Absolutely, the one we are all really looking forward to though is 2015 World Cup in England, much easier/cheaper to get to. Our team is starting to talk about putting together a trip to play a couple of games over there and catch a couple of world cup games. Once I have played in a game in the country of origin I can retire in peace.

One of my favorite sports experiences was taking in an ARL game while Australia. To see the game played at that level compared to college club rugby was just awesome. It was also awesome to be in Brisbane during an Australia/New Zealand test match seeing how passionate the people were about the Wallabies.
We have an Aussie transplant at Flyhalf. Really incredible skills, can hit you in the hands with the pass while you are sprinting 40 metres away.
My guess is that darche and halpern have chem, and gomez has no chem with anyone so why waste darche on that line.
Wow that would be great to play some games over there. Whenever I get a chance to travel to Europe, seeing some football and rugby matches will be a huge part of the trip for me, the trip wouldn’t feel complete without taking in some live sports

So we can’t create an account for the live chat session until the game starts?
These are players the Habs (in my so very humble opinion) should be targeting before the trade deadline. These are not the talented/star players, such as Vermette/Richards but players who would upgrade the toughness and size on this team. These are also players who can also play the game.
All of these players would be available at the right price, and although they may be expensive would be needed against a bigger tougher opponent in the playoffs. Most of the players are on bottom dwelling teams but some such as Eager or Jackman are there because they are tough guys who play a great physical game while combining some offense.
Currently the only forward on the Habs who is the least bit intimidating is Travis Moen and if Andrei Kostitsyn is leading your team in hits you have serious physicality issues.

The Toronto media here are doing a bit of a hatchet job on Versteeg post-trade saying that he did not fulfill expectation and that he never really fit in on the Leafs…and that bothers for 2 reasons:
1) 35 pts. in 52 games is nothing to sneeze at for a 2nd or 3rd line guy;
2) If Versteeg really never did fit in with the Leafs or did nothing to help change the lockeroom for the better, the media in Toronto would have been all over this since Day 1…the fact they are all trumpeting this only now is just cheap…

I’ve spent some time over at pensionplanpuppets (leafs blog), and while the media is predictably trumpeting Burke, the fans are, to say the least, absolutely frustrated.
Leafs don’t need the cap room. Versteeg is 97% likely to be better than the 25th-30th overall pick. Burke says he’ll use the third round pick and turn it into a player.
That player wont be a rock solid top 6 (or, if it is, i hardly believe a 90th overall pick would really be the “over-the-top” factor). And Who cares if the leafs pick up a bottom 6-er. I’m confused… Is this a rebuild-on-the-fly-while-trying-to-make-the-playoffs-while-rebuilding-from-scratch ?

Come early (park around 5:30ish), park somewhere close-by (not too close or else you’ll wait for 15 minutes to get OUT the parking lot) a place just north of st-catherine/de la montagne is fine… and to eat… what can be better than a place like Reubens on st-catherine? Great smoked meat!
By having a good farm system that can provide depth players the Habs are proving very resilient in view of having two players out long term with injury in Markov and Gorges, and another two still out with Gill and Cammy.
The Habs have P.K. Subban who is a rookie, and so far all the call-ups Max Pacioretty, David Desharnais, Yannick Weber, Ryan White and even Andreas Engqvist have all looked good.
I just would rather the Habs continue this process of developing players on the farm that more than just gel but rather excel when they get the call-up to the big team.
This not only puts pressure on the veterans but should also light a spark to get better production all around.

The Habs let the Sabres get back into it. JM should’ve know that Ruff was going to tear them a new one in the 1st intermission but instead of taking it up another notch the Habs thought they could shut them down. Then when the Habs realized they were in a game it was the Sabres that sealed the lid shut.

I’ve seen JM clamp down in the 3rd, but this was the team slacking off first. They figured they wrapped it up with a pair of goals. Didn’t expect the push-back and let their emotion level done, never heavily competed.
JM made mistakes though, he needs to use the DD line as his push-back line, the Gomez line is like sending out a black hole right now to suck up team energy.

We have the exact same amount of wins in the exact same amount of games so the next tie breaker is season series which we’re leading. In all likelihood, Boston cannot have the same amount of points as us and still win the division. If we lose our last 2 games against them, then we could tie in that unlikely situation.
