your kids up to play this great sport of ours. Granted, there’s a good chance that they’ll get concussed, because, hey… it’s part of the game.”
Funnily enough, I was Mitch’s 1,000 Twitter follower and was chosen as one of five listeners to co-host Melnick in the Afternoon this month. I warned Mitch that they need to start putting money in a jar in order to pay for the fines I’ll accrue from the CRTC. Seems like someone there beat me to the punch.
Looks like the refs are clearing making the point the NHL wants them to make. You speak out this is whats happens. Then again the Habs always get treated this way by the refs so whats the difference.
I’m not going to get all worked up over this game. Benny is no Max so we’re back to hoping Cammy and Gomez find their games again. It’s going to take more than this to sink them.
Same here. I’ve always liked their uni’s and colors since their inception. I’d like to see them win a cup. They never have and they are a good franchise for the league with a good fan base. Players love playing there but for some reason, they never seem to get far.
He’s got no power in his legs, they shove him, he falls down. That and he’s got no decision making ability, makes Andrei Kostitsyn’s hockey sense seem on the level of Markov’s.
Up until the last few minutes, our boys looked like they were skating in sand. Benny’s still in a fog out there…blowing his chance at staying on the top line.
With an American running the show, I doubt very much that comments from Canada’s Prime Minister will have any impact on Bettman’s day to day operation of the NBHL
Chara’s first shift tonight Boston fans chanting Chara Chara Chara. The most classless team in professional sports, the most classless city in the world and the most classless — need i go on
You know people can say what they want about the glass and the structure. If it really was an issue, someone would have spoken up sooner. I am sure the NHL has guidelines on the infrastructure.
Should it be gone, probably, at least more padding applied. But this should not be the talk of the town.
To begin, it was not a hockey play, it was INTERFERENCE, meaning it was NOT a hockey play. Then Chara looks right at the stanchion and boom, forces Max into it. Max clearly tries to get away from the boards, but Chara holds him and shoves him (even Lupul said he was pushed, that dork). Gomez did not see the hit but he heard it. Chara SURELY heard the hit, but did not even turn around. It was premeditated and dirty with severe results. The F’N moron has been brainwashed by the Boston Bruins, he is a callous, cold son of a bitch in my books.
Eye for an eye, nah, just lose to the Habs in the playoffs and have every Hab player just skip shaking his hand while telling him they are so happy to beat the Bruins because they suck so much.
I meant the NHL governing body, and how about them boards, how hard are they? If it was that big of a deal, it WOULD have already been changed. There are guidelines in the design and infrastructure, if they were not within code, the rink SHOULD be shut down until fixed. Hasn’t been closed yet.
Yes, we can agree, Max was absolutely without a shadow of doubt, he was pushed.
Watch the shifty eyes. He is without a doubt phased. The man is a liar.
I am going to transcribe this later and tear it apart. I don’t have time now as there is a hockey game to watch but let this be another nail in Bettman’s coffin.
then the police should start investigating every semi-dangerous hit this year?
Give me a break. I am a habs fan but I am also a reasonable person. Reasonable enough to realize that even if I’m angry Chara was not suspended, the police have NOTHING to do with this.
Botton line here Chara did this on purpose because he was pissed at losing and the fans singing and he wanted to make a point. He had a hatred for Max and he had a opportunity and took full advantage of it, The pictures don’t lie he clearly pushed his head into that upright. The Toronto media is blaming the rink and Max and anything but the truth. This is like a man walking in on his wife in bed with another man. He did not come home with the intent to kill but passion over took his judgement. Absolutly the police should investigate this because Chara had malise in his heart for the few seconds he had the opportunity to make Max and the fans pay and he took full advantage of it.
Players have complained about the glass in Montreal for years, this isn’t a new thing. However it still doesn’t make the glass responsible for Pacioretty’s injury. The glass didn’t pop up out of nowhere at center ice, he was pushed into it.
I couldn’t agree more. We will never be able to reduce the risk to zero in any sport: I’ve had teammates suffer absolutely vicious head impacts in ultimate frisbee, soccer and have been on the receiving end of a pretty brutal accidental head shot in hockey that had me seeing stars and passed out momentarily on the ice. Anytime you have people moving at high speed and not necessarily able to track everybody else around them, there is going to be accidental contact that can cause serious injury.
I said after seeing the Chara-Pacioretty video that I didn’t see any malice or intent. I stand by those words, in the context of the sport as it is currently played. I still don’t actually believe that Chara intended to seriously hurt Pacioretty and I do believe that it was an unfortunate accident. That being said, it is an accident that arises from the current fixation on physical intimidation in the NHL: Chara was trying to eliminate Pacioretty and probably “bench” him to send a message. Why are we still condoning players “sending messages” in today’s NHL?
The only messages I want sent are on the scoreboard. This physical intimidation BS is a complete and utter joke. It is an excuse for guys to go out and hurt one another.
Wouldn’t know how that feels like …i can only imagine.. Max Pac is a trooper. I hope he doesn’t push himself..get’s the rest he needs and is back when he’s ready. He’s a star in the making.
I vaguely remember a game a long time ago when Serge Savard got real pissed at some opponent and pushed the dudes front teeth through his lips with a full facial crosscheck. It’s was the only time I’ve ever seen him lose it and you could hear a pin drop in the forum at that moment from everyone…. You could try too bully Montreal back then but it would unleash the LION . GO Habs GO……..
Now NESN has changed their strategy, pointing out Pacioretty’s own transgression just a couple of months ago. Pacioretty, if you recall, drilled Mark Eaton from behind into the end boards, receiving a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. What I find interesting is the comment from Jacques Martin in this Pat Hickey recap in the Gazette the following day:
“The killer was a five-minute major and a game misconduct to Max Pacioretty, who drilled Islanders defenceman Mark Eaton into the boards early in the third period with the Islanders leading 2-0. By the time the major penalty expired, the Islanders were up 4-0.
“I remember going in on the forecheck and I thought he was going to turn into me but it didn’t end up that way,” Pacioretty said. “It’s a fast game and sometimes you make mistakes and I definitely made a mistake there and hurt our team. I obviously hurt that player. I’m disappointed with what happened and I wish I could take that back.”
The game misconduct triggers an automatic review by the National Hockey League and Martin was asked whether he thought Pacioretty would be suspended.
“I would hope not,” he said. “He’s not that kind of player. He went in with good speed to finish his check and their player turned at the last minute.”
Isn’t it a little odd that Martin’s defence of Pacioretty, that he shouldn’t be suspended because he’s not “that kind of player”, is the same defence that has had so many Habs fans up in arms over when it came to McKenzie or Julien or others defending Chara?
Dangerous plays are dangerous plays. If we’re going to be justifiably furious over the outcome of Chara’s actions and his lack of punishment by the league, I truly hope that this is also a signal of a sea change in hockey fans’ attitudes when it comes to ANY dangerous plays in hockey, even those that involve the players from our own favourite team. Because Chara’s hit was over the line, but so are so many others that fortunately do not result in horrible injuries like those that Pacioretty suffered.
That Chelios hit on Propp is a dark day for Habs fans Ian. It cost us the Cup karma-wise. Yes the Flyers were dirty bastards and always will be but that made us one of them for a brief moment in time.
The Richard suspension was the right move. Imagine if Colin had half of Clarence’s resolve.
“The Montreal Canadiens organization does not agree with the decision taken yesterday by the National Hockey League. We can assure you that we have made our position clear to Commissioner Gary Bettman, and that he has agreed to make this issue a priority at the next General Manager’s meeting, which will be held in Florida on March 14-16. Pierre Gauthier, our General Manager, will be present at this meeting and has already expressed his wish to carry out, clearly, our message to his 29 counterparts and to the League.”
———————————————————————— “Young people have seen that a team can play electrifying, fascinating hockey while still behaving like gentlemen.” ~Serge Savard~
I REALLY want to see price shut down jaro. that hame is a day away, not b2bs. and pittsburgh is good but they are not what they were earlier this year (clearly). nor has 31 shown any signs of fatigue.
habs are playing in beantown, the clock ticking down on a 3-0 habs lead. boos and beer rain down on the ice as chara lumbers up the ice with the puck. He winds up and slaps it into the corner and WHAM out of nowhere Gionta, of all people, ‘accidentally’ falls and submarines him into the boards, snapping Chara’s ankle and bringing the brute to the ice. gloves drop, scrum ensues, thornton tries to jump off the bench, julien has steam coming out of his ears. Chara leaves the ice, pointing fingers. cups and hats and coins fly onto the ice, the refs call the game with 6 seconds left. Brunet and houde are stunned, aghast at how it is ‘so out of character’ for gionta, and admit that he will definitely face a suspension. The game ends with boston unable to fulfill their bloodlust and fuming.
then suddenly gionta is being interviewed in civvies before boarding the team bus, angry boston fans chanting in the background, and someone asks him ‘was this payback? did you mean to hurt him? do you have anything to say to chara?”
and gionta just smiles and says, “as far as i’m concerned, zdeno chara can go f–k himself”
and then i woke up.
there’s a reason the b’s haven’t won a cup in 40 years: zdeno’s hit, and claude julien and marchand’s bitching, and lucic and horton’s posturing are why they haven’t. You earn the cup, you have to deserve it, and the b’s have done nothing of value for the league since bobby orr left them. From Jay miller and ken linesman and mike milbury and reggie lemelin to the current crop of arrogrant pricks that wear the black and gold, the bruins organization has been the NHL’s ugly sideshow; and even when they’ve played great hockey, or ray bourque threatens to lead them to greatness, their fans hate them for it, and management drags out the goons to placate the rabble.
so as far as i’m concerned, the bruins – and their family ties to the NHL, and their bloodthirsty commentators and willfully ignorant fans - can go f–k themselves. Win or lose, Cup or not, they’re the classless assh–es of the nhl, and everyone knows it. i can’t waste any more time on them.
no more of the maxpac thing for me. nothing can be done that will make me feel good about it. hope the boys find solace in his progress and can pull out a win tonight. i can’t imagine it’s going to be easy for them…
I am 100% and unequivocally against fighting in hockey. Nothing has ever changed on that front. I think it is absolutely ludicrous that we allow young kids to punch each other in the head in the OHL, and grown adults in the NHL. There is never a need for it…it is just something that people accept because it is there.
If your point was regarding my stance on the hit itself, I am simply disgusted with how many people on this website have been pissing and moaning but are absolutely quiet when it is our own players that are guilty of the dangerous plays.
As much as people get blasted for it, IF does play an important role in this discussion. If Pacioretty doesn’t break his neck, we’re probably not as angry today as a fan base. There would be no police report, there would be no public outcry, there would be no corporate threats to the NHL. It would have been a well-deserved 5 minute major and game misconduct. Nobody can prove one way or the other what Chara was thinking…we can only surmise.
If Mark Eaton doesn’t recover fully from his own plowing into the boards at the hands of Pacioretty, Islanders fans are talking about what an embarassment the Montreal Canadiens and Max Pacioretty are. Nobody can know what Pacioretty was thinking…we can only surmise.
Slight changes in body position are all that it takes to turn this from this catastrophe and it being a discussion point for Mike’s About Last Night before a quick fade into obscurity.
Fans have had years to get behind improved safety. The head shot issue is not new. The danger of that spot in various rinks is not new. The issue of players hitting to hurt instead of hitting to gain possession of the puck is not new. The issue of players not wearing visors is not new. I’ve commented on all of these things before. Yet most fans didn’t care…in the worst cases, I was told that I knew nothing about hockey.
Now it is a Montreal Canadiens player that was hurt. Montreal fans are furious. Tomorrow, it might be a Nashville Predator. Will those same Montreal fans still be looking out for player safety? Sadly, based on tons of experience with many here, I have my doubts that we’ll see the same moral outrage.
Funny, just thinking about Chara’s action of shoving Patches into the direction of the stanchion. people can say he didn’t do it on purpose and didn’t know where he was but that makes no sense. We all know that a guy trying to beat a defensemen to the outside close to the boards will usually get pinched off by the dman. Normally, at any other part of the rink like so many morons always seem to mention, Chara would angle patches into the boards with his left shoulder and pinch him off, with both players bumping the boards, and patched effectively taken out of the play. The issue is, if you watch the replay, Chara let up from himself pinching off the boards, which dman normally do when he looked up at the stantion. Instead of the shoulder contact, you clearly see Chara extend his left arm towards patches which guides him into the post.
The movement Chara did would make no sense if it was right in front of a bench or with normal glass. That shove was basically at a 45 degree angle to the stantion, where normally, he would pinch him off. Chara was still a foot or two from the boards when he straight armed patches into the post. With no post, that straight arm would have done nothing but propell patches along the boards and would have led to him beating Chara to the outside.
Maybe I am grasping at straws, but if Chara didn’t know what he was doing, then he would have made a completely different physical play. Sure, it happens fast, but so does shooting the guy sleeping with your wife (not from experience, don’t worry)
Here’s the NHL’s commish responding to a major sponsor by saying essentially that they can do what they wish and our teams don’t have to fly their planes. And it’s a wonder why the NHL has trouble attracting fans.
Can’t even watch the game tonight….got my own playoff game. Is this a blessing in disguise?..as much as i love the habs i think for the next few games, when watching it’ll be the same as watching the third period of last game. Sad and not focussed. will the habs respond in the same way? i hope not, i hope they play for max.
Chris. unless I am reading you incorrectly lately, I am very disappointed in your attitude. Safety can always be improved, it takes effort and persistence, but if you are right ,you fight.
Re-focus? For myself personally it’s going to be very hard. I try and watch all Habs games whenever possible, but now I don’t know anymore. Of course they’re still my team and always will be, but I’m so deflated right now.
I’m also struggling with some inner “demons” right now; because the NHL let that brute off scot free, all I find myself thinking about is when is he going to get his?, I want revenge on Chara. Does that make me a bad person? I’m also thinking who possibly in our whole organization could physically give this guy his just reward; who can be our David to this Goliath, and I can’t come up with any answers, THAT is also frustrating the hell out of me!!
You know Chris, hockey is a great game. We’re talking here though about NHL hockey. Some of the best players in the world play in that league. Crosby used to play there. So did MaxPac.
I used to watch roller derby when I was a kid and I often wondered what happened to it.
Hitting is one thing. And sometimes hits hurt. Sometimes doors and dividers and even posts get involved. Purposely running someone like that into the “turnbuckle” is an aggravated assault, and the forearm glove part then pleading accident simply indicates the character of the player. Imagine the NBA: A player drives another uninvolved player’s head into the bench. Imagine the NFL: a player puts the cleats to the unprotected neck of a fallen adversary. Imagine MLB: A batter turns and pummels the catcher with his bat.
The last thing the NHL needs is an investigation and possible charges, convictions, and limitations of players crossing borders. But as long as the Olgie Ogglethorps are allowed to get away with this sort of thing the solution is either a player revolt and new league, or the courts.
Were there ever any doubt about Bettman being unable to manage his league the last few months have resolved that plainly. He is rightly concerned that teams he touted as spreading his market are folding and dragging marginal teams down with them. I understand that, however he and the league have, in my opinion, lost sight of the sport.
Time for a new WHA only time around the fans should leave as well.
I spoke with OHL coach’s this morning. They agree that the Max hit was intentional. But they also said a few more things that make so much sense. We have to act now.
The speed of the game today with all the changes, is making for a more deadly and higher serious result because of the 1 no red line now, 2 the obstruction rule, allowing for no slowing down of the play. 3, And most importantly the body amour worn on the shoulders and elbows that are lethal.
There is no fear for the player laying on the hit today. He will not be hurt like in the years of softer equipment worn. With the softer equipment, the hitting player had as much chance of getting hurt as the recipient of his hit.
Can you imagine getting a Gordie Howe elbow wearing this kind of armour, the hospital beds would be full.
It is all well and good for the NHL to try to put a better finesse hockey product on the ice, I support that, but with what consequences to brain cells and bones. They now have to find a way to put the genie back into the bottle before more of our kids are brain damaged and broken for life.
Money and greed are dictating the rules, instead of a competent, dedicated and caring group, who will look out for the best interests of our kids and our game.
Action must be taken right now. If not by the NHL, then by government and the courts. Every day wasted talking, will cause more of our kids bodies a life time of pain, suffering and even death.
It shouldn’t matter who it is that throws a hit that end up with the head being targeted. The point is to get reckless contact out of the game so that the next Pacioretty incident doesn’t happen.
Campbell was not a menber of the Bruins at that time and his father called Savard a diver. So obivious things have changed. Bruins have a licence to to do want ever they want now.
Bettman says it’s part of the game. I didn’t know intentionally directing someone’s head into an inanimate object at full force was part of any game let alone hockey. You don’t have to be very intelligent, which Chara is not, to know this will cause serious injury if not worse. If it is part of the game then Bettman you and your cronies Campbell and Murphy get your skates on and be part of the game. I am sure we can find some people who would like to play against you. What a jerk
Read This Comment…i liked it “Now we get to hear hypocritical Bruins fans who cry every time Matt Cooke’s name is mentioned talk about how this was a clean hit.”
Like many of you, I’ve been sick to my stomach about this tragedy to MaxPac… I even avoided posting anything on here because I was too angry to make sense, and didn’t want to just post a bunch of F-bombs although thats what I feel like doing. But here are a couple of opinions:
- The league totally f@@@ed up when it didn’t hand out a suspension. How do they get away with this conflict of interest? The boss’ son plays for the Bruins, so a guy who works under him makes the decision? How is that fair? No matter how unbiased he tries to be, he still has to worry about handing out a suspension and thus pissing his boss off! Either way, the Habs got shafted.
- As for the leagues view that it was an “unfortunate accident” and thus Chara is cleared: here is a great analogy from JT’s blog: “What’s wrong in the NHL is that it doesn’t follow the same logic as the rest of the world. If you drive a car on the highway and cut off another vehicle because you’re trying to pass it, and if that move causes an accident, you will be charged with reckless driving. If the accident you caused hurts or kills another person, the severity of the charges goes up. Of course, you didn’t mean to hurt someone; you only wanted to pass that car. The law doesn’t care. If you are reckless and hurt someone, you will pay the price. The outcome might not have been your intention, but you must still be accountable for the consequences of your actions.” I couldn’t have said it any better.
- Finally, when it comes to payback, I am torn between (1) leaving it up to the hockey gods: Karma is a bitch and Chara will get a horrendous injury (maybe career ending?) to make up for what he did (cause we all know he had it in for Max, and he’ll get his for that ill-will)… and (2) Retribution. And I don’t mean sending out a guy to fight him, cause that doesn’t achieve anything (especially since nobody in the league, let alone our guys, can beat him). No, I mean send out White, or Moen or somebody else who is not super critical to our lineup… and go knee-on-knee with the big goon, and end his season. White would get a suspension but not super long, so who cares. But then Chara will see how it feels when you target someone and end their livelihood.
Still fuming…

“Mr Gainey, you will not regret picking me”. – PK Subban
I agree with you that Chara had every intention of sending a message to Max. Problem is, the video evidence makes it awfully difficult to explain it away as nothing but an accident.
The angle at 1:25 from the end of the rink leaves no doubt, in my mind, at least, that Chara had every intention of making sure that Max hit that stanchion.
Damien Cox, Toronto Star, on Sportsnet another idiot. Max did that to Chara Montreal wouldnt be saying nothing. I say if PK did that to Seguin or Marchand or Campbell he would be gone for the season.
while they may give effort i dont think you can have three forwards in the line up at the same time like moen, pyatt and white…all 3 are basically 2-3 goal a season scorers right now.
Agree 100%… was very surprised it didn’t happen yesterday,Pouliot is in no way a replacement for Max. Why is Desharnaise not getting more ice time? I take Dawaes over Pyatt any day of the week.
I hope the Ghost loses it on Monday on the cheating refereeing in general. We’ve been robbed all year – and it’s indiscriminate – all the zebras call everything real or imaginable on us, while our guys get cut up and nearly killed – and bugger all is called.
No, Boston…Jack Edwards with call, he didn’t start the game but the crowd chanted when he touched the puck on his first shift…I mean it is his home barn but still…
karma. Boston fans are the most ignorant of all. cheer him for almost enbding a life. good show. I have a friend that cheers for Boston. Never talked to him yet since the game, but I might just walk up and knock his teeth out.
problem is, he is actually not one of the bad ones, but I still want to do it.
How’s this for class. The morning after the ugly incident this guy comes in to work wearing his Boston sweater. Usually you wear your team sweater when your team wins. What the hell was there to celebrate? Your team lost 4-1. Oh yeah. I forgot. Your goon almost killed one of hockey’s most skilled players. Party on goof.
Then they turn in a game like Tuesday and what do you say? Yes they’re still a bubble but they’re above average really. And Max wasn’t the engine. He was a valuable component byt he’ll be replaced by someone…just not Benny I think.
When I played soccer I remember one of our emerging young forwards got taken out of a game in a similarly Charaesque (huge, smart, ruthless, vengeful) way.
We played like crap the next game. Sucked the fun out of it.
He was ok in the long run, and so were we.
But a letdown tonight should not be taken as the sky falling.
Alright. The “Max is gone and our team has fallen apart forever” stuff is a bit early and also ridiculous. It not even halfway through the first game since the injury and they played a good opening period. Actually just looks like the majority of our games this season. Let’s get ahold of ourselves, eh?
This is BULLSH*T. That puck was a good foot offside. Even the St. Louis player couldn’t believe it wasn’t whistled down. What the F*** is going on out there?
Habs are an average team..but they can really suck some nights and it makes you wonder if they play above their weight level a lot. Overachieve..but sometimes they are revealed. Without Price, this is not a playoff team. I really think losing MaxPac is going to hurt us big time..he was what we needed
Easy Andrew, he’s not that far off though. It’s just disapointing to see someone like Benny continue to fall down and simply get in the way while someone like DD or Eller may be better in the spot. Iknow, I know…centres…but damn they bring so much more to the game than Benny right now.
Yeah… you’re full of it. Sorry but the Canadiens are in the top 3rd of the NHL, they have the 4th most non-shootout wins in the NHL. This isn’t a bubble team or an average team, this is a very damn good team.
LOL..Benny is melting down like ice cream on the counter.
That’s the problem..If you have to rely on guys like Benny and AK..you are mediocre.
And the Wiz etc. NOt entirely their fault as an organization of course but the replacement guys are just chuggers for the most part, Likeable chuggers ..yep..but
I would love to see Chara break his leg tonight. Not a life threatening injury, or even career threatening, but just trip along the boards and twist the hell out of it. I know that sounds bad, but if it happened I would give myself a high five.
So Bettman says that people from both clubs involved say that the incident was handled properly by hockey operations? WTF I SAY? So Gauthier not only doesn’t say anything publicly, but the privately he fellates Bettman’s NHL after a near death due to egregious negligence?
Way to go Pierre. I never called for your head about your handling of the team, but this one stinks.
Wow I have a whole new respect for Joe Thorton a man thats stands up and tells the truth. Joe certainly has no Bias for the Habs so your know he saying what he thinks is right. Hopefully this gets Campbell and Murphy both fired.
Have we seen the last of Benny tonight? That giveaway was brutal!
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
Pang officially a numbskull. Says it was a ‘hockey play’ and agreed with St. Louis broadcasting team that ‘nothing can be done’ to prevent it.
One thing an incident like this does it separate the dense from the thoughtful. Never thought I would say this, but Pierre Mcguire has earned some respect from me. He will continue to annoy me to all Hell, but he understand the significance of this event. It’s not just about Chara and Pacioretty, its not just about intent, and its not just about rink design. Its about the NHL taking some responsibility for what happens on their ice. They did nothing, and our many of our media morons are okay with that.
By the way, if no one mentioned it, Chara earned himself a boarding penalty tonight on Montador. Such a careful, thoughtful player…
Do you realize that now Lurch will have to pack a lunch everytime he visits Montreal? I mean, do you think he could ever order a meal at one of our fine eateries and not wonder who cooked it, or what the waiter/waitress might have done to it before bringing it to his table?
I see the ref’s at the Bos-Buf game made an error. Chara called for boarding, clearly it was the boards fault and anyway, Montidor jumped into the boards.
This by Tony Mazzarotti in the Boston Globe today,
“Let us begin with the simple fact that Zdeno Chara had every intention of running Max Pacioretty into, as Carey Price called it “the turnbuckle.” What Chara did not expect was for Pacioretty to clip the glass the way he did, his head struck at such a frightening angle that Pacioretty was carried away on a stretcher.
The media needs to put pressure on the owners and question how Cambell gets a pass on the emails to refs about calls on his son. It’s just inexusable in a pro league. He was caught red-handed, and the owners are the only ones in a position to do anything about it.
Reason why: Jeremy Jacobs , chairman of the NHL BOG and hardline ally of Bettman.
Not forgetting that he gave Campbells’ kid an NHL job when nobody else wanted him.
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
Outraged Montreal hockey fans have organized a series of protests, including one outside the NHL office in downtown Montreal on March 14. Another protest will take place outside the Bell Centre at the next home game on March 15.
This Facebook action alert has 900 people aboard, and is growing. I encourage any HIO member to join in peaceful protest and show your support for Max and all victims of similar injuries.
We can effect change if we want it. This is an opportunity to tell the NHL, and the world, how we feel about what has been done to our National pastime.

One could argue that they could actually come together and win this one for Patches. You know… support him by doing what matters rather than throwing empty words around. That would be a good way to support a teammate, in my very humbled opinion.
One loss isn’t the end of the world but a few concerns that stuck out to me.
• Dissapointed in the effort (or lack of) this was a character game and the habs didn’t bring it.
• for the last few weeks, Cammy has been playing like he’s afraid, half assed I arm poke checks, turn away from corners, and easy give-aways when pressured. What gives?
Can’t win while sleeping on the job. And it was there for the taking. That Blues Team is piss weak at the moment… Mara got hurt on a stupid fight – great.
Here’s hoping they wake the F up. maybe JM can make them skate cobwebs out tomorrow.
even if the terrible incident did not happen last game ..because of the build up and importance of winning that game i felt they would have a let down for a game or two..most winning streaks in the nhl usually dont last more than 5 games and when they do they are usually followed by a few loses…halpern scored but he just does not seem to fit with camm and plecks…i think dawes will be given a look…as mentioned earlier you just cannot have pyatt, white, moen in the line up at the same time …
Hey Mr. Boone how about all 4 Blues goals came within that magic first and last 2 minutes of periods. Love it! And does anybody else get PISSED when former Habs beat us…..or what about the f’n Bruins always getting the loser point? I really couldn’t even focus on the game tonight, my heart was not in it. I am thinking about MaxPac and wondering if he will ever be the same not only on the ice but off it as well. I can only imagine the Habs players and coaches are feeling the same way. I don’t know how the rest of the season will turn out but at this point I really don’t care……
The Scott Gomez line………..where wingers go to die. MaxPac – God bless. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I have not been able to find a similar site in Canada. My suggestion is to fill your address in the address line and pick anything, like 90210 for the postal code.
OMG. The Habs didn’t win 6 in a row. Bag skate them JM. How dare they lose a game after probably the most emotionally draining experience of their lives.
What a bunch of losers you people are. Tonight I support my team fully win or lose. They can lose every game this season and my heart and head and loyalty goes out to every one of them.
JOE THORNTON SPEAKS TO GLOBE AND MAIL AND DROPS BOMBSHELL!
Will Joe be suspended? I think so
Speaking to the Globe and Mail, the usually-reserved Thornton suggested that Chara’s club, the Boston Bruins, tends to receive favourable treatment from the NHL when it comes to discipline matters.
“It’s just something with Boston,” Thornton told the Globe and Mail. “It just seems like they have a horseshoe. We’ve seen the [Milan] Lucic cross-check to the head [of Maxim Lapierre] earlier, and there’s no disciplinary thing.”
Thornton was once a member of the Bruins, after being drafted first overall by Boston in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. The Bruins traded Thornton to San Jose in 2005.
“It’s just something about Boston and the disciplinary [process] is on their side. I’m not sure why that is. I’m not assuming that Colin [Campbell]‘s kid is on the team and that’s why, but it’s really bizarre.”
Campbell, the NHL’s vice-president of hockey operations, was not involved in reviewing the Chara hit because of the conflict of interest the case presents since his son Gregory plays for the Bruins.
Habs get a mulligan on a night where their hearts clearly weren’t in the game. Not only about their teammate, but that the NHL doesn’t think justice ever needs to be served. Now they’re worried they’ve got targets on their backs pinned there by Colin Campbell himself.
I can’t… I’m not even remotely interested in the game tonight. It was supposed to be Price vs. Halak, a great moment for everyone… I’m just in a haze of astonishment and rage. It is morally reprehensible that you can’t even give a token gesture to ensure that the league knows this kind of play is unacceptable.
Reckless play’s inherent unpredictability makes it every bit as dangerous, and as punishable, as malicious play.
That entire game looked like the 3rd period vs Boston.
Lethargic! No effort!
Chance to move into Boston’s backyard and zilch!
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
Well boys and girls, here’s your chance to let NHL sponsors know how you feel and ask them to follow Air Canada’s lead. I don’t have emails for all of them and some of the emails I have are likely not to the best person but it’s the best I could do.
Pyatt will always be hanging around JM loves him and his hands of stone!
Pyatt rarely gets deeper than the hash marks and a forecheck isn’t in his vocabulary.
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
The tean hung Price out to dry tonight just shameful how this team played. Pleks and Cammy should be ashame they have not showed up in weeks 9 mil between the two of them. Yea Gomez and Subban messed up but they put in the effort tonight. I could understand this effort if Molson didn’t come out to support them. This team let Max down and all the fans and mostly Price . Disgraceful totally disgraceful.
The usual bunch of complainers and whiners are in full form tonight, jdub and Mr. Habs a.k.a. Cool Ice Price a.k.a. Newfie Dog are already leading the charge.
I can’t wait for RetroMonkey’s classic analysis we’ve heard already 2000 times.
Kay, sit back, and take a breather The Habs weren’t balls to the wall tonight, and frankly I don’t blame them. Alot of **** went down the past couple of days.
It could very well be the start of a losing streak, and it could happen to ANY team in the NHL. Nobody here has the answers because they are not on the ice.

Bettman sure has some arrogance given the situation with the league. He definietly can’t afford to lose business. As of now the NHL rates below MMA and is in a tie with the WNBA.
I’m with the Majority, loving NHL hockey less and less everyday,
don’t know how long I will keep coming back,
I have many members in my family, my dad, my mom, they used to watch each and every game even listen on radio if it was not televised.
since the lock out/player strike, they have never watched 1 game, that’s it caput, they are done, could not be bothered, they currently know nothing about the team and could not care less.
Watched the clip closely several more times. Chara raised his left hand and slapped Max P upside his head with as much force as he could muster. It was akin to ‘take that, punk, that what’s you get for messing with me’.
Blues are a very beatable team. All the Habs have to do, is pull their heads out, and make the smart plays they’ve been doing these past few games. Get back down to basics.
Airlines are in a bind financially, I don’t think there are many out there that could take over Air Canada’s sponsorship dollars, except Southwest Airlines.
These are nothing more than my thoughts by they are things that are in the realm of possibility:
The GM meetings could actually produce concrete measures to drastically reduce the incidence of head shots and dangerous hits, recommend much stiffer penalties, suspensions and fines for those infractions and set the tone for more sweeping rule changes in the future.
We should remember who employs Bettman and company. He serves at the whim of the owners. Bettman himself has no fear of losing sponsors, receiving bad press or being called before Congress, Parliament or the fans. Public opinion has no influence on him. But the owners? A different story completely.
Let’s not forget the power of the sponsors. Air Canada is only one airline but Westjet has now also stated it has no interest in taking over sponsorships. The airline industry is a rather close knit group and it would not be far-fetched to hear the US carriers decline as well. The rest of the sponsors are either wading in slowly (Tim Horton’s and Molsons) or taking a wait and see position. It may not take much to push them over to the Air Canada position and where would that leave the NHL?
guys, read the Arpon Basu piece it’ll calm you a bit – it did for me. Unfortunately and as cold as it sounds, the team has to focus on the 2 points and us fans need to transfer some positive energy for our team to perform well
After last game I just have no interest in watching hockey for the time being. And I’m not just some fairweather fan either. Been a huge hockey and Habs fan my entire life.
I’m sure marc savard feels the same way as thornton. I agree that this call is ridiculous, but its not just the bruins. pitt, washington, other teams get away with it too.
Pouliot; whenever I think of him, I always remember his first 30games with the Habs, what a fabulous looking player he was then. Now when I see Benny, I think abt how much I miss Max-Pac with Gomer and Gio.
I still think Benny can be the player he can be. Give him time.
These next 3 games could be the centre stage appearance he needs to shine as a performer. He may never get a better chance to prove his worth as a top 6.
Well, my boy fell down a few times, looked a bit frazzled, two brutal giveaways in d-zone on same shift, devastating face-off loss…few nice passes, one for Gio got the shot off Jaro glove-saved as well as nice backhand pass coming into zone end of shift.
All in all though? Terrible. Kid needs to step up now. No more excuses.
I am not boycotting the NHL. The league needs to be changed from the top down. This incident is the 1st salvo. Nobody should rest until there is a clean sweep and head-shots that cause concussions, whether intentional or not, produce automatic suspensions, with the number of games increasing for repeat offenders.
In retrospect Scott Stevens should have been ejected from the game long ago. So should Matt Cooke.
The ice surface needs to be widened, the red line brought back and the instigator penalty abolished.
Clarence Campbell had the courage to expel Maurice Richard back in the day. Today’s NHL brass have no integrity by comparison and they must suffer the consequences of their inactions.
If the point is to reduce the number of concussions, how does the abolishment of the instigator penalty help anything? You had me up until then.
So long as you have a sport that condones ANY form of violence, you’ve got a problem. Fighting is one of the biggest issues when it comes to concussions, and I would hope that the news surrounding Probert’s medical results might have been the impetus needed to get this absolutely unnecessary element of hockey as a sport removed.
Other than that, the culture around hockey needs to change. See Cammalleri’s comment about the mindset of coaches as players are developing: hitting to hurt is being drilled into these kids, which is absolutely disgusting and shameful.
It’s actually ridiculous how much holding the Blues are getting away with. One of their defensemen literally grabbed Desharnais and started shaking him around, but DD kept the puck.
No no, don’t feel wrong about it. I feel the same way. I have tons of NHL habs wear and frankly…..I don’t how I’m supposed to approach this. I’m disgusted
It’s unrealistic to expect most fans are going to stop watching and attending games. Maybe not buying NHL merchandise is something everyone can do. The way I feel right now, wearing anything with NHL on it would be no different than wearing a sign that says “I am an idiot”. I need to block all of this out because I can’t take it anymore. The cowardice of the league brass, the disrepect of the players, the neandarthals who analyze the game, it’s sad. I admire Carey Price and Max Pacioretty for speaking out and honestly about the incident. I think Pierre Gauthier is a spineless worm for not making a public stand in defense of his player and the game in general. And Chara…what can I say. People think he’s tough? A man would have said he was sorry, wouldn”t have hid behind an institution full of people who like and endorse what he did. He knows it was intentional. He’s a liar. If you’d like to tell him so yourself you can message him on facebook. It won’t amount to anything but you might feel a little better. I did.
Yah, worst thing about that Ranger Win was that Kypreos and Healy both think that now they are above most others because they picked up jocksrtaps in the Ranger dressing room and got a ring for it.
how does Kubina get 3 games for what he did to Bolland last night – immediately after the league lets Chara slide and Bettman publicly states that they wont be overly policing hits to the head?
If i wasnt such a die hard habs fan i would wash my hands of this professional sport
Geez, I wonder what kind of reception Colin Campbell or Mike Murphy or Gary Bettman will get when and if they ever come to Montreal again. What about a Montreal-Boston playoff series? The NHL cannot distance itself from the situation it created. They are responsible for the anger people legitimately have as a result of their pure and utter stupidity.
If I’m air canada I follow through big time. Hopefully they are not the only ones. Fans should rally and demand that all NHL keynote sponsors do the same. Speaking of which, how eay is it to get a list of NHL’s sponsors?
Glenn Healy valiantly kept the bench warm during the Rangers 1994 Cup win I’ll have you know! Oh and he made a great punching bag for the Habs in the ’93 Cup Run.
Good remarks, very true, NHL is the only game where the nobodies became the analysts.
Ever noticed watching an NFL game the analysts are all former quarterbacks, coaches and skilled players (ie Wide Receivers etc..). There is the odd Linebacker, whom were all star calibre players. You don’t see players who got to play special teams only as the blocker or tackler.
Turn on baseball, you get former pitchers and catchers or all stars. Not some guy who bounced from team to team batting .178.
Yet turn on a hockey game and the analysts are goons who had the least involved role on all the teams they played on. Except of course that parade of goalies which the CBC has hired, who had to have more losses than wins as a goalie to get the job. (no i didn’t look it up, but does anyone remember Greg Millen or Glen Healy playing a meaningful game in the NHL).
Not sure of the claim process, but you can only use 4 call ups after the trade deadline, so they will be hesitant to call up anyone unless they need to.
if we need to call up forwards from hamilton who are the top 3…is it dawes, boyd(not sure on his waiver situation..is it the same during reg season and playoffs) and ?…it is going to be hard for dd to produce with pyatt and white on the same line…
I honestly don’t care. Win lose, what’s the difference? If you want to win in this league, beat the ever loving snot out of your opponent. Fight weaker foes, hit while they are down, smash their faces into metal poles – and get NOTHING for it.
That’s what I take from this league’s inaction. Thanks for ruining the season.
The ‘expert’ lineup on tv is getting ridiculous and reads like the boxscore from a brawl circa 1994- May, Kypreos, Stock, McSorley, Kluzak, Ward and Barnaby get majors, Peca with the match penalty to start the whole thing, and Milbury as the coach who sent em over the boards. Pathetic.
just listened to brad may on Cbc say nothing wrong with hit. I am so sick of the networks trotting out hockey goons to justify the unjustifable. poor old Max pretty much had to carry this one himself from his hospital bed .As for the habs organization there politically correct silence is infuriating.
I agree Pouliot sucks tonight, I just think he’s trying too hard to fill Max’s shoes. Hopefully he’ll settle down over the next few weeks. Really can’t bash him, there are no other options.
Also, the defense had been dreadful with the puck. Can’t blame that on Pouliot.
RW Brendan Gallagher: Van Giants star Brendan Gallagher continues to make great progress from head hit Saturday. Rode bike Wednesday, symptom free. This is from Elliott Pap who covers junior hockey in Vancouver.
Did you read the story for yourself? Bettman said that, with the exception of the two clubs involved, everyone else he talked to from other clubs was OK with the NHL’s decision. Nowhere did PG or anybody else from the Habs condone what happened.
This was a team loss IMO. Flat from the getgo. Price held them in, but even he was handling the puck badly. Let’s hope they bounce back after this one. Can’t afford a losing streak.
What a difference. It’s obvious that their heads are somewhere else. Just remember how deadly they were against Boston pre MAX incident. Come on boys, shake it off… there’s unfinished business yet.
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
I KNEW i would come on here and see Gomez getting blamed. Would someone like to explain how that wasn’t more on PK than Gomez? I know hes the golden boy and gomez is the whipping boy, but get real.
In a way, I agree. But in that statement lies veiled admission that you think they don’t possess the internal fortitude to overcome adversity as a team. Should be interesting to see how long it takes for them to normalize before the playoffs.
I’m just going to nervously watch the rest of the season hoping no more members of the Canadiens, or any hockey team end up on the ice looking like they’re dead.
If the league actually policed itself properly my argument against the instigator penalty would be dropped. IMO that rule has led to more risky behavior because players feel there wont be any on ice retribution. I totally applaud Ryan White for attacking Boyton as Boyton clearly tried to run Subban.
I also applaud the Islanders for their response to the Penguins.
If the authorities do not dole out justice accordingly then things worsen as the abused tend to seek out their own justice.
The NHL has created the Pacioretty injury as the Crosby and Marc Savard ones because they don’t punish the offenders accordingly.
It’s hypocrisy at it’s worse. They punish teams for protecting themselves and let the violent offenders off without even a tap on the wrists. It’s a fiasco and the league has shown nothing but hesitation in addressing head shots let alone the new culture of violence and intent to injure that is making its way into the NHL.
I have never been so disgusted with the NHL in all my life.
Pouliot is no replacement for Max, where is Darche or anyone else please. Pouliot is at best a 4th liner. He cost us two goals tonight, and he has not even taken his penalty yet.
Eller line should move up now. We will win this game, but the give aways, oh my!! Thank Gawd for Carry.
Hockey Inside/Out encourages lively debate, but there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism, profanity and behaviour that we deem to be offensive.

See Cormier v. Tam
I just read the story on TSN and am speechless and appalled. Just when you think Bettman can’t get any sleazier and cold hearted, he comes out with this arrogance and insensitivity.
Shame on him and I hope he enjoys his after life in eternal hell.
What a douchebag is right.

Entirely different situation. Intent was much more obvious in that case, and it was between two Quebecers (as opposed to two foreigners).
The NHL, by doing nothing in the face of this ugly incident has alienated millions of true hockey fans.
Things just aren’t the same anymore and I wonder if they ever will be.
I miss the days where the main topic of discussion was how much Gomez sucks
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Call me what you want but if a Hab would have hit Bergeron or Seguin the exact same way, he would have got 10 games minimum.
A hockey play… my ass!
Interference is when you pick or impede a player not railroad him into the boards let alone a stanchon.
….Hab4life….
Who cares what that douche says.
to hell
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
No it’s my magical-saying which has the 4-game win streak! I didn’t say it the 2nd game of our present 5-game win streak.
bettman must go.
5 game win streak!
If Bettman wants to stay, he has to start a new disciplinary system. Be selfish Bettman, it’ll do you and the NHL good for once.
pretty sure it was
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Now you’ve done it!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
… Cruelest game on earth
Oh yeah, I forgot. It’s the N. H. Hell…
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
That’s about as low as you can go. Spector is a sick man
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Come on Habbies! Do your Papa G proud!
(4-game win streak!)
I think he runs the place
Boone, Stubbs, Todd, Fisher?) should call this guy out.
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2011/03/10/spector_poking_the_bear/
Crap, crap, crapitty, crap, crap!!!
im predicting a shootout
Halak will want to prove to Gauthier what a mistake it was to trade him
and Price will want to prove to Gauthier (for the 8 million time this season) that he was the right choice
this will be exciting
If anything I hope the Habs become possessed – bats outta hell – like Space Jam without the fairytale ending.
Might turn in to an inspiration but it will take time, doubt tonight’s game will be focused at all.
If the cops get involved here, it should be for criminal negligence on the part of the NHL. The idea of going after Chara is absolutely retarded. But going after the league for repeated failure to act in the face of a known danger? Might be something there.
Eh, I can’t say I’m familiar with this guy’s work, but I’m pretty sure that entire article was written sarcastically.
If you think HIO can get bad – try the ESPN boards covering the hit. It’s brutal!
My question – does an incident like this inspire the team to rise to the top of the East or distract them out of the playoffs?
I’ll still watch, cause I love the Habs.
Utter crap. People like this who glorify injury (not violence, there’s a difference) should be removed from Hockeybuzz and all other respectable sports blogs.
http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Richard-Cloutier/How-to-Improve-the-NHL-Chara-Edition/131/34354
Oh I’m watching, I just don’t feel enthusiastic or cheerful.
That is true, the justice system should be going after the league. It makes much more sense.

Check out goon hockey over the years, it will never change.
North American hockey at its finest!
“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “
In a very broad sense , this hit was and attack on us all , and we needed to hear from the management that we were wronged.
anyone know the line combos for tonight?
I would like to see Desharnais take Pac’s spot on the top line. I wouldn’t want kostitsyn to be moved away from eller and Moen. Will be interesting to see what happens.
Going after the criminal responible is not “retarded.” Allowing him to walk with no repercussions for his actions is reprihensible.
ok question – what would be penalty to canadiens organization if every player wore no. 67 jerseys in warmup?
You want to make your collective blood boil again? Here is Gary Bettman’s statement about the hit:
http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/38967-Commissioner-Gary-Bettman-says-Pacioretty-injury-horrific-but-part-of-the-game.html
What a wonderful man.
Maybe Benny will bust out big time – sure would be nice. Whatever we do, don’t wake up the blues – just skate the crap out of them.
Now - if Halak stands on his head, it will be a 1-1 tie and Eller will score in the shootout to win it.
Sorry too long and I am winded.
Anybody hear the unintentional meltdown on the Team990 about an hour ago?
WHAT A DOUCHEBAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No i missed it… what happened? was this on Tieman’s show?
“CSI Bell Centre? Gimme a break”
‘Sub-BAM! What a hit!’ ..”No more Looser on this teams!!” – Canadienboy
hilarious.
raised my spirits considerably.
So say we all.
F-Bomb tirade on an open mic.
talk about your bush league networks!!
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Great way to promote the game, Gary.
What a knob.
How long you been sitting on that one Dean?
***Subbang!!!***
For the love of God Hab,s shoot the damn puck high on Halak
5 I think, and it has to be tough to focus.
Looks like the refs are clearing making the point the NHL wants them to make. You speak out this is whats happens. Then again the Habs always get treated this way by the refs so whats the difference.
I guess the Habs have decided a 4 game winning streak is enough?
Just as well DD shot behind the net
Get ready for it. Chara apologists saying “So if your captain breaks that guys neck with his intentional crosscheck, should he be suspended?”
Wake up, no their out for the count!
I’m not going to get all worked up over this game. Benny is no Max so we’re back to hoping Cammy and Gomez find their games again. It’s going to take more than this to sink them.
***Subbang!!!***
Thanks for showing up Habs!
Apparently the rest of the team is getting frustrated with the selective reffing too.
Ugh, ANOTHER penalty. I hope Price can keep the team in it until they wake up.

Cammy & Gomez couldn’t find sex in a brothel with the bank of Montreal behind them!
Really Backes? You pussy.
Same here. I’ve always liked their uni’s and colors since their inception. I’d like to see them win a cup. They never have and they are a good franchise for the league with a good fan base. Players love playing there but for some reason, they never seem to get far.
Dead on
Haha, hilarious!
Could it be any more obvious that the officials in this league are incompetent?
Habs are losing their cool here. Even the captain. Clearly their heads aren’t in the game, they’re still with #67 back in Montreal. Can’t blame them
Gio, come on man.
Pretty much, they’re not in this and easily angered.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Pure frustration. The last couple of days has been so emotional for all, I am sure it has sapped the energy right out of all of them
Need a quick Buffalo goal.
Some Hab life late in the period.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Halak and Price are both having a good night.
lol
He’s got no power in his legs, they shove him, he falls down. That and he’s got no decision making ability, makes Andrei Kostitsyn’s hockey sense seem on the level of Markov’s.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Thanks
Pouliot: Without Price, it’s 4-1
Price: Without Pouliot it’s 1-1

Right up there with PooPoo
Thanks
Three fights in the Bruins – Sabres game. Campbell, Lucic, and McQuaid.
what did gio do
** Buck Fruins **
Up until the last few minutes, our boys looked like they were skating in sand. Benny’s still in a fog out there…blowing his chance at staying on the top line.
Ya, there’s a similar CBJ one with a cannon and they both look good.
Random thought of the night: I kinda like the look of those St Louis uniforms.

I didnt say they would wake up THIS game

Max can you put a wake-up call into the dressing room….
Where can I find Thornton’s comments?
Only down 2-1 after that period? I’ll take it. I think we’ll score in the 3rd frame.
That city is a cesspool.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
With an American running the show, I doubt very much that comments from Canada’s Prime Minister will have any impact on Bettman’s day to day operation of the NBHL
Courtesy of boston spors talk radio:
BTW, these are the media guys not callers.
“Pacioretty should have known going into that area that defenseman like to use the stanchion as a weapon. It’s a game of chicken. He took a risk”
“I lost respect for Pacioretty when he said that Chara drove his head deliberately into the turnbuckle”
YOU STAY CLASSY’ BOSTON!
Chara’s first shift tonight Boston fans chanting Chara Chara Chara. The most classless team in professional sports, the most classless city in the world and the most classless — need i go on
What’s Sopel’s injury?
hey boone where can we find stephen harper’s thoughts?
found it
Well right now Chara is public enemy number one. But for me, next one the list is Campbell, then Lucic, then Thornton, then Marchand.
Halak’s posts will get a workout tonight. They are usually good for 2-3 stops per game
Eye for an eye, nah, just lose to the Habs in the playoffs and have every Hab player just skip shaking his hand while telling him they are so happy to beat the Bruins because they suck so much.
and the bruins are winning… of course
i want those douchebags severaly injured.. not all of them
but chara, horton, lucic and the pillsbury dough boy behind the bench

GWG = game winning gionta!
The bruins have offically passed the leafs and are back as the number one team that I hate the most.

Shall we say a 2-1 shootout victory with my boy Poolio steppin up somehow?
Can we all agree on that?
an exaggeration, yes.
But people who are crying it’s the “dirtiest hit ive ever seen” are seriously DELUSIONAL
Love notes between against him and JM?
Rememebr, Montador spoke out about the hit. Big Z sending a message the only way he knows how.
Dr. Lightman would have a field day with him.
Fairly punished, although that window of oppertunity is long gone.
#67 wouldnt – why should we?
i want 6 straight
I bet Chara didn’t even know Montador was on the ice…
So what’s the bounty? Dead or Alive?
Zdeno 2 mins for Boarding Steve Montador…
Hey, that St. Louis Coach pulled out his little notecard when his team took a penalty.
I guess he sucks.

Something like that. I never played it, and don’t know the nitty gritty behind it.

Watch the shifty eyes. He is without a doubt phased. The man is a liar.
I am going to transcribe this later and tear it apart. I don’t have time now as there is a hockey game to watch but let this be another nail in Bettman’s coffin.
Nice hands by White there
It’s also a Lotto Quebec game
Same here.
It’s a bush league and not even the good one at that.

Go Habs Go!
Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather they look at the NHL more than anything else. Makes more sense to me.
I certainly hope your boy takes this oppurtunity and steps it up, just like my boy Eller has.
Wow that’s pretty low.
he is a leafs fan looking for any opportunity to take cheapshots at habs players, coaches and fans.
He’s complete douche. Funny how all the Habs hating scum crawls out of the woodwork when something like this happens.

I serious doubt that there have been 100 more dangerous hits this year than the one on Max.
Will the commentariat give the boys a break tonight if they’re hearts are not in it?
I’m wit ya Bugs.
Great minds…
Damn fools….
Alright, time to get back into hockey for a few hours. Sopel’s absence worries me. We’re undefeated with him in the lineup.
I hope the Habs win but I have very little interest in watching this Bush League. Maybe it will pass. Get well, Max!
The difference is, this one came to a head, and it has to stop leaguewide.
then the police should start investigating every semi-dangerous hit this year?
Give me a break. I am a habs fan but I am also a reasonable person. Reasonable enough to realize that even if I’m angry Chara was not suspended, the police have NOTHING to do with this.
Montreal fans need to smarten up.
Damien Cox is an internet troll who works for a newspaper.
you are just emotional.
the police have better things to do.
For gods sake people let it go.
There have been about 100 more dangerous hits this year alone… they just luckily did not result in serious injuries.
I agree Boone, there is no other way to come to another conclusion unless your the NHL apparently
Players have complained about the glass in Montreal for years, this isn’t a new thing. However it still doesn’t make the glass responsible for Pacioretty’s injury. The glass didn’t pop up out of nowhere at center ice, he was pushed into it.
I hope this news makes it to The Habs dressing room.
Agreed. If “if’s and but’s” were cherries and nuts we’d all eat sundaes.

Wouldn’t know how that feels like …i can only imagine..
Max Pac is a trooper. I hope he doesn’t push himself..get’s the rest he needs and is back when he’s ready. He’s a star in the making.
Go Max Go
Go Habs Go
Not pumped by any means for the game , for obvious reasons. GO HABS GO Also , GO MAX GO !!! Get well buddy !!
Well , the other night was awfull , yesterday was confusing , and today is nuts….oyee
Hahaha!!! Awesome, D.
Because Chara’s hit was over the line, but so are so many others that fortunately do not result in horrible injuries like those that Pacioretty suffered.
i couldnt have said it better myself
Auld should be playing tonight so Carey can continue to rest for Pitts on Sat.

F@&K’N great post. Keep the dream alive! Time to move on folks, chin up.

no.
How about we do both, rename our player Karma, and have him hit Chara in the knees!!!!
Please explain.
Geoff Molson speaks…
“The Montreal Canadiens organization does not agree with the decision taken yesterday by the National Hockey League. We can assure you that we have made our position clear to Commissioner Gary Bettman, and that he has agreed to make this issue a priority at the next General Manager’s meeting, which will be held in Florida on March 14-16. Pierre Gauthier, our General Manager, will be present at this meeting and has already expressed his wish to carry out, clearly, our message to his 29 counterparts and to the League.”

I REALLY want to see price shut down jaro. that hame is a day away, not b2bs. and pittsburgh is good but they are not what they were earlier this year (clearly). nor has 31 shown any signs of fatigue.
i agree completely. the intent is clear.
it’s irrelevant if 999 times out of 1000 he doesn’t do it. this time he did!
bettman must go
You’re not out to lunch. I think that your assessment is pretty close to spot on.
i had a vivid, scotch-induced dream last night…
habs are playing in beantown, the clock ticking down on a 3-0 habs lead. boos and beer rain down on the ice as chara lumbers up the ice with the puck.
Win or lose, Cup or not, they’re the classless assh–es of the nhl, and everyone knows it. i can’t waste any more time on them.
no more of the maxpac thing for me. nothing can be done that will make me feel good about it. hope the boys find solace in his progress and can pull out a win tonight. i can’t imagine it’s going to be easy for them…
I’m not sure I follow.
And that disappoints the hell out of me.
Here’s an off-topic, yet funny, tweet to get our mind of all this doom and gloom for a min.
Buncha mouthbreathers.
Am I out to lunch here??
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Here’s the NHL’s commish responding to a major sponsor by saying essentially that they can do what they wish and our teams don’t have to fly their planes. And it’s a wonder why the NHL has trouble attracting fans.
Yeah. Go nuts!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

New Nickname? I think so.

GO HABS GO!!

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Not to mention that hard shot where the puck hit him in the crotch. Ouch!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Pure Steal Apparently.. gets a rocket in the ribs…back next day.
Now this..this guy is freakin’ amazing.
Go Max Go
Go Habs Go
Well said, donkey
Bettman says it’s part of the game. I didn’t know intentionally directing someone’s head into an inanimate object at full force was part of any game let alone hockey. You don’t have to be very intelligent, which Chara is not, to know this will cause serious injury if not worse. If it is part of the game then Bettman you and your cronies Campbell and Murphy get your skates on and be part of the game. I am sure we can find some people who would like to play against you. What a jerk
Feels great… give it a try
Read This Comment…i liked it “Now we get to hear hypocritical Bruins fans who cry every time Matt Cooke’s name is mentioned talk about how this was a clean hit.”
Go Max Go
Go Habs Go
i’m sick of all the IFs
if my grandmother had balls she’d be my grandfather. but she didn’t.
another on… ‘if it happened anywhere else, he wouldn’t be hurt’ …. it didn’t
it’s pointless to speculate on the hypothetical IFs when the facts themselves are there. and the facts are disgusting.
the league is a joke. bettman must go.
Dave Stubbs says Renhockey is saying Max has been released from hospital .Wow what is he made of.
brutal force and a steel post with precise timing…..that changes everything.

I agree with you that Chara had every intention of sending a message to Max. Problem is, the video evidence makes it awfully difficult to explain it away as nothing but an accident.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zq7b6QhVdA&feature=aso
The angle at 1:25 from the end of the rink leaves no doubt, in my mind, at least, that Chara had every intention of making sure that Max hit that stanchion.
Damien Cox, Toronto Star, on Sportsnet another idiot. Max did that to Chara Montreal wouldnt be saying nothing. I say if PK did that to Seguin or Marchand or Campbell he would be gone for the season.

terrible ice, favors a team built on lunchpail powerforwards like the Blues no? A team that relies on passing has no chance

while they may give effort i dont think you can have three forwards in the line up at the same time like moen, pyatt and white…all 3 are basically 2-3 goal a season scorers right now.
It’s amazing how Gomez puts fear in their eyes. They better watch out or else he’ll say something.
the ice seems like it sucks in that building

true dat – whoever recommended sending benny down in favour of dawes is baked
The one game we did win when trailing the 3rd was against Boston
Habs haven’t had one shot higher than top of Halak’s pads the whole game
C’mon boys. Win 2 nite and we’ll be only 2pts back of the sh*theads.
i was sitting at the red line at the bell centre for the 1 game we’ve won when trailing after two
im currently on my couch…….crossing my toes
Our team has been angry for 48 hours. Anger sucks the energy out of you.
They saw their friend and teammate lying in a heap followed by a media circus. Totally understandable.
Before dissing them, there are still 20 more minutes to play.
Hank upset with the league as well. This is awesome and about time the stars start speaking up.

Nothing Gomez has done tonight has worked, but he’s working hard.
This looks bad. Desperation vs. non urgency.
I know how you feel. Hamilton’s a bit drastic though. I say move him back on his old line and bring Dawes up anyway… and sit Pyatt.
I hope the Ghost loses it on Monday on the cheating refereeing in general. We’ve been robbed all year – and it’s indiscriminate – all the zebras call everything real or imaginable on us, while our guys get cut up and nearly killed – and bugger all is called.
Cammy, Pleks?
somebody should lie and tell them this is the playoffs – maybe they’ll commit and finish.
wow… if there is a riot in montreal next time chara comes i am coming
this would be BIG NEWS…. please give the source
wow, expected, no class of course… still i’m interested on the reception he is going to recieve on the road, that will really define society.
?
are you kidding? did the fans chant his name? i thought the game is in buffalo
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
How’s this for class. The morning after the ugly incident this guy comes in to work wearing his Boston sweater. Usually you wear your team sweater when your team wins. What the hell was there to celebrate? Your team lost 4-1. Oh yeah. I forgot. Your goon almost killed one of hockey’s most skilled players. Party on goof.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Then they turn in a game like Tuesday and what do you say? Yes they’re still a bubble but they’re above average really. And Max wasn’t the engine. He was a valuable component byt he’ll be replaced by someone…just not Benny I think.
***Subbang!!!***
Wow. Pouliot is playing himself into unemployment this summer.
On for both goals against and now a stupid penalty.
Pouliot… FFS with the o-zone penalty.
Okay, time for Benny to sit the rest of the game
- In Price We Trust
I agree. This is their “walk it off” game.
Pouliot is having a horrible game. This guy has got to get some consistency to his game if he wants to continue an NHL career
I was hoping for a more inspired effort tonite.
What a crappy, downbeat game. Well, they are the Blues, after all…
When I played soccer I remember one of our emerging young forwards got taken out of a game in a similarly Charaesque (huge, smart, ruthless, vengeful) way.
We played like crap the next game. Sucked the fun out of it.
He was ok in the long run, and so were we.
But a letdown tonight should not be taken as the sky falling.
Go Sabres!
More exciting than this game
Mara back in.
nice drive by Moen, more of that please!
Blind passes into slot = turnover
Not looking good … we got a breaking point early on Halak… now he has a lead to work with
I would rather see more of desharnais than more of pouliot
ooooohhhh goodie the Brier is on
The Habs should know to shoot high on Halak.
Alright. The “Max is gone and our team has fallen apart forever” stuff is a bit early and also ridiculous. It not even halfway through the first game since the injury and they played a good opening period. Actually just looks like the majority of our games this season. Let’s get ahold of ourselves, eh?
Brutal tonight, just Brutal
Wiz is MABbing it up tonight
Through this saga I’ve learned that people can believe just about anything.
This is BULLSH*T. That puck was a good foot offside. Even the St. Louis player couldn’t believe it wasn’t whistled down. What the F*** is going on out there?
Miss ya’ Max
Hamr sucks on the PP, Gomer just sucks
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
The Habs can beat any team on the ice, it’s been done before.
I always have a hold of myself but I am working through it with a therapist
No wonder the Blues surrender so few shots, look how boring of a style they play. 5 men in the neutral zone all the time.
Agreed
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
They look the same as they did when Marky went down…totally disorganized
Welcome to the new NHL – NASCAR on Ice
Habs are an average team..but they can really suck some nights and it makes you wonder if they play above their weight level a lot. Overachieve..but sometimes they are revealed. Without Price, this is not a playoff team. I really think losing MaxPac is going to hurt us big time..he was what we needed
Refs being awful selective with their holding calls
@Boone – no career-threatening injuries but take a look at the boxscore at 6:54 of the second period in the penalty column.
Go Habs Go!
POOPOO is useless
Easy Andrew, he’s not that far off though. It’s just disapointing to see someone like Benny continue to fall down and simply get in the way while someone like DD or Eller may be better in the spot. Iknow, I know…centres…but damn they bring so much more to the game than Benny right now.
***Subbang!!!***
Whatever you think is cool.
But putting “very” in front of “good” when describing this team is hyperbole.
Decent. Average. Not elite. To me that is closer to the truth.
Yeah… you’re full of it. Sorry but the Canadiens are in the top 3rd of the NHL, they have the 4th most non-shootout wins in the NHL. This isn’t a bubble team or an average team, this is a very damn good team.
I’m cutting them some slack for a bit. Maybe they juggle things and give Eller and DD more time. And White…why not eh?
***Subbang!!!***
Ya think??!
LOL..Benny is melting down like ice cream on the counter.
That’s the problem..If you have to rely on guys like Benny and AK..you are mediocre.

You KNOW that’s a load of garbage. Mr. Gauthier said NOTHING of the sort, and if that quote is factual, Gauthier will come out against it.

Pacioretty doesn’t fall down w/o anyone touching him on a regular basis. He takes hits and doesn’t exhibit horrendous decision making.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
The puck is bouncing all over the place.
Habs don’t look like they’re into it tonight at all, everyone seems to be mailing it in, except a couple of the guys.
Let’s focus on the Habs tonight … If I here about that team again, I might just vomit.
I saw about three penalties in about 10 seconds on that shift, only 1 gets called, sounds about right against the Habs
Google : hairy female junk. That oughta do it.
lol, yes and remind us all how much you think Eller sucks bugs.
Wow I have a whole new respect for Joe Thorton a man thats stands up and tells the truth. Joe certainly has no Bias for the Habs so your know he saying what he thinks is right. Hopefully this gets Campbell and Murphy both fired.
what were they chatting about? good bars in st. louis?
glad atleast 2 guys on our team can fight
Bruins take 3-2 lead, boxscore reads like a Habs fan’s nightmare
Gregory Campbell 10 (Zdeno Chara, Shawn Thornton)
These guys are sleeping!
Have we seen the last of Benny tonight? That giveaway was brutal!
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
What’s with the puck luck tonight? No passes are connecting, every shot hits a shin pad, every bounce is onto a St. Louis stick.
Pouliot isn’t Max Pacioretty on his best day.
And this isn’t his best day.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
And don’t forget his partner in crime Ed Snyder in Philly. Follow the $$$!!!
Come on…..
Ouch… stinky giveaway….
Crap. Went off the pad, than post, than in.
Habs have no interest in playing hockey tonight!
The Streak ends @ 5 & Halak wins the Goaltending battle
Anyone got a nice french link for frenchy over here?
booner scottrade is an online stock sharing and portfolio site
Just a thought:
Do you realize that now Lurch will have to pack a lunch everytime he visits Montreal? I mean, do you think he could ever order a meal at one of our fine eateries and not wonder who cooked it, or what the waiter/waitress might have done to it before bringing it to his table?
Enjoy your day old P&J sandwich, ya loser!
What gets me the most is morally, Colin Campbell shouldn’t even be in the position that he is in with the NHL.
There’s also the more recent Lucic cross-check to the head of Dominic Moore.
You will always be a Canadien in my eyes, Saku
Joe Thornton just gained a lot of respect in my book
I see the ref’s at the Bos-Buf game made an error. Chara called for boarding, clearly it was the boards fault and anyway, Montidor jumped into the boards.
This by Tony Mazzarotti in the Boston Globe today,
“Let us begin with the simple fact that Zdeno Chara had every intention of running Max Pacioretty into, as Carey Price called it “the turnbuckle.” What Chara did not expect was for Pacioretty to clip the glass the way he did, his head struck at such a frightening angle that Pacioretty was carried away on a stretcher.
pretty incriminating from a Boston scribe
The media needs to put pressure on the owners and question how Cambell gets a pass on the emails to refs about calls on his son. It’s just inexusable in a pro league. He was caught red-handed, and the owners are the only ones in a position to do anything about it.
Boston not favoured by the HAHA!
Reason why: Jeremy Jacobs , chairman of the NHL BOG and hardline ally of Bettman.
Not forgetting that he gave Campbells’ kid an NHL job when nobody else wanted him.
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
Habs have no life out there. They are lucky to be tied.
Have to move PooPoo this summer
Am i reading properly ? is Joe Thornton a UFA this summer ?
On his best day, he’s much better than Pacioretty.
SJ extended him, he’s also the most notorious playoff choker in the NHL.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Stupid question, when are the guys going to do another Hurley’s get together? I had a blast, despite the MaxPac fiasco. Would love to hang out again.
Timo in the long run yes
the first game back… they get a pass imo

GWG = game winning gionta!
Tuesday, March 15 · 6:00pm - 10:00pm
Outraged Montreal hockey fans have organized a series of protests, including one outside the NHL office in downtown Montreal on March 14. Another protest will take place outside the Bell Centre at the next home game on March 15.
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=195628350459031
This Facebook action alert has 900 people aboard, and is growing. I encourage any HIO member to join in peaceful protest and show your support for Max and all victims of similar injuries.
We can effect change if we want it. This is an opportunity to tell the NHL, and the world, how we feel about what has been done to our National pastime.

i can’t believe thie team…
how dare they take the night off when one of their freinds and teammates almost died 2 days ago
how dare they take the night off after finding out that what happened to their teammate is apparently A-OK with the league…
yup.. pretty “embarassing” huh

the kind of puck possession we saw in boston in the 1st two periods showed that we were starting to click. now chara ruined everything
the kind of puck possession we saw in boston in the 1st two periods showed that we were starting to click. now chara ruined everything
What gives?
• Pouliott was brutal but what can you do?
• Our D was terrible again. Inconsistent.
Get well soon Pac man.
Can’t win while sleeping on the job. And it was there for the taking. That Blues Team is piss weak at the moment… Mara got hurt on a stupid fight – great.
Here’s hoping they wake the F up. maybe JM can make them skate cobwebs out tomorrow.
Carey, Carey, Carey, Oi, Oi, Oi!!!
even if the terrible incident did not happen last game ..because of the build up and importance of winning that game i felt they would have a let down for a game or two..most winning streaks in the nhl usually dont last more than 5 games and when they do they are usually followed by a few loses…halpern scored but he just does not seem to fit with camm and plecks…i think dawes will be given a look…as mentioned earlier you just cannot have pyatt, white, moen in the line up at the same time …
Totally crap effort – so much for playing this one for Max. Useless.
nothing wrong with WHITE & MOEN… alot more names you could mention before them.
they will lose the next 2, maybe 3 games, before they find themselves again…
thats just the way it is, no sense complaining…
it’s a toss between the two. Two highest paid Habs – coincidence?
just for the record..add to the list of imbeciles = BILL WATERS
today (on radio) he stressed repeatedly that CHARA should NOT have been penalized,
it was NO PENALTY according to BILL WATERS
Wednesday March, 9th, 2011 – the day NHL Hockey “officially” died
I saw that and thought woah….a lot of guys are fed up with this.
Ya …1000 % agree!
I got the world’s smallest violin right here … I can play you a tune?
This is a blog get over yourself.
LETS GO HALAK
article link?
No problem, it gets tiring reading these idiots type out the same BS after every loss.
Got a small problem.
If you don’t have a US address with a Zipcode and “State” to fill in it rejects everything.
“I only like to watch and takes notes” JM
Crap…back to the drawing board….
I have not been able to find a similar site in Canada. My suggestion is to fill your address in the address line and pick anything, like 90210 for the postal code.
At least you know when you are being condescended to.
Thank-you Sabres …just seen the hi-lites,NICE!
Not to you morons. You now who you are.
The rest of you have my undying respect.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Im done thinking Benny will ever be a good consistant player, and im real tired of Gomer, working hard isn’t enough for me, He needs results
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Oh please, save the dramatics for the class play tomorrow. They were flat. Disgraceful? Feh!
***Subbang!!!***
Dude, it’s definitely Sopel being gone..
That entire game looked like the 3rd period vs Boston.
Lethargic! No effort!
Chance to move into Boston’s backyard and zilch!
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
Halak did not even build up a sweat tonight. The boys were not really here tonight. Understandable but they need to get back to the job at hand.
Time to sit Pyatt and bring up Dawes.
You’re worried about stats? You and Dean should get a room.
***Subbang!!!***
Well boys and girls, here’s your chance to let NHL sponsors know how you feel and ask them to follow Air Canada’s lead. I don’t have emails for all of them and some of the emails I have are likely not to the best person but it’s the best I could do.
http://www.citizenspeak.org/campaign/captain-ahab/tell-nhl-its-sponsors-and-marketing-partners-have-had-enough-vicious-hits
I really think Cammalleri has surpassed Gomez as being the most completely useless person I have ever seen on ice.
…….sure.
Your gasket is perpetually loose.
Pyatt will always be hanging around JM loves him and his hands of stone!
Pyatt rarely gets deeper than the hash marks and a forecheck isn’t in his vocabulary.
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
The team is worried about Pacioretty’s health and career, you think Carey honestly gives a **** about his GAA and Save % right now?
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
LOL…thanks I needed that.
thanks, must have had something to do with CAP space, because i always liked D’Ags… oh well…
someone mentioned calling up DAWES, could be a good idea…

It could very well be the start of a losing streak, and it could happen to ANY team in the NHL. Nobody here has the answers because they are not on the ice.
It’s on TSN Front Page, check it

Bettman sure has some arrogance given the situation with the league. He definietly can’t afford to lose business. As of now the NHL rates below MMA and is in a tie with the WNBA.
I’m with the Majority, loving NHL hockey less and less everyday,
don’t know how long I will keep coming back,
I have many members in my family, my dad, my mom, they used to watch each and every game even listen on radio if it was not televised.
since the lock out/player strike, they have never watched 1 game, that’s it caput, they are done, could not be bothered, they currently know nothing about the team and could not care less.
I might join em

NO WAY
Habs definitely don’t have it tonight…they’ll squeak away with an OTL point though
Message to Gary Bettman.
Mr. Commissioner, sorry doesn’t mow the lawn.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Who’s wearing the Bulldogs jersey behind the Hab bench?
Two great PP’s so far tonight!
I want to see if Chara is booed/heckled tonight
Wednesday March, 9th, 2011 – the day NHL Hockey “officially” died
“Chara…Chara…Chara” was the chant…digusting…
Agreed on all points. The only reason I’m ok with continuing to support (the Habs)…is because I know Max would want us to.
………..
“Thank you Cammy for making my day even more amazing!”
I STILL BELIEVE. I WILL ALWAYS BELIEVE.
Cammalleri: “I almost feel bad for a guy who plays an NHL career without experiencing what it’s like to be a Montreal Canadien”.
Taking Patches out seems to have done considerable damage to the rest of the team, too.
Dammit. Hopefully they play this PP better then the 5 min one they burned last game.
Discuss !
Would anyone think a couple years ago if Chris Higgins was told he’d be on a line with Max Lapierre that he’d be saying “It’s a great opportunity”?
It’s looking like Patches was the glue that held this team together.
Here’s an idea for the PP, play Subban. Enough with putting him on for the last 20 seconds of the PP the last 10 games. FFS.

WOW Komo just hit Carcillio from behind ….. 5 and a game….
I had lulz at this tweet:
That was a win-win hit. Useless Komisarek gets tossed and may face a suspension, while scumbag Carcillo gets a taste of his own medicine.
The NHL has reconsidered its decision on the Chara/Pacioretty incident.
Gary Bettman anounced…
“Following a careful review of the facts, the NHL has decided to impose a five-game suspension to the glass partition.”
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
incorrect.

He did keel over on one shot; looked like he got it in the hoo-ha.
Benny had a crappy period. He’s got to step up… or he’ll be steppin’ out.
At least there weren’t any dangerous hits.
Nice to see the players speak up.
These are nothing more than my thoughts by they are things that are in the realm of possibility:
***Subbang!!!***
this is how you spell chara in hebrew –> חרה
it means sh*t , literally. coincidence? i think not.
look it up on google translate if you don’t believe me or just ask a jew
.. could be hurt. Not about his play…
If he was stung that bad, they would have made the change.
Even the St Louis announcers are baffled that Gomez got the boot from the faceoff circle.
They were equally baffled by the call early on Cammalleri.
Does this team ever get the benefit of the doubt?
Pffft! It figures that Gomez would pick tonight to play another one of his cheesy, I’m too smart to play all out, all the time kind of games.
Where’s the meat, Gomer?
Hey Hal Gill hasn’t scored in quite some time. He’s due.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
WTF happened?
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Gomez taken out of the circle for not moving.
Price gets stung… next shot goal. Could be Auld next frame.
Carey showed that he wanted that one back.
doubt it
not really.. but man oh man pouliot cannot play with the least bitof pressure… did u see that ridiculous give away in our zone earlier
——————
GWG = game winning gionta!
I miss MaxPac.
Why?
Why the hell do our centers keep getting waived from the circle? That’s what caused that goal.
Joe Thornton says the Bruins are favored by the league.

- In Price We Trust
Why the hell did Gomez get tossed there? That just cost us a goal.
Dove
Damn, haven’t done the last minute goal thing in a while, that one stunk
The Blues should have been on the PP for 12 minutes, not 2. After recent events, the way the refs called that period is very disturbing.
Nigel Dawes – your phone is ringing. The Count will nail poor Benny’s ass to the bench for that face-off loss.
That one hurt…
The dreaded late goal
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Right into the crest, attaboy D’Agostini
That period was BS.
Halpern plays a lot like Dominic Moore – chips in the odd goal and never seems to make a bad play.
pouliot should be better by now…this is his opportunity to show he belongs on the top 2 lines…
Wow. Pouliot. I mean, how is this possible? The RDS guys were absolutely right, this guy crumbles under pressure!!
Yeah… if he doesn’t pot one, we’re done!
He’s actually pretty good at pronouncing names…it’s his “thing”
Pouliot’s a mess out there.
Crowd booing but there was a closeup on that and Pieterangelo dived.

guys, read the Arpon Basu piece it’ll calm you a bit – it did for me. Unfortunately and as cold as it sounds, the team has to focus on the 2 points and us fans need to transfer some positive energy for our team to perform well

That helped get me off the ledge. Thanks.
After last game I just have no interest in watching hockey for the time being. And I’m not just some fairweather fan either. Been a huge hockey and Habs fan my entire life.
Same here. I’m honestly questioning whether the investment of my time, money, and emotions is worth it anymore.
That the league is treating it as a non-issue makes my stomach turn.
and when I say that, I do mean that the NHL favors teams, the bruins being one of them. but they favor those other teams too
I’m sure marc savard feels the same way as thornton. I agree that this call is ridiculous, but its not just the bruins. pitt, washington, other teams get away with it too.
Pouliot, the Zack Wylde of the Habs.
Pouliot; whenever I think of him, I always remember his first 30games with the Habs, what a fabulous looking player he was then. Now when I see Benny, I think abt how much I miss Max-Pac with Gomer and Gio.
I still think Benny can be the player he can be. Give him time.
Word is he probably should’ve started in the ECHL, unfortunately.
change of topic, just wondering if there is any word from Hamilton on how shultz is playing down there??
oh, and Chara and the NHL head office suck mule balls!
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
These next 3 games could be the centre stage appearance he needs to shine as a performer. He may never get a better chance to prove his worth as a top 6.

Well, my boy fell down a few times, looked a bit frazzled, two brutal giveaways in d-zone on same shift, devastating face-off loss…few nice passes, one for Gio got the shot off Jaro glove-saved as well as nice backhand pass coming into zone end of shift.
All in all though? Terrible. Kid needs to step up now. No more excuses.
Lookin forward to 2nd period.
Terrible call.
Wow at those comments by Thornton. Good on him!
Go Habs Go!
Yup we have to give him credit for dat
And fix the glass ,boards and doors for safety. As well as getting rid of the hard plastic in elbow and shoulder pads
These Thornton memoirs are telling. Campbell’s son a Bruin. Not bizarre at all. It’s logic… and a blatant conflict of interest.
I suspect there have been worse. This league is bush.
***Subbang!!!***
Yep. There was absolutely nothing there that could have ever been viewed as a penalty. Looks like the habs are getting the opposite of sympathy.
One of the worst calls of the season.

It’s actually ridiculous how much holding the Blues are getting away with. One of their defensemen literally grabbed Desharnais and started shaking him around, but DD kept the puck.
LOL, I see whatcha did there.
While I’m glad we scored, the refs arm should have gone up there, but didn’t.
Exactly, I kept waiting for the refs arm to go up
looks pretty good to me.
That was about as dominant a shift as you can get. Cammalleri fouled about 5 times and never lost the puck.

“I went to see a fight the other night…And A hockey game broke out!” ~Rodney Dangerfield~
Habs better wake up
No no, don’t feel wrong about it.
I did.
I regret the spineless word comment. I’m angry. That’s way too strong. But PG really disappointed me.
Where is Mr. Gainey during all of this? I’d LOVE to hear a patented Gainey retort.
Yah, worst thing about that Ranger Win was that Kypreos and Healy both think that now they are above most others because they picked up jocksrtaps in the Ranger dressing room and got a ring for it.
You have to give it to Locutus Of Borg. He sits and sits and then comes in and plays well. Good for him

Great pass. Nice to see Habs get the first goal, very important.
MAXimum effort, boys!
how is that not too many men
What I meant was, anything that the Habs do will be punished, even more so than usual.
This isn’t just being under a microscope, though. there are 4 guys on the ice that can call too many men. None of them did.
The NHL is like a magician taking everybody’s eyes off of the officiating and the league disciplinarian like that.
Chara got an assist – 2-1 Boston.
how does Kubina get 3 games for what he did to Bolland last night – immediately after the league lets Chara slide and Bettman publicly states that they wont be overly policing hits to the head?
If i wasnt such a die hard habs fan i would wash my hands of this professional sport
I am a die hard… and I’m still close to letting go… I don’t even feel like watching the game tonight. Bettman is an abhorent human being.
whats with benny? i thought he would do well tonight on that line…yuck
He’s like a short kid at the counter. No-one notices him.
How many times does Desharnais need to get fouled to get a call?
Call it a conspiracy theory, but I wonder if the Habs are gonna be under the microscope after all thats recently happened.
DD hooked multiple times, no call. 7 men on the ice, no call. WTF is going on?
Thornton: latest hero (after Gazette hockey writers, Air Canada, Geoff Molson, etc).
Nice job gentlemen. Here’s your diploma…

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Too many men – St. Louis. How can they miss that?
If I’m air canada I follow through big time. Hopefully they are not the only ones. Fans should rally and demand that all NHL keynote sponsors do the same. Speaking of which, how eay is it to get a list of NHL’s sponsors?
So Mr. Bettemans response to Air Canada’s threats is “We’ll just find another carrier”?
This is beyond insane.
Glenn Healy valiantly kept the bench warm during the Rangers 1994 Cup win I’ll have you know! Oh and he made a great punching bag for the Habs in the ’93 Cup Run.
Good remarks, very true, NHL is the only game where the nobodies became the analysts.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Re: Goons turned Hockey Analysts
Our league is backwards in so many ways.
The Halak of the 1st two series in last seasons playoffs may have had that
Not sure of the claim process, but you can only use 4 call ups after the trade deadline, so they will be hesitant to call up anyone unless they need to.
if we need to call up forwards from hamilton who are the top 3…is it dawes, boyd(not sure on his waiver situation..is it the same during reg season and playoffs) and ?…it is going to be hard for dd to produce with pyatt and white on the same line…
Anyone else hoping for a 1-0 win, I always liked Halak. I dont want to beat him badly but i do want to win
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Carey’s doing way too much stickhandling on this powerplay. Just shoot, man!
Go Habs Go!
Thornton will probably receive more disciplinary action than Chara for his words rather than for action.
whatever happened to “stick and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me?” the NHL is a s**tshow
- Gomez is holding down the “overpaid” button
These guys heads are not in it. Sloppy….
More giveaways than an episode of “The Price is Right”

E.
Wow, the house of cards is really coming down. We need to keep on pushing it over.
Joe Thornton blasts league, feels NHL rules on Bruins side
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/joe-thornton-blasts-league-feels-nhl-rules-on-bruins-side/article1937767/
i can’t either.
it’s all fun & games until someone loses their…..
Not even the slightest bit of contact.
They showed the replay – a horrible call – nothing there at all. Puzzling.
Bugs, whats with your boy tonight?
Prospect Update:
RW Brendan Gallagher: Van Giants star Brendan Gallagher continues to make great progress from head hit Saturday. Rode bike Wednesday, symptom free. This is from Elliott Pap who covers junior hockey in Vancouver.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
BS. Shattenkirk had both arms around Gomez, no call. But Pouliot gets called for a bump.
Wow – cheapie for us and a blatant trip not called on them. Brutal.
Somebody posted a link to this somewhere around here. If I come across it, I’ll re-post it.
There have been worse, but not many. That one was in the upper echelon.
… or bettman is just lying.
Did you read the story for yourself? Bettman said that, with the exception of the two clubs involved, everyone else he talked to from other clubs was OK with the NHL’s decision. Nowhere did PG or anybody else from the Habs condone what happened.
Fan since ’71
Are we cursed or what? How is that a penalty?
wow we got hosed on that call
dito to that just not there anymore.
How is a battle for the puck where one guy falls a penalty? That is a sh*t call.
HAven’t seen the replay yet but it looked like Cammy was interfered with, not the guilty party.
Our passing is off – but the Blues look like an AHL team.
St.Louis all over those East-West passes

Meh, which team is in the playoffs and which team is in their 40th rebuilding year?
Still undefeated with Sopel. He’s our lynchpin, people!
?
***Subbang!!!***
Well that sucked…thanks Chara.
This was a team loss IMO. Flat from the getgo. Price held them in, but even he was handling the puck badly. Let’s hope they bounce back after this one. Can’t afford a losing streak.
At least it was D’Agostini. He had some nice flashes in Montreal and seems to be putting it together.
What a difference. It’s obvious that their heads are somewhere else. Just remember how deadly they were against Boston pre MAX incident. Come on boys, shake it off… there’s unfinished business yet.
I think we all saw that guy scoring right from the opening faceoff….
Meh.
The Habs hearts simply weren’t into the game tonight. Can’t say I blame them
Boston with in reach and …
Don’t read into the loss too much.
Wishful thinking on my part though.
How do you lose to this???? What a shartburger.
4 – 1 … just like our supposed “blow out” win last game.
That was an unbelievably brutal play by Gomez. Holy crap what a stupid decision.
Game wouldn’t have been complete without D’Ags scoring
- In Price We Trust
Disappointing but expected.
D’Ags with a big F U … and Price loses his head to head (not his fault)
Ouch!
Oh crap, now we’ve got to put up with neverlasting and his pious rumblings.
Sigh…when does it end?
***Subbang!!!***
Brutal by Subban!
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show”
LoL i was looking on HIO and shouted YES thinking it was our boys. Nope. hahah.
Still wasn’t really into the game though.
Yep,tough week for us Hab fans……………
I KNEW i would come on here and see Gomez getting blamed. Would someone like to explain how that wasn’t more on PK than Gomez? I know hes the golden boy and gomez is the whipping boy, but get real.
only JM gives up like that … Kirk had to remind him
In a way, I agree.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Almost time for the token tie the game pp opportunity.
These St. Louis commercials are soooooo bad.
“Start the season with a clean equipment bag and a freah bucket of febreze!”-CharlieHodgeFan
Have we even tested Halak? This is Boucher 3rd round all over again.
It’s obvious Max is still on their minds – just going through motions
LETS GO HALAK!
TRAITOR! lol
I now fly just south of Fort McMurray. That pic is back home in Smith AB, 4 hr drive from here.
Cool, I have a parkflyer I boot around with at a park in Montreal. Needs a new prop and a few repairs after a hard landing.
zing! True
Glad Buffalo won 2night…too bad Gruins still get a point
Sabres in OT
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
He’s had a trip to the box tonight Ian.
Tim “The Flopman” Thomas flopped around on all the 4 goals tonight!
Sabres! Fu%K U Boston!!!
