That’s awesome, I’m sure he’ll love it! I’m gonna be at the game too, although it is not my first, but dammit I am still pumped. I’ll never grow tired of Canadiens games at the Bell Centre.
haha that is good. Which reminds me, if you want to larf, go to the hfboards main boards for retro picks of all the players, some are amazing. My picks: Jagr’s epic mullet, and Martin Brodeur as Rodney Farva. Go my children!
That is cool…I was wondering how Stan Lee was going to render a superhero to represent the Habs…looks like he ripped off the Samus Aran look….I would love to get a lithograph of this drawing.
Decisions decisions, Car at Boston right now. Since I want to look ahead not behind – Go Canes! Oh, and I am about to drive into Boston this afternoon bringing my Daughter back to her last undergrad semester.
Ottawa’s not a good hockey market. That’s why they have to feign being competitive to keep the fans semi-interested. If they tank, you’ll see 14,000 average attendance there before you can say Jack Robinson.
Staios is an aging vet that won’t help the Canadiens and Bouwmeester is overpaid/unaffordable. I guess Regehr would depend on what’s going back in return, but I don’t watch the Western conference much.
Jeese sorry to hear about your frozen pipes….. everything is frozen here in Ft McMurray, it was a bone (Boone) chilling -38 this morning… Glad to hear it only cost 135.00, it would be 250 here….
Agreed. What do you think of Murray? Do you think he made some obviously bad decisions, or were they reasonable at the time and after a series of unfortunate events (Leclaire getting pinged with a puck on the bench) didn’t work out?
“I lined up next to him at a faceoff, looked over and said “Hi Rocket”. All he did was growl.”
In addition to being an all-Canadian match-up, there are a good number of rumors suggesting the Flames might unload some of their vets and a few of those rumors have players possibly heading here, so tonight’s game may also be a bit of a scouting opportunity for us… I think the rumors are likely more talk than anything right now, but would anyone think about acquiring any of
So,if your wrong will you promise to disappear and never post here again? Not like that xtrahabsfan guy who made some bet and lost but came back under the new user name of …..oh wait, nevermind.
I think I know more than most about hockey and believe my opinions are almost always reasonable and thought out.-manapart.
Mike Commodore is on reentry waivers. Think the Habs could need a 6’5″, 220lb defenseman with over 60 games of playoff experience and a World Championship to boot?
Boone. You will be pleased to know that we are having a plumbing incident that should easily top yours. I blame it all on you. I have no idea why though.
Leclaire was a horrible transaction. He was injured when the Sens traded for him, and has had a history of inconsistent play. The guy’s averaged 35 games a season in his career.
The culture of the franchise is just jacked up. I hate to say it, but I think Alfredsson plays a large role in it.
Continuing the “debut roster” series, here’s a roster comprised
exclusively of current NHLers who made their league debut in a Calgary
Flames uniform:
Stillman-Lombardi-Iginla
Kobasew-Backlund-St. Louis
Prust-Betts-Moss
Nystrom-Boyd-Clark
Phaneuf-Giordano
Regehr-Morris
Leopold-Lydman
Montador
Roloson
Karlsson
McElhinney
Total
cost: $55.62 million, or $3.78 million under the salary cap. A deep
blueline, but not much scoring beyond vets Iginla and Martin St. Louis
(the one who got away). Interesting to have Roloson in nets instead of
Kipper. Not a bad sqaud, but not a drastic improvement over their
current mediocre team.
No, they will not fight. ”The Code” states that fighters of African descent should abstain from fighting on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (even if it is an American holiday)
Feel sorry? Try this: My wife’s BMW broken side view mirror was fixed today. They only had to replace the glass mirror and a small plastic ring that holds it in the mirror assembly. Took 15 min and cost me $435. How many lap dances would that by me in your famous MTL strip clubs?
I get the impression that the mess in Ottawa is less Bryan Murray’s fault, and more Eugene Melnyk’s. Rumor was he demanded Murray sign Kovalev (although I still think that was a good move at the time). A lot hasn’t worked out for Murray in Ottawa but I don’t think it was his fault.
Like the article states, Hossa was a Muckler problem, so was Chara and Redden, which are the Big Three reasons why the Sens currently suck. What could Murray have done about Heatley? If he had the slightest inkling, you know he wouldn’t have given him that contract. Leclaire being injured is hardly Murray’s fault, and he’s drafted quite well in the last couple years (minus trading away a couple of first round picks).
Anyway, when you analyze what he’s done as GM, its hard to point at a specific trade, or moment where he made an objectively bad decision (with the exception of the Dany Heatley fiasco, which he couldn’t really do anything about).
It’s time for a shakeup in Ottawa for sure (trade everyone not named Jason Spezza or Mike Fisher, or anyone under the age of 25), but I don’t think firing Murray will solve the Sens’ problems.
“I lined up next to him at a faceoff, looked over and said “Hi Rocket”. All he did was growl.”
Ok…..I see a blow out a coming and that’s why Martins not playing Carey, period.I think he still feels Price is too fragile and might not bounce back from a drudging?I mean every point is soooo important right now and Calgary has FIRE POWER”don’t give me that record stuff!” Again ,No Wis ,no Benny and no Price…. GOOD BYE 2 POINTS!
Everybody should just CALM DOWN, at least we’re not the bruins who we’re leading 3-0 in games and 3-0 in game 7 only to LOSE. Now THAT’S a choke! It’s just 1 game in the middle of the season (which I still think the habbies will win).
Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
I hope the Habs just keep shooting. Everything is going in tonight….

An important announcement from the Government of Canada:
Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.
You wean the unscreened long shot that went right through his wickets? Oh, he sucked on that one, all right. And his rebound control was awful on the last one. I’ll give him a pass on the other two, though.
The main thing is that the Habs got the two points. Onward and upward!
Yeah, but like the man said … it really was his first sub-par game! Get a frigging grip. Who was the last Canadiens goalie who was perfect all the time anyway?
Auld’s save% going into this game was above .940. To say even say he’s been “at par” instead of sub par is ridiculous to the point of delusion. NHL backups don’t carry stats like he has this season, and he’s given us a chance to win every game he’s started.
This will be a tough game. Living in Calgary, I see just about every Flames game, and yes they might be at the bottom of the standings, but points-wise, they are not that far from the Habs. When they work and play that in-your-face type of hockey, they are very hard to beat. I have no doubt that they will bring that style tonight.
Stats-101 Andrew its all about the sample size which makes those numbers so easy to skew.
If he stopped one shot of one that he faced his save %age would be 100 and GAA would be 0.00 would it be valid?
After tonight Auld’s numbers will hardly be so lofty! 4 GA on 17 Shots and 4 GA in .7 of a game!
Look at Rask his GAA is 2.57 and SV% is .926 but his W-L is 4-9-1 by your logic he is also a good backup.
Face it, Auld has played some decent games(a few) but the ones he lost featured poor rebound control and being out of position.
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of a Jerry Springer Show”
Maybe the third time ;–) But thanks for the kind support. Glad you got to take your brother to such a memorable game for his first Bell Centre visit. I’ll be taking my younger son to the Habs game here in february, & I sure hope they win for him.
Auld showed again why he has been bounced from team to team over his short career.
Think back to how many goalposts and crossbars Calgary hit tonight when it was 1-0, 2-0 or -3-0. He was beaten on every one of those shots as well as the four that counted!
He may be mentally “the perfect backup” but he surely is not the answer on the ice.
When you shop in the bargain basement you get whatever has been picked over and discarded by everyone else!
“The three stars as selected by Red Fisher of the Montreal Star:
1st star: Henri Richard
2nd Star: Doug Harvey
3rd Star: Jacques Plante
Final score Detroit Red Wings 5 Montreal Canadiens 3″
They couldn’t win 5-0. No. They had to let them back in. It’s as if the Habs don’t know anything other than close games. A 4-0 lead is too confusing. “How do you protect that?” they ask themselves.
You have no idea what you are talking about …do you? Auld is a nice fellow but a back up for the Canadiens he is not ! If you have lower standards fine …but those standards on the Habs don’t mix “tonight ,point in case”.THIS IS THE WORLD FAMOUS MOST WINNING-EST TEAM IN PRO HOCKEY AND IT has to get the best that can be gotten…just like the Yankees in pro ball. NO EXCUSES …Their for losers!
Hur dur salary cap. We can’t be like the yankees (and I personally don’t want to be like that club in anyway except winning). Even if it was capless we wouldn’t have the most money to spend.
Auld has been what back ups who aren’t prospects are: serviceable and a good teammate.
He’s been fine. Even if we are paying him too much probably.
What a relief to see the Habs pull this one out, and with PK scoring the winner to boot! Just after I said JM had killed his offensive game too … I’ll take the reverse jinx, pride is a deadly sin anyway.
Auld wasn’t strong, but he was no weaker than Kiprusoff, for sure. The change was made at the appropriate time and Carey held the fort long enough for the OT heroics. I loved Auld for standing up and talking to the media … thought he took way too much of the blame considering how Calgary turned it on. The Habs were hemmed in for quite a while there.
Also loved PK’s interview. He plays the game with joy and has a lot of fun, and his skills are fantastic. What a great pick … 2nd round!! Loving it.
Games like this will happen. They didn’t get down though and still played hard after the equalizer and in the end it was almost worth it to see that amazing shot by PK
I stated we needed the two points kiddo and that Auld was the wrong Dude to put in net or to aquire as a back-up”with him we would get blown out!” …What do you guy’s do in University anyways”copy &paste?”…dream about all the one’s that got away in high school?
I think Montreal is better than Boston, and I still think the Habs have a strong chance to finish third.
Barring that, I think Boston’s significantly weaker than Tampa, plus the Habs have their number.
Boston’s record is a creation of unsustainable goaltending by Thomas. Tampa would be much better if their goaltending wasn’t unsustainably bad. If Tampa gets any of their goalies on a hot streak, the rest of the East is gonna bleed.
This is bittersweet. Stupid me bet a buddy who’s a Flames fan dinner and agreed to handicap the game. He wasn’t very confident and said the Habs had to win in regualtion and I said okay! Off to find those McDonld’s coupons that just came in the mail.
“TVA is competing with L’Antichambre. Michel Villeneuve of CKAC is host,
and the guests, tonight at 10, are Bob Hartley, Moose Morissette, Enrico
Ciccone and BGL.”
Can I be the first to say Woohoo!? Nice way to finish a game that should have been out of reach for the Flames. At least the team salvaged a win and don’t think for a second is JM going to treat this game like a victory. Desharnais might be working his way for more ice time, but for the most part we saw 3 centers out there tonight. I didnt really notce him all that much, I guess since Pouliot isnt there…to make up for his lack of size?
“Tell him he’s Wayne Gretzky.” – Oilers coach Ted Green, after Shaun Van Allen suffered a concussion and couldn’t remember who he was.
Pleks playing is like a little girl and that was brutle with 2″15 left in the game. Cammy has completely disappeared. .Would Calgary take plerks and Cammy for Iggy. Thank god for PK he heart and soul and more talent that any other D-man in the league right now its just JM holding him back. As for TSN and CBC saying PK teammates don’t like him and the League don’t like him. We heard this about Chelios till they traded him and we heard this about Lemieux till we traded him. When the Habs traded them then all of a sudden these players were great team leaders.
Canadiens need to overcome the fragility and tentativeness that strikes them the second they see their lead going away, it gets into them and their strong passing game just fades away.
come on man, Gomez made that nice play on the OT winner and Gionta fought like a lion out there. If anyone had an off-night (that you didn’t mention) it’s Wisniewski, it really showed that he was playing sick out there
I think Auld was OK. His D sucked (particularly PK) on at least 2 goals and in the words of so many when Price was scored on last season, he was “hung out to dry” on those.
Aw, c’mon. Gomez was a superstar against the Rangers last game & had a solid game tonight. Hell, he made the winning goal — why pick on him after that?
I loved AK (all over again) tonight. He could be such a stud.
Ok, so when Pouliot gets back, does AK go back on the 1st line? I guess, but with Moen and Halpern he looks great. and and and the French Canadian line looks good too… Pyatt with the Pleks line? Has to be AK then.
By the way, and I’m sure its coincedental but, I think the habs have been on a roll since trading Lapierre. Time to do a little delving.
“Tell him he’s Wayne Gretzky.” – Oilers coach Ted Green, after Shaun Van Allen suffered a concussion and couldn’t remember who he was.
For once I agree with you. I was at the game, and Gionta was off his game but Gomez and Pacioretty were both flying Every time Gomez had the puck in the offensive zone late in the game it felt like there would be a good chance on net.
Watched the game with my father-in-law, who is a huge flames fan, and even he agreed that the flames got away with some blatant penalties, including the hook/trip on Andrei that led to the first flames goal. This ridiculous officiating is really starting to tick me off.
I agree. They’ve learned to come back from a deficit. Now they need to learn how to not panic when a lead is being whittled away and instead play with confidence and score again.
The worst was the 3rd goal, either Wiz or Hamrlik (who was the worst defenseman tonight imo) passed it right onto the tape of a Flame at the blueline. Auld had no chance.
I was at the game, and although the refs missed several blatant infractions, and called off two goals by the Habs that were caused by the Flames cheating, I actually thought this was one of the better officiated games of the last 10-15 games. Pretty even overall. Although calls were missed, there weren’t many chintzy ones.
I think this is what happens when you have so many rookies and young guns. They make mistakes. The vets end up panicking because they need to do all the repair work as well, and end up looking worse than said rookies.
As for the goaltendin’ tonight, there’s no point sugarcoatin’ it: Other than the backups, it was a night to forget. They’re both better than that, but they weren’t tonight. Auld seemed unprepared from the get-go while Kipper got seriously rattled after the third goal. I was half-expectin’ him to Soberg, at that point.
Two points in the kitty but nobody’s sittin’ in the Habs’ dressin’ room whoopin’ it up – ok, with maybe the exception of PK…he’s young and exuberant -and a dodged bulled is hopefully a wakeup call for the balance of this week.
Playing or watching? I have found that blogging takes away from watching so I do a lot less of it. Unless of course, there is something just absolutely fabulous like the one that lead this string.
I tottally agree, I’m just thinking what will happen with Pouliot’s return. Just musing really. that and I completely forgot about Eller.
Still, Pyatt seems to crack the lineup because of his PK prowess, but between him and Moen there seems to be a redundancy, Pyatt being a faster, smaller version of Moen.
“Tell him he’s Wayne Gretzky.” – Oilers coach Ted Green, after Shaun Van Allen suffered a concussion and couldn’t remember who he was.
Wow I might have to change my tune on Stock, he just ribbed Tremblay for the Roy incident. Something to the effect that back in his day to change the momentum you gave a little check, or you know got into a fight or something, now you change the goaltender… looking straight at Mario with a weasely grin.
“Tell him he’s Wayne Gretzky.” – Oilers coach Ted Green, after Shaun Van Allen suffered a concussion and couldn’t remember who he was.
Dave, btw I never got that email. There’s probably something wrong with the contact function. I think I may still have your email from exchanges last year.
I do mot know why everyone is amazed at what is going on in Montreal these days. Just remember how long ago that Hamilton won the Calder cup, and who was on the team.!
Slowly these players have graduated to the NHL to play along side the great veterans that Bob brought here, one short year ago. To play a system that J. martin believes in and has implemented over the past year here.
This team that has seen their top two defenseman go down for the year, still compete for a top spot in this years up coming play offs.
I have to confess that I was not a J. Martin supporter when he first arrived here in Mtl. But after the great run of last year I have held my tongue and watched his stamp placed on this team.
We as fans are disappointed if we do not win each and every game, and are devastated when we lose a couple in a row. But here this, we are a much better team this year than last, and we will go very much deeper than last year into the play offs this spring.
We never win going away, but that is only to keep us into every game.! After all this is an entertainment business.
Enjoy the ride to the top boys and girls, see you at the parade.!
Man, can this team play for 60 minutes for once? Yes, Auld stunk, but goals were still scored on crappy defensive plays. PK!!! PK!!! PK!!! PK!!! Lose the Briere celebration crap, dude, otherwise a total stud!!! Man… for about 20 minutes there I thought i’d have to quit my current job.
Respectfully Ian, the only legacy left from the 2007 Calder Cup team was Playoff MVP Carey Price, while the top man for Hamilton on their run that season, he’s all that’s left. Lapierre, O’Byrne, Chipchura, D’Agostini, Grabovski are all offering their services elsewhere these days.
This is more the legacy of the Habs later, more successful draft classes with Weber, Subban, Pacioretty. It will take until the 12-13, 13-14 seasons to really see the benefits of the farm rebuild when names like Avtsin, Leblanc, Kristo, Tinordi start contending for spots and hopefully, free agent prospects like Nash and Engqvist.
One cannot be surprised that we blew the 4 goal lead, but we must never give up on our boys, they do not give up on us! I must question, tomorrow is a much needier win.
Boston will not continue on like this folks, we keep the Rythm and they will fail!!
I know 09, but we have acquired players that are filling the roll for those that have moved on, or we moved on. We will be a better team in this year play offs.
Habs will likely be better offensively, but even with PK’s leap forward in the 2nd half of the season, no Markov at all, no Gorges? Defence will be hard pressed to keep the opposition to the outside and shut down the opposing team’s star players. I’m sure Carey will be great, but there’s going to be a lot of miles on Spacek and Hamrlik and Spacek is barely hanging at the halfway point.
Briere’s is different, he doesn’t shoot from his invisible pistol, he just cranks underhanded. Don’t tell me Briere was the first to do the knee slide celebration in the first place anyways.
Hey I never stop believing in this team, not after what they pulled off last season but they’re a couple years away from elite status IMO. They’ll compete and surprise the oppositon for now and it’ll be fun, but the team would need a new miracle run to get as far as they did last year.
It actually almost never is. We as humans believe it is because we naturally assign causes to results and in hockey, despite all evidence to the contrary, every bit of coverage tells us that goals=effort and goals=good play. Even though we know it’s a game of inches, a game of bounces.
More often than not it’s some combination of one team getting lucky, one goalie having a bad night, and one team getting a lot of goals on not that many scoring chances. Very rarely this will occur because one team is outplaying the other team to such a large degree; the better team may be ahead big (though there is no guarantee) but it’s very rare that the differential in actual quality of play (puck possession, scoring chances, even shot quality) will be bigger than usual for a “normal” game.
Karlsson is 6ft6, and his nickname is “The Calgary Tower.” He’s another pick (like Kiprusoff) that Sutter found when no one else knew who the guy was. Very animated, when he makes a big save, or when he wins a game.

How can I? Apparently I pay for this garbage cable but the channel disables as I’m not “in the region”.
What BS in this day and age of digital cable. I should be able to watch IN ENGLISH IN HD on my TV if it’s being broadcast that way somewhere. I’m willing to pay extra. But no, I’m not allowed. F cable…..should be a la carte and national

Are you blogging from the back deck? Perfect night to test run the outfit you’ll wear out west. Have the kids turn that tv in the livingroom so you can see it and send out a couple of beers every 20 minutes or so. Work that flask lid until you can get it open, take a swig and close it and drop it back in your pocket in less than 7 seconds. Then get the wife to boil up a few dogs at the end of every period just to see how many you can consume over the course of a game. It’s all about training JD.
Tanguay is a very good hockey player who was the Habs’ best forward while he was with the team, and never got the credit he deserved from his coach for some reason — nor for the fans, who were still in the Carbo honeymoon at the time.
Let’s give another point away, why not we won’t need them.I can’t believe this, and if you think of the posts by the Flames, Habs are lucky to get the point they do have.
Well hopefully the boys come out & turn it on & win
Now if JM is really thinking he should make PK a healthy scratch for the next game, that will teach the other guys a thing or two…….hahahahah Shhhhhhhhh that fool JM might do it.

Would be nice to see a deal bringing Iginla to Montreal.Yea I know never happen, but he plays with heart & that would be great on the Habs. Maybe a real dream Gomez & some futures for Iggy. trade off on the cap hit??
Start a rumour …hahahaha Go Habs Go , sure is nice to have a substantial lead, and not be on the edge of the seat.
Just got back from a seminar with an anesthesiologist at the royal vic………I could use a dose of painkiller right about now. Habs sitting back on a 4-0 lead?
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Do you mean, like, posters who join HIO despite the fact they despise the Montreal Canadiens?

Looked like half the team had mentally headed to the dressing room with 1.5 minutes left.

These late period goals are no accidents, This team plays scared, starts running around and I think just expects doom and gloom at the end of periods. Am I the only one feeling a bit worried with just a 2 goal lead.

Normally I’d somewhat agree about defensive nonsense, but they’ve been aggressive as hell. Eventually it comes back into their zone and oops – in the net. It happens
Here we go as usual, we play a terrific game and then coast. It is all part of the plan, letting teams back into the game, just to practice holding on in the 3rd.
We need that sort of practice for the deep run in the play offs coming up.
It does not matter who wears our colors, as long as they play the J. Martin style of game.
We will win by a goal again, and again, and again!
There is nothing like it, sitting on the edge of our seats, with their goalie pulled in the 3rd.!!
Just for the record, I dont believe this team went into a defensive shell with a 4 goal lead, they had some quality chances and good pressure but this new flames goalie played real well. They should have had a 3 goal lead going into the 3rd, except for the late hiccup
It would be nice to see the Habs blow-out an opponent for a change, especially when they have been the more dominant team but Calgary credit, they have fought back. They could have easily gave up after the 4th goal. Now the 3rd period would be interesting to see how JM responds; Sit back or pour it on?
thrilled to see Ak play with spirit and passion, disGusted with JM that it took him 1/2 a season + to speak to AK. logic would dictate that you speak to your struggling player(s) at every opportunity, betcha ole grease ladened hair JM didn’t have the inclination to speak to Oby
I will not be surprised at all if Andrei’s resurgence means SK74 in NSH starts slumping, I don’t think the brothers have both played well at the same time since SK was a rookie in 07-08.
It is no coast! It’s the wonderful “system” to sit back and play passive rather than hammer down.
It happens with with such regularity and has to be mandated rather than chance occurrance.
Are you watching??? Its 4-3.
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of a Jerry Springer Show”
Man whatever. I have his figure and can’t stand to look at it. Not after his pansy act in the playoffs. Truth is he didn’t want to play for a team that had no chance. Hope he enjoys calgary, THEY are a contender amirite?
Gainey traded Iginla to get Nieuwendyk, which led to a Cup and another appearance in 2000 so one can say it was the right move at the time but really, why even bother defending Reggie’s reign of error? The mid to late 90s were an unmitigated disaster save the 6th-round pick on Andrei Markov.
Okay, I have to say more about Pleks. If he doesn’t win the Selke, there is no justice in the NHL (yes, I know there is already no justice in the NHL).
Oh COME on. That was a mistake but are you telling me that’s also not on Auld? It was a clear shot to his mid section. You have to stop those. I zero faith he’s going to make the big saves we need
Wanted to ask about your comment on Red Fisher covering his 6000th game. That is a remarkable number but I can’t figure it out… Help me out – 51 seasons at 80 regular season games (average because it was less than 84 for a long time) and 5 pre-seaon games (did they have them 40 years ago?) and 15 post season game (guessing here because some years they didn’t play any while others they played 20+). So 51x(80+5+15) = 5100. Amazing to think of 6000 games, can’t imagine anyone else ever coming close to that.
I have read every word you’ve written since the inception of HIO as well as most of Red’s columns for the past 20 years. You do an excellent job and provide a nice complement and viewpoint to the games please keep up the great posts.
Cheers,
Peter
PS – I’m in Fort Lauderdale area but born and raised in St. Catharines. You are welcome to come and do your blog from my place anytime!
Not counting ASG’s, exibitions, Red Army etc, from St. Patrick’s Day 1955, Mr. Fisher has seen 4149 regular season and 529 playoff games involving the Habs. All summed up, tonight is his 4,678th game. He might have missed a few, but not many. Four more seasons and he’s over the 5000. Maybe the Habs will give him a $10.00 pin!
Pathetic having Spacek and Subban on together??? What are they thinking?
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of a Jerry Springer Show”
I won’t start whining about lousy calls about holding but Desharnais literally carried Stajan from the blue line to the red line less than a minute ago.
That’s generally an empty cliché, but in a game like this where either team scores on every third chance, it’s even emptier. The game’s going to go to who has the last bounce, because wanting it when the percentages are going to pot doesn’t actually get you anything.
I went to three of my grandson’s tournament games this weekend here in Thunder Bay. One of the door prizes was an Alex Auld autographed Habs jersey – a great example of a local athlete giving back to the kids in his home town. So he sucked tonight – and he’s perhaps on the downside of his career. Still a great guy.
Well, whoever called the barnburner finish should pat themselves on the back. Kill this dumb penalty off, then how about we get the next goal for a change?!
Oh the “terrible coach” penalty. I love these. Sorry, once again I want the coaches to grab/yell at the player when they count it’s too many. No excuse
How can a professional team get so razzled at home? Last-minute goals, no rallies, panicky play — There’s something wrong with the psychology of this team…
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of a Jerry Springer Show”
man montreal has to OWN the season stat for most goals given up in the final minute of a period… its pathetic.. a period is 20 minutes not 19 or 18….. if i do recall they did this EXACT act not to many games ago…

Hilarious. A weak call on Gionta. Then a Habs scoring chance and no call. Too bad Jackson is afraid to officiate fairly in Montreal. Did anyone miss him last year when he had the knee injury? Clown. Just retire.
Ok everyone calm down. I know being a fan means having fun by overracting, but at some point, you have to realize we’ve seen this movie before, and recognize where it comes from and what it means.
Games like this happen and don’t particularly mean anything. It’s very rare that a team will get a 4-0 lead because they are playing especially well and, likewise, it’s very rare that a team will get 4 unanswered goals against because they’re playing especially badly. I had my spiel all ready about how a blowout “statement game” means nothing at 4-0, and now, well, I’m just laughing my rear off.
It’s hockey. Stuff happens. Goalies have bad stretches. Sometimes you get 4 goals on 8 chances, then they have 8 chances back and score 4 times back.
Collapses, blowouts, “statement games”, they’re actually the least meaningful games there are. Hockey is too low-scoring a game, and parity is too strong, for stuff like that to be anything more than flukes.
It’s very rare that a team will get a 4-0 lead because they are playing especially well and, likewise, it’s very rare that a team will get 4 unanswered goals against because they’re playing especially badly. total nonsense- that is exactly what happens.
Hockey Inside/Out encourages lively debate, but there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism, profanity and behaviour that we deem to be offensive.
We will, without warning, ban those who do not abide by this simple rule, so as to maximize the enjoyment of readers and participants of both sexes and all ages.
Someone’s gotta pluck those stray hairs
Anyone catch Paul Giamatti giving Montreal, and Canada, a shout-out last night at the Golden Globes? I cant find any youtube clip but this will do:

That’s awesome, I’m sure he’ll love it! I’m gonna be at the game too, although it is not my first, but dammit I am still pumped. I’ll never grow tired of Canadiens games at the Bell Centre.
Is that $135 lap dance included?
he pays 135$ to get his head shaved?
he’s gotta find a better funds analyst.
- Gomez is holding down the suck button
Wonder if any of the Flames would be kind enough to bring a few hundred kilos of only the finest poutine back here to Calgary!
That’s like your first car being as Rolls-Royce!!
Taking my little brother to his first ever NHL game tonight, and is there a better initiation than the Bell Centre? He’s pumped.
That’s not even enough for Gomez’ haircut
$135 for 20minutes…that wasn’t a plumber you called ….at that price that was a top line forward you called.
It’s Cobra Commander in a Habs jersey. How creative.
Mute beats Jack Edwards without much of a contest.
Let’s see. Trip Tracey or Jack Edwards? No contest … Trip it is.
The Canadien does look like Samus, now that you mention it. (Although, I’ve hardly followed the Metroid franchise–so what do I know?)
It is Sooo cool that Stan Lee is creating a superhero “universe” in homage to the NHL! (And, yes–I am Sooo geeky!)
haha that is good.

Not overly optimistic…
Wis is in!
Hahahahaha! Brilliant!

You are in my thoughts and my prayers
Well the Wiz looks like he can go, although No Benny in sight!
go habs go!

???
God no. He’s horrible. How would Gauthier justifying dumping O’Byrne and then picking up an over paid slug like Commodore?
Except Olli Jokinen looks like a really, really ugly baby.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
All those Finns look alike …
LOL, here I am stating the Habs should play Price and you get your panties in a wad….have another one potash man!
Yes, but they have enough on D right now. If Weber weren’t up I’d be all for it. Then again I wish we kept Obyrne….
The habs need a guy with eyebrows like Lanny mcDonald. Forget the moustache.
The only hope for an eyebrow star is Markov, from what I can see.
That’s hilarious.
“Olli Jokinen:
NHL’s First Star of the Week, three goals and seven points in his last three games”
Sorry Booner, but you got the wrong Jokinen. Jussi on Carolina won the 1st star.
Olli has 5A over his last 8 games, and is something like a – 8.

Problem is, no one is going to feel sorry for someone who drives a BMW.
Oh well then. That’s only Darchian wages. Can’t feel sorry for you now.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
They’re on the lookout to fight the evil gingivitis
And they’re coming to an arena near you.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Feel sorry? Try this: My wife’s BMW broken side view mirror was fixed today. They only had to replace the glass mirror and a small plastic ring that holds it in the mirror assembly. Took 15 min and cost me $435. How many lap dances would that by me in your famous MTL strip clubs?
Oh, well $125 is a steal then!
Facepalm
$40 for his magic defrosting machine. $70 labour. GST and PST. It was actually $125. I added $10 so everyone would feel sorry for me.
The Wayne Scanlan article is a great read.
G&G need to be careful with +35 deals and and no-trade contracts.

JM has been pretty consistent in playing Auld in the first game of back to back matchups. Dont hurt yourself getting off the bandwagon.
I love it when Habs fans take over opponent’s arenas. Beautiful.
There’s a groaner for ya.

Impossible to grow tired of it. It’s such a special atmosphere. I don’t think you can find it anywhere else except maybe a home game in Liverpool.

“Tell him he’s Wayne Gretzky.” – Oilers coach Ted Green, after Shaun Van Allen suffered a concussion and couldn’t remember who he was.
At least, Carolina lost and Atlanta is losing.
Stiil…
This hurts a little bit.
JM should make them bag skate a whole twenty minutes next practice to teach em that a period is nothing less than that.
I guess JM doesn’t believe in timeouts, especially when Calgary ties the game.

I blame the fans for starting the Ole chant far too early (as usual).
Da Hema, are you there? This is turning into one of those foreplay games.
Aren’t the Habs due for a bad penalty? That’s the usual scenario. I can’t believe this is the same team, that started the game ???
Well at least we can tell who wants this win more.
Alright enough of the game, show some more of the hottie behind Sutter
We need a goal and we’re playing perimater hockey. Is Darche the only one who knows where the front of the net is?
nice broach eh
I started watching the game and left after 1st.
Came back to check the score and it was 4-2 Habs.
Came back and Habs were down 4-4.
Fair to say I should watch the rest and not miss a single second?
Brent Sutter’s gettin’ all kinds of camera time…

Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?

I hope the Habs just keep shooting. Everything is going in tonight….

You wean the unscreened long shot that went right through his wickets? Oh, he sucked on that one, all right. And his rebound control was awful on the last one. I’ll give him a pass on the other two, though.
The main thing is that the Habs got the two points. Onward and upward!
Centre Hice: Price shines in 18-minute effort over Calgary
He did a great job with Spezza and the Sens

Yeah, but like the man said … it really was his first sub-par game! Get a frigging grip. Who was the last Canadiens goalie who was perfect all the time anyway?
Full Breezer 4 Life
Auld’s save% going into this game was above .940.

The kid saved your job. Let him celebrate.
Centre Hice: Price shines in 18-minute effort over Calgary
On that very subject, Centre Hice interviewed him after the game:
Centre Hice: Price shines in 18-minute effort over Calgary
Auld showed again why he has been bounced from team to team over his short career.
Think back to how many goalposts and crossbars Calgary hit tonight when it was 1-0, 2-0 or -3-0. He was beaten on every one of those shots as well as the four that counted!
He may be mentally “the perfect backup” but he surely is not the answer on the ice.
When you shop in the bargain basement you get whatever has been picked over and discarded by everyone else!

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
They couldn’t win 5-0. No. They had to let them back in. It’s as if the Habs don’t know anything other than close games. A 4-0 lead is too confusing. “How do you protect that?” they ask themselves.
These games not good for the blood pressure.
Yeah Pyatt was a terror on that line
Another W for Price. He looked very collected in net.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
8 points is a pretty big gap in the modern NHL. Heck, we’re ‘only’ 10 points out of first in the conference. That give a little more perspective?
You have no idea what you are talking about …do you? Auld is a nice fellow but a back up for the Canadiens he is not ! If you have lower standards fine …but those standards on the Habs don’t mix “tonight ,point in case”.THIS IS THE WORLD FAMOUS MOST WINNING-EST TEAM IN PRO HOCKEY AND IT has to get the best that can be gotten…just like the Yankees in pro ball. NO EXCUSES …Their for losers!
so does pricey gets a shut out?

Loving it.

Yes. A mini shut out. And a shout out to all his homies.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Does Price get the win? LOL Kinda unfair to Auld – but as long as the Habs are winning – it doesn’t matter!
How long before the celebratory rioting starts? I need 20 minutes to get downtown.
Were the 3-0 loss against Atlanta or the 3-1 loss to the Laffs considered “above par”?
Seems like in both his positioning was called into question.

Coke? This man’s on straight up drano.
That goal was some WONDERFUL Gomez first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jacques Martin’s note pad revealed.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
I’ve been saying make P.K. a forward….pass from Gomez,eh le but!

My deepest sympathies to Cage Aux Sports patrons province-wide.
I like AK with Moen and Halpern. That line can check, hit – and score with AK there. He seems happy with those guys.
Carey gets the W. “Kinda unfair” to the team that after going up 4-0 they had to settle for a win in OT>
Go Habs Go!
I hate them. But then again I love this crazy bunch of beautiful bastards®
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Yah lol it was amazing
You will always be a Canadien in my eyes, Saku
That’s pretty much it. You get a little coupon for 8 free wings on your next visit to la Cage (and not on the spot as is commonly thought).
Man, watching Stock on L’antichambre and try to weasle in his anti-hab rhetoric is almost entertaining.
edit: Opps looks like I wanted to reply to this one while I was watching the show, thought I was making a new comment. ha.

Tonight I liked: PK, AK, MaxPac, Pleks (as usual), Halpern, Moen, Pyatt (within his limits).
Not too sure about: Gomez, Gionta.
Really dubious about: Auld, Spacek.
found it. it’s called Le Match and it’s on at 11:45 not 10 on TVA
Seriously… can’t blame us the fans for being bipolar!
Pleks had a great game.
Canadiens need to overcome the fragility and tentativeness that strikes them the second they see their lead going away, it gets into them and their strong passing game just fades away.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Pleks, as ALWAYS, was his consistent self. Hands down their best player.
Cammy scored a goal and set up another, and earned second start for the night.
As for PK – a coin flip every night…every shift even. Fortunately, his best shift was his last
come on man, Gomez made that nice play on the OT winner and Gionta fought like a lion out there. If anyone had an off-night (that you didn’t mention) it’s Wisniewski, it really showed that he was playing sick out there
Cammalleri scored a beautiful goal tonight. He didn’t disappear for that play.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
PK is not a coin flip every night anymore. He’s matured quickly and he’s been solid in 9 out of 10 last games
So does Price get a shutout?
/\\ike
GO HABS GO!
sometimes you need a game like this to revive the offensive juices of your forwards..cannot play 2-1 every night..
And another late entry in the “Stupidest Post of the Night” competition. Good luck Nova.
I think Auld was OK. His D sucked (particularly PK) on at least 2 goals and in the words of so many when Price was scored on last season, he was “hung out to dry” on those.
***Subbang!!!***
Aw, c’mon. Gomez was a superstar against the Rangers last game & had a solid game tonight. Hell, he made the winning goal — why pick on him after that?
I loved AK (all over again) tonight. He could be such a stud.
Loved the 1st and 2nd periods…but the secondgame in a row with a serious 3rd period melt-down..we hae to be more consistent and play all 3 periods.
Whoever said earlier that PJ Stock is an idiot was spot on. He’s making a fool of himself again tonight on L’AntiChambre.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

And a game-high 27:13 mins!
Not too shabby for a rookie D-man eh?
Huh, what a bunch of drival that was
Holy Shizzle! Oweeeeee ow.
Praise due P.K (Subbang indeed!)
Hey Pierro G; You better sign Markov! Our cool, CALM(see no choke) Comrade.
3 POSTS Auldy- could have been 7… Did Price give u last years notes on how to crumble your cookie?
JM- Thought the O had the go tonight until… A D-fensive team, Oh really? SHUTTEMDOWN already!Pinch one.
And Mario on L’Anti. SHUTUP! There’s a reason u ain’t coachin’.
Let this be a lesson to all you kids at home.
Booze and blogging; a dangerous mix.
***Subbang!!!***
Ahh PK Subban… is there anything that guy can’t do?
Seems like no matter what he does Gomez just can’t please some people eh
Showing respect to Mike Richards
- In Price We Trust
PK might supplant the person who is my current favourite player. He is already a solid # 2 on my list.
That’s a GOOD thing
Why respect dirtbag Flyers? They respect nothing.
I never took JM for a Hamburger Helper kind of guy.
That’s exactly what I was thinking
Lay off the booze Scoatian!
They Call Me Shane
For once I agree with you. I was at the game, and Gionta was off his game but Gomez and Pacioretty were both flying Every time Gomez had the puck in the offensive zone late in the game it felt like there would be a good chance on net.
JM won’t upset a winning combo. He’ll leave AK where he is. And well he should. We have a scorer deep in the lineup for a change.
***Subbang!!!***
Now they need to learn how to not panic when a lead is being whittled away and instead play with confidence and score again.
to novahab.
pleks and cammy for iggy? I dont know what your putting in your diet coke ,its making you dizzy,
The worst was the 3rd goal, either Wiz or Hamrlik (who was the worst defenseman tonight imo) passed it right onto the tape of a Flame at the blueline. Auld had no chance.
Really. How embarrassing! Make sense or stay home.
You also said we’d get blown out tonight, so you were wrong as always.
How so? Gomez had a pretty good game, even the game winning assist.
Hiccup, hiccup! What he said!
Everybody stop crapping on PK. Isn’t this what we want in a player? Heart, passion and exuberance? Let it go, already.
He’s like one of those water spiders the way he flits around the ice with the puck. Solid vision, great setup man.
***Subbang!!!***
On another note, that’s got to be the first <10-save win of Price’s career. 4 saves for a win probably doesn’t happen too often.
I was at the game, and although the refs missed several blatant infractions, and called off two goals by the Habs that were caused by the Flames cheating, I actually thought this was one of the better officiated games of the last 10-15 games. Pretty even overall. Although calls were missed, there weren’t many chintzy ones.
Think you need to go back under the bridge to play with your shiny things…
It’s possible they would have lost if he stayed in, so he doesn’t “get a win”. Besides it’s a team effort
Hey, you getting any games in these days?
***Subbang!!!***
I think this is what happens when you have so many rookies and young guns. They make mistakes. The vets end up panicking because they need to do all the repair work as well, and end up looking worse than said rookies.
They need to work on it
SubBANG!
And he’s just gettin’ started.
We should also try AK in net and Youppi on D and Gomez behind the bench.
6 pts in last 7 games. Not too bad indeed.
At least share some of it!
And he apologized for his exuberance! He shouldn’t have to do that.
Oh no he DI-INT
Dave, btw I never got that email. There’s probably something wrong with the contact function. I think I may still have your email from exchanges last year.
13 out of the last 16 points!
Hmmm…try sending a quick note right now and we’ll see if you have it. If not we’ll have to try something else. Carrier pigeons?
***Subbang!!!***
He’s been damn good for like 25 games now. I find its Gionta who’s not finishing as much as last year.
Playing?
***Subbang!!!***
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Done.
One cannot be surprised that we blew the 4 goal lead, but we must never give up on our boys, they do not give up on us! I must question, tomorrow is a much needier win.
Boston will not continue on like this folks, we keep the Rythm and they will fail!!
Loud yelling out the window?
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Does anyone remember what our W/L was at this point last year?
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
I think JM ruined him
***Subbang!!!***
Ha, Good work. I just found your email address as your message was coming in.
***Subbang!!!***
I know 09, but we have acquired players that are filling the roll for those that have moved on, or we moved on. We will be a better team in this year play offs.
Not at all punkster.! He is very much stronger than that my friend,!
Ian…the winky face
means I’m kidding. No way I ever believed JM ruins young players.
***Subbang!!!***
Worse!
OK I got your wink My friend
Love Subby!
Pouilot might never get back.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Not going to be easy for sure, but hang onto your hat Robert
Briere’s is different, he doesn’t shoot from his invisible pistol, he just cranks underhanded. Don’t tell me Briere was the first to do the knee slide celebration in the first place anyways.
Ecstasy. Agony. Relief.
Oh how we do love our habs games.
Hey I never stop believing in this team, not after what they pulled off last season but they’re a couple years away from elite status IMO. They’ll compete and surprise the oppositon for now and it’ll be fun, but the team would need a new miracle run to get as far as they did last year.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
I think we had 21 wins.
“total nonsense – that is exactly what happens.”
The Flames are 3 inches from being down by 1.

the disallowed goals even out that bit o’ luck. I hope no one’s even trying to imply this game should be closer than it is

Henrik Larsson’s my all-time favourite soccer player!
Karlsson is 6ft6, and his nickname is “The Calgary Tower.” He’s another pick (like Kiprusoff) that Sutter found when no one else knew who the guy was. Very animated, when he makes a big save, or when he wins a game.
Remember that header from, what was it? Can it really be from ’94???
Who needs Price? Let’s trade him now!
Ok…Dennis Priestly is my favorite dart player….

Four goals this soon seems sureal. The Twilight Zone.
Jonas Hoglund!! what a squid he was
It’s a song of comradery. Regardless of the situation we are with you.

Man. The look on Sutter’s face. I don’t think he’s even callin’ line changes anymore.
“Whoever wants on, knock yourself out. Remember: Only five at a time.”
make sure you don’t get run over when you jump off the bandwagon.
Nope, not that one, I’m pretty sure he was running down the top right side to rhe right. Think it was a World Cup.
I’m getting old….he was good though!

Now *that* is a period
Man that has to be in the net Gionta, thankfully they have the lead
Boy Sutter’s gonna have to give it up man. Looking like he’s already lost his mind !!
Great effort.
Not entirely sure, but fairly certain Sutter was cryin’ as he made his way across the ice.
Baby.
Glad that Eller and Cammy are going. Huge weights lifted off their respective shoulders
Game was on Rogers Sportsnet West here in Toronto until a few moments ago when Rogers pulled the plug.
PK played 10:28 that period
If Lars keeps playing like that, will he stay with Pleks and Cammi?
Are you blogging from the back deck? Perfect night to test run the outfit you’ll wear out west. Have the kids turn that tv in the livingroom so you can see it and send out a couple of beers every 20 minutes or so. Work that flask lid until you can get it open, take a swig and close it and drop it back in your pocket in less than 7 seconds. Then get the wife to boil up a few dogs at the end of every period just to see how many you can consume over the course of a game. It’s all about training JD.
***Subbang!!!***
Unreal, on pace for 30+ mins and he +2 already. Iginla -2
Not watching the game. How’s Weber looking out there? Is he cool as ice?

Kiprusoff went down pretty easy! pfffft
10 for Kipper on the dive.
These Refs are useless. I don’t care about the goal but if a player is pushed into your goalie it isn’t his fault.
Because Gionta’s huge frame would bowl Kipper over that easily…
wow! Kipper sure went down easy didn’t he?
What REALLY burns me is you let that P*ssy tanguay score. I mean come on. Iginla is repectable, but ALEX I BROKE A NAIL TANGUAY???????
Tanguay is a very good hockey player who was the Habs’ best forward while he was with the team, and never got the credit he deserved from his coach for some reason — nor for the fans, who were still in the Carbo honeymoon at the time.
Let’s give another point away, why not we won’t need them.I can’t believe this, and if you think of the posts by the Flames, Habs are lucky to get the point they do have.
Well hopefully the boys come out & turn it on & win
Its epic collapse night tonight in the NHL, FLA blows a 2-0 lead with 2 min to go. Not quite as epic as us though

JM is NOT a competent coach. you need a coach who’s aggressive, instead of JM, who always sits on leads, by going into a defensive shell.
JM= LOSER!
These late period goals are no accidents, This team plays scared, starts running around and I think just expects doom and gloom at the end of periods. Am I the only one feeling a bit worried with just a 2 goal lead.

Those are some bold statements based on a bad five minutes in a sixty minute game.
Well Da Hema…if you despise the Habs then sign off;)
Normally I’d somewhat agree about defensive nonsense, but they’ve been aggressive as hell. Eventually it comes back into their zone and oops – in the net. It happens
I haven’t seen JM on the ice at all during the Habs games. You might want to get your glasses checked.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
I doubt it’s punishment, as AK46 just stepped on the gas. I think Eller is good for competition. They are both having good games
Just for the record, I dont believe this team went into a defensive shell with a 4 goal lead, they had some quality chances and good pressure but this new flames goalie played real well. They should have had a 3 goal lead going into the 3rd, except for the late hiccup
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
It would be nice to see the Habs blow-out an opponent for a change, especially when they have been the more dominant team but Calgary credit, they have fought back. They could have easily gave up after the 4th goal. Now the 3rd period would be interesting to see how JM responds; Sit back or pour it on?
Hey guys.
Missed the 2nd period…how was it?
thrilled to see Ak play with spirit and passion, disGusted with JM that it took him 1/2 a season + to speak to AK. logic would dictate that you speak to your struggling player(s) at every opportunity, betcha ole grease ladened hair JM didn’t have the inclination to speak to Oby

theres got to be a way to get rid of these losers!!
Both teams playing a fast paced game, best game this year, as far as speed for both teams.
Well, that’s certainly one way of looking at it Ian. Hey, what the heck.
***Subbang!!!***
Punkster! I am having a ball, watching a very fast paced game. We will win by one again.
Naa, they add colour to the evening. Comic relief, ya know? Kind of like the clowns at a rodeo between the rides.
***Subbang!!!***

Ian,
It is no coast! It’s the wonderful “system” to sit back and play passive rather than hammer down.
It happens with with such regularity and has to be mandated rather than chance occurrance.
Are you watching??? Its 4-3.
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of a Jerry Springer Show”
oH, SHUSH
I didn’t know posts counted as goals. Those shots hit the post…tough luck. Yeah you missed by 3 inches, but you still missed.
Pretty sure we got a post too….so, 5-5 in however it is you keep score.

Man whatever. I have his figure and can’t stand to look at it. Not after his pansy act in the playoffs. Truth is he didn’t want to play for a team that had no chance. Hope he enjoys calgary, THEY are a contender amirite?
.
No Wis…no Benny…no WAY!
Great way to start the day, $135 just to be able to leave the house and go to WORK on a Monday.

No Wiz, Pouliot, Auld in?
Yikes..
In 1995 the Habs drafted 8th.
They picked Terry Ryan (8 games in the NHL, no points).
The 11th pick that year? Jarome Iginla.
Yes, but 10 teams passed over him and the team that drafted him traded him, so we weren’t the only ones to miss out.
Tony Marinaro doing the money fingers…. it always makes me laugh hard.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Gainey and the Stars preferred Todd Harvey over Iginla.
Calgary wanted Iggy not Todd Harvey

Did Gill just deke in the neutral zone? Dandy..
Will someone please beg the agent of PJ Stock to get him off L’Antichambre?
The guy is an embarrasment to Anglophones across the province. I think the guy uses no verbs whatsoever.
The rest of the Francophone panel just laugh at him.
Yessssssssssss!
Andrei will get another to put this one away.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Hmmm no Wiz or Benny at practice, on the sick list and a game time decision?
Must be a trade coming…
LARSS ELLERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
LARS ! ELLER! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
QUELLE PASS DE PLEKANEC! (ignore my horrible french)
The Great Dane!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
YES!!! Good job Lar’s.
Wooo Lars!
…spacek
That was a goal scorer’s goal by Eller.
Man that Cammy-Pleky-Lars line is good.
And AK46 has been effective so far.
Lars came to play tonight!
I’m worried Auld is fighting the puck a bit. Twice there he should have just frozen it.
Love the firewagon approach both teams are playing right now. And what more can be said of Pleks?
Why do we have such bad discipline?
especially Cammalleri man..
Holy moly, what a shot!
I SHALL EAT CROW. AND LOVE THE TASTE OF IT.
CAMMALLERIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!
FINALLY! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Cami! Wow, did he pick that top corner or what!
YEAAAH AHAHAHAHAH CAMMY! Nice snipe
He’s baaaaaaaaack! Finally gets one against Calgary, wicked shot!
What a snipe.
El Camino!
Burnin’ rubber on pavement! Smokeshow!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Nice face Sutter!
Okay, I have to say more about Pleks. If he doesn’t win the Selke, there is no justice in the NHL (yes, I know there is already no justice in the NHL).
against his former team! so sick!!
Cammy out of his slump? That was a classic snipe by #13.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Price looks like a punk in that toque on the bench! (( Sarcasm! ))
Way to go Cammy!!!
WHAT PLAY BY ELLER – to stop the odd man rush!
yes Lars, just …yes
As my late father used to say: “He looks like he was born with a bad smell in his nose”
Wow, this game is gonna get chippy soon
Mr. Boone – answer to your problem
“BIG – BALD – ALEX – AUUULD!”
Mike :
BALD
GOD
ZOD?
Imagine this team with a healthy Markov and Gorges, and Iginla…
It was a set play so Cammy could sneak out of the penalty box for the snipe.
Panic time!
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-
Killer giveaway.
Paciorrety = Goat
hang on to your butts
Not another total game collapse,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Well we all saw that coming.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Alex Auld is a sieve.
Ouch… Alex… and the Patches turnover sucked, too.
Centre Hice: Bruins blogger gets racial on PK Subban
And now you see why Auld has only played five games this year.
Jr. B goal.
What the hell is going on?!
I’m going to be sick…
Oh COME on. That was a mistake but are you telling me that’s also not on Auld? It was a clear shot to his mid section. You have to stop those. I zero faith he’s going to make the big saves we need
Weak goal too deep in the crease again. PULL HIM NOW
Wayyyy to Jinxxxx it alll Mr Boone!!!!
Im having flashbacks of the WJC.

Whooooaa baby!!! WHAT is goin’ on in Pennsylvania!!?
Has anyone told Jacques Martin to stop listening to Ralph Malph lead preservation system? Sit on it does not wash!
The Defense is a good offence. Come On Jacques!
and now it’s tied. Who’s sucking now?
*faceplam*

I am sick.
TERRIBLE rebound control, Price is in 1 goal too late.
OMG. This is epic.
Wow. It isn’t even like the Flames have been playing well.
Sorry, Auld.
Speaking of Jr. B. PK, don’t flop like you’re in house league out there. Lord love a Duck.
Well, that was a crummy 3 minutes.
Centre Hice: Bruins blogger gets racial on PK Subban
Well thats it, I think we know where this is heading… hopefully Price can turn the tides like Karlsson did.
Sometimes I just don’t understand this team.
tabernac
JM = Loser
Wow eh? Thems the breaks.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Mike,
Wanted to ask about your comment on Red Fisher covering his 6000th game.
I think it was an age joke, it was the Habs 6000th game and Mike was implying that Red was around when they started.
A sh!tstorm
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Ya ,fk two points….and here’s the goalie, thank god!
Well Mr.Boone you asked and you have recieved…….PRICE!
______________________________________Long live Captain Gionta.
No call on Stajan, but a call on the Habs….just great.
At least Auld is only on a one-year contract.
Well good to see they’re consistent at least in shit officiating
Auld couldn’t stop a beachball!
Pathetic having Spacek and Subban on together??? What are they thinking?
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of a Jerry Springer Show”
Sutter cries to the refs and Flames get next call, such BS
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
I for one think it’s funny that it’s almost believable.
The guy has been around since Moby Dick was a minnow.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
woah! the reff looks like pronger
well at least the trolls are happy
Why are you happy?Do you see this team in the play-off’s? I’d like them to win THIS YEARS STANLEY CUPbut they need some changes,no? Wake -up!
I won’t start whining about lousy calls about holding but Desharnais literally carried Stajan from the blue line to the red line less than a minute ago.
What?! They don’t call the trip on Desharnais the shift before and they call THIS?
It was only a matter of time before the refs got involved.
no more home game for AA
You make it a two syllable name. AUL-DY…AUL-DY
Well at least if they win now, the folks at La Cage will be happy.
Cammalleri is a defensive disaster.
A-LEX
woah Spatch!
“Start the season with a clean equipment bag and a freah bucket of febreze!”-CharlieHodgeFan
Big surprise. The three posts weren’t enough prior warning? Auld isn’t a capable back-up.
Ouch….hope Spacek’s back…
PKs rookie mistake of the game.
***Subbang!!!***
Wow ….what the hell just happened…
Hey – Auld had a bad night. He’s been good on some others. Martin made the right move, though, in yanking him.
So Shootout or what….lol
THIS TEAM PISSES ME OFF,THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY.
This team just loses it when they start being scored against, they can’t pass to save their lives and brainfarts in the D-zone, endless ones at that.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
OK, this is embarrassing
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Pathetic.
It’s Jean Pascal vs. B-Hop all over again!
anyone miss Carbo? I do, I do
“Who wants it more?”
That’s generally an empty cliché, but in a game like this where either team scores on every third chance, it’s even emptier. The game’s going to go to who has the last bounce, because wanting it when the percentages are going to pot doesn’t actually get you anything.
This is going to be one scary PK…
Lovely.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
kind’ve like how you’re a waste of space?
JM where’s your notebook?
I hope this game doesnt make it way into the next CGY dvd collection.

JM….Needs to go!!!! NOW!!!
Oh the “terrible coach” penalty. I love these. Sorry, once again I want the coaches to grab/yell at the player when they count it’s too many. No excuse
Pearn giving it to PK
Agree, get him off the ice, he was useless on those last two goals.
***Subbang!!!***
OH…MY…GOD.
How can a professional team get so razzled at home? Last-minute goals, no rallies, panicky play — There’s something wrong with the psychology of this team…
If they are lucky!
“The Allo Police Media – a collection of bitter ex-coaches, players and wannabees whose collective lack of success accounts for their present positions in Sports’ equivalent of a Jerry Springer Show”
I wouldn’t say he sucked really. At least two were total team and D collapses.
***Subbang!!!***
Either we kill this and get some mo back or it kills us.
I am bawling my eyes out. We need one of our leaders to step up and say the BS stops RIGHT NOW!
Nobody is questioning his character here. He’s had a horrible game, that’s all.
Great PK
JVF…just cause a player wears the C.H. DOESN’T MEAN HE’S A GOOD PLAYER=AULD ,not so good and a bad back-up pickup by the Goat!
I won’t comment, I already gave my opinion on that many times
Well the Habs are playing the team that beat that Powerhouse Maple leafs in a shootout……..lol
This is embarassing .blowing a 4 goal lead. Yikes
do us all a favor, next time you jump off the bandwagon stay off. we don’t need fans like you.
Do you know him personally to say that?
I’m having a deja vu… the Edmonton game is ringing all over..
man montreal has to OWN the season stat for most goals given up in the final minute of a period… its pathetic.. a period is 20 minutes not 19 or 18….. if i do recall they did this EXACT act not to many games ago…
“After 13 years, I couldn’t accept to be number two.“
Guy Lafleur.
The anti-Hab refs are at it again
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
I’m without words.
AHHHHH! Great pass from Pleks.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Well, again… Refs sucking again. Boo pushing Eller… no penalty.
both starting goalies yanked, whats the stats on that?
lol Eller
Great pass by AK.
Hilarious. A weak call on Gionta. Then a Habs scoring chance and no call. Too bad Jackson is afraid to officiate fairly in Montreal. Did anyone miss him last year when he had the knee injury? Clown. Just retire.
AK’s is playing well
NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE SHOT!!!!!
Mathman ,it’s been about 8000 days since the CH last had the Stanley Cup and you say relax….what kind of math is that!
Holy Kostitsyn, Batman!!!!!!
And the lack of finish returns…
WHAT A SNIPE
Time to pull the collective heads out, and pour on the pressure.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
AK baby!!! Yes!
AK46!!
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
What a snipe by AK46!!
Sutter should yell and complain and have that goal disallowed.
AK46 has woken up!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
AK’s smiling again
The NEW and IMPROVED AK46!!!
***Subbang!!!***
can’t job the Habs tonight, refs!!!
One more and let’s send Kipper home.
Yes it’s true. The Belarusian Beast is back!
Back, back…the Belarusian Beast is back!!!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
WOW, almost 4-0!
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Nice one AK! Love the way their playing.
Good shot, but kipper is god awful these days, missing everything with that glove hand tonight
Welcome back AK!!!
omg inches
The speed of the Habs is too much for the Flames to handle.
So, is everyone having a good time tonight? Timo?
Loving it.
One, Two, Three and Four….
Chicken wings with one more!
ANOOOOTHER ONE!!
HALPERN! All the bounces are coming up Milhouse tonight!
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Halpern with an alley-oop

They’re taking out the wings to defrost!
Sorry, Kipper.
Oh well Kipper. Sh!t Halperns.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
there is poo all over the Canadiens bed right now….
My fantasy team is crying right now, but I’m happy!
Da ghosts in da house!!!!!
When Kipper held on long for the whistle, it was over for him.
Keep the foot on the pedal.
