The Last Waltz. After 17 years on the road together, THE BAND decides to do one last performance and then call it quits. Makes me wish they could have been switched at birth with the Rolling Stones.
just realized i booked a going and return flight to los angeles smack in the middle of when the habs will probably be playing their first round matchup. and sandwiched between the flights is an all day music festival (coachella) which i’m obviously excited for, but this potentially means I could miss the first 4 games. Guess i’ll have to pray to the scheduling gods.
Sorry, I don’t read the comments often because I’ve been busy, but was that supposed to be a wise-crack? I don’t understand. I’m curious because Halak is showing signs of genius. If he can carry the Habs to the second or third round, I’d probably sign him if it was not possible to sign both. So if Price were to be dealt I was curious if they could get a top 5 overall pick for him, or do the wielding those picks not need goaltending?
Rumour has it that Neil Young had a big white cocaine snot hangin’ out his nose for this performance which had to be edited out later. Look at around 50 seconds on and you’ll see an uncharacteristic black shadow hangin’ out Young’s left nostril. It’s actually the edited out horker noogie.
In case you didn’t notice, there was an Alexei Kovalev sighting last week when Ottawa’s enigmatic winger netted the winner against Washington. It was his first goal since Feb. 14 and ended a skid in which he played 12 games without a point.
Apparently, that didn’t qualify as a slump.
“I didn’t have a slump,” Kovalev said. “That’s what you guys call it, slump. For me, I play the game I always play. Look at it this way: I’m just doing my best. If it works, it works, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. What else can I do? I’m not going to go out and buy a gun and shoot myself.”
The Oilers blew their chance back when they tendered the offer sheets to Vanek and Penner. The obvious chocie would have been Lundqvist in New York, but Lowe being Sather’s buddy didn’t have the balls to do it.
Hockey Inside/Out encourages lively debate, but there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism, profanity and behaviour that we deem to be offensive.
We will, without warning, ban those who do not abide by this simple rule, so as to maximize the enjoyment of readers and participants of both sexes and all ages.

I think it was a wise-crack. It’s because Price was a top-5 overall pick.

Slump? What slump?

Frame by frame.
I wish this should be THE Habs’ theme song after coming off back-to-back wins with Shutout Halak:

Play it loud, play it proud!
I’ve seen that avatar like ten times already but each time I see it still cracks me up.
Draft idea: Due to lack of goaltending and the Oiler’s profound need for a quality netminder, we ship Price and Hamrlik for the #1 pick.
Sure. They are really that stupid that they would rather get a #2 goalie and a #4 D man instead building a winner around Taylor Hall.
The Oilers blew their chance back when they tendered the offer sheets to Vanek and Penner. The obvious chocie would have been Lundqvist in New York, but Lowe being Sather’s buddy didn’t have the balls to do it.
Not that I want to send Price off, but never underestimate the stupidity of the Oilers FO.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
