Pat Burns: I love how the majority of the clips on him show him giving it to somebody; boy I sure would love to see some of that fire behind our present bench!
Eklund says: Also rumors yesterday from Bill Watters that Carey Price is not happy in Montreal… I had heard this last year, but I was told this year Price was happier…looking into it.
WTF Eklund? Seriously, he’s such a douche! It’s infuriating! I’m gonna lose my mind with this guy!
Who the hell is Bill Watters you ask? He’s apparently a media personality and ex-Assistant GM of the Laffs.
So I can’t post benign reports that you can download XM radio for free for 14 days. Well . . . .that is weird. To the HIO Mods: I’m the MF JBird – not some snake oil salesman. No need to delete.
Ron can be very good sometimes when he’s removed from babysitting Don, it’s like the old crank’s suits exude something that inhibit cognitive functions. I remember a while ago, he got into with the Hotstove people over the whole Phoenix thing and knocked them around on how stupid the whole thing was while they were defending Bettman.
Ron McLean on his high-horse again. He sometimes thinks he is a “caretaker” of the the values of the NHL. He is such a pompous ass when that part of him surfaces. Go do the Weather, Ron and bitch out Mom Nature.
Gotta love Colin Campbell’s excuse for attempting to interfere in his son’s games and plotting against Dean Warren: I didn’t know people would find out. Well then. If I ever commit a crime I’m definitely using that as my excuse in court, I expect every NHL executive and every NHL analyst from TSN and Sportsnet so testify to my 100% integrity in my entire life.
Mike McKenna starts
in nets for the Devils tonight in St. Louis, where his father is the
official scorer. The NHL says the father can’t work the game. And as
for Colin Campbell …
Funny stuff… and if the name were Sutter, the light would never go on, hat trick or no hat trick! He’d hold a sign against the glass saying, “Pack Your Bags”.
As a fan, I’m not pleased with Gomez’s play. Saying the solution is to get a net crasher and garbage collector is pissing in the wind. He’s been through enough combinations of centres and wingers on this team and hasn’t produced to (salary) expectations. Good players find the right adjustment and means to produce with a variety of linemates. My concern is that at this stage of his career, he’s not willing to to the dirty work required to make things happen for him on the ice anymore. From my POV, it even looks like he’s above the “grinding” it sometimes takes to make the play. I like the “float like a butterfly” but where’s the sting?
Capitals high-flying offence was stymied again by ATL last night and their defence was left looking comical (and backup G Holtby was yanked after 3G in the 1st) they’re either looking for vengeance or they’re going to roll over.
“Martin F.: Could miss two weeks. Canadiens are in New Jersey Dec. 2.”
Hedberg is a quality back-up although he’s had a rough start this year. Maybe adversity is what the Devils need to kick-start their season. Dec 3rd is a great time for them to start turning it around.
I like the job most of the RDS guys do, it’s a lot better than what CBC offers. But while I agree with the fact that Darche has been doing well enough to earn his stay in the line-up, it’s hard to figure out who else shoudl sit. Boone’s right on when he talks about why the other guys like Pyatt and Moen shouldn’t sit. The only other guy who JM could choose to take out would be Lapierre and that would have provoked as much outrage from the French media. The problem is that certain people here don’t want the best players in the line-up, they just want the best French-Quebecers in the line-up. I’m all for having great French Quebecers play on our team but let’s not pump up MAB like he’s a savior. I’d much rather have Weber on this team and I think it’s worth a shot trying to get him in the line-up against a team like the Leafs.
Off to the local watering hole here in the capital city to enjoy the game. I always get nervous before Habs leafs tilts, probably because half of my buddies are leafs fans. It will be a long night of chirping if we dont win! Go Habs go!!
“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”

Not much hope of moving franchises north with Bettman calling the shots. He makes the excuse that if teams ice a competitive product they will draw bigger crowds. Well there will always be 7 of the 15 teams in each conference not making the playoffs therefore the argument is pretty lame.
Hypocrite-one who acts in contradiction to their own said ”statements”,feelings or beliefs. I.E. says they are going to do something like disappear from HIO if a certain goalie wins the majority of their first 20 starts. Then comes back under another user name. An obvious sign of weak character.
I think I know more than most about hockey and believe my opinions are almost always reasonable and thought out.-manapart.
You’re correct about Kansas City being the next location for a team. Bettman is in Anschutz’s back pocket and they own the rink in KC. Coincidentally, all the European games seem to be played at AEG owned facilities as well.
Shout-out to the Islanders, Panthers and Thrashers. The Manitoba Moose had 14000 fans out for their AHL game last night.
Shout-out to PM Harper. If you’re going to suck up to Quebec City, please make sure you have some coin left over to expand Winnipeg’s arena. Not to mention there’s enough Blackberry stock to probably start up a new Canadian divison in the NHL. Even so, my money is still on Kansas City should any NHL team need to move. Sad, but true.
Tonight’s game should come down to a battle of special teams. If the Habs hold the edge, then Price will look after the rest.
Peter, I would normally agree if it wasn’t for the Kessel offer sheet that Burke made. We don’t want them handing another lottery draft pick over to the Bruins. Begrudgingly and I’ll only say it this year, the best place for the Leafs is in the playoffs. Where they hopefully would get demolished.
Hard Habits, Dave, he is well paid for sure, but you are missing out on the why my friend. What he brings to the table, you will never find in Toronto. More than what you can see right now. wait until the play offs.
I just dislike all the cheap shots at our
players, by our own fans. Come on you guys, Gomez is a special talent,
in his twilight years yes, but he has a job to do and he does it. Team
sport remember!!. He is a team player, that’s not going to fill the
net, fine.
He carries the puck deep with speed, he plays
against the better lines in the league, and helps by keeping them off
the score sheet. His game is to set up plays and puck position. So what
if we win by one goal by the 4th line, as long as we keep playing the
way we are. Has anyone checked out how far we have come with this group
from the floating Kovalev years lately. Give our guys a break, will ya.
We have a great hockey club again in Mtl. You have not seen this good
of a product on the ice here in over 25 years
I want to hear from
you people that jump on our guys come play off time. Enjoy the process
of getting to the cup, or you miss 75% of the fun. Next month you will
be all over someone else, how do some of you people even get along with
your own household.???
Here’s hoping that “the most Expensive Hab in the World” steps it up tonight, in tribute to his late former coach. ___________________________________________
- Referees often question him, just because they can’t believe he’s making all that coin. - If he were to mail it in, he would still get paid. - He once landed a punched an opponent. That’s right, you heard me. - His hands feel like rich, brown stone. - He owns 4 sports cars, and rents them to Habs who make the league minimum. - He speaks fluent French, in Alaskan. - Even his enemy’s list him as a friend when he plays. - His business card simply says “Just mail me the check” - He’s a set-up man… Not a goal scorer, but he’s doesn’t really get assists, so don’t get your hopes up.
“I don’t always score points, but when I do, I prefer to call them flukey.” “Stay pointless, my friends.”
Now, what the hell with the HIO servers? Takes forever to refresh? You’d think that with all this traffic HIO generates they’d be able to afford some additional server capacity.
Hasn’t missed passing his paycheck to the teller once this season.
On that note, I really can’t blame Gomez for anything. He wasn’t the one that offered that moronic salary, nor was he the one who made that equally moronic trade.
Idiot Cherry complaining because Halpern gets a star. “what’d he do?” Cherry asks. Well, Don, he scored the winning goal. Shorthanded. 7-2 on faceoffs.
Continuing on with the “debut roster” series, here is a list of current NHLers who made their league debut in a Laughs uniform:
Kulemin-Antropov-Stalberg
Steen-Stajan-Ponikarovsky
Tlusty-Bozak-Modin
Mitchell-Mair-Hanson
Kadri
Kaberle-Schenn
Colaiacovo-White
Harrison-Stralman
Gunnarsson
Gustavsson
Pogge
Total cap hit: $43.81million, or $15.59mil under the cap. A fairly underwhelming roster that would have looked even more bleak four or five years ago- the Laughs have finally tried to stock their shelves with their own products rather than looking for the “quick fixes” of UFAs and trade deadline acquisitions at the expense of picks and prospects, which was their preferred mode of operation 1995-2005.
Goalposts are Not shots on goal. At one time, if the puck went through the blue paint of the crease, it was no icing–but that hasn’t been the case for… anyone know how long?
Did you just hear what that idiot Cherry said: ”The Leafs should have had a tie but they ran into a hot goalie.” The Habs should have had ten goals and I can’t see the Leafs getting that many. He dresses in technicolour and dreams that way too. No wonder I watched the entire game on RDS.
Know what would be really nice? If with every empty net they’d put Eller out there. C’moooon Coach, let the kid try to get a goal somehow! He’s tenacious enough that he would probably plow through 4 guys just to try it…
Despite Cherry’s mystifying claim Toronto should have “at least tied” the game, the fact is the qualitative differences between a very good team (Montreal) and a mediocre team (Toronto) were obvious to everyone tonight. The game was never in doubt once the Habs scored.

Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.
Great game, how we didn’t score 5 or 6 is beyond me. That leaf defence that pierre maguire says compares to the big 3 is just god awful. But that was a heck of a pass from komi to cammi, wasn’t it? lol
This whole game was such a good feeling after losing to the preds. Price spectacular! Pleks. beast. Eller play so well considering who he played with tonight a defenceman and pyatt :p Anddd OL’ GILLER! MAKIN’ PAT BURNS PROUD!!!!
ya. i haven’t been watching cbc much lately. i knew he was douchey but he is talking it up to a whole FOX news level. he’s like Glen Beck in a bad suit.
I can’t believe the number of near misses we have. So many chances, so many close calls yet we’re still winning. If these close calls ever start bouncing our way…wow!
Had a houseful tonite – son and daughter-in-law, two daughters and two of their friends – so I watched in English. I really missed RDS – even Benny Brunet’s “Ai-yi-yi”
What a feeling to shut out the Loafs – looks so good on them. And seriously – I’d take Gill or Spacek ahead of Komisarek any day. He hasn’t been the same since his injuries – no snot to his game at all.
Price played so well in the second half of the game. There’s no lazy movements at all – he’s quick and ready.
Gomez, Gomez, Gomez – hope he busts out soon. Three more years on his contract – I think Martin is getting steamed at his play. Eller was a beauty – and Pyatt played a smart game.
Maybe the guy we should be talking a bit about is Darche. He gives 100% when he plays – and accepts sitting out without complaint. He’s a great team player.
I agree,he kept the leafs in a game they pretty much had no business being in. Thats the one thing that bothers me about the fan vote 3 star selection.
Price should keep that moustache much longer, maybe as a tribute to Pat Burns. Seriously, it does look like it, and like the other poster mentioned, it has “great powers”.
Didnt watch any but last 3 minutes. Had to stick with the Booner… until it wa sin the bags. Just my way of dealing with the Leafs. So have no first hand knowledge of how we played. All I know is we BLANKED the ffffffffff Leafs.
PK seems to get more than his fair share of abuse. And the refs turn a blind eye every single @#$%^&ing time. I don’t want to start thinking about why that might be…
Great game for sure, but would’ve liked to have seen Weber on the first wave PP with Subban. Also would have like a couple more PPs. Gill was a hero tonight, shame he didn’t get a star.
The reffing of Tim Peel was a travesty. Just disgraceful… You’d almost think GReg Campbell was playing for the Leafs…. although I guess if the Leafs had won, it’d be good for the Bruins… Hmmmm….
lets look at what carey did tonight first shutout at home against the leafs since 1977, did something that has’nt been done since hainsworth in 1922-23 and plante in 1954-55 three shutouts in six games. I said this three years ago I say this now number 31 will fit nicely inbetween number 29 and 33 when its all over. As for the halak backers have you seen his play lately, like I said he is this generations steve penny.
I agree. Those who deserve a mention should be in 3 stars like the old system. The players know the selection process for the 3 stars has become a joke.
Scott Gomez to Montreal Media “You’re a pain in the neck, but you’re our pain in the neck.”
I can’t believe how proud I am of the way Carey so far has handled the adversity and pressure that has been on him this year. Hasn’t played 1 bad game ( most goals in regulation in 19 starts is 3) and he has won us a lot of games we shouldn’t of. 4 shutouts this year ( tied with Thomas for 1st), last year 0. Tied for wins in the NHL with Neuwirth with 12 now that he lost in a So v Philly tonight. Going into tonight he was 7th in GAA and 7th in sve% and obviously he will improve in both of those categories. I hate to say it but we have seen Jaro playing with confidence but this year we are seeing Carey playing with confidence ( which we didn’t see last year ). I am very much liking what we are seeing now. If there is anyone on this site that would rather see anyone eles between our pipes right now than Carey, I’d be surprised and shocked.
Smiler asked earlier “what has Cherry ever won?”…EXACTLY SMILER!!! It is an absolute joke that the guy who is the main commentator on the broadcasts of our NATIONAL GAME, NEVER played in the NHL, never won a frickin’ thing and was a career minor leaguer. Yet we all have to listen to this guy telling EVERYBODY in the country how to play our national game??? Are you kidding me? And our so called National Broadcaster lets this idiot get away with his stupidity. Mind you though I am obviously in the minority in this country in this opinion because didn’t this loser get voted 3rd overall ”greatest Canadian” a while back? THAT is an embarassment to this country and IMHO makes us Canadians really look like idiots!
While we are jubilant is it ok to suggest that Eller be given bigger role in Monday’s game. Maybe re assemble PHD line and sit Max Lappierre out and give Eller a shot at more ice time.GO HABS GO! We are ready for Monday!
i think its on everynight. but i tried to record it the other day and everything was delayed and didn’t get one second of it..just a little warning since it might be delayed again.
He did play one game with the Boston Bruins in the 1550s, but your general point is understood. The one constant in the life of Don Cherry is that he is a loser–as a player, coach, and “commentator.” But he is clever. The CBC really needs to clean out its hockey house, just like Gainey did to the Canadiens.

Plekanec tripped/crosschecked twice on his PK shift, no calls. Tim Peel, you’re a waste of oxygen, I doubt even your organs would be any use for transplant.
KOMISAREK… hILARIOUS!….great feed to cammy…HE LOOKS SO LOST OUT THERE…..He’s SOOO BAD….His confidence is shot….He doesn’t even look like an AHL’er out there.
CAREY PRICE: My vezina trophy prediction looks better and better by the day.Jaro who?
Why didn’t Komisarek get an assist on the Cammalleri goal? So unfair.

Don’t get me wrong, I actually like Don Cherry but I take him for what he is and I don’t live and die on his every word like Leaf fans do. Does it bug me he’s pro-Leafs? Yeah but whatever, he’s also pro-Bruins and besides the Habs BROKE THIS MAN’S HEART & SPIRIT OVER AND OVER in those ’70s meetings.
Don has gotten full of himself and his anti-Subban thing is the most disappointing and is on the verge of being an ugly can of worms opened… Mike Richards is an a$$hole and his rant of PK reeks of the Canucks/Steve Moore thing and of course “Colie” and the NHL do NOTHING.
Earth to Timo: the team is winning with a shutout against the Leafs. The whole team is doing their job: ragging on Gomez at this point is just pathological.
They really are terrible. Of course, they don’t usually play together … let’s give them 20 games to gel. KIDDING. Put Gomez on the third line and try Halpern on the second. He’s great on faceoffs, grittier, and much more productive than Gomez this year.
Just an interesting point I’d like to make about ref Tim Peel, who called that penalty on Max Lapierre without getting Kaberle or Versteeg at the same time. Looked a little biased against Max there… just wanted to point out that it was Tim Peel who reffed the November 11th game against Boston, when he called Max for diving. And it was Tim Peel who reffed game 6 against the CAps last year, when Laps was called for diving twice and Gionta once. Alex Burrows spoke out about Stephane Auger trying to call penalties on him, and we just learned Colin Campbell would try to have refs nail certain players… isn’t it conceivable that Tim Peel enjoys catching Max Lapierre for borderline calls. Yes, Lapierre embellishes sometimes, but so do a lot of players that don’t get called. I really believe Tim Peel is a ref who is not doing his job without some bias getting in the way here.
92-93 wasn’t an extremely talented team. Extremely hard-working, yeah, but no one expected them to compete. That was a dream Cup run. I think this year’s team is the best in a long time.
Have we had a powerplay yet? I mean this has been a pretty intense game, end to end, lots of movement. Are the Leafs that disciplined and well positioned? Or….could it be something else?
are you questioning the integrity of this league? I think I will let Colin Campbell deal with you and give a shout to Mike Richards to teach you some respect.
Actually, if you saw the NHL.com site last night with Campbell’s explanation front and centre, one of the players featured “diving” was Lapierre. Draw your own conclusions.
You make a good case! Timmy may just have a quick trigger finger where Max is concerned. Wish we could relay to JM and have him call Peel out just to let him know people are watching.
campbell’s emails, and comments he’s made in interviews before, have made it clear that the league looks at players with a history of diving or dirty hits and pays more attention to those players, but Tim Peel seems to be doing an extra hard job of concentrating on Lapierre. I’d be interested to know if there have been other instances he’s gotten laps for diving, hard to go back through all the games Peel’s reffed, but I’d like to know.
I heard PK called Mike Richards an Ass Clown. That started the whole thing. Well actually I didn’t hear that, I just made it up, but it sounds so fitting.
Tim Peel, even when he was a ref in the OHL, thought the fans came to see him do a job. He is the most frustrating ref in the league. He has a rent a cop attitude, wants always to be in charge, even standing in line at the rink to have a leak. But I think he has to sit down to go.
Arguably. Chris Lee is likely the most incompetent ref, but I really feel like he just never learned the rulebook properly. Tim Peel refs like he knows the rules, but doesn’t employ them the same way for everyone. For those who have read George Orwells’ Animal Farm, all are equal, but some are more equal than others.
Selke was unofficially GM of the Leafs. He was the hockey man behind Conn Smythe from 1930 to 1946. Smythe however, never gave him the official title. His career bio is best at Wiki:
Love how Selke got dumped by Smythe for trading Frank Eddolls to the Habs for Ted Kennedy.
Kennedy obviusly became a HOFer in the NHL with the Leafs, while Selke became a GM legend in Montreal.
Eddolls never panned out a the player they thought he’d be, but coached several future Habs stars with the Buffalo Bisons (AHL), notably Jacques Plante.
Ak is about 100 times better that Cammy at chipping a puck out of the zone when it has been shot around the boards by Price or a d-man. I don’t know why Cammy struggles with it so much, but he is terrible at it.
He does make mistakes. Luckily people such as you are flawless. You should probably just go ahead and call this game instead. Thats if you can get out the words between swigs of beer and bites out of your hotdog.
…and this is why people think Habs fans are insane and/or just plain stupid. Not a single poster on this site would hold a candle to *anyone* on the CBC or TSN when it comes to knowledge of hockey and the NHL in particular.
A guy llike James Duthie? Seriously, he may be more irrelevant then Milbury if thats possible. At least Healy has played, same with Milbury. I may not agree with these guys on many things, however I would never pretend like I could do a better job when discussing the game of hockey.
If we’re going to have a game with the call being completely inaccurate, how about they just stick in an old Danny Gallivan recording still inaccurate but it would awesome.
Meanwhile your long years on the couch have set you up to surpass them. Lol. Man they would never even give you a chance to set back a team 1 day let alone 10 years.
You don’t recall correctly. Edmonton got Jimmy Carson (50 goal scorer), Martin Gelinas (7th overall in 1988 draft), 1st round picks in 1989, 1991, and 1993 plus cash for Gretzky, Krushelnyski and McSorley.
Seriously, you didn’t think they got 2 first rounders for Gretzky?
I think it was a dumb trade to be sure, but not as bad as stupid trends of constantly surrendering picks or prospects for trade deadline rentals or past-their-prime vets (IE Boyes and a first for Nolan, first rounder for Leetch, Rask for Raycroft, etc). At least Kessel has his best years ahead of him.
Speculation; way before my time i was just trying to humiliate burke on the blog even if my facts arent straight the point is kessel is not worth two first rounders
Agreed on Kessel’s worth, never mind that Burke also threw in a second rounder. Especially bad that Kessel could have been offer-sheeted at his contract price for a first, second, and third rounder. To me, that’s the real point. Never mind how good Kessel turns out to be, the definition of a bad deal is paying more than you need to. Burke jumped down 2 rounds just to save face over his Dustin Penner comments.
Regarding the speculation, it happens. You may want to check your facts before you jump into snark mode on someone next time.
I think Pat would prefer that we celebrate his spirit in an Irish style, rather than mourn his loss by wallowing in sombreness and grief. Yes we will miss him dearly, and we cannot help but feel saddened by the loss of him. But I’m sure Pat would want us all to share a few stories, have a few laughs and to raise a pint or two.
However, when I was living in Toronto in 1993 I wished so much for the Leafs to play against the habs in the finals. I think Pat would have given them a run for their money. But Gretzky put an end to the only time I rooted for the Leafs.
There was still another game after that. For Leafs fans to bitch about a single call for 17 years like one penalty is an excuse for losing a 7 game series is all kinds of pathetic.
Tssss! Talk to Yeats. Who’s a Leafs fan anyways? Certainly not me. I wanted to see an all Canadian final. Anyways after looking at the replay it’s clear that it was Gilmour’s face that hit Gretzky’s stick not the other way around.
We do the same thing with Koivu in 2006 and that was only Game 3. I don’t think it’s pathetic to pin the series loss on a ref’s missed call. It’s better to blame the ref than our own players, IMO.
Really? If the ref called the high stick on Williams, there’s a chance we win that game and go up 3-0. A team up 3-0 should win a series whether or not their captain is healthy. From there, who knows what happens…same thing with the Leafs. If Gretzky gets called, the Leafs may have won that game setting up an absolutely epic finals. My point is that both of these non-calls changed the complexions of their respective series one being more severe than the other. I agree with you that Leafs fans are pathetic on many many counts. However on this one, I am inclined to disagree with you. They have every right to still be bitter about this non-call.
The revisionist idea that a PP means an instant goal is ridiculous. Even if both missed calls were actually called, it likely wouldn’t have mattered. A single call doesn’t change the complexion of an entire series, especially if it’s not in an elimination game. The difference between the two scenarios you’re attempting to compare is that one included the loss of a team’s best player and captain to a (at the time considered) possible career ending injury. The other was a missed high stick call which happens every single game in the NHL.
That high-stick on Gilmour was absolutely blatant. I would say that your statement regarding how this type of call is missed in every hockey game is a bit of a hyperbole. I don’t like “what if” scenarios, but it would be naive to say that if these two missed calls were called, it would not have mattered. Of course it would have mattered. In a game of inches, every little thing matters. Would it have changed the ultmate result of the respective games? I have no idea. But it must be acknowledged that the missed calls changed the way those games progressed. I understand and appreciate the difference between the two situations, but in my opinion both non-calls were devastating for either team.
A blatant hook, hold, or interference, I agree. A blatant high stick is not in a grey zone as those aforementioned infractions. It’s essentially a black and white area. He either hit him in the face with his stick or he didn’t. In the case of a black and white call, it is inexcusable for a referee to miss it.
You are correct,i can guarantee you that at least one high stick (or some other obvious call) is missed every night and as you said, probably every game.
I’ve never seen a goaltender look as consistently LOST on every single play as Gustavsson, and if you’d listen to Bob Cole you’d think he was Jacques Plante. He looks absolutely atrocious out there, and the shots are all missing the net or going off the post.
Thanks Boone! Good job first period. I can breathe now! Get you goal scoring call ready Boone cause HABS netting 2 in the first five mins of 2nd period. We need you sharp!
Don Cherry is officially one of the biggest tools in hockey. Why would he side with Mike Richards, the most classless player in the NHL (aside maybe from Avery)
Don Cherry now using Mike Richards to help him dump on Subban and say the kid needs to get beat up.
Hey Don, PK was ready to go, Mike Richards, in doing a tribute to Clarke’s career who he is trying to emulate was the one brave when seperated by the officials and the whistle came down, he wanted a piece of that coward’s hide.
Just thinking about Pat Burns, having the opportunity to coach both Montreal and Toronto during his career. Imagine being on either side of that fence, let alone doing both. You can add a very long list of players who have suited up for both teams during their careers. The experience had to be incredible.
even when he was a ref in the OHL, he thought the fans came to
see him do a job. He is the most frustrating ref in the league. He has
a rent a cop attitude, wants always to be in charge, and he refs the score.
Even standing in
line at the rink to have a leak he gets pushy. But I think he has to sit down to go.
that might be the meanest, most accurate, thing you’ve posted all year( and that’s saying something as you’re my favourite poster here) . I tip my hat to you sir
Hey Boone – not one media-type has gone after the two biggest problems with the Campbell e-mails. Forget about the father-son thing or Marc Savard. Campbell was clearly steamed that a team was penalized late in a game and that a team was penalized to put them two men short. Refs had to know that calling penalties in those situations could jeopardize their employment – and that’s a huge issue. Also – if those kinds of penalties were called on the Rangers or Flyers was there a different reaction from Campbell if they were called on teams like the Habs?
I haven’t seen one writer approach those points – it could be an important column.
How about a team of players drafted with picks traded by the leafs? EDIT Opps posted in the wrong place, this is in reference to the “all drafted” leafs team below
Don
Cherry is a moron. This is not news, of course. But wow, that’s really
something that he casts his lot in with Mike Richards. To be expected
given the thuggish nature of Bruins and Flyers, I suppose.
mcguire’s point about a lack of mainsteam media covering hockey in the us and mclean’s comment about traditional media vs. bloggers should be a bigger story. especially after the islanders pulled press credentials from their leading blogger without warning.
Loving the CBC. First we have Cherry and then Eric Francis calling Cambell’s beligernece and truculence refreshing and honest. I would think refreshing and honest would not be biasing anyone against a player by calling him a fake artist and never, ever questioning people about their judgement concerning his son.
How many penalties are these f*ckers going to get away with? That was a clear hook on Pouliot, and it prevented a goal, no less. The ref HAS to call that.
I’d like Mike Richards and Don Cherry to point out EXACTLY what about PK Subban’s game is disrespectful. Saying “he’s doing this disrespectful stuff” isn’t enough to indict a guy on National tv every Saturday.
Subban was ready to go with Richards, Richards is the one who hid behind the officials. He really is trying to impersonate Bobby Clarke out there, bravest man there ever was when a referee was blocking the other guy or hiding behind Dave Schultz.
I think what Ctony meant was that PK is not stooping to the level of Richards and Cherry and getting all bothered by their retarded comments.
The best part is watching MacLean have to swallow Cherry’s crap. I rarely agree with MacLean and to watch him suffer his sold soul is sometimes gratifying.
Ok, come on Mods. Why Exit’s comment got deleted? He was only expressing what every single one of us was feeling. Seriously, people can’t stomach an F word anymore?
give it 5 more years, remember when they used to bleep out the word bitch and God damn on the radio, now both are fair game. ( my fave was when they stopped editing “get a job’ from the offspring)
Timo, you being someone who is a producer of unpopular speech on occasion , you have to see that Exits comment was pretty stupid, no? I see that there is some truth in what Cherry is saying in that running ones mouth may have negative consequences. How can anyone disagree with that statement? The only way you could if you’ve never played sport.
Interesting that Cherry didn’t have much to say about clowns like Avery when they came into the league. And isn’t it revealing that he says, “PK, or whatever his name is…”
You can probably be assured that Cherry hasn’t liked PK for a long time – maybe not his idea of a good Canadian boy? Don’t worry – I won’t pull out the racist accusation - but Cherry’s continued carping could well get PK hurt.
How is PK being so disrespectful? He smiles when we win? He gives Price the low five? Every interview I have seen that kid give he is beyond reproach. Remember when Erik Cole completely disrespected Doug Gilmour in that playoff series? Where was the outcry then? OR when Crosby whined and whined from day one in this league. It is because PK plays for Montreal. And I don’t want to think it, but could it be something else?
NO ONE ever calls Cherry on his”so-called” expert opinion. Bloody hell, opnions are cheap, everyone has one. If he was a GM, he’d make Milbury look like a genius.
Instead of petulant adolescent obscenities against the person making the criticism of P.K., how about (like Mr. Berkshire for instance) addressing your remarks to, you know, what Don Cherry actually said.
Which was that Subban is cocky, which Cherry praises, but is also abusive (I guess, now that I think of it, like several commenters here) which Cherry condems as disrespectful and certain to draw harsh response.
Which, Gee, sounds like every army camp, sport team and dojo that I’ve ever belonged to….
…Don Cherry, the mediocre Coach …is today an entertainer …I admit find him an antidote to the usual seriousness of a televised hockey game production …I admit there are lots of his opinions I agree with
…BUT, when it comes to My Habs …the SOB sure knows how to lob a grenade in the room
…bet Your life, if PK came up to the Bruins, or for that matter, the Calorado Snow Flakes …Don Cherry would NOT change a thing about PK Subban
…only problem with Cherry is PK is wearing the wrong sweater
…with all due respect Professor …Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito et al won Don Cherry the Jack Adams …a better than mediocre coach of the Bruins during those years would have MORE than 2 Cups
http://www.hihostels.ca/quebec/177/HI-Montreal.hostel Hostels are pretty classy joints – free wifi, discounts on various touristy things, and they’ve got private rooms for about half the price of a hotel room. “Youth” hostel is increasingly a misnomber. I stay in hostels when I travel, and they’re fantastic.
Remember the old recipe for the Cup. 2 years of Pat Burns, 1 year Jacques Demers. Thank you Pat for providing the base for our 23rd Stanley Cup. Happy the leafs didn’t get the cookbook.
Connor McKenna of Team 990 tweets that we have a line of Gomez, Cammy and Moen to start the night, Hamrlik-Spacek on the D. JM has cracked out the Carbo line-combo wheel for his 1200th game.
Pat Burns just epitomized class, I remember thinking when I was younger that if he were my coach, I would always want to do what ever he said as to not make him mad
A co-worker and I bet $1 on every Mtl-Tor game for the last 25 years. Now we are arguing who has the better record over that time (since 1985). Of course I know I’m winning, but can’t prove it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could find the head-to-head results since 1985?

Yes, he’s so unhappy he just bought an 800k house in Candiac. Humbug.
Pat Burns: I love how the majority of the clips on him show him giving it to somebody; boy I sure would love to see some of that fire behind our present bench!
RIP Mr. Burns.
GO HABS GO!!
Bill Watters should not even be on the air!
That blowhard is a waste of space on 640 and Rogers Sportsnet.
The fact that Eklund buys into it is a total joke.

AGREED! That’s why the show has been going down the toilet for years now.
“It must be love!”
Didn’t you agree to leave HIO if price won the majority of his first 20 games XTRAHABSFAN?

Too busy throwing darts at his trade board.

From Bill Watters radio show in Toronto yesterday. Hickey was on and shot the theory down immediately. Guess Eklund didn’t hear that part.
You guys don’t recognize Xtra in his new persona?
Sometimes he decides to become a real journalist on air, but mostly he’s a toe the line guy.
So I can’t post benign reports that you can download XM radio for free for 14 days. Well . . . .that is weird. To the HIO Mods: I’m the MF JBird – not some snake oil salesman. No need to delete.
He runs HNIC. He and Cherry are the most unfireable employees at the CBC. F-ing pathetic.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Ron McLean on his high-horse again. He sometimes thinks he is a “caretaker” of the the values of the NHL. He is such a pompous ass when that part of him surfaces. Go do the Weather, Ron and bitch out Mom Nature.
The monkey would NOT have to be drunk, but it would help.
Yeah, he didn’t sound very credible at all. Feels he did nothing wrong.
I don’t like MacLean, but it sounded to me like he wasn’t defending Campbell at all. First person on TV I’ve seen say he was wrong.
You got me by a week, I better watch my step ;P Enjoy the game Bill.
Eklund reports Price not happy in Montreal. Guess that means he loves it here.
Vomit alert. MacLean defending Campbell. What a goof. Why are Canadian taxpayers funding this shill?
Campbell sounds like a complete idiot on HNIC, his impartiality is totally in question – he should step down.

We’ll be back later tonight to check on your astute prediction.
Yeah and I dressed Byzgalov over Pavelec. How on earth can any9one predict that shutout W
Can’t lose to these bums two games in a row, at best they are an AHL team with one or two NHL players.
They Call Me Shane
Milbury. What an ass. Is he actually lauding the Habs these days? Credibility zero.
I sure hope these guys put on a great game for Pat Burns tonight. I hoist a libation to his memory. Cheers to you Pat!
Attention All! Bill has his Troll Alert Meter set on stun.
Capitals high-flying offence was stymied again by ATL last night and their defence was left looking comical (and backup G Holtby was yanked after 3G in the 1st) they’re either looking for vengeance or they’re going to roll over.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
With a win and a Philly loss tonight, the Habs will be 2nd in the East. The Flyer are in tough as they play the Washington Capitals.

I think Bettman’s plan is for the Canadian teams to be the bottom feeders.

If you folks aren’t aware, nike training’s youtube channel has uploaded a bunch of short videos with PK Subban.
I agree, no playoffs for the leafs. Somewhere between 9th and 11th works for me.
You’re correct about Kansas City being the next location for a team. Bettman is in Anschutz’s back pocket and they own the rink in KC. Coincidentally, all the European games seem to be played at AEG owned facilities as well.
Oops! Didn’t mean to step on your toes, Steve. I should refresh the page before typing out a reply.

Screw the playoffs! Ninth in the conference will be fine by me.
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
9th in the East is fine by me as it’s a win-win situation for the Habs.
Hey Ian!
Any Leafs loss is a good loss!

Ian. Maybe lighten up a little and enjoy the humour. It’s all in good natured fun.
He’s a set-up man alright, for this type of satire.
Next month you will

your own household.???

Thanks, forgot Gill and Muller… all on the Habs’ side. Emotion will bury the Laffs.
- His business card simply says “Just mail me the check”
- He’s a set-up man… Not a goal scorer, but he’s doesn’t really get assists, so don’t get your hopes up.

My 3 Stars:
1. Pat Burns
2. Carey Price
3. Mike Komisarek
I had to smile at that call.
Goalposts are Not shots on goal. At one time, if the puck went through the blue paint of the crease, it was no icing–but that hasn’t been the case for… anyone know how long?

If it hits the post it’s not a shot on goal – but that puck went through the crease so I think icing should have been waived off.

Price is unreal.
Actually that would have been classic and very touching. Good thinking.
Cherry didn’t moan about Halpern (who is Don’s kinda player), he suggested that he wasn’t the natural choice.
And that’s right: Pleks did it all, & Moen was a hero…
Probably Colton Orr or Mike Brown should hv gotten stars for being a deterrants cos the Habs looked to goon it up late in the game.

Olé, olé, olé oleé
First shutout of the Leafs in Montreal on a Saturday night since Dryden in November 1977…..according to the CBC graphic.
Who said that?
Clearly, YOU are on Meth…
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
nobody else but the stupid don cherry
Know what would be really nice? If with every empty net they’d put Eller out there. C’moooon Coach, let the kid try to get a goal somehow! He’s tenacious enough that he would probably plow through 4 guys just to try it…
I liked our D tonight. Lots of help for Price. I also like the line mixing. As JM said it’s a good time to try different things.
Hint: he wears ridiculous jackets.
Go Habs Go!
He’s not even average on skating but beat that reach… you can’t.
Love it when he shuts down some flashy kid who’s full of himself.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
OMFG Cherry is such a laffs moaner. Disgusting really.
Yeah it pisses me off. Definitely tries to paint all Habs fans with the same brush.
Oh, he’s real alright.
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
Cherry did
Despite Cherry’s mystifying claim Toronto should have “at least tied” the game, the fact is the qualitative differences between a very good team (Montreal) and a mediocre team (Toronto) were obvious to everyone tonight. The game was never in doubt once the Habs scored.

An important announcement from the Government of Canada:
Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.
What can I say?
Great Freakin Game, from start to finish that was one great game!
and to Carey Price and the Canadiens who helped clear the crease……Well Freakin Done!
Say HEY hey, hey hey hey…..whadda ya say……Carrrrrey!
They Call Me Shane
I missed it, switched to RDS. Typical Cherry BS no less.
GREAT TEAM EFFORT!!!!! CAREY! CAREY!
what is the deal with cherry’s hate on for P.K.?
So, you pissed that the Habs won?
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Nah, let his first NHL goal be not an empty netter. He’ll score on Monday even if it will earn him a reputation of being disrespectful.
Why’s that? Don’t think they’ve really missed one yet.
The fact that Cherry is a douche?
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Consider the source! Cherry is the biggest unabashed Laffs shill in the country followed only by Bob Cole, the CBC aka HNIC. TSN, Sportsnet.
“The three stars as selected by Red Fisher of the Montreal Star:
1st star: Henri Richard
2nd Star: Doug Harvey
3rd Star: Jacques Plante
Final score Detroit Red Wings 5 Montreal Canadiens 3″
Didn’t that jackass Cherry say last year that Price would develop into a star “outside” of Montreal? What a jerk-off
Great game, how we didn’t score 5 or 6 is beyond me. That leaf defence that pierre maguire says compares to the big 3 is just god awful. But that was a heck of a pass from komi to cammi, wasn’t it? lol
double post.
Good one, doggy.
I would of given Gustavson a star. He’s the only reason the game was close.
Isn’t Cammy also Jewish?
This whole game was such a good feeling after losing to the preds. Price spectacular! Pleks. beast. Eller play so well considering who he played with tonight a defenceman and pyatt :p Anddd OL’ GILLER! MAKIN’ PAT BURNS PROUD!!!!
Every once in a while an AHL goaalie like the Monster stands on his head and fools people
Don’t forget Cammalleri, the proud secularist.
ya. i haven’t been watching cbc much lately. i knew he was douchey but he is talking it up to a whole FOX news level. he’s like Glen Beck in a bad suit.
What the hell has Don Cherry ever won???
Carey Price last 6 games; 5-1, .970 save %, .99 GAA, 3 SO.
Because he is good.
Because he is good.
I can’t believe the number of near misses we have. So many chances, so many close calls yet we’re still winning. If these close calls ever start bouncing our way…wow!
Komisarek forgot he was a Maple Leaf tonight…
Is that good?
I agree,he kept the leafs in a game they pretty much had no business being in. Thats the one thing that bothers me about the fan vote 3 star selection.
That reaction shot was Priceless.
Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhk.
Price should keep that moustache much longer, maybe as a tribute to Pat Burns. Seriously, it does look like it, and like the other poster mentioned, it has “great powers”.
It’s like I said last week, no team in the world “almost” scores more than the Habs!
Ethnically yes, but I’ve heard him say he’s not observing.
Where’d all the haters go? Gainey is garbage, Gaulthier too, where’d all you guys go?
Habs looked HOT tonight, this could’ve been 5-0 easily. And now our young goalie prodigy looks like he’s finally hitting his stride.
As Kaptain K said below me, maybe it’s time to give the management some credit for a job well done. Cheers!
Agree completely – the guy had a great game.
Didnt watch any but last 3 minutes. Had to stick with the Booner… until it wa sin the bags. Just my way of dealing with the Leafs. So have no first hand knowledge of how we played. All I know is we BLANKED the ffffffffff Leafs.
GO HABS GO! Thanks Boone! Monday should be FUN.
Price: first 20 games, 4 shutouts. Let’s put on a bet: how many SOs can he get by season’s end? I go for 10.
If P.K. was a leaf(or a bruin) we all know cherry wouldn’t say a negative thing about him.
You see any goals or assists there? So no… he’s still a bum.
I see JM kept the TOI arounf 19 minutes for Spacek and Hammer. That’s good coaching, that will help us through the year without Markov.
LOL
PK seems to get more than his fair share of abuse. And the refs turn a blind eye every single @#$%^&ing time. I don’t want to start thinking about why that might be…
Seriously. They work damn hard and it pays off. Tonight was a solid 60 minutes, unlike Thursday.
LOVE this team.
Gawd, I HATE the Laffs. This one was so sweeet!
Also, someone pointed out about a week ago that it makes him look more French. That never hurts in this market.
CBC had him as the 2nd star.
Don’t forget, 2 SO’s in 3 games without Markov.
Wow, I agree with the CBC experts? I’m thrilled!
Great game for sure, but would’ve liked to have seen Weber on the first wave PP with Subban. Also would have like a couple more PPs. Gill was a hero tonight, shame he didn’t get a star.
Nope.
It’s freakin’ inhuman.
Watch the hilites. Komi set up Cammy for a beauty. Pleks couldn’t have laid it in their any nicer.
The reffing of Tim Peel was a travesty. Just disgraceful… You’d almost think GReg Campbell was playing for the Leafs…. although I guess if the Leafs had won, it’d be good for the Bruins… Hmmmm….
Thank you JM, Pierre Gautier and most of all Bob Gainey!
I think management needs some praise.. after all whos managed, coached and signed all these wonderful hard working gentlemen.
Is Alex Despatie in the building tonight? Holy diving on both sides.
This game had everything you could wish for: end to end rushes, goal mouth scrambles, sick saves, jarring hits,
and the best part of it, is the end result– Canadiens 2-0.
For me the 3 highlites were: 1) Carey’s sick glove save, 2) Bob Cole’s “Carey Price what are you doing” comment
after that wicked glove save, and 3) Komisarek’s unintentional assist on Cammalleri’s PP goal.
Like I said, this game had everything.
Go Habs Go!
hells yes
Agreed!
lets look at what carey did tonight first shutout at home against the leafs since 1977, did something that has’nt been done since hainsworth in 1922-23 and plante in 1954-55 three shutouts in six games. I said this three years ago I say this now number 31 will fit nicely inbetween number 29 and 33 when its all over. As for the halak backers have you seen his play lately, like I said he is this generations steve penny.
You can bet on it. Gonna be staying up for RDS ‘EXPRESS’ version. Hope it’s on tonight and they dont have to shelve it for late hockey.
I agree. Those who deserve a mention should be in 3 stars like the old system. The players know the selection process for the 3 stars has become a joke.
Scott Gomez to Montreal Media “You’re a pain in the neck, but you’re our pain in the neck.”
And now the make up call on a Kadri dive.
When did the Habs re-sign Komisarek?
Cole sounds pissed….
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Love it, Thanks Komo, you turd
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
DIVE all the way… pretty sad. Need a “nail in the coffin” shortie here.
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH! Nice one Komi!!!!!
give credit when credit is due
…ROBBERY !!! …THAT assist MUST be credited to Komisaurus !
Habitant means PASSIONATE HOCKEY
http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=423049
I went to high school with Tim Peele and he was always a Leaf fan
Best assist I’ve seen from Mike K…EVER!
1st. shut out of leafs in Montreal since 1977. Also 23 shut outs in 7 games ties many very old Habs records.
If Komisarek say finishes his career with 999 points I think they should count that as an assist and put him in the 1000 club regardless
was he also always a cheater?
Their mistake, Habs are better on the PK than ES.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Explain to me how you call can an interference penalty when he had the puck.
That was a hard play by Gorges.
What a dhit call on gorges. that was perfectly played
“Mike, you don’t play for the guys in red anymore.” – Ron Wilson

Leafs not so good when they do not get 6 power plays in one period .Bob Cole isn,t losing it ,he has lost it BRUTAL!
Absolutely horshsh!t officiating.
Price NHL’s first star of the week again?
Cole: “they’ve finally figured it out, it’s a penalty to Gorges.”
Translation: “I just figured it out, it’s a penalty to Gorges.”
Agreed, the whole time it was 0-0 I thought it was very exciting but was also hoping the Monster would stop playing over his head.
Um… uh… well…
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
While we are jubilant is it ok to suggest that Eller be given bigger role in Monday’s game. Maybe re assemble PHD line and sit Max Lappierre out and give Eller a shot at more ice time.GO HABS GO! We are ready for Monday!
Saturday night with the Leafs.
Go Habs Go!
Right on ,Iget tired of him saying what he did in the AHL fifty years ago,Who the frig cares.
Give Carey Price a pat on the head is right!
i think its on everynight. but i tried to record it the other day and everything was delayed and didn’t get one second of it..just a little warning since it might be delayed again.
Leafs have dived more in the last 10 minutes than Lapierre did the whole season.
I agree,if we start potting some of those golden chances we keep missing and get our PP rolling, the team will be in great shape.
What a cheap call on Gorges.
How will Burke defend Komi for that one???
Not only their faith in the Smurfs, but their faith in Carey is looking very important noe too
Moen saves a goal.
So Grabs makes a diving play for the puck on the PP — and Cole says “Grabovski is upended….”
To be fair, that was the weakest interference call that you’ll ever see.
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
I’d say so! either him or stamkos. i would give up a hell of a lot to get him on this team. he’s so great.
Price is awesome…
“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”

An important announcement from the Government of Canada:
Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.
LOL Let’s be realistic, he’ll be lucky to get 99 points.
Go Habs Go!
Could you imagine if he didn’t sign before offer sheets were allowed to be sent? Tampa would be dealing with 29 offer sheets.
Plekanec tripped/crosschecked twice on his PK shift, no calls. Tim Peel, you’re a waste of oxygen, I doubt even your organs would be any use for transplant.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
The one loss might cost him.
Thought Peel was big on calling diving, but as I said, apparently, that’s just on Lapierre.
Auld is taking a nap in the dressing room, Price is playing THAT good.
You’re right on the money. Picard is rock steady. 20 minutes per pair is ideal.
Unbelievably bad ice tonight!
Gill has actually given Kessel his share of fits tonight.
Hahaha, nice.

We ARE a cup contender.Make no mistake about it.
Why didn’t Komisarek get an assist on the Cammalleri goal? So unfair.

Now let’s beat Toronto on the Football field Tomorrow!!!!!
My girlfriend wants her next child to be Price’s child…..can’t say I blame her.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
I can’t wait for Monday…
LA-BOS and PHI-WSH both tied at 3 in the third.
Edit: Flyers reclaimed the lead to go up 4-3.
Just be glad he didn’t say Gretzky
Gomez never skates without a puck. Every time I see him receive a pass his feet are not moving.
yell hess!
- Price 31
Picard is doing admirably in filling Markov’s shoes. He’s no all-star, obviously, but he’s answering the call of duty.
Seriously, Gill is owning Kessel.
Stop singing till it’s done!!!!
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Looked like Grabs was offside there…
maybe cuz he’s ahead of the play in an open position??
GILL! GILL! GILL!
How many times has GIll schooled Kessel tonight? I’ve lost count.
Gill is a monster.
At least Wilson isn’t gooning it up here near the end… i’ll give him that.
REPLAY REPLAY
Wow!
Not even close.
Go Habs Go!
Nail Greta Grabo’s a@@!
On Pat Burns night? It would be horribly classless. But it’s still early, I wouldn’t put it past him to stick Orr out there for the last few minutes.
stars (in no particular order) Eller, Price, Gill
the score is too close with plenty of time left
Wow!
Not even close
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
To see it not come within 2 feet of the line again, sure.

Komo is a shadow of his former self. With that said, would anyone trade Gomez for him straight up?
Those are kinder words than you usually hear about Glen Healy.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Earth to Timo: the team is winning with a shutout against the Leafs. The whole team is doing their job: ragging on Gomez at this point is just pathological.
How awesome would it be if Price scored the empty netter?!
You on meth????
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Ok, lets finish this one off please. Without injuries.
He hit the post? How is that icing????
Go Habs Go!
Put gomez on, maybe an empty netter will help him

I’m not sure if Eller is Marmaduke or Old Yeller.
Dont get it? I am not watching game.. following Boone’s blog! He’s praising Eller Are you saying Eller is playing timid?
Now one more quick goal and I can maybe watch the game. Come on Boone.. one more!
Scoring first would go a long way towards calming my nerves.
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
So I guess if JM knew we weren’t going to get a power play, he would have sat Weber and played Darche.
We need to stop shooting the puck on the freaking Monster.
Gomez Cammilleri and Moen are the worst line tonight for both teams.
They really are terrible. Of course, they don’t usually play together … let’s give them 20 games to gel. KIDDING. Put Gomez on the third line and try Halpern on the second. He’s great on faceoffs, grittier, and much more productive than Gomez this year.

WOw, Weber is making a huge impact tonight. He will be a 50 goal scorer one day.
Just a heads up, Habs haven’t been on the powerplay…..
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
dude you cant judge him yet, no PP…
How many seasons do you think that it’ll take for him to reach 50?

Cammalleri would not have missed that opportunity in May. He needs to get over the no-C thing and get back to scoring.

Loved Gionta going hard to the net for the rebound and popping the puck loose…Kovy probably would have eased up.
Oh yes, I would love to get a mortgage from any company Don Cherry endorses.
Would be nice if Toronto was called for one of those blatant interference calls.
Don Cherry now shilling for loan companies, stay classy.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Maybe Cole is the reason so many Leaf fans have grown up to so delusional of their teams every year.
AK46 will score tonight…he is on fire…

Benoit is an idiot. AK is last one he should be ragging on tonight.
Would be nice to see some passing in front of the net too… So far mostly desperate shooting from the angle where isn’t any holes for the puck…
http://media.turku.fi/kamera1.html
Why not, their interest rates are Beauty, eh?
Cole referring to Burke as one of the “most popular” GMs in the league and that everyone would love to have him…unbelievable.
Yeah, Burke’s doing a great job of making our biggest rival (Boston) a powerhouse for the next decade.

Burns wasn’t the coach in 92-93
- In Price We Trust
Huge difference in Pleky’s conditioning this year. Seems to have a little more push back this year.
Would you prefer Laps?
- In Price We Trust
Why do I have a sneaking feeling that the majority of that company’s clients live in trailer parks?
what are the other choices?
92-93 wasn’t an extremely talented team. Extremely hard-working, yeah, but no one expected them to compete. That was a dream Cup run. I think this year’s team is the best in a long time.
Interesting.
Fair and honest refereeing is not a priority in this league.
Have we had a powerplay yet? I mean this has been a pretty intense game, end to end, lots of movement. Are the Leafs that disciplined and well positioned? Or….could it be something else?
Very disrespectful of the Habs to have a one-goal lead. And – ‘Black Snake’ Moen has to get off that line.
double
are you questioning the integrity of this league? I think I will let Colin Campbell deal with you and give a shout to Mike Richards to teach you some respect.
JM seems to think those are the only two.
- In Price We Trust
On the ice?
Good research job Ted. Sounds plausible to me.
OK, you experts who said the Habs would get pushed around by the big bad Leafs.
Time to admit you were wrong.
you forgot to take your meds again.
Actually, if you saw the NHL.com site last night with Campbell’s explanation front and centre, one of the players featured “diving” was Lapierre. Draw your own conclusions.
Look at the roster of the 1993 cup winning team, they were plenty talented.
when you’re trading lottery picks, that would make you popular in a hurry. Lets see if he will trade us Luke Shenn for a 3rd rounder.
Just joined after driving back from visiting my daughter at Cornell. WTF is going on with the lines? Looks like JM threw the dice tonight.
Well with two clowns like Auger and Peel to call it, where’s Bill McCreary, did they need him to call an ISL-EDM game?
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
PK is +1 and our PP is perfect tonight
it’s time for a sexy party: Olé, olé, olé oleé
You make a good case! Timmy may just have a quick trigger finger where Max is concerned. Wish we could relay to JM and have him call Peel out just to let him know people are watching.
Milbury is actually making sense regarding Campbell….
Nonetheless, most of that team carried over from the Pat Burns years – which still supports my initial point.
campbell’s emails, and comments he’s made in interviews before, have made it clear that the league looks at players with a history of diving or dirty hits and pays more attention to those players, but Tim Peel seems to be doing an extra hard job of concentrating on Lapierre.
The Leafs getting favourable treatment on a Saturday night game broadcast nationally on Hockey Night in Canada? Perish the thought!
But yeah, it’s a little bit ridiculous that after 40 minutes the Leafs have supposedly not done a single thing that merits a penalty.
Go Habs Go!
I imagine Campbell will be Emailing the Refs between periods to do exactly that.He is from southern Ontario you know.
Give them time to gel, will ya?
He can make sense at times, but his delivery style leaves much to be desired.
Who is the twit in between Milbury and Lebrun?
Does he really not understand the problem with Campbell pressuring officials about his son?
You could not make a half decent ref out of the two of them.
I am afraid the lines will be juggled again, well before any gelling can occur.
Eric something. But, I was just waiting for Mike to cold-cock him with a straight arm.
Baha! Good one Timo.
I grudgingly give you an LOL on that one.
i thought +/- only counted 5-on-5. we scored sh. how does this work?

Selke was unofficially GM of the Leafs. He was the hockey man behind Conn Smythe from 1930 to 1946. Smythe however, never gave him the official title. His career bio is best at Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Selke
All the players, up until last season who wore both the Habs and Leafs colours, minus Dominic Moore.
http://www.habseyesontheprize.com/2009/10/1/1064520/komisarek-gill-and-grabovski-the
Love how Selke got dumped by Smythe for trading Frank Eddolls to the Habs for Ted Kennedy.

Note the new digs! but yeah I’m still on Twitter!
Frank Selkie Sr. started out with the Leafs also I think, but you would have to check in what capacity, don’t think he coached.
I just saw Martin cross Gomer’s name off the shootout list.

Pleks is so tough on the puck, love him, the anti gomez
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Following this blog and TSN’s boxscore. No shots on goaL for so many of our forwards. YUCK
Good thing Gill’s stick is 20 feet long.
I really thought the ‘Moen on the top 6′ experiment was over….
I’m not one to usually rag on Gomez, but he’s just not skating unless the puck is on his stick.
c’mon, enough feeling them up, score already! (pun intended)
“Sorry Hammer, CBC just made the call, they want a leafs pp”
- In Price We Trust
Cole never knows what’s going on, does he.
Why do they always make it harder than it has to be against the laffs?
And Cole announces that the Leafs have been penalized. He needs some warm milk and a nap.
Ak is about 100 times better that Cammy at chipping a puck out of the zone when it has been shot around the boards by Price or a d-man. I don’t know why Cammy struggles with it so much, but he is terrible at it.
…’somewhere up there’ Pat is lookin’ down on this game with a smile in His Irish eyes …wearing a Habs’ sweater

He does make mistakes. Luckily people such as you are flawless. You should probably just go ahead and call this game instead. Thats if you can get out the words between swigs of beer and bites out of your hotdog.
THAT was a hooking call?
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
Pleks should win the Selke this year.
Our D looks slow and old. Forwards hv to help slow Leafs forecheckers.
Pleky soo deserves a shorty.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
wow, 2 in a row.. who’s on the powerplay here?
Sigh.
Their PP might actually be more of a momentum robber than ours.
Epic kill!!!
Maybe we should just play the game short-handed…
I bet he’d do a better job the the homer crew and old man Cole
- In Price We Trust
Leafs getting VERY lucky so far.
Oh yeah… now CBC is going to make Gustavson “a story”. Sheesh… Habs either miss the net or shoot in his chest. I’d be stopping all of these shots.
Brown with an 1850′s stash
FFS!!!!
apparently some fans like it that way !?!
“Leafs are coming close on this one.” — Bob Cole.
They had zero shots on that power play.
How are either employed? How are Habs fans supposed to tolerate 60 minutes of a Leafs fan doing play-by-play and a Senators fan on colour?
BRING BACK DICK IRVIN!!!
Go Habs Go!
…and this is why people think Habs fans are insane and/or just plain stupid. Not a single poster on this site would hold a candle to *anyone* on the CBC or TSN when it comes to knowledge of hockey and the NHL in particular.
He’s well past his prime, and should have been put out to pasture a decade ago. Now, it’s just embarassing.
I’m not a beer drinker and I haven’t had a hot dog in a while, but you’re right, I probably could do a better job than Cole.
I’ll give you TSN but you’re reaching with CBC
- In Price We Trust
Dont understand the move and the messing of the PHD line that came with it.
A guy llike James Duthie? Seriously, he may be more irrelevant then Milbury if thats possible. At least Healy has played, same with Milbury. I may not agree with these guys on many things, however I would never pretend like I could do a better job when discussing the game of hockey.
Good stuff. Insane.
If we’re going to have a game with the call being completely inaccurate, how about they just stick in an old Danny Gallivan recording still inaccurate but it would awesome.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Yeah, Milbury is such an expert that he set the New York Islanders back a decade despite a plethora of young talent to work with.
Healy is always mad at the world and offers hardly any “expert” insight. He’s just a sourpuss backup goalie.
Meanwhile your long years on the couch have set you up to surpass them. Lol. Man they would never even give you a chance to set back a team 1 day let alone 10 years.
Hey, I’m only offering to replace Cole because Cole’s that bad.
As far as “expert studio analysts” there are FAR better options out there than putzes like Milbury and Healy. That is all.
I dunno, looked like he kinda liked it in TO coaching that Darryl Glimour dude. It’s a toss up.
Should he have been coach last season it would have been interesting to see how he would have handled that situation.
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
Thumbing through some of Burn’s quotes over the years.
I forgot the Habs suspended Brian Hayward, for demanding more ice time from Burns and missed a morning skate.
Burns – “No one is going to tell me when they are going to play.”

Note the new digs! but yeah I’m still on Twitter!
If I recall correctly, Edmonton didnt get 2 first round picks for Gretzky; oh but right kessel is way better and burke is the smartest man alive
Pocklington was more interested in the fifteen million in cash that was coming his way than any on-ice assets.
Burke is a tool who is basically setting our biggest rivals (Boston) up to be perennial contenders for the next decade.
I am just poking fun at Martin. I think Weber had 2 shifts tonight. What was the point?
Powerplay
Was it not clear we weren’t gonna get any against the leafs? Really… Did Martin just join the league?
As we’ve been emphasizing all day.
Both friend and foe take notice of Subban.
Toronto Maple Leaf dads hit the road.
Kadri rolls with coach’s punches.
Maple Leaf team report.
Toronto stat update.
Emotions high in Montreal this weekend.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
I hate the leafs (I hate the Flyers more).
However, when I was living in Toronto in 1993 I wished so much for the Leafs to play against the habs in the finals. I think Pat would have given them a run for their money. But Gretzky put an end to the only time I rooted for the Leafs.
More like Kerry Fraser put an end to it.
Kerry Fraser doesn’t call Wayne Gretzky’s high stick
There was still another game after that. For Leafs fans to bitch about a single call for 17 years like one penalty is an excuse for losing a 7 game series is all kinds of pathetic.
Tssss! Talk to Yeats. Who’s a Leafs fan anyways? Certainly not me. I wanted to see an all Canadian final. Anyways after looking at the replay it’s clear that it was Gilmour’s face that hit Gretzky’s stick not the other way around.
Would never say you’re a Leafer HH. Just adding commentary.
everyone forgets that Gilmour should have been ejected for a head butt earlier, hmm always leave that one out.
And I also was cheering for a Leafs/Habs final….
We do the same thing with Koivu in 2006 and that was only Game 3. I don’t think it’s pathetic to pin the series loss on a ref’s missed call. It’s better to blame the ref than our own players, IMO.
Difference being the high-stick from Gretzky didn’t put Gilmour out of the series with a nearly disasterous eye injury.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
MASSIVE difference to lose a player versus a missed call.
Not hyperbole at all, a blatant call is missed every single NHL game.
Holy crap what a shot!
Toronto can’t handle the speed.
I heard that post in Thunder Bay.
domination
Can’t they avoid the offside?
Lookin’ good to me Dawg
Damnit, so close to scoring there!
That PK flipped the momentum back to the Habs and they remembered how fast they are, hope they remember that for the next 40 minutes.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
I’ve never seen a goaltender look as consistently LOST on every single play as Gustavsson, and if you’d listen to Bob Cole you’d think he was Jacques Plante. He looks absolutely atrocious out there, and the shots are all missing the net or going off the post.
Realllly hate getting no goals in a 17 shot period… All that effort for nothing, lets hope it didn’t tire them out.
Bell centre security should cavity search the monster for horseshoes before the second frame.
Crazy effort!!
Best game so far, just alot of sHHHtuff happening out there.

I get the same feeling.
Thanks Boone! Good job first period. I can breathe now! Get you goal scoring call ready Boone cause HABS netting 2 in the first five mins of 2nd period. We need you sharp!
Got snakebite?
Hope we can start cashing in next period…
“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”
Cherry going off on Wilson. That’s hilarious.
Thanks for the analysis of the 1st period CBC. Maybe time for some programming changes???
Don Cherry doing his weekly drive by on Subban. Retire please.
OMG, Cherry, you are the biggest joke in the world. A freaking waste of skin, you old POS!
Ok, off to RDS.
how come leafs always get up for a game vs the habs, and habs never do?
habs obviously learned nothing from te Nashville game.
and it’s time to start booing Gomer.
he belongs in Hamilton for good!
Cherry should get high sticked…. that is all
Cherry going off on Subban, using the Mike Richards clip to “back up” his views.
Cherry is a racist pig.
Don Cherry is officially one of the biggest tools in hockey. Why would he side with Mike Richards, the most classless player in the NHL (aside maybe from Avery)
Sheesssshhhh
Don Cherry now using Mike Richards to help him dump on Subban and say the kid needs to get beat up.
Hey Don, PK was ready to go, Mike Richards, in doing a tribute to Clarke’s career who he is trying to emulate was the one brave when seperated by the officials and the whistle came down, he wanted a piece of that coward’s hide.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Great… Cherry on the “Subban’s disrespectful” train.
So what EXACTLY did the kid do to warrant this criticizm?
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
Ha, my two large double double Tims after supper pays off! Woo Hoo, thanks Mike.
that’s like quoting Collin Campbell for a comment on ethics
Man, switched to RDS and who’s there? Another big douche – Briere. Sigh. I can’t catch a break.
That was comical, Cherry, what a douche,
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Someone needs to put that old air bag out of his misery. Just shut up, you piece of sh*t.
Cherry always the consummate dick.
Go Habs Go!
Cherry …. knows …. nothing.
someone should be saying that to PK.
he tries to fight his teammates battles.
I got news for you PK: they’re capable of fighting their own battles kid. they’re in the league longer than you.
wise up or you’ll get punched out.
you’re starting to piss me off!
How about we just let the guys play? Lets let Cherry anger these hand wringers and enjoy the show. Talk about class…Good stuff.
Somewhere there’s a bridge wondering how its troll got access to the Internet.
Go Habs Go!
Are you even watching the game. Shots 17-10 for the habs. No comparism to the Nashville game
So what you’re saying is that Richards and his ilk are afraid of getting their asses kicked by a rookie.
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
Cherry is right!
PK always opens his big mouth after te whistle.
he shouldn’t try to babysit his teammates. what they’re not capable of protecting themselves.
If I was his teammate, I’d be so pissed at him.
he’s being disrespectful to his own teammates.
Just thinking about Pat Burns, having the opportunity to coach both Montreal and Toronto during his career. Imagine being on either side of that fence, let alone doing both. You can add a very long list of players who have suited up for both teams during their careers. The experience had to be incredible.
Burns and Dick Irvin were the only two to ever do it. Irvin too dief of cancer.

Milbury = windbag
Tim Peel,
even when he was a ref in the OHL, he thought the fans came to
see him do a job. He is the most frustrating ref in the league. He has
a rent a cop attitude, wants always to be in charge, and he refs the score.
Even standing in
line at the rink to have a leak he gets pushy. But I think he has to sit down to go.
Good one Ian.
that might be the meanest, most accurate, thing you’ve posted all year( and that’s saying something as you’re my favourite poster here) . I tip my hat to you sir
Holy crap. That idiot just ran a piece on teen suicides. What a moron! Idiot. Bafooon!!!!
Kings crowning the Broons…they look dangerous this year…I think the Kings will go to the finals this year
“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”
Very good guess, I don’t know if Quick is good enough to get them there, but he’s had a great start to the season.
Kings/Habs final.. I hear Doughty’s stick has a little too much of a curve on it
Hey Boone – not one media-type has gone after the two biggest problems with the Campbell e-mails.
My lines would be:
AK-Pleks-Cam
Eller-Gomez-Gionta
Pouliot-Halpern-Darche
Moen-Pyatt-Lapierre
Hammerlik-Subban
Spacek-Gorges
Gill-Picard
PP1:
Cammy-Pleks-Gionta
Hammerlik-Subban
pp2:
Pouliot-Gomez-Eller
Spacek- AK (with him being 5-7 feet in front of the net)
Pouliout gomez n gionta was huge last year
So was pyat laps n moen – they chipped in on some playoff games with some key goals
I like the lineup but i think darche should be waived-ryan white or max pac should be up
How about a team of players drafted with picks traded by the leafs? EDIT Opps posted in the wrong place, this is in reference to the “all drafted” leafs team below
Strongly disagree with Cherry about Subban vs Richards, but good on CBC for spotlighting the Kid’s Help Phone.
Lot of fun sitting on the edge of our seats again, isn’t it. The whole year will be like this. One goal games.
Go Habs Go!
Kids Help Phone Line…….FINALLY a public service from our national broadcaster!!
mcguire’s point about a lack of mainsteam media covering hockey in the us and mclean’s comment about traditional media vs. bloggers should be a bigger story. especially after the islanders pulled press credentials from their leading blogger without warning.

What’s craziest about that is that Botta was actually part of the Isles’ PR team a few seasons ago.
Loving the CBC. First we have Cherry and then Eric Francis calling Cambell’s beligernece and truculence refreshing and honest. I would think refreshing and honest would not be biasing anyone against a player by calling him a fake artist and never, ever questioning people about their judgement concerning his son.
Time to pay for a package that gets me RDS.
Carey is making very good moves with the puck tonight when he has to handle it.

Man, Eller keeps coming SO close. And Toronto gets away with everything.
If the refs are going to call it this way, they better call it even.
- In Price We Trust
How many penalties are these f*ckers going to get away with? That was a clear hook on Pouliot, and it prevented a goal, no less. The ref HAS to call that.

RIP Pat Burns We will always love you!
Hes going to play webber as a forward, awesome, solid developement JM your the man!
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
“If he doesn’t show respect something’ll happen to him”.
It’s like the mafia.
that pk is not commenting on this crap, speaks volumes about his respect and maturity. cherry on the other hand, just piled on. f-ing asshole.
Uh he has commented..A few times. http://www.google.com
Read the TOU
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
give it 5 more years, remember when they used to bleep out the word bitch and God damn on the radio, now both are fair game. ( my fave was when they stopped editing “get a job’ from the offspring)
Timo, you being someone who is a producer of unpopular speech on occasion
, you have to see that Exits comment was pretty stupid, no? I see that there is some truth in what Cherry is saying in that running ones mouth may have negative consequences. How can anyone disagree with that statement? The only way you could if you’ve never played sport.
I think it was the non-filtered F-bombs.
Cherry’s scouted PK since he was 14 and didn’t like him. Awesome. That’s why Don owns the record for the worst three year record for a CHL franchise.
Thomas Vanek has been on a roll ever since he scored the OT winner in the Sabres “fan protest” game in Buffalo last week.
Jeebus H Chripes, can this “disrespect” non issue be put to bed already?
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Cherry is a racist and CBC should do something about it.
If he was a GM, he’d make Milbury look like a genius.
opinions are like eh-holes, everybody has one, no one wants to hear it (cherry’s comments. not directed at you)
Instead of petulant adolescent obscenities against the person making the criticism of P.K., how about (like Mr.
Bob Cole – “The Leafs look good on that attack” ???? They didn’t get past the circles !
I have a Manitoba Moose pocket schedule on my desk that would be a better GM than Milbury, what’s your point?

Hmm.. yes, I admit that that is a good argument.

He won the Habs a cup with his too many men on the ice penalty.
Love seeing Pleks talk trash.
Cole is so out to lunch.
Poor guy. 30 good seconds with the ref having his arm up and he didn’t notice.
45 seconds after Price leaves the net Cole is surprised that a penalty is being called. Time for his pabulum.
Hey, you spend most of your week in a cryogenic chamber and see how on the ball you are!
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Dear Martin, what’s the point in starting Weber if he isn’t on the first wave of the PP?
Yannick Weber is on the ice on the PP!
Here is Weber. The goal is guaranteed.
WHAT A PASS BY KOMISAREK!!
VINTAGE CAMMALLERI!
What did I say?
Swish!
What a set up from Komi. LMAO!
Fantastic pass by Mike Komisarek!!!!
Go Habs Go!
KOMISAREKKK KOMI SAREKKKKK
Couldn’t happen to a better idiot.
Gift-wrapped for Cammy.
Truculence!
komi is still on our team?
Thanks Komi you donkey.
WOOOOOooooooOOOOOOO!

Nice pass to Cammy! Thank you!
Signature Cammy from the knee!!!!!! Nice goal…the PP lives!!!
“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”
Don’t need a lip-reader to know what “The Monster” was saying.
..
Komi should get an honorable assist. I LOVE it!!!
Yessir… Komo gets an assist.
Was that Komisarek that made the pass?
- In Price We Trust
Komisarek with the assist!
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
THANKS KOMI!!!
Komi has as many points for the habs as Eller.
Cammy snipes er!!WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Nice pass Komi! HAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Komisarek craps the bed and then the Monster drops an F-bomb on national tv = priceless.
Komisarek’s best pass ever to a Hab.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
GREAT pass by Komisarek
You will always be a Canadien in my eyes, Saku
Refs suck.
Great pass, Komisarek – just like Cammy likes them.
“oh shit, we’ve got to get the leafs back in this game!” – Tim Peel
- In Price We Trust
Smartest pass in hockey… To the front of own net.
http://media.turku.fi/kamera1.html
My thoughts exactly
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Sadly, that may not be a joke to Peel.
I think Don Cherry is a moron. The constant Habs bashing by CBC wears on me. I guess that makes me “stupid”.
I am all ears to here the examples of PK being disrespectful.
Remember the old recipe for the Cup. 2 years of Pat Burns, 1 year Jacques Demers. Thank you Pat for providing the base for our 23rd Stanley Cup. Happy the leafs didn’t get the cookbook.
TO gets the next penalty here fer shur, I can taste it. We score, Price shuts out the last 30mins and we win. I called it…
Don Cherry’s Rock’em Sock’em 22…Available now at Wal Mart…
Is that the definition of “The Evil of Two Lessers”?
Re: Cherry, it is like this.
HNIC hates the Habs. They know Hab fans are watching tonight, so Cherry makes sure to piss us all off. That’s all there is to it.
Anyone enjoying how the HNIC crew calls the game in terms of “what the Leafs need to do is”?

CA-REY! CA-REY! CA-REY!
Carey is Zen tonight.
CAREY CAREY
Gorges is having a hard time trying to compensate for Gill’s lack of speed.
Pricey doing it again!
Gomez and Cammi line creates more defensive problems than all of the leafs offense combined.
Can people stop whining about PK’s windup… Its not that bad and still the most dangerous on the Habs blueline
How is it Toronto hasn’t taken a penalty yet?
Jacques Martin, what kind of match-up is Gomez vs the Leafs top line?
Full Breezer 4 Life
great game. so much better than watching paint dry nashville snore-fest
I hope the refs choke on the whistles they swallowed
Is the Monster lucky or good?
That was a nice bit of obstruction on Halpern wasn’t it? A tribute to Pat Burns tonight and pre-lockout hockey.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Who else is loving Price’s body language this year? The ICEMAN is back.
Better get one by soon. If Leafs score first the whole game could turn….

WTF is that? Versteeg horsecollars him, and only Laps gets the penalty? That’s horsesh*t.
Outrageous!
WHat was the penalty call?

2 minutes for wearing a red jersey

Awesome. They call a penalty on Lapierre for playing hard. What a load of crap.
I hope Team Peel does not … argh.. nevermind. You all know what I want to say.
Awesome. They call a penalty on Lapierre for playing hard. What a load of crap.
What did he do? Horseshit reffing – claiming he dove when the Loaf guy grabbed him.
Laps WTF…not a good time for a penalty…
“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”
Carey pulls one out of the rafters!!!
PK must have 360 deg view. Saw a replay where he deked a hit.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
OMFG!!! CAREY!!!!!
How did we end up on the short end of the stick?
Kadri just hangs out at the blueline his entire shift. Wilson is right to say he has bad habits.
Connor McKenna of Team 990 tweets that we have a line of Gomez, Cammy and Moen to start the night, Hamrlik-Spacek on the D. JM has cracked out the Carbo line-combo wheel for his 1200th game.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
link to watch the game? thanks
Pat Burns just epitomized class, I remember thinking when I was younger that if he were my coach, I would always want to do what ever he said as to not make him mad
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Ah, I see what you did there.
???
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Can someone help me?
A co-worker and I bet $1 on every Mtl-Tor game for the last 25 years. Now we are arguing who has the better record over that time (since 1985). Of course I know I’m winning, but can’t prove it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could find the head-to-head results since 1985?
Thanks
Burke and Phaneuf in the pressbox squeezed into a fantastic HNIC video montage, Hackey Night in Toranna is alive and well.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
I noticed that, too.
Centre Hice: How do I hate thee… let me count the ways
Don’t forget Gustavsson either.
On our side, Price and Laps were the only current Habs that I saw.
Phaneuf needs to lose the Ed Grimley hair thing though.
same chance as vs any other team…thats the type of team we are ..all games one goal games
Just loved the Doug Harvey spinarama at the blue line followed with a wrist shot to the top corner of the net, now where have i seen that lately???
Tonight’s CBC crew: Cole, Healy and Galley.
Great, a senile old man who should have retired over a decade ago, a sourpuss ex-backup goalie, and a Sens homer.
WOOOOOOO!!!!!!
BOONE, YOU’RE A GENIUS. THEY DID INDEED SCORE!
its a jinx on the leaf goalie
Hey Showey, Thanks
well, I hope it works.
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
WHAT A DEFLECTION!!!
no way were getting any offensive production from cammy tonight…way to break him off of pleks, JM. douche.
