I knew Pk would get this sometime! Just needed one sleppy team to pounce on. Minny was the worst opposition the “Habs’” Faced tonight. I love PK but to me Ryan White set the tone of the game.
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and modestly suggest the chance that Soobs may potentially one day possibly become a somewhat quasi-legitimate pro hockey player.
Maybe.
The only problem, of course, is one may have to sit through another one of these truly uppity and disrespectful hatties.
Giving PK my spaghetti supers has finally paid off. He is the next Bobby Orr that I have told you all before. And he has a lot more that you have not seen yet.
This new site is fantastic now, I was totally out of line with my frustration! HIO 8 to 1, your the very best.!
Ian, I watch 200+ games a year in the NHL right now. The Habs almost every night, Hawks, Kings, Red Wings, Capitals or others when I’m just looking for a game.
I can’t think of another guy playing right now that combines skating, strength and hands like PK does.
It’s what watching sports is all about… seeing people do things that make you say “ya gotta be f…ng kiddin ME. And as you say, to think this guy s in Montreal… incredible!
I posted on here when we drafted him that he was a cross between Brad Park And Bobby Orr. But by then I had got to know him personally. I told PK all about how it would be in Mtl. and that if he continued on the same course that he was on, he would be the next Gawd of Mtl. He ask me what I meant and I showed him my tapes of the old days and he just drooled with excitement.
Great game — PK hatty, White played well all around. My favorite moment: when White and Mara challenged Clutterbuck. We should re-sign Mara, he’s been solid since he came back, and he should be an affordable #6.
The passing was so nice to watch during this game. Towards the end they started missing some low percentage stretch stuff but that was perfectly understandable given the score. I love the way they kept the offense going rather than falling back into a shell. I give credit to our younger, hungrier players. We need our vets to step up for the playoffs. Cammy looks like whatever was bugging him physically has passed. Gomer made some nice passes and Gionta played his usual solid game. Let’s shoot for 3rd or 4th place! Get well Pleks, Patches, Spatch and Sopel!
I only had opportunity to see first 15 mins or so of first period before I had to leave .. I thought after the second goal they did let up. I rememebr being pissed at them for allowing a team like Minny to dominate for stretches after the 2nd goal. Obviously I missed the funnest part of the game since I had to leave. LOL.
So Don Cherry are you saying someone is going to get PK or are you wishing out loud someone gets him. Worst, is Cherry tring to get PK hurt and he putting a hit out on him.
The problem with the PP is the same problem they have suffered with for the last Two years. They can’t pass or recieve a pass. I don’t know how any coach of a NHL team can watch this for two years and not drill them till they drop on picking up and making a pass.
That late whistle was ridiculous (should have never stalled that long) But at the end of the day the SO was Auld’s to save 1 on 1. (anyone catch Price smirking – I’m sure there’s a little competition between teammates)
I can’t remember the last time we had 8 goals – but its something given the amount of speed and talent we should see more often then not.
I give props to JM for finally letting some offensive action – our PK was inpenitratable, but the one thing that cannot be overlooked is how lost our PP is. Yes Subban converted one – but not converting a 5 on 3, giving up 2 on 1s and scoing chances and not being able to set up and stabilize until 20 clicks are left will kill us under any other circumstances.
Our 5 on 5 is finally at its pinnacle – something a lot more important than an impotent powerplay – which is very unlike the Habs of the last 5 years.
I could have had 4 tickets for this game – but would be looking at a 5-hr drive through freezing rain/sleet to get home. Lots of company, though – a couple of hundred from here to see Alex Auld and Tommy Pyatt do their hometown proud.
Bottom line when the other team isn’t given every advantage by the refs and the other team is not allowed to get away with murder this is whats happens. Also Miinny was tired and I don’t think they really cared they know they are out of the playoffs.
Other than a game in 2008 against Boston in which the habs won 8-2, there hasn’t been a Canadiens game this lopsided in well over a decade. I took a quick look and couldn’t find a higher scoring game for the habs as of the 1999-2000 season when I stopped searching. Since then, they’ve scored 6 goals a number of times, 7 a few times but they’ve only scored 8 tonight and on Jan 22, 2008. I’d be curious to know the last time they scored 8 or more goals prior to that 2008 game if anyone else wants to keep looking. This is clearly the most lopsided game for the habs in at least a decade. Fantastic! If only they had played this game against the Rangers
You go to love the refs in this league they just need to be involved in the play and the out come of a game. Maybe its because they are are failed hockey players. Maybe it because head office tells them to do things like that.
Hockey Inside/Out encourages lively debate, but there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism, profanity and behaviour that we deem to be offensive.

geee bt the posting is faster isn’t it???
bONNE ENJOY THE HIGHER profile. maybe you need to do a refresh on you avatar like i did.

Fortunately Don Cherry only wears weird ones on holidays.
lemme tell you next time his contract us up we’ll be damm lucky if we can keep him.
1 point behind Booins (2gms in hand).
Sabres, Booins, Caps. Tell tale week.
My first reaction during PK’s Loop d’ loop goal was WTF are you doing? What an incredable goal.
“prediction, auld will have to steal this one” another boone reverse jink!
Only sucks about this game is that the Habs are 2 goals short of getting us another serving of chicken wings!
Hey Bum! I’ll by ya dinner.!
Do they double up at 10? I did not know that!
Someone had a great comment on Twitter – “if they score ten I want the whole chicken.”
Giving PK my spaghetti supers has finally paid off. He is the next Bobby Orr that I have told you all before. And he has a lot more that you have not seen yet.

Nice to give the edge of my seat a rest tonight.
I’m just glad the good guys like you Ian are still around even thought the web thing is still a little wonky.
It sure is a pain in the but.
Ian, I watch 200+ games a year in the NHL right now. The Habs almost every night, Hawks, Kings, Red Wings, Capitals or others when I’m just looking for a game.

There is one word that describes PK Subban – Magic.
We are so lucky to have him on our team.
It’s what watching sports is all about… seeing people do things that make you say “ya gotta be f…ng kiddin ME. And as you say, to think this guy s in Montreal… incredible!

PK is the real deal and you can book that.
Great read Ian, You are lucky to whatever you do that gives you the access.
Keep the stories coming.
Damn, youtubing “Stoner hit…” is not returning hockey-related videos at all.
lol!
ohhhhh mama… what a game..
feel bad for minny and loved cbc ripping clutterbuck and stoner a new one
Okay, the new website is officially freaking me out.
Remember when Jose Theodore was poised to become the next Patrick Brodeur??
Great game — PK hatty, White played well all around. My favorite moment: when White and Mara challenged Clutterbuck. We should re-sign Mara, he’s been solid since he came back, and he should be an affordable #6.
Wait for the rest of the “hockey experts” trash PK for disrespecting the Wild by running up the score.
I have two words for those “experts” and they aren’t “thank you.”
Just wait until they see the rest of his resume. He is the next Bobby Orr. Believe it.!
I have believed it since Day One my friend. What a fabulous story is unfolding before our very eyes! Ian you know it!
We’re in good hands Ian. We have the next Bobby Orr and Jean Beliveau. Hope you’re right!
And don’t forget who brought them to us. Mr. Robert Gainey, I thank you again for the rebuilding of our organisation.
White with a Gordie Howe hat trick.
PK with a real hat trick
Auld being a wall
8 big goals and no let up.
What a sweet win.
Don’t forget Auld with an assist as well!
Yes! I just don’t get it why he didn’t get a star.
The passing was so nice to watch during this game. Towards the end they started missing some low percentage stretch stuff but that was perfectly understandable given the score. Good for “Les Boys” to administer a good old fashioned ass-kicking!
Eat it CBC! Ya douches!
“Its all Clutterbuck’s fault”
That name sounds a lot like Clusterf—k
That’s Buttercluck!
Up yours Don Cherry and Death to Matt Cooke! Boone, that’s my new rallying cry!
All of Boone’s pre game thoughts and predictions were wrong, Way to go boone, the ultimate reverse jinx
” Its not an obession, Its a way of life”
Boone is the best in the business.
absolutely, He is awesome, Best blog on the internet
” Its not an obession, Its a way of life”
In spite of it all, yes. It’s the people who make the difference.
Hell has frozen over (Toronto). Pyatt & White both score and we score 8. Time for a drink and a nice cigar.
Celebrated early with a Cuban Stock after the 2nd period.
Great way to celebrate. Just add an Appleton Rum and the world is good.
Even when PJ Stock in trying to be complimentary he’s still an a**
I think he did a good job tonight! Bashing the right people and congratulating the right people too!
PJ Stock is just trying his best to get the taste of crow out of his mouth.
PJ’s name is way too close to sounding like PK. He should change it to Fred.
So Don Cherry are you saying someone is going to get PK or are you wishing out loud someone gets him. Worst, is Cherry tring to get PK hurt and he putting a hit out on him.
Cherry has been a scum bag all his life. Lucky he had Rose, or he would have been pushing up Daisey’s long ago.!
The NHL schedule giveth and the NHL schedule taketh. Friday the Habs were the tired team against a rested team. Tonight the opposite.
I don’t want to take away from a total team effort but this game was over before it began.
Players I liked: Auld, Cammy, AK46 and all the young guys.
Young guys are really stepping up their game. Our furure is looking better all the time.
CBC being reasonable tonight.
Montreal (3) vs Boston (6)
you heard it first here.
Calder Trophy performance by PK tonight
The problem with the PP is the same problem they have suffered with for the last Two years. They can’t pass or recieve a pass. I don’t know how any coach of a NHL team can watch this for two years and not drill them till they drop on picking up and making a pass.
Don’s gonna rip PK for being too cocky again. Rookies aren’t allowed to score hat tricks.
SUBBAN
WHITE
AULD
That late whistle was ridiculous (should have never stalled that long) But at the end of the day the SO was Auld’s to save 1 on 1. (anyone catch Price smirking – I’m sure there’s a little competition between teammates)

I think WIZ and Hammer gets too long shifts on the PP.
Hey we’re only one point back of Boston!
Thursday’s game is going to be a barn burner.
A bean burner
Statement game from Pouliot.
I could have had 4 tickets for this game – but would be looking at a 5-hr drive through freezing rain/sleet to get home. Lots of company, though – a couple of hundred from here to see Alex Auld and Tommy Pyatt do their hometown proud.
it was definately good to see the boys from Thunder Bay play well!
Great win.
Auld deserved a star
I agree.
gg!
PK Auld White three stars?
subban white poulliot as chosen by the voters…
Bottom line when the other team isn’t given every advantage by the refs and the other team is not allowed to get away with murder this is whats happens. Also Miinny was tired and I don’t think they really cared they know they are out of the playoffs.
Yes. Any game that is not called completely against the Habs will result in a rout by the Habs.
Other than a game in 2008 against Boston in which the habs won 8-2, there hasn’t been a Canadiens game this lopsided in well over a decade. i think we won one earlier this year with seven goals to 3 or 2 i cant remember it was a couple of games after the 8-6 boston game
montreal 7 carolina 2
Montreal 8 Pittsburgh 0 Jan 10th, 2004
That’s funny, I must have skipped over that season then. Oh well! Still a great score
I am p’d I missed everything but the tense part… first 10 minutes. Sure sounds like was easy watching.
The only folk who havent’ been on the ice for goals are Carey Price, Nigel Dawes and Jacques Martin!
habs win by another touchdown
Now it’s time for Minny to pull the “goalie” out!
good way to rebound from the game against the rangers
Random music going on… lol
Get Barry manilow out of the booth…
I don’t care if we’re winning 15 – 1 …. the PP is atrocious
Nuke Paloosh! How can you miss that?! That was your moment!
I agree… not impressed with this cat.
I wouldn’t mind going into double digits on the scoresheet.
So it is almost certain that we will meet the Bruins in the first round.
We are unlikely to catch Tampa or Pitt, but might catch Boston.
so we will either finish 3rd or 6th, and Boston will therefore also finish 3rd or 6th.
Do these guys even practice the PP?
How this team has competed so well this year is amazing! If they can catch BOS maybe JM gets the Jack Adams??
New sniper Pyatt on the PP
come on jacques put your depth players out there instead of the PP guys, nevermind i just say pyatt
Hope PK gets one more.
Well lets hope we get some players back for Buffalo we will need them. White is a keeper and PG and JM better leave him in the line up.
I haven’t seen tenacity like this since the All-Star Game.
come on jacques put your depth players out there instead of the PP guys.
When’s the last time a dman scored 4?
Did Pierre Houde say the call was to Benny for diving?
2 more for P.K. would be the icing on the cake
For those of you that called the 4 – 1 W vs Beantown a blowout.
ah no … 8 – 1 is a BLOWOUT – which is what should be done everytime the Habs go into a 3rd period of a decided game!
I use to think maybe Bob Cole was getting old but I think he just drunk and doesn’t give a %^$#.
Can you get fired from HNIC? Wait, what was that guy’s name? Got canned for questioning the CBC bailing on a game for regularly scheduled programming?
Dave Hodge
Cheers, right, went to TSN. But your basic racism and general ineptitude are tolerated and rewarded… Nice business model CBC.
That’s why I haven’t watched HNIC or Cherry in over ten year. I could care less what they think, they’ve made themselves irrelevant.
Notice how Poolio has been drawin the calls tonight insteada gettin’em?
It’s about time.
Just what the doctor ordered, a good old-fashioned drubbing but poor Minny ;(
Geez….according to Cole all Pyatt had to do was put his stick on the ice to score. And the most excited he got all night was when Koivu scored.
Bob Cole is an anti-homer.
who’s the goalie coach for Minnesota? Did Pyatt really just score???
Calgary down 3-0 after 5 min in a must win game against the Ducks.
Me so happy! Can’t stop smiling…
You go to love the refs in this league they just need to be involved in the play and the out come of a game. Maybe its because they are are failed hockey players. Maybe it because head office tells them to do things like that.
That one is for the BS penalty shot!! They never blew the damn whistle in the scrum in the crease, tired of the NHL horrible officiating this season!!
haha, CBC gave the goal to Benny
good to see Price is making himself useful on the bench patting hamrliks face with a towel haha
Hey Boone, but it was BS when Torts called a time out up 6-3, c’mon now be fair,
” Its not an obession, Its a way of life”
