Not easy, of course.

Nothing ever is.

But big.

    Total BS

  2. HabFanSince72 says:

    Wow we suck.

  3. Shiloh says:

If it keeps happening it’s not unlucky – it’s part of the deal. These refs will never get shit if they screw up and it hurts the Habs. They don’t have to worry about Colon-cancer’s e-mails or their job security. It just happens over and over and over again. Bad refereeing – sure. But there’s no consequence to them when they shaft us.

  4. olematelot says:

and these are supposed to be the best officials in the world, total incompetence

  5. Just another reason to hate all Officials!

    Incompetent!

  6. Da Hema says:

Hard to take this league seriously anymore….

  7. JIMVINNY says:

I’m still amazed. How can that happen? A missed BLOODY high stick that leads to a shutout breaking two on one goal. All four of those idiots should be fired.

  8. Nahlsy says:

And while the Habs were getting screwed again in Montreal, the Canes were winning it in a shootout elsewhere.

  9. t1tan5 says:

Boone, I think the make-up call is prevalent everywhere in sports.

  10. Rudy says:

Too bad McCreary screwed that up, idiot!

“Start the season with a clean equipment bag and a freah bucket of febreze!”-CharlieHodgeFan

    • He’s not an idiot just because he didn’t see the high-sticking, assuming that is what you’re talking about. Every ref misses calls, the good ones, the bad ones, they all miss things. That’s why there should be a coach’s challenge. Not everything can be both witnessed and called correctly 100% of the time in real-time.

  11. novahab says:

Really is there any doubt what the refs are doing. This has been bad for two years it is worst now that Bettman is pissed at the Molsons.
The WWF this league is as phoney as a three dollar bill.

  12. go.habs.go says:

Sometimes, this sport is laughable. And the league is most certainly a joke.

  13. cheezboie says:

Another argument for the once a game coaches challenge!

Gomez for captain of the Hamilton Bulldogs!

  14. doogie says:

Thrashers are just pounding the Habs at every opportunity. They knock ‘em on their arse every shift.

  15. This is one of those games where you wish the Habs were a dirty team. Atlanta has been handing out cheap shots all game. Someone two hand Kane or something.

  16. _Habsoloutly_ says:

At least we got the make-up call right?

  17. JasonM says:

This is why I hate the NHL. They’ll find all the stupid calls but things like sticks in the face goes completely without notice. Remember Koivu?

How can this goal even stand and ruin a team’s hard work for 2+ periods?

  18. punkster says:

Unreal. Accidental? I thought a high stick was a high stick?

    ***Subbang Baby!!!***

  19. How much crap has to happen before they allow coaches to challenge? This game just completely changed because of a total blown call that could have been very easily altered were proper rules in place. Come on, Habs, bounce back and retake a 2-goal lead, please.

  20. HabinBurlington says:

Team has to suck it up here and overcome bad call

  21. sidhu says:

Muller is the one showing emotion, yelling at the ref. JM is just standing there like nothing happened.

  22. JIMVINNY says:

WTF. What a load of crap. That is inexcusable.

  23. larisalapointe says:

F%#@*&CK…there goes the shut-out on a missed call.

  24. Nahlsy says:

So if you get tripped you get a penalty but if you stick a guy 6’8 in the face and cut him it’s not a high stick? Ok got it.

  25. Keith says:

No wonder the NHL is such a Bush League!

  26. t1tan5 says:

Woooow. That’s just brutal on the ref’s part.

  27. OneTimer says:

    That is some bull%$#@

  28. cheezboie says:

Should be a high stick but
    Sopel!!! BUM!!!

Gomez for captain of the Hamilton Bulldogs!

  29. And Antropov is laughing. Unreal. You’re better than this McCreary.

  30. Da Hema says:

How did they miss that in the first place?

  31. HabFanSince72 says:

Not good. But then again why haven’t we been able to score another goal?

  32. JasonM says:

How did 4 officials miss a stick hit the side of the eye of Hal Gill fully standing.

  33. HabinBurlington says:

Yup that is our NHL no conspiracy at all, unbelievable

  34. hansolo says:

Now we’ll see if the officiating is rigged…

  35. solomio says:

Benoit says that was accidental by Boulton. No fkn way!!

  36. sidhu says:

This ATL announcer is crazy — when you get hit in the face, of course you are going to reach for your face. It’s not to sell a call.

  37. go.habs.go says:

    absolutely not! that was pathetic.

  38. JIMVINNY says:

That HAS to be called back. Unquestionably.

  39. Keith says:

    That’s absolutely brutal non-call!!!

  40. _Habsoloutly_ says:

    Brutal missed call on Gill!

  41. HabsFanInVictoria says:

That is brutal. Even worse, they scored as a result.

  42. One of the worst non-calls I’ve ever seen.

  43. RGM says:

When people talk about the coach’s challenge we have Exhibit A. What a crock.

Carey Price is All Hart! http://on.fb.me/CP31Hart
    Go Habs Go!

  44. avatar_58 says:

What the shit is this? HORRIBLE reffing job

  45. WHAT THE HELL!!!!! Gill is cut open and no call?

  46. _Habsoloutly_ says:

Gomer headbutts Kane! hahahahaha. Gomer are you trying to get yourself killed?

  47. sidhu says:

PK, take some acting lessons from Natalie Portman. Benny, taking some skating lessons from PK. Natalie Portman, take some lovin’ lessons from sidhu.

  48. cheezboie says:

star of game thus far – Price
    Bum – Sopel
what to do? Weber for Sopel next game…

Gomez for captain of the Hamilton Bulldogs!

  49. Bugs says:

Gomie got away with a Zidane.

Chillin like MacMillan, potty-boy says he’s L. B. Potter, esq.

  50. Nahlsy says:

Shootout with the Canes and Caps

  51. Rudy says:

Not even PK could have embellished that

“Start the season with a clean equipment bag and a freah bucket of febreze!”-CharlieHodgeFan

  52. HabFanSince72 says:

Replay shows PK did dive a bit.

  53. avatar_58 says:

    Uhhh…what did Subban do??

  54. Nahlsy says:

    Ummm nice calll???

  55. punkster says:

    WTF?

    ***Subbang Baby!!!***

  56. JIMVINNY says:

    That’s a brutal call. That isn’t a dive.

  57. HabFanSince72 says:

Why on earth did we trade for Sopel?

  58. SLYDER says:

and to think, i was just about to give gomez a pass tonight…loser

and ya, how does the ref not call buff for interference?????

  59. larisalapointe says:

    Ok more Habs goals please…….

  60. How was that not a penalty on Byfuglien?

  61. HabFanSince72 says:

Sabres lose. Didn’t realize they were only 2 pts behind us with a game in hand.

  62. Nahlsy says:

Caps and Canes headed to OT, hopefully the Caps score one here.

  63. Incredible how many borderline hits there are in this game. Atlanta really walks that line.

  64. sidhu says:

Good for AK46 sticking up for himself

  65. punkster says:

Man I hate this 5 post limit. Can’t keep a discussion going too long. Maybe that’s the point.

    ***Subbang Baby!!!***

    • Da Hema says:

I wasn’t aware of that. Posting limits, je jeune thumbs up/down “feature,” no “new post” indicator, and a gravatar site that has increased spam to my email account by 500%.

How can I give a thumbs down to the designers of this site?

  66. habs001 says:

pp opportunities leafs 4 sabres 1…i guess ruff yelling at the refs only works vs the habs

  67. habs001 says:

after 2 years of saying that we are getting a lot of chances but bad luck and facing every night great goaltending just maybe it has something to do with the goal scoring skill level the teams has

  68. ABHabsfan says:

One thing I have noticed watching tonight’s game; that Thorburn guy is one UGLY dude. Good thing he is an NHLer or he would never “make any friends” so to speak

  69. habs001 says:

moore,grabs,sk74,dags…if we had 4 forwards in the line up that had these players stats this year instead of pyatt, white, eller(this year),halpern we would be a major contender…not saying this players because they probably would not work with martin…

  70. habsguru says:

BP needs training wheels, JM needs Dr Phil, and SG needs a back rub from Sarah Palin!

  71. JohnBellyful says:

The thumbs rating system looks like it’s here to stay so like any good government would do with something few like, HIO should make it full-blown. Come up with an expanded version that posters could use regularly to evaluate players’ performances. After each game Hockey Inside Out would have one thread made up entirely of the Habs’ images and fans could use the following symbols to express their feelings (no thumbs up, down here, folks, but it is digital):

Forefinger pointing upward – Good game, fella
Middle finger pointing upward – Gomez, you suck (may be used with other players)
Thumb and forefinger form O – Nice work
Forefinger, middle pointing horizontally (the Moe Howard attack gesture) – Idiot!
Pinkie finger thrust up – What are ya, a Lady Byng candidate? Go into the corners!
Four fingers split into two (Vulcan sign) – Outta this world, man
Fist up, thumb facing out – Yo da man!
Fist up, facing the other way – Buddy, if you were here right now …
Forefinger, small finger up, middle fingers closed – Love ya, man
Thumb, forefinger form L – Loser!
Hand flat out, palm down – Comme Ci, Comme Ça

  72. habs001 says:

while we are ranked 10th on the pp that is a bit of a mirage…our pp mostly has not been reliable to score the big goal when needed..we have had streaks where we scored 4/7, 4/10 on the pp but our pp goals have not been spread out…hammer and mara on the point will not produce too many goals but martin keeps putting them out there…just like last year with gorges…
