The problem with losing in the first round is that now we have to fight the Leafs and Sens for the good tee times.
This site is turning into the shopping channel
Great game last night. Pleanty of Habs fans there. Kudos for showing up in enemy territory. Hope the B’s can close it out in Montreal if not I will be there Wednesday. It is always a goodyear when the B’s can knockout the Habs . Sadly this series will be the high point for both teams because based on what I have seen all year and through 5 games so far neither of these teams has what it takes to win cup. BTW while he wears bklack and gold Marchant is a little puke. But as guys in my section say he is our little puke. Subban btw while really talented is a diva.
Kind of opposing fan you can have a beer with — cheers. On the two players you mention: I think Subban can outgrow what you call his diva-ness; but I reckon Marchand — whose playing qualities I grudgingly acknowledge — is probably a terminal little puke. (I’m not a big ‘hater’, but Marchand and Campbell stretch me.)
As for Round 2 and following, I believe that thing about the playoffs being a whole new season/anything can happen is NOT just restricted to the first round.
Nothing quite like the Habs-Bruins rivalry.
The series was over after we won the first two games in Boston and then didn’t even bother showing up for game 3 until it was too late.
Congrats to the Bruins, they showed us how play-off hockey should be played and that taking a 2-0 series lead means absolutely nothing if afterwards you’re just gonna sit back and relax.
The series was over when we choked last game, on to golf season to join the Leafs for Cammy, Gionta, Gomez and others.
“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “
Hey, look on the bright side. You’re happy.
Welcome to the newer NHL: The National Head-shots League.
So the Habs go out in the first round, BFD. It’s not like they were going to contend for the Cup anyway. They had Boston dead to rights and let them back into the series. They should be polishing their clubs.
this is a best of 7 series….unless you discovered new math, we are still very much alive!
I thought I was a angry Habs fan lol. We still rule the ratio of wins in series match ups against the B’s. They are not going to win a cup this year or who know when if ever plus 93 is closer than 72. The Habs are the best and forget the rest. Price needs to change his comment from “cowboy up” to “tee off time”.
Till next time….
White, Pyatt and Moen are well-rested. No great shakes offensively but they are capable of shutting down the other side. Martin should give them big-time minutes the first two periods of Tuesday’s game so our Top 6 players will be fresh in the third period when they can mount a fierce attack against a tired foe.
And anything that reduces Gomez’s minutes can’t be all bad.
LMFAO at the bruins losers posting here. You guys must have made a mistake on what site you were looking for. This is a hockey site, not N.A.M.B.L.A.
Your words, offensive as they are, might have carried just a tad more weight had the Habs not lost.
As might have yours, if not for the egregious spelling mistake (which you quickly fixed. Sly).
Toe, you’re in one hell of a mood. Why not just pack it in?
Look at your first sentence before casting the first stone Dickens. Your use of parenthesis and punctuation could use some work or better yet an editor. I’m just warming up!
A forgotten period vs “you’re”? Not even comparable.
Anyway, enjoy your rage-filled night. Please don’t beat your dog on the way up the stairs.
Am I missing something? I don’t find his posts filled with rage at all. Yet, your posts are chock filled with sissy comments. Do you sport a house dress during games?
Yes, you’re missing something.
As disturbing as their inability to score a fricken goal…. is there nobody on this team that can win a faceoff? I don’t think I would need two hands to count the number of faceoffs the Habs won in the two OT periods. That definitely didn’t help much on the slow ice tonight either.
Louis Leblanc will resurrect this franchise, you can make book on it! Two years down the road, he and Pouliot will be 1 and 2 in scoring, assuming the latter can complete just one shift without ending on his ass.
I dont know about Pouliot. Thats saying a lot for a guy who hasnt played yet. I hope you are right, but in the meantime lets not forget the current youth on this team, as subban, pax, eller, DD that are moulding into good players!
Flushing Gomez alone would be the best thing in the world for this team.
I’m not sold on Gomez being finished next year. I know, he has been on the decline the last three years, having said that, we wont have any choice but to keep him as we are not going to find another C. Yes, DD, Eller are good, but you dont want to rush them for the sake of eating big salaray. The way I look at it he can’t get worse.
YES!!!!!!! Bruins played a strong game. I know this is a Habs site, so I expect to hear some of the comments, but they did not outplay the B’s tonight. It was pretty even and they just didn’t get that bounce. Thomas is the MAN! We just need Lucic to get those cement skates off.
Congrats to your team, they picked up the huge win.
…But in no way was Thomas the “MAN!” in this one. Ryder, Chara, and the posts saved him on this one big time.
thomas was awesome, as was price!!!
Don’t get me wrong, he was very good, but he had some serious ghosts working their magic for him at the same time.
They both played well. I don’t think you guys would have let Price back in the country if he gave up that bobble in his crease with Marchand there…haha. It was a drag out knock down game…I think the B’s stepped it up but Lucic, Kaberle and the PP are still on my S*#* list. I’m not used to seeing OT wins by this team. I don’t understand how the Bergeron trip wasn’t a penalty shot either. Would have preferred that over a PP, honestly.
I don’t think you can really call that a pure breakaway. He basically cut in at the last minute, and I think that was what they were thinking.
Same way Chara’s tackle on Cammy in the 2nd OT wasn’t a penalty after they had just finished a PP or Marchand running Price over in his crease on that bobble was somehow not a goalie interference call. Bergeron looked like he fell over his own two feet and the stick was nearby so they called it, which was pretty bad considering all that they had let go prior to that. Marchand drops the gloves and starts throwing and they each get two mins for example, a missed icing call that lead to the Bruins’ first goal for a second example. The Bruins have no room to complain about officiating. (Case in point, their captain should still be serving a year long suspension and obscene gestures have been given suspensions when anyone other than Ference has made them as well). Not a big deal or anything, just nothing for the Bruins to complain about when their gift wasn’t big enough.
They did play a good game. These two teams are very evenly matched and the margin for error is very slim. Two errors in consecutive OT games is the difference between the Bs being up 3-2 and being out of the series.
Yes, good game played by both teams. I personally think that the B’s had the luckier bounces/breaks and thus the difference. Will be an exciting game 6 and me thinks a game 7 as the perfect ending to this year’s version of this historic rivalry!
Bruins clearly outplayed the Habs in my view — at least in the first two periods.
If only the golden oldies didn’t enjoy the watching the Bruins stand around in front of the net so much, this series could be over for the good guys.
Congrats on a good game, notably your extra goalies! I covet Horton, dislike but respect Marchand, and they both were allowed create far too much time and space for themselves. You are generous to refer to luck and “bounces”, but I think in fact our D let Price down, and our forwards — who must have looked scary to Bruins’ fans during certain passages of play — just couldn’t finish.
Like you, amazed by Lucic. Normally what you’d call “a force to be reckoned with”. Just not a factor, and possibly disrupting the line’s chemistry. Must be injured or sick, reminiscent of Joe Thornton whatever year that was.
I reckon there are equal chances of things being similar or very different on Tuesday night.
I don’t know what’s worse, Gomez’ failure to play like he gives a shit or Martin’s continuously playing him expecting some marvelous playoff conversion.
I’m beginning to think shootouts aren’t such a bad thing. Hate them with a passion but if that’s what got the NHL its billion dollar television contract … and improves our chances of scoring, hey, I’m all for it….Nah, scratch that idea, and pray to God it never happens.
I hate to be looking towards next season(I haven’t given up yet!), but what do you guys suppose we do in the off-season?
Getting rid of Gomez and Hammer is a must, we all know that. But our offense is so stagnant, so we obviously need someone else coming in, but who’s available?
You’d think a power-forward would be a good player to pick up(Having 2 on the team would be stellar, no?), but who could we get?
Not so much a power forward, but I’d say let PK have the reigns, let Markov walk, find a way to try to unload Gomez’s cap hit (or as much as possible) and throw some 0s at Parise since the Devils have no room to match it anymore.
I would love to have Parise on our team, but where would you fit him? I guess with Cammers and Plek?
I’d find a place I am sure. Maybe with Gio and Pacioretty?
That would be awesome, but who plays Center on that unit? I pretty sure the 3 of them are wingers.
Whoever makes it out of this series is going to be quite gassed. I expect Game 6 to be more of the same. We’ll win it though. That will be the difference.
In Darche I trust.
“To be irreplaceable, you have to be different”.
Go PK Go!
Cue the kings melt down Sharks just scored 3 – 1 now
After game 5 last year, Halak had made 123 saves on 135 shots.
After game 5 this year, Price has made 165 saves on 176 shots.
If you blame the goaltender, at any point, you’re a fracking idiot.
The last 5 Bruins’ goals have travelled a combined 15 feet off the sticks of unchecked players.
It is actually incredible (in the truest sense of the word) that people could blame Price.
Yet people find a way.
Gorges would have saved at least 2 or 3 goals also so his stats would be even higher.
nice stat !!
You are right, it would be idiotic to blame anything on Price. He brings a huge competitive spirit in the team and he is probably the most disappointed player at the moment as well. With all the efforts he puts in, I don’t doubt he is feeling really crappy. But, he has two more games left to play 🙂 and hopefully 12 more to win 😉
Web: http://www.habsindepth.com – For the Fanatics
12 more wins? You want to get within 2 of the cup and not win? I think you mean 14 more to win 🙂
Actually, as bad as a few individual player were in this game, the Habs actually took the play to the B`s in the 3rd and both OT`s. Price was money tonight.
However, once again, the inability to score easy goals and miss wide open nets come back to haunt you. You can only miss so many gimmee`s
that is a big issue right? DO they practice shot accuracy?
Okay all you posters, (and you know who you are)…please tell me when exactly “during the playoffs” is it that the “7 million dollar man” shows up?????
You’re too hard on Gomer. Sure, his play during the regular season wasn’t worth $7 million-plus but he’s worth every penny he’s getting in the post-season.
Time for another post from the glass-half-full crowd:
Two days off will give the Wiz a chance to heal whatever’s ailing him, and there ain’t a team in hockey that knows more about losing a series after winning three games than the Bruins.
that’s closer to cup a quarter full
go habs go
Some of these posts are bang-on. My thoughts…Price…brilliant. I actually commented just before Cammy’s turn-over that started the winning play, that he was awful tonight. Gomez and Wiz..worse than awful. D.D. fantastic. Smart coaches would have had Weber dressed in case a defenseman got hurt…so a defenseman gets hurt and we end up playing the others to death and then BRING HIM BACK FOR O.T.!! Just like last game, he is caught up around the blue-line on a goal…this time the winner.
And did you ever see worse coverage around the net. On both goals, I could have scored as there was no one checking and the net was WIDE OPEN. I fear we are done on Tuesday. Have some guts Martin and take Gomez, Moen, and Wiz out of the line-up. Dress and PLAY Pouliot, Weber (forward) and Mara. They couldn’t possibly be worse.
I agree completely. Cammy has been brutal and turned the puck over constantly tonight, including on the game winner. Don#t overlook AK. He was waek too. DD may have been the best forward tonight.
As far as Wiz…I think he is really hurting.
Price was lights out.
Really soon I hope…
JM has NO guts- Molson should have some guts and put JM In the pressbox and let Muller coach!
Habs have three days to regroup, strategize and prepare. I hear Lake Placid is wonderful this time of year.
Great game. Well played by both teams and I thought our guys answered the call. Too bad they couldn’t convert. A heartbreaker but this series is not over yet.
“Hate the Bruins like a sickness”
If the Habs can win two in a row they move on. I’ve seen this team do it plenty of times and they easily could have won the last two with a bounce here or there. It won’t be easy but anyone giving up right now has to look at their own heart. I expect our players like their chances, even with the disappointment – and I do to.
Yes! At least we got the point for OT again!
We are tied in points going into Game 6!
Just this: Price is the F. man. Without him, well you know.
Yup. all the losers who lay this on Price are braindead.
Not his fault they can’t score any freakin’ goals!
Sure is- Why doesn’t he score too? LOL
These guys put the effort in, unfortunately the result went the other way. That’s hockey.
I still think the boys will win game 6 and therefore have a decent chance at winning the series. To play the Bruins as even as they have says something about the character out there.
But of the 3 key injuries we have, the Max Pac injury is the one affecting us the most. He would have had a goal or two by now, and that would be the difference in a couple of these games.
Our season changed dramatically when he got hurt.
Exactly! All good points.
apparently you cannot commend someone for writing a good level headed post on this site! They lost its as simply as that, we didn’t get the breaks hopefully we will go on a 2 game winning streak!
Pacioretty ate the Bruins alive this year, he’d probably have 3 or 4 goals by now.
Give me a healthy Pacioretty and this thing is over.
So, the Habs got to play six more games than the Leafs to achieve the same result? Stop thumpin’ yer chests gang! I just ripped a fart in the great beyond that had more truculence than your whole team!
I don’t think you have to fart to stink the joint out. It’s your aura, man.
Looking at the puss on your pidgeon, I’d venture a guess he was victimized by Toe’s methane madness!
Thanks Seldom. Your avatar must resemble you a lot.
I don’t know if he’ll ever recover from your rapier-like wit!
If it were against the Laughs the Bruins would’ve been waiting after game 4…
I don’t know. I think he may be spot on!
Hey doosh –
Quite apart from the fact that you sound – and obviously smell – like one classy dude, if you have not, by now, realized that the Laffs – and their sycophant fans – are the joke of the NHL, and are actually suggesting that there can be any comparison whatsoever between the Habs and the Loafs, I suggest you get outta your mama’s basement, as, clearly, you are being rendered delirious by inhaling your own gas…
Can’t win if you can’t score. They had plenty of chances and couldn’t bury it. Eller’s looking more and more like a young Sundin out there every time he gets a shift, they have to give him front line ice time and see what he can do. Gomez, I’ve liked you your entire career and defended you all season, but you haven’t scored a fricken goal since February 5th and have only 2 since Christmas. It’s time to be a leader and volunteer for a checking line role since you clearly have no offensive abilities this year for whatever reason.
He couldn’t check bergeron last game and didn’t do anything tonight. Gomez is done.
Couple of cents from the peanut gallery:
1 – Heartbreaker of a loss but this team never gave up against a superior opponent.
2 – In the playoffs you have to play 4 lines if you dress them. I think our lack of depth hurt us.
3 – If Gomez was only making $4M per year we wouldn’t be on him as much but when you make big bucks the expectations come with it. I remember when Gainey made that trade and Doug and Timo were firmly against it. Mostly because of the salary cap hit. They were right.
4 – Even if we lose in 6 games, I am proud of this team. No one expected us to make the playoffs at the start of the year. Then when Markov, Gorges and Pacioretty are out of the lineup? These aren’t utility players but major components. This team never quit. I can’t ask for more than that.
5 – It’s been a while but with Price and Subban we have a solid foundation to build upon.
I’d be fine with his cap hit if he was trying or even seemed to be creating something that would give MTL a chance to score, which he isn’t. Not showing up in RS or playoffs? Inexusable.
– I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
To be fair, Gomez makes the same as the rest of the guys on his team in the playoffs: $0.
And he’s still overpaid!!!!
Yeah but his cap hit impacts the number of other quality players we could have on our roster. At least another $4M player for starters…if not greater when you acquire someone at the trade deadline. I don’t even want to think about us giving away McDonough…
I agree with most of what you said, except that we lost to a superior apponent, I think we proved taht we are at LEAST as good as them, if 3 of our best players were not hurt, this would have been over long ago !!!
Nice post. We will go back to Boston for game 7 & win.
I definitely agree with points 4 and 5.
Price, at 23 has shown he’s one of the best in the league.
With Subban is already a star and with Pacioretty it looks like the Habs might finally have a power forward that can score.
The Gomez contract was bad from day one. Is he the reason we landed Gio and Cammy? Possibly, but he IS expected to produce. He is a supposed “playmaker”… Playmakers get points- you don’t always have to score, but you cannot just carry the puck and lose it at the line 8-10 times a game, and not be able to “tap” in the odd pass into an open net… At this point his trade is looking to be up there as possibly one of the worst all-time… Actually, it may already be… Only one worse Leafs trading Courtnall for Kordic… (Good for Habs tho…)
Man, why can’t we play against a goalie like Niemi? 3 goals on 4 shots tonight!
Chara and Ryder made as many saves as Thomas did tonight, it’s not the goalie as much as they guys shooting at him being unable to hit the empty net. Thomas stole one from Gio of course, but it should have been over long before that.
I say we sign ryder to replace auld and play out. 🙂
Good idea. Save cap space by signing a guy that can play 5 to 6 games and use him the rest of the time as a forward. That way you don’t have whatever Aulds salary is sitting on the bench for most of the season.
In my opinion, worst players on the the ice tonight: Mike Cammellari and AK. Wiz looked slow, but it appears he is playing hurt.
Both had numerous giveaways all night. Couldn`t win any battles, and couldn`t take a pass. Even on the winning goal, Cammy gave it away in the B`s end which led to the rush, and AK missed his check at the point that allowed the shot.
Cammy has a few points in this series, but his 1 goal was a tap in and he has been invisible for most of it.
Remember, this series is not over. My money is on the Habs in 7. Cheers and Good Night!
Mine too Keith. Habs in 7 it should be. 🙂
The System has the Bruins right where it wants them. In Game 6, the true splendor of The System will be readily apparent to all!
I wonder if the kings will blow this lead tonight!!!!!! I bet all the Price Bashers wish we had Neimi in net for us!!!!!!
or maybe Robbie Lou. And don’t say Halak cause hes only won 1 more round then price so that doesn’;t make him a god either!!!!!
This series was lost in game 3 when we failed to score on the power play. Scoring so early in the game when Boston was trailing 2 zip and facing us on our home turf would have been devastating for them. When you have an opponent who is tougher and better than you on the ropes, you can’t let up for a second. We did, and it was an enormous sign of weakness. Make no mistake, Boston is a better team than the Canadiens; they are a more well rounded team for a start. If they weren’t such a bunch of chokers themselves this series would have probably been over tonight.
The Habs have no killer instinct , haven’t all year, still don’t now.
So, is the consensus is we throw Price under the bus? It was the in thing to do last season.
Don’t start. Price was great. Anyway there is no room under the bus as Gomez is already there with Jack Martin.
I think wiz was hurt but did dd sit? He was better than gmez.
Was being sarcastic there bud.
Sorry. I guess we are all a bit raw after that. It’s frustrating because we had them by the balls and let them up.
Price was the reason why we made it to the overtime in the first place and then to the second one. Thomas played good on the other end, but Habs failed to capitalize on their chances.
Too many opportunities missed.
Carey did everything right in front a D brutally outmatched most of the game.
Gomer should watch how Marchand plays the game. That’s how it’s done. Never quit and skate your ass off on every shift. Kinda like Gomer eons ago. I can’t stand Marchand, but he’s money for the Bruins.
How bout Eller and DD. I liked what I saw. Those kids are alright.
I originally said Habs in 7. So it must be.
Let’s go les boys. 21,273 and millions at home will be cheering you on at the Bell.
Can’t anyone understand hockey is a game of breaks, there are winners and their are losers. we played well enough to win. we actually played better tonight than our two home games. lets win game 6 and we have a 50/50 chance of pulling this off. lets not be sore losers and start blaming coaches and players, they all played well tonight.
you obviously didn’t watch gomez and wiz tonight
Seems like we’ve been losers three nights in a row….
We led 3-1 halfway through game 4, and then packed it in. That gets you a new coach and a new 8 million dollar player (once you get rid of the old 8 milion doar player)
Two games in a row we let a Bruin stand al by himself within a few feet of our net and score the overtimne winner. No deflections, no unlucky bounces, just guys standing there putting pucks into empty nets while our guys watch and sigh. No chance for our goalie, who pulled off multiple miracles already tonight.
Yeah, I’m liking our chances to win two in a row.
Perhaps if JM starts by sending Gomez to the press box….
Up two games, now lost 3 in a row…nice time for a losing streak boys, sigh….I feel so bad for Price, plays his heart out and he gets rewarded by his teammates with one frickin’ goal!!! Just once I’d like to see these guys give him some bloody goal support and bail him out for dam well once. He must wonder some days, what did I do to deserve to play behind such an inept defence and pop gun offence? Look who scores our bloody goal, Jeff Halpern!, are you kidding me? Gomez, Gionta, Plekanec, Cammi, AK46, they all need to take a good long look in the mirror. I had to laugh during the game when they showed Gomez yelling at someone on the Habs bench, unbelievable; the 7 goal man giving someone the gears, LOL!
im starting to feel like a leaf fan getting excited for next year
pac, gorges, markov this series is over long ago
One thing: on both goals one of our defencemen is, prior to the goal, way out of position, above the circles in the defensive zone. Gill on the first, Wiz(?) on the second. Very odd. Tough loss, my hat is off to all our boys, except for Gomez. I’ve been a big defender, but he really bit it out there today.
Gomez has blown since Christmas! Price did what he needed to do bail his teammates tim and time again! And how did his team repay him? By bailing on him on both goals… The 1st- Pleks leaving F.Marchand? and well the winner – FACK! Thanks Carey for standing on your head again for us fans.
By the way- Where is Pleks this series? We all knew Gomez was going to do shit, but Pleks too? Blow a 2-0 series lead, to get knocked out 4 straight to the F’n Bruins- WTF!
DD doesn’t see the ice in the 2nd OT. Was he too hurt to play or is JM just decide to sit him? cause he was great prior. No other team in the league would continue to give Gomez the ice time he’s getting, that’s just fact. DD and Eller should play with Gionta next game.
Excellent suggestion. They both saw a real growth spurt, matured a lot tonight! DD was so strong ’til he was hurt and Eller seemed unflappable.
Only JM f*cks with the young players like these- he HAS to go! We have no REAL future with him as a coach. Hamilton prepares these guys for the “show” and he treats them like crap.
Well, that’s all she wrote IMO. No way Boston will let the Habs win 2 in a row.
Was fun while it lasted though.
Props to Price, if he plays like this in Mtl anything is possible. Great bounceback game. The offense must wake up though we need 3-4 goals! Gio Cammer Pleky Ak46 where are you? And was it wise to play Moen or Pyatt ahead of Pouliot? When your offense is that anemic…
Cammy was out there- his aim was just WAY off… and Gio- well he will be handicapped as long as F.Gomez is his linemate…
Gotta add one other thing — how brutal were the Bruins fans tonight? Booing your team in overtime? Booing a team that just came back from a 2-0 series deficit and is on a PP in OT? Yikes! Since when did Boston become Philadelphia?
Montreal boo’s their team constantly.
I wouldn’t say constantly, but I agree Hab fans tend to be tough on their team. All I’m pointing out is most of the other fans are too — but of course you never hear about that. It’s only the Hab fans who are tough, apparently.
Heh bit of an exaggeration.
LOL just a little bit! LOL
We state time and time again we are the better team. WAKE UP CALL, it doesn’t appear that way. Time to put some defensive “sand” on the ice. JM what more do you need to see, suit up Mara!
Well, now that Wiz is out, that’s what’s gonna happen.
So, let me get this straight. Are you saying defense was the problem after a 2-1 double-overtime game?
I actually don’t feel too bad about the game. With the condition of the ice, you knew it would be a broken play that won it. Could have gone either way and you know the B’s feel fortunate to win. The slow ice evens the playing field with the lead footed B’s. I was shocked though that Chara didn’t get a penalty for mugging Pleks a couple mins before the goal.
I have no doubt we’ll win game 6.
But, what to do with Gomez???
no question buy him out and eat the salary.. he’s the cancer of the team.
All I want is a fair game. Not calling Chara on Pleks right before the goal was just more of the same from these refs: how can they completely ignore all the rules of the game just because it’s OT/playoffs/Boston? I am sick and tired of watching a game where the rules only apply half the time, or to one team.
Also: registering here is a bigger headache than listening to Andrew Ferrence try and make a logical sentence. I had to reset my password because I never got the initial login email in the first place.
Absolutely ‘alcatraz’ his butt down to Hamilton. But you know what happens next season…? Patches comes back and saves Gomer’s career. Watch it happen.
Is this season the end of Scott Gomez in the NHL? He’s lost it.
The career graveyard of post-lockout free agency continues to be filled in.
I doubt it..Montreal management is as stubborn as they come.
Pease God, let it be so. Dollar for dollar the worst player that ever put on a Habs jersey. Bob Gainey, I love you, but the trade for Gomez was your worst move in professional hockey. He sucks the life out of a team. Go Gomez go – somewhere else!!!!!
god i hope so… i cant take it anymore
We all want him out- But we all know deep down that he will be back here, frustrating the living hell out of all of us… Gomez along with JM… I have always loved the Habs, but these guys make it hard. It is hard to love this team when your “leaders” are lost…
We can only hope….
I can’t believe he’ll be back with us but there’s always somebody who’ll buy a pig in poke. Hopefully. We need a 6’3″ or 6’4″ veteran to fill in for 2-3 years like Bobby Smith did.
Heck I’d take Bobby Smith now over Gomez!
So i guess we can win 2 in a roll again…?
Bottom line is….you can’t win games when you repeatedly miss open nets and golden chances. You can only be given so many chances.
Where is the real Mike Camellari. He has be awful. Soft on the puck, won’t go into traffic and giveways and missed passes galore.
The team battled hard, but hey…you can only miss so many freebee’s
However the reality is that this series was lost in game 4…when you have the B’s on the ropes and your foot in their neck and you let them back in it…that’s all folks. A 3-1 series turns into 2-2 going back to Boston
Cammalleri has been one of our best forwards. He had Thomas beat in the slot but missed by a few inches.
He set up Pleks for a gimme but Ryder flashed the leather.
He’s also fourth in the league in playoff points so he must be doing something right.
Sorry, but invisible. Didn`t win 1 battle. I counted 7 giveaways, including the game winner in OT.
Won`t go into trafic in front, can`t seem to get open. As far as the chances he does get…you proved my point exactly, he missed the net. Wide open net..and he misses. That`s the game right there.
Second worst..AK. Gomez was bad, but AK was even worse. More giveaways than I could count and waving his stick at loose pucks
We showed heart, we showed determination, but one team has better forwards, has better D, and has a better goalie, and sadly, it ain’t us.
No, Price redeemed himself and proved he’s better than Roly Thomas IMO. MAN! Gio had the game on his stick!!!
PLZ… Thomas ain’t better then Price… our Forwards can do so much… and they Score.. but let me tell you about our D-men… Horrible.. cost us another game.. that’s 3 in a Roll.
If Price played for the Bruins they would have swept us.
Not with the way he played in game 3 & 4. Forgotten already? But props to him he was excellent tonight! Now…can he continue in Mtl?!
I actually do think Price is better then Thomas, or will be in the long run, but the last 3 games, Timmy has been lights out. Thats no slight against Price, Thomas has just been great.
Golf Habs Golf!
Bunch of chockers. Buh-bye.
Will look great on the golf course with likes of SJ and the Canucks.
I though you gave up after last game. Go to bed.
And learn to spell “choker.”
Maybe he meant “chalker?” Watching Minnesota Fats and Paul Newman are ya?
You are seriously annoying.
Hope for a big win on Tuesday.
Eller and Desharnais had very strong games.
Subban is a workhorse and Price was great.
Good to see the kids playing well.
With Markov, Gorges and Pacioretty out, definitely hurt the Habs chances. Gorges is built for the playoffs.
Sure would have liked to have seen more of Pyatt and White in OT (especially the 2nd) to maybe use their youth and jump to spring one, or at a minimum, to help our guys catch their breath on the bench. If you dress ’em you should play ’em. Four lines might have skated the bruins into the ice. But instead we get more Gomez. I should stop bitchin though , it was a great game.
2 heartbreakers but series not over yet. i repeat there is a reason gauthier in 30 years never even got his team to a cup finals series. if markov and gorges were not injured habs would have already won this series BUT markov was injured at beginning of year and gauthier did nothing to replace him. waited till gorges was hurt to even get a wisniewski who was terrible tonight. hamrlick got a good view of horton scoring the winner.
this team just needs new leadership who can correct the bad moves gainey and gauthier made.
they will never win a championship until they are cleansed from this team! never!
you don’t know hockey and talking out of your a*s, get a life, you just don’t go out and get great players in return for nothing. he went out and got wiz and couple of other d’s without mortgaging the future.
Come on dude, get a life. Talk hockey and stop with the repeated insults. It`s old, tiring, and frankly, pathetic
We had our chances, and the hockey gods weren’t smiling on the Habs and getting the bounces to go their way tonight. But they showed a lot heart in getting it to overtime with a depleted squad, where anything can happen.
Tonight, it just didn’t happen for the Habs.
Win the next game in Montreal, then go all-or-nothing back in Boston. Last season we played our best hockey of the season with out backs against the wall. This year will be no different.
finally a level headed poster
Judge and jury eh? Shut up.
Hammer logged 30+ minutes. Give him a break. Bad bounce on crappy ice.
The way the game started, I thought it would take a miracle for the Habs to win, their play was so sloppy and the giveaways many. And when Boston went ahead in the third, I thought that was it. But got to give the team credit, it battled back and could have won just as easily. A great effort by Price goes to waste. Will need two straight efforts like that to prevail now. Fingers crossed but the water level’s goin’ down in the glass.
Double post. Triple pain
