You are here: Home » Boone » PERFECT road game
For the first time since last March 25, Benoit Pouliot scored a goal.
A divisional win on the road.
Shutout for Price – first since Nov. 11, 2008.
That call was corrupt.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Wonder how it feels to know you are only half-a**ing it and your getting booed at home by your favorite fans???
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Pouliot is getting no help on the icing calls.
So it’s pretty funny to hear all the Habs fans in there (which the CBC won’t mention, clearly) booing when Cammalleri was held in front of the Senator’s net and there was no call.
But it’s funniest to hear ALL of them boo Kovalev – Habs and Sens fan unite for a common cause?
/\\ikeGO HABS GO!
Looks like the standard “questionable” reffing tonight….
Pathetic, my pirate RDS feed looks better than the CBC feed tonight from their site.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu.
Wow, bonehead icing by Pou.
We drew Walkom again as a ref? Fantastic…
Love the Don Cherry comment. Kerry Fraser reminds me of William H. Macy’s character from Fargo, the stressed out car sales manager…
Bike helmet with fur.
Yup. The career is over; he can take the hair off.
Centre Hice: documenting one fan’s attachment to the Montreal Canadiens.
Well, look at that, Kerry Fraser finally got some glasses.
Wow Kerry. Nice hair.
Hrudey is a great analyst and I thought he broke down the play pretty damn well. It’s not his fault HNIC told him to break down our failure. It’s also not his fault that Plek and Gill totally gave up on the play.
if he lets in 3 goals on 18 shots ….yes
HNIC is NEVER positive when it comes to the Habs. The hatred from them is very apparent.I think they thoroughly enjoy getting their digs in whenever they can.
tonite Gomez won’t score !
Glenn Healy won a Cup in Madison Square Garden, yeah and so did Christobal Huet and remember Marc-Andre Fleury’s lights-out goaltending to win the 2010 Gold Medal for Canada?
Bench-sitters shouldn’t brag about Championships.
Nice! Everybody keep the jinxes coming!
Tonight, Elliott will have a shutout.
Tonight, Pouliot won’t score.
4-2 Ottawa…Hope im wrong
2 on 1 Fake pass deke
Yeah bro, we better win – really disappointed from the performance against Jersey, but lets hope that was just rust.
… The refs for tonight’s game are Stephen Walkom and Kevin The Riot Pollock.
… The refs for tonight’s game are Stephen walkom and Kevin The Riot Pollock.
If we lose to this crap team who should be tired aswell I’m going to be pissed! It better be Habs 6 -Sens 3…..
Call up Weber already to play the point on the PowerPlay. Even if he only plays 6 minutes ( powerplay only), this guy can help. 1 more goal a game is the difference between a win and a loss.
wow slow day on here
Serves KovyII right for signing with the NHL’s most boring team. Just like Wayne Rooney shall find out, there’s more to being happy than money. One is much better off taking a slight pay cut for a far better situation.
If he’d signed with LA and at a more reasonable length they could’ve made a serious push this year in the playoffs, going deep. Now he’s going down with NJ’s failing team, not all about money Kovy, you’re going to wish you’d won something in 15 years.
Guh. But he plays The System …
Full Breezer 4 Life
Picard has impressed. What are our options for OB?? Does he need to clear waiver down or back up from Hamilton??
Eller totally blew by Darche there.
lmfao,thats good stuff.
I don’t understand why people think that was such a great shift for the sens. Sure it was in our zone but they couldn’t do anything. they had nothing on us. Couldn’t even put the puck on net. I bet we could play in our own zone the rest of the game and still win this one with ease.
I am fairly sure that he does…but too bad – he needs to be the odd man out.
Fighting Ignorance since 1970 (It’s taking longer than I thought).
Dean Brown is the Senators regular TV and radio voice. What do you expect from CBC? Objectivity?
Careful, Jacques – AK46 might get a hat trick. Maybe you’d better just shut it down.
O’Byrne has a one way contract and I am thinking Picard has a two way deal. If that is indeed true then I would imagine Picard goes down when Markov gets back in the lineup. If they both are on a one way then PG has some tough decisions to make.
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
Please don’t sing that song till there is like 1 minute left
NaNaNaNaNa Hey! Hey! Hey! Goodbye!
“It must be love!”
Oh dear. Not the Chant. Please.
Formerly known as Camel_Larry..
..”No more Looser on this teams!!” – Canadienboy
Too early for that song!
Lmao @ the crowd…. that chant always backfires but its hilarious that theyre getting that in their own building
I hate it when they tempt fate with that song, shut up!!!
So, are the Sens fans saying “thanks for coming” and singing us out, or are Habs fans actually this retarded?
ANOTHER excellent game by kovy! they must love him here! pure excitement everytime he touches the puck.
your friendly neighborhood Salted One
My highlight of the night is how Dean Brown is COMPLETELY ignoring that the building is 80%+ Habs fans. They’re singing “Na Na Na Na” and he doesn’t even mention it.
Even that senile old boob Bob Cole would have said *something* about it!
Can the Habs keep it together for Price? PLEASE, hockey gods …
All those great players the Sens squandered and look at em now!pift
yeah, I know…still pisses me off though.
Wow Pouliot can dangle!
Picard has been awesome. Sucks to be O’byrne.
Pou is having a game.
It might be the only game that a lot of these Hab fans get to attend this year. Let ‘em have their fun.
He’s on the Sens payroll.
You’re crazy if you think a two way contract means Picard will be sent down. He’s been fantastic. They’ll eat O’byrnes contract in the minors before they send Picard down.
As much as i hate to say it,i think obyrne is going to be trade bait.
If they send O’Byrne down they are guaranteed to lose him on waivers when he is recalled. So the Habs lose a player and are stuck with half his salary to boot. PG will trade him before sending him down if it come to that.
Gomez is awful
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Roman….I know I’ve been hard on you in the past. But please, PLEASE, pay attention. You just got caught too deep, AGAIN and gave up a 2 on 1 while on the powerplay, again. We’ve seen this movie before, it doesn’t end well.
Last time Price was this close to a you know what you put the puck and Price through the net eliminating the you know what.
Just be mindful of your play please.
How come this idiot announcer refuses to mention the great defensive play on that 2 on 1? Irritating…
Pitt has 15 shots in the first 10 minutes of the second period already. Still a 0-0 game with St. Louis. Crosby must be having flashbacks.
“3P 14:58:Sometimes G&G are just beautiful to watch”
Who are you talking about here, Gordeeva and Grinkov?
Pyatt couldn’t hit sand if he fell off of a camel.
This is a great shift for the Sens.
That makes no sense – unless they’re going to trade him to LA. But that makes no sense either. Can they save his cap hit by sitting him? Don’t think so. Strange…
“I think that’s where my Grandma used to keep the jam – top shelf!”
SHILOH I LOVE IT…. Great line. I’m gonna steal it OK?
Hilarious. Dean Brown says “The crowd doesn’t like that call” but all you hear is Habs fans cheering the no goal.
Can he go back to A-Channel or wherever he usually broadcasts Sens game?
Man, I can’t stand the CBC and their anti-Canadiens bigotry.
Price made a nice stop there on what’s his face. Considering that was his first official shot, it was that much nicer.
Hey Boone, you got “georges” up there, isn’t it “Gorges”?
Pouliot can’t even buy a shot on goal! Dude needs some luck.
Pouliot was half a short hair away from acquiring a little confidence there…
Kelly hit the post.
Pouliot playing very well, maybe put him back with GG, Gomez needs to show something tonight.
As soon as that arm went up, my first thought was “of course, a bad interference call”. Glad to be wrong about the refs for once.
Not on his first shot.
Fine with me – hope it’s OK with the guy I stole it from……
I thought the exact same thing…
Anyone see that parachute thing?
God do we ever miss Markov on the PP.
Can we say caffouillage?
WTF, How can our PP be so bad, its embarrassing
OUR POWER PLAY IS SO BAD…… SO BAD…. Breezer passing throught the middle bad….
This is why our pp sucks. You cannot take penalties.
Just as well… probably wouldn’t have scored on the powerplay anyway.
Took my reffing course today, & that is NOT a penalty, by the books. The attempt was clearly for the puck.
Good thing Price could see that shot. If he’d been screened, that was in the top corner, no doubt.
Philly scores on a Useless-sarek giveaway. 1-0.
I don’t know if you saw it below. But Ilya Kovalchuk is apparently a healthy scratch tonight in Buffalo. Do the Devils intends on tanking?
Two-nil Philly. The Blue Bubble has burst.
Someone should tell NJ that Kovalchuk as a healthy scratch doesn’t equate to instant cap relief.
AHH, you beat me to it, loving it. It’s probably the only time I can root for Philly. It makes me cringe but I hate the Leafs
God, there’s nothing I’d love to do more than punch Ron MacLean senseless.
Get in line
The pass by Pleky on the goal was sick! Some kind of magic with AK46. I think he’s back.
Cherry = Idiot
Gomez should be a healthy scratch next game.
Are you going to bark all day little doggy? Or are you going to bite?
Trade him to NJ for Kovy, Gomez knows the system in NJ. Not sure Marty and Kovy is a good mix. One wants to play offensive hockey the other super D to pad his stats.
One more beer please…..
ROMANES EUNT DOMUS…..
Goals off the knee and no Cammi!
Mario Tremblay giving advice to Montreal, here’s some advice you should’ve given 15 years ago: Don’t hire me.
Of course Don Cherry defends that lunatic Rypien
I was thinking the same thing…
Excellent Coaches Corner. Not one mention of Montreal. Atta Go Red Deer Ronnie and K-Town’s Village Idiot.
I went with a bus tour from Montreal to Ottawa for tonights game so I’m loving the comments about how loud the fans are. As far az I can see it’s a majority habs crowd in here. At the start of the game when the lights were off before player announcements they had a spotlight searching the crowd and I made a joke that they are looking for the sens fans. Gotta love it!!!
The color commentator for CBC was saying he spoke to Martin about the power play, and Martin explained the Habs need to get more shots on net and players in front to create traffic.
How many bloody times have we heard that refrain?
Nigel Tufnel: It really puts perspective in things, doesn’t it?
David St. Hubbins: Oh, too much. Too much fu*king perspective.
–This is Spinal Tap
as was I! how manty times did we see that from Cammy last season?
See, the problem is, the players don’t get to see Martin’s interviews.
Cool user name!
The ills of the PP are really increasing the size of the Montreal Tabarnac-all Choir.
Blatant shot to the head by Neil on Max.
Lovely. Neil throws an elbow, then looks back to make sure that the referee didn’t see it.
Neil’s starting to play dirty. Someone needs to “have a word” with him. Come on Moen, that’s what you’re there for.
L’Artiste rings a dandy off the high post – what a shot!
Take him PK.
Did Fisher just punch Kovalev? Looked like he missed Moen and landed a couple on Kovy!
F**K him up PK!
Regin doesn’t want anything to do with Subban.
She’s livening up now.
I’ll take that trade, Moen for Fisher
Nice, Fisher taken off.
Man…another incredible pass by Pleks. Worth every penny (unlike some).
AK46 would’ve roofed the shot that Moen missed. This year anyway.
I think Foligno did
Picard is a nice surprise – steady.
Starts with a G ends with a Z
Read my mind.
I dunno…Moen made a nice move, Elliot just made a better save
Ottawa has really been pissed away as a team.
Yeah, it was a good save. Moen got the puck well off the ice.
CAREY CAREY CAREY
Sorry, couldn’t hear you, too busy grinding my axe.
In fairness to Hammer, he – and everyone else in the world – figured Gomez would shoot, so he pinched.
Thinking Gomez would shoot is the World’s mistake. Wouldn’t you agree?
It is Gomez after all.
Now that is funny. And true, actually, Hammer was stupid on that play.
Face it – you’ve got nothing. Just move along.
Fighting Ignorance since 1970 (It’s taking longer than I thought).
Keep telling yourself that, and you might just believe it. You’re like a ball of yarn to a kitten. Eventually you just get too boring to play with.
Those goals by Brother Andrei were beatifical.
It means you must have missed the 10,000 watt smile after he scored his second goal of the season. Granted it flashed on the screen for only about a nanosecond, but he certainly smiled in that game too.
Olé, olé, olé oleé
Carey’s favorite city is Dallas? Dallas?! I mean nothing against it – I lived in Irving, TX for a year- but…Dallas?!
Question: I just switched from Bell to Rogers for TV. When I had Bell, I had four different CBCHD channels … does Rogers only have one??
Line of the Night, bro!
Great, now you’ve jinxed him.
“Analyst: And I will say things you already know, five seconds after you yell them at your television.”
Just tuned in…who’s the dude in the pink tie on HotStove? And takes 900 ppl in the stands=Kovalchuk’s salary per game of 42 000$! WOW!
I saw the first smile in two years from Andrei Kostitsyn. What does this mean???
sadly (?) yes
Enjoying the game and employing his talent, stable home life can do a ton for a player.
Nah. Danno’s a champ at one-liners, quips, plays on words, puns and other funny stuff. He’ll come up with others.
Andrei Kostitsyn currently leading the entire 2003 draft class in goals.
I’m just sayin’…
514 for central and 582 for west.
Gotta laugh at the Devils. What a bunch of F-ups they are this season. Win 3-0 in Montreal, scratch Kovy at home, lose 5-0. How many players did they dress tonight anyway, 14?
Buzz around the net with some intensity and good things happen!! Let’s so hope “My Dinner with Andrei” keeps this up all year, he’s looking great so far. Also hope that opens the floodgates for Benny!
Now let’s bury them in the third, no let up!
GO HABS GO
The problem is that only ONE line is scoring. Without Cammy scoring some goals and the G&G line doing something it adds up to trouble. Ottawa is brutal, but any decent NHL team will target the Pleks line to shutdown. Leaving who to score?
John Tavares just completed a natural hat trick against Florida and Tomas Vokoun.
Can’t believe people were calling him an overrated No. 1 pick.
Should be an interesting third. Especially if the refs continue to pretend like they’re blind.
Ottawa is classless garbage, Just like the laffs.
We are playing well, even though Ottawa is a bottom team. We are skating hard and Price has been there when needed, along with his posts. Halpern is coming along nicely.
Danno sure booked it with that one!
I wish the Habs hadn’t shown up with that pathetic effort on Thursday night. It would have been nice to really stick it to NJ. They’ve been sticking it to us for 20 years.
“thats the story through 40 minutes” What are you talking about, MacLean? Didn’t say a thing about the game. You know it’d be different if Ottawa was up 3-0
Why can’t they play like that against us?
`Kovycuky is top 5 in the whole world…who in thier right mind scratch’s a player like that and at that contract?omg.
Kinda feel sorry for Lou because I think ownership forced his hand on a deal he would have never made on his own. Love that KovyII is tanking, because Karma is a Bitch. LA was a perfect fit for him in so many ways but he went for the money. The funny thing he could easily have made up the difference in endorsements in LA.
Troubled little brother is out of town and floating Kovalev has moved on. I think he is in Ottawa.!
Problems gone. Time to play the game for Andrei
I just wonder what kinda changes will happen in New Jersey if they dont make the playoffs. with how they have been playing lately, thats deffinately possible,
Wow…Benny scores, Andrei scores TWO, and Price so far pitching a _________ (word censored because of foolish superstition). Also, (at least) 3 posts for the Sens behind Price…the hockey gods are on our side tonight. The thing is, we pretty much know what to expect from the rest of the team…but if these 3 mysteries get it together, we have a good shot this season, and beyond.
Really, the whole team looks great. Especially Pleks, but also (in the surprise/revelation category) Picard.
Not sure how it translates in Russian, but his agent would see it as saying CHA-CHING!!!___________________________________________
Note the new digs! but yeah I’m still on Twitter!
My sympathies. Rogers sucks.
If you want Centre Ice, you’ll have to take every other sports package as well.
Outside of On Demand, that’s the only benefit they offer over Expressvu.
So I guess Gorges got his 2nd PP point on the Pou Pou goal there
“even though Ottawa is a bottom team” – I think you just jinxed the Summit Game, Ian. :p
That and his wife and kid have finally joined him, they were living in Belarus until this year. Good to be on the same continent as your family.
Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, Datsyuk, Stamkos. Hell, I’d take Parise before Kovulchuk.
How wonderfully backhanded you are with your compliments.
I’m so confused. I figured for sure after Benny scored JM would have put him back with G&G yet Pyatt is still on that line.
- In Price We Trust
please don’t spend this period sitting on the lead, keep attacking.
It’s still a jinx with the _______, especially when it’s been so long for him.
Bad ice in OTT tonight, feels like it’s an away game in ATL or FLA.
Rogers has the benefit of uninterrupted service no matter the weather. Did we already have this conversation??
Does Gill have a learning disability? Thats like his billionth time taking that call.
Grow up. Nothing backhanded about what I wrote.
PK is gonna be a superstar one day.
Price seems much quicker this year
Anyone else still not used to seeing Gonchar on that PP w/ Kovy?
Sometimes it’s good to shoot wide. You’d almost think they draw this stuff up! LOL
Go Habs Go!
That’s his first penalty of the season. Give him a break.
I think Gonchar has nightmarish flashbacks every time he sees Moen bearing down on him.
Gonchar is scared of his own shadow. But yeah, Moen likes playing against him I think.
Will not side wirth Clay very often, but that post was pretty innocent IMO
Meh…I’m not superstitious. And with me being in China, the jinx is nullified by distance.
You just blew my mind. I take it back.
LOL, was thinking the same thing.
Haha yeah, I think he was eyeing up the shot he had that scored on the pp the other day
Pucker just has a burr in his ass about me…makes his judgement poor.
not sure if the gorges shot was intentional but alot of these plays are done intentionally, the bottom yellow moulding on the boards kicks the puck out pretty hard.
No, I’m reading you with 20/20 vision.
Disagree. He may not be clicking but he’s not floating. From what I saw of Kovy II the other night the Titanic could have put him to good use.
Yeah, not floating…still overpaid though. He needs a message: Produce. Now.
BTW…love the “floating” metaphor!
what is the link to watch the game online? anyone?
Your tax dollars at work.
An orangutang with a haircut is still and orangutang.
You can dress him up but you can’t take him out.
OMG! Scott Hartnell cut his hair!!! Less hair = More points??
He is still ugly. But man oh man how it helps. He is no longer the UGLIEST guy in the NHL… CONGRATS OVIE, the new king…
The Senators are on their way to becoming the Islanders.
Ottawa wishes they were playing as well as the Islanders and had Tavares.
Alexandre Picard better stay in the lineup when Markov comes back.
I didn’t like the way he looked in the pre-season but he’s been top 3 since the start of the year.
For whom? There’s no room, unfortunately.
Thinking the same thing – but who sits?
kostitsyn with 66.6% of the offense in this game…
He’s from Hell!
Generally happens when you have two thirds of something.
Did you hear Pouliot yelling to Lapierre “En arriere! En Arriere!” …I guess they speak French to each other! Love it.
Just saying, currently 5-2 philly over leafs, 13 mins left
Anybody else hear that?
How does an extra $5.5 million in cap room sound?
I’d love it. But Hammer isn’t going anywhere.
Why do you have to go crapping on my dreams like that?
Daniel F. got 3 goals yesterday…just relax!
PLZZZ PLZZ 1 for CAREY!!! Just one!!!!
YES HABS CAN!!
Not to worry about Alfredson… We have Eller playing center on the 4th line. That will show ‘em.
You are a joke
I see a few still don’t get your humour. Pity the fools!
Eller with a hat-trick. One goal per minute on the ice.
That’s outright stupidity. Should be a suspension for that.
Well played game but geez the Sens look bad this year !?!
Price already has 2 shutouts against the Sens in his career. This will be his 3rd.
No injuries please!
Dirty Rotten Bastards.
Really classy by Ottawa right there…
You lost, take it like men.
Carkner should be suspended for that sucker punch on AK.
Can we say it?
First shutout since Remembrance Day 2008 – congrats Carey on a perfect performance! Ottawa didn’t put up much of a fight in this one, but you still have to make the saves, and he kept ‘em all out. Wooo!
First star Elliot he played without a team…Second Star Price and his goal post….
A well earned shutout for Price, a goal for Pouliot, AK lurking and striking like a muskie, and Subban startlingly good.
Okay, I’m up for the next episode in the 2010/2011 habs soap opera.
Congrats carey, you deserve it.
Can you say shutout for Price? Wow, been a LONG time! Sweet!!!
Near perfect game by the whole team, as well. Sure you could point out a mistake here or there, but why bother? Doesn’t get much better than this.
It’s been a while, Carey. Good job!
Carey Price the Sen-killer.
SHUTOUT!!!! WAY TO GO PRICEY!!!!
Who’ll get the first star?
yep. ANDREI ANDREI ANDREI.
Way to go Carey! And a big hand to the rest of the team, too. Job well done!
CAREY, CAREY! Almost two years, what a monkey.
Carey Price with one of the quietest shutouts you’ll ever see.
SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT, SHUT OUT,
Loudly and proudly.
And Toronto gets smoked 5-2. All is good with the world tonight.
Gotta be AK
2 on 1 Fake pass deke
can we play Ottawa again tomorrow?
(Xtrahabsfan waits for reactions from others)
Nice to see Toronto starting to settle back where they belong. Won’t be long now until they’re at or near the bottom.
Real nice win…Ak46 is alive and well…great game for Price… and the Laffs will lose tonight…does not get much better!
“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”
The 3 big question marks coming into the season showed up and put up (some numbers) tonight.
Good job Ak46, BIG-Ben and Price.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
No, that was Brodeur’s in the last game. Carey had some difficult stops to make tonight.
That’s a pretty inflammatory post. I hope nobody responds its content.
lol. Sad isn’t it?
I am not laughing with you, I am laughing at you.
So that’s all ya got tonight huh? Sure you don’t wanna point out how Price was playing too deep in his net or has consistency issues? And yeah his posts played a strong game, no doubt, but so did his glove and his blocker.
if i had a pet orangutang i would take him wherever i went
88 is the new 23
Hahaha – post of the day! Awesome stuff
Spacek is awful and slow
Shh! Don’t tell Gainey.
Nice to see Price has his head in the game.
I love it
Whoops, meant to reply that to my post about the “Carey, Carey” chant
I think I saw Gomez again!
Price is looking pretty steady in this one. now if only he could get a little more goal support and make life a little easier for him.
What exactly does Lapierre bring to this team? He can’t kill penalties, he’s not talented enough for the power play, he doesn’t hit. If his name were ThePeter, would he even be playing in the NHL?
Too bad you missed the playoffs last year. They were fun.
And… that’s why goalies play the butterfly.
Winning 1-0 and still half the posts are negative and bashing the usual suspects. PATHETIC…. START ENJOYING HOCKEY PEOPLE.
I you laugh your a$$ off, there’ll be none of you left.
LMAO!!! Beautiful Booner!!
Hey, at least he didn’t get on Carey’s case. That’s a start.
I didn’t support the idea – just threw it out for discussion. The only consistency here is your smug nastiness. Why don’t you go off on Fisher and Todd again – or have they finally drawn the line clear enough for you? Grow up.
Nathan Horton is good, what a shot, 3-2 Rangers over Bruins
Okay, why doesn’t JM understand that putting Eller on the second line would be a good thing?
Having great luck with this feed, if anyone needs one..
This is one of those games. Goals needed, soon. How many can they miss?
They’re scoring like Halpern just punched.
Ruutu is a dick……wouldn’t mind Neil in a Habs jersey tho
I’m becoming a Picard fan
5-0 Sabres over NJ… Seems they used everything they had for us…
Picard made a nice hit on Carkner to start the play – and then he stood up to Neil – nice.
Picard dropped Neil with a big hit …that was great. and he was ready to drop the gloves too
Too many smartass fake shots and feints. Come on guys shoot.
WOW!! One word…SUBBAN!!!!
………………………………………………………………. YES HABS CAN!!
B-B-B-Benny and the Jets!! Wooooooooooooo
Wow. You really stink when Pouliot scores.
POULIOT!!!!!!! Gets some luck coz I prayed for him!
B-B-B- Benny and the Jets.
POU – POU – POULIOT…….. OHH OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
CMON BUGS SING IT……………
POU POU POULIOTTTTTTTTT OHHH OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Pouliot!! finally!! now maybe he can build off that goal and start scoring again.
Benny really needed that.
Unreal…said the same above.
Why doesn’t JM see what nearly everyone else is seeing? Gomez and Eller should trade spots, ON MERIT! What happened to earning your ice time? I guess that only applies to young players.
He was more useful then. They did not, however, win any series because of Lapierre.
I know Saturday games start at 7:00 but have all our weekday games always started at 7:30 or is that new this year? I like when the game starts at 7:00.
Most weekday games at the Bell Centre start at 7:30. Weekday games in American cities tend to start at 7:00.
7pm start times suck when you’ve got to fight traffic to get downtown in time after work.
No – Timo made a joke.
Just follow the trail of fifty dollar bills.
Brendan Gallager, 2 nd in WHL scoring and 1 st in goals. 15 in 14 games. 25 pts
…and the Cherry on top of a great night of hockey, literally – Grapes trying to explain who should have more laffs icetime. PRICELESS!!!
Very happy we didn’t give up on Price. He’s been great this year and deserved the SO tonight. Loved him tossing the puck into the crowd too!
Picard looks solid here…O’Byrnes likely done.
Carey gets a shutout, Pouliot and AK46 score, Habs win, booins, janitors, laffs lose, ahhh great night.
Cherry can’t be seirous thinking that the shot on subban’s ankle was on purpose lmao
“Subban has a big mouth”
Kingston’s Village Idiot.
The only mention of the Habs on Hockey Night in Toronto.
Don Cherry showing IceGirls! Now I’ve seen it all from him…
Did anyone notice Jaques Martin slapping that fan on his way to the dressing room after the game? Granted, he was just slapping the fan’s outstretched hand, in a “gimme-five” type of motion, but still, this kind of interaction with the fans has no part in today’s game.
“Way to be professional!” indeed.
“I pointed that out…”
Like some cranky old alcoholic that no one pays attention to sitting at the end of the bar being ignored by everyone in the world.
My 3 stars : 1. Pouliot 2. Kostitsyn 3. Price
Honourable mentions to Picard and Subban.
Yep. Found a stream
Sorry, I wont try again… Good for you. OK I can’t promise i wont try again, but ill do my best.
Markov back next week, good times ahead.
You have a problem with our Coach HIGH FIVING a fan????
He’ll be gone for at least three.
It wouldn’t surprise me if he had a predjudice bone or two.
Really? Too dry for you?
That is one of the best descriptions of Don Cherry ever.
I’d be surprised if he didn’t. Different generation.
YEP…. I guess I need some ice in my drink. Deliriously happy i guess. Didnt see it. kinda sad I know… SORRY MIKE……
Where did my post disappear? Didn’t think I said anything wrong.
Habs nice win. Price plays in control and in position too.
Neil and Carkner a couple of classy meatheads.
MacLean on why he scratched Kovalchuk tonight: “That’s between him and I . That was my decision.” He made decision midday.
What a joke!
If I were coach John Maclean, the only justification I would ever give for my decisions would be “Yippee Ki-A, Mother f#@%$r.”
That’s better !
Fir the amount of money that they’re paying him, he’ll need to be a 4-way player.
It’s actually a pretty good description of me.
You know, this may not be the year the Leafs win the cup.
I betcha there’s a trade brewing, with Kovalchuck going to Toronto for Finger. NJ want to remake themselves as a less exciting team.
UFC Lesnar fight is $60 on PPV????? Holy Sh#t
HALAK just wont give ANYTHING to Pitts and Crosby……. Making me smile. GO JARO…
Yeah, the Devils are gonna think twice about putting a huge contract on a “superstar” who is useless so far.
Too bad Jaro’s not playing for us anymore.
Carey F. for the Sens.
Yeah, because we didn’t really need Plekanec.
they have a player like kovalchuk and treat him like he’s mike peca..
what a pointless organization
Sweet shutout for Price. Excellent road game. Nice to see AK firing on all cylinders.
Ottawa fans unhappy. Great Saturday night.
Look out, you just invoked the wrath of L.A. Loyalist. lol
But free on the internet…
AND he gets a shut out tonight too… I tried to jinx him. Good for Jaro. Glad they beat the Pens.
NJD wants him to be a two-way player, that’ll work…
Kovalchuk’s a magnificently talented offensive forward but he’s not going to transform for you like Stevie Y did for DET guys, give it up.
INDEED… T.O. losing. VERY HAPPY…….
Oshie looks great…would rather have had him for Halak than Eller.
Jaro with the shut-out as well…good for him, and does us a favour by beating the Pens.
Ottawa looked terrible tonight, someone missed a wide open net on their pp and they screw up 2-1 and 4-2s somehow…only decent players were fischer and alfredsson.
A nice bounceback win for les boyz with no flaws. I have a feeling Cammalleri will break out again soon. He started off with a bit of a drought last season but as an experienced goal scorer he knows how to handle these cold streaks. Good for Benny to get the goal, here’s hoping it sparks another near goal a game scoring streak like when he was first acquired. Gorges is definitely better with those one timers this year. Eller did look more involved when playing center.
For stretches of the game I thought they were playing at the Bell Centre with all the cheering for the habs’ goals.
Carey Price has been very impressive so far this season, in both his wins and his losses!!!! He still exudes a certain youthful naivete, if only that he’s still fresh, however he has this new attitude and demeanor. This non-statistical intangible is the difference maker with the kid and as it is a head thing tied into his maturity process and his learning curve the prognosis is for him getting better still. It’s early to jump the gun and 7 games do not a season make, but 1st impressions are good so far.
I’m glad your jinx didn’t work. I have Jaro in my office hockey pool.
The wrath of LA Loyalist … and anyone who can do math and has an ounce of imagination.
You got there in the end, and that’s all that matters. Nice win, we’re all smiling.
Price and AK46 looking like superstars. It bodes well. Get Markov back and who knows? It’s not the strongest division, they could be in a dogfight with Boston all the way, get lucky and get the third seed. Could do it easily if the GG line can be resuscitated.
In 2-3 years they will be, but 1st, the draft lottery!!!
I DONT CARE IF THIS IS MEAN…..
Jaroslav Halak working on a SHUT OUT in St. Louis….
Not mean, just utterly pointless.
I’ll do you one better.
Price has a shutout!
habs win, price shutout, and leafs lose. this was a great night for hockey!
Wow for the whole team. Special shouts for Pouliot, Kostitsyn, Subban and Price.
Habs just doubled their W count against OTT compared to last season.
It’s like I told ya last week Robert. A lot of teams are gonna pick on the Sens this year.
Last in the league coming up.
Start the fire sale.
I think Kostitsyn probably takes the crown for that one
Thanks for making me laugh. But seriously how about Malkin? Maybe if Ovie got some teeth and shaved, he wouldn’t be so bad?
you might hate ovie, but when malkin runs into the glass, he breaks his nose. chris neil, too
Avon Old Farms: 2007, 2008 & 2010 New England Division I Hockey Champions – #5
JM will be all smiles, that is his wet dream of a game.
I would dare to suggest that a 3-0 shutout victory would be any coach’s–real or armchair–wet dream.
Interesting article indeed. It might be time for the NHL to show some good will to the KHL, and send Youppi over to fill those arenas!
by Bruce Peters
Buh Buh Buh Benny and the Jets!
Great game – what a treat to see some skating and shooting after that yawner vs. Jersey Thursday night.
OK – I have a suggestion which should cause some conflict of opinion.
Hamrlik to Ottawa for Kovalev. They’d love to get rid of him and might eat Hammer’s 5.5 million contract to do it. We’d take back 5 million and have a winger for Gomez and Gio.
Any takers or a complete non-starter?
I wouldn’t do it. In my opinion, depth on D should only be given up for a better forward. In other words, D-men are more valuable than forwards. Remember when we traded Chelios for Savard? Both great players, but Chelios would’ve done a lot more for us than Savard.
This was brought up the other day…and I think it’s a good idea – if Pouliot doesn’t get it together. I hope this goal tonight opens the flood-gates. He needed a confidence boost.
No. They can just have him for free. They don’t have to give us anything back.
I knew I could count on you for the worst post-W idea. Consistency, man. I admire that in a Commenter.
Let’s be serious here.
after seeing kovy play tonight i kinda think the sens can keep him.
The ice in Ottawa must be horrendous. The puck is bouncing like crazy.
Nevermind. Since it officially wasn’t a PPG, I can cut some slack. Just didn’t see your post til after the goal.
Even a blind squirel finds a nut. Way to go Benny. Hard work pays off
Pouliot found his hands, who knew?
Even at that, it was very nearly gloved by Elliott.
Didn’t someone call Benny potting one tonight?
1. Andre 2. Carey 3. PK
Hoe many freakin’ EJ fans on here tonight?
Who you callin’ a hoe?
Just thinkin’ Als could have used some of that expert tackling (Neil.Carkner) Friday against the Ticats.
Only our second pp of the season but I liked the puck movement on that goal. Have we turned the corner…
Wow the ice is horrible tonight.
Sens not making the plyoffs this year…..may even finish behing Leafs.
Pretty sure he just referred to Carkner as “Carkie”
CAREY! CAREY! CAREY!!!
That looked like it went in…..net not bulge??
AK!! Great play by Cammy beforehand.
Cammy and AK46 = poetry in motion.
AK AK AK AK
WOW!!! on FIRE!! AK 46!!
WoOOOAH! AK! GREAT play Cammy!
A blessing this Brother Andrei. A blessing.
A beast. When he wants to be he’s as good or better than anyone else from that draft year. Nice play by Cammi.
THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID!
Andrei the Giant!!!
BROTHER Andrei, actually.
In saw that too — waiting for the replay… it was quick.
Andrei strikes again!
Thought I saw the water bottle go, too, but I backed up my DVR and a Sens stick hit it.
Brother AK will be an inspiration this season!!
yeah i saw that too no replay thoughy so I couldnt get a good look .
OK fine, but if he pots the hat trick, that counts as a miracle in my eyes and he deserves to be elevated.
With NJ making their Kovy a healthy scratch, does that make Ottawa’s Kovy the hardest working Kovy in the league?
Flagrant interference on Gorges by Fisher. Are the refs blind?
WTF Ficher, and right in front of the ref.
HORRIBLE non-interference call on Fisher. Gorges didn’t see it coming.
What a dirty play. Fisher deserves a puck in the face.
will Sens try to goon this??
Now just need to get out of Ottawa without any injuries!
Looked like Carey’s jersey fluttered on his left arm right after that too.
Who stands up for Gorges, no one, Don’t like that at all
Thanks for that, makes sense now.
Hilarious. Post of the day.
Head explodes to release a dozen flying monkeys.
Really… shades of Heimi from Get Smart.
Actually, it’s Hymie.
You, “missed it by thaaaat much”.
Aaaaaaah!!!! That explains it.
Maybe most of us “get” it, but just don’t find it funny?
Go into a bookstore. Pick up a book called something like “1001 Hilarious Jokes for Kids.” Read it. You’ll “get” what it’s trying to do. It’s trying to be “hilarious.” It’s probably not succeeding.
I just don’t take it so seriously Mike. I don’t like it when anyone goes off the rails as Timo and others have done in the past. Timo rants and flings negative comments with his own touch of sarcastic humour, usually, and that I don’t mind. To each his own.
we cannot just wait for markov to get back….people forget that when he came back last year he was hot for a while but than he hit the wall and had 2-3 weeks of very average play which included bad passing mistakes and some very poor pinching decisions .. we really have improved the 5-5 scoring so far but because of the terrible pp we are tied for 23rd most goals scored…still way too many forwards on the team that score a goal evey 10 games…
On paper this should be an easy week rather than an F. week. The Senators’ defence and their goaltendiung are vulnerable, the Coyotes are without Shane Doan, the Islanders are supposed to be a weak team weakened by the loss of two of their key players (but they keep winning), the Panthers are rebuilding… But we have no powerplay and our second line is struggling. We need the points because the standings are tight and it looks as though it’ll go down to the wire this season like last.
For my money Boston is the best team in the conference. I’ve watched the Caps and am not impressed. They rely too much on individual talent and don’t play well as a team. Haven’t watched Philly, but they’re not winning; maybe their goaltending situation is catching up to them. As for Jersey, even though they shut us out, they looked pretty terrible doing it.
We have to find a way to stay with the pack until Markov gets back. If his return doesn’t ignite the powerplay, we’ll have to do something about it, like sign Bergeron. I know he’s a defensive liability, but we’ll be fighting for one of the last couple of playoff spots, and with no powerplay to speak of, we don’t stand a chance.
Jane – Settle down! We are NOT going to sign Bergeron. That would be a white flag for sure.
Let’s give Markov and Subban some time to see what they can do. If you sign Bergeron, it will mean two things. Either Picard or O’Byrne (maybe both) are gone and we will have no chance of having any size on our D. Do we really want to lose another young player based on a temporary, stop-gap measure?
Even if the Habs did contemplate that move, I would suggest that we bring up Weber instead of signing Bergeron.
It’s way too soon to talk about Bergeron returning. First of all, Markov hasn’t played yet and he’s an elite offensive d-man; his return should have a much bigger impact than adding Bergeron. And I don’t want Subban on the second wave, he has too much skills for that.
Bergeron is injured – recovering from surgery. Even if he were a good fit, how is a guy due to return to the ice by mid november supposed to replace Markov, due back much sooner?
I’ve read that MAB could be fit to play by around November 20.
Not MAB – not ever. Picard has shown more defensive ability in 5 games than MAB showed in his entire career. Then there’s Weber – 5 goals(?) in the AHL already. Even if Markov was going to be out for a long time, we have other d-men who can fill in far better than MAB.
Steve, do you really think Weber could help? He hasn’t looked so far as though he could, but he had a better camp this year, and he’s playing well in Hamilton. What if we signed Bergeron and used him sparingly on the 4th line and not at all on defence. I like our defence the way it is.
Jane – Right now we have a 23 man roster (including Markov). Let’s say we sign Bergeron. First off, he’s only getting offered the league minimum, or $600000 tops. Beggers can’t be choosers. That means that Darche, Picard or O’Byrne hits the road. Darche could go to Hamilton and probably clear waivers. No loss there. Picard is on a two-way but would probably be picked up by another team. O’Byrne would have to be traded as he can’t go to Hamilton for fear we would lose him. Let’s say that we then play Bergeron as a 4th liner so we can use him on the PP. That means we have to put Pyatt or Boyd up in the press box. Do we really want to do that? Not to mention that our 4th line becomes useless (just like last year). Signing Bergeron may solve a problem but it will also create another one (I refer to this as the Mark Streit factor). It also relates back to the fact that Spacek was going to be our Plan B on the PP and he has totally failed in that regard (he will be public enemy #1 in Montreal next year, mark my words) Weber? It’s really hard to say. On my dark days, I honestly feel that outside of Subban none of our young Dmen will ever become regular Habs (Tinordi’s not even on the radar yet). I think we have to tough it out until Markov returns.
Excuse me for cutting in here…..but, J. Martin does not know how to use MAB sparingly. It’s mind-boggling to me when people still look to MAB as any kind of solution. Too many nights screaming at the TV for me when we had Bergeron in the lineup. I can’t go through that again.
via Apron Basu’s twitter: Yannick Weber scores AGAIN, his 5th goal in 5 GP this season.
TB – I strongly agree.
Oh boy, time for another “floater” comment here Clay. But this one would reside in a porcelain bowl.
Yeah, I know Kovy has been truly awful for the Sens. And only showed up for half of the games when he played for the Habs. But he loved playing here, and would likely be motivated to come back. but in retrospect…I don’t think I’d do it…unlessthey threw in their first round draft choice.
But like said, I’d rather see Pouliot get it together.
Meaning he’ll get 3 minutes of ice time? Not good.
I’m gonna bet that this one is gonna take on a very chippy complexion.
Matt Carkner. What a useless hump. Thanks for turning the game around in Montreal’s favour.
Bryan Murray really needs to quit.
It’s always a good day when you learn something new. Today I learned you don’t need testicles to have a groin injury. Case in point – Spezza
Sens are dirty hackers & sore losers.
Ottawa’s head hunting now. You SUCK coach Doogie Howser!
Pleks on the point for the PP?
“If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.” (anon)
This is as physical a game as I’ve seen in a while. Gotta give it up for Ottawa – they aren’t rolling over.
Someone needs to remind Dean Brown that CBC is supposed to be a national telecast, not a Senators’ regional telecast on Sportsnet.
He was so fast to let Alfredson off the hook for shooting high and wide, puck was rolling, what a douche
I am so impressed with Carey Price. He’s got great composure this season, but all that in the face of major adversity, his rise and fall and the Halak effect, and yet he’s battling through it all. It’s pretty awesome to see as a Habs fan. I hope it continues.
So is this the year AKost scores 40 goals? 50!??!??!?!?!
Comeback year for the whipping boys in MTL, I love it.
A rakish response Clay.
1P Break: Senators don’t have a shot. Which means the first one will go in, right?
…If it happends again….
I once asked the local barber if he could give me a Kerry Fraser “do.” He asked me if I had a week off from work!
PRICE?????????? WHat are you doing??? Is that O’Byrne inb Price’s Jersey????
The Sens are gonna suck until they sign Maximus!
Frankie The Hands Gagnon tweets: … (4 minutes ago) —– Jason Spezza, blessé à l’aine, représente un cas douteux en vue du match de ce soir. Zack Smith a été rappelé de Bighampton…
Bruce Rumours Garrioch tweetBrian Elliott starts. Zack Smith has been recalled. Don’t expect Jason Spezza back from his groin injury. 2 minutes ago via web s:
Price just trying to get that first save. NO PROBLEM…
Daniel F. has 1000pts in 1009 games. And he has 101pts in 76 games against the Habs….that is INSANE!
Hey BOONE last time you said that EXACT sentence against this EXACT same team they scored on the first shot!
Devils say Ilya Kovalchuk is a healthy scratch. WOW!
If our D could hit the net once…
HOW NICE WAS THAT?????? LISTEN TO OUR FANS BABY….
AK with space. What a beautiful thing.
Wow and it is loud in that builing!
Another blessing from Brother Andrei.
AK, love that release.
AK46 what a shot! 1-0!
A goal…AND a Senator limping off the ice.
Trade ? hahahaha
Brother Andrei. You’re both a saint and a beast and I like it.
AK has such a great shot.
That was an interesting attempt by Laps.
Hey Tom Nickle, Thats why AK 46 should shoot the puck, What a release
GOD I HATE THE SENS……….. TRICKY BUNCH. TRYING TO LOWER PRICE’S SAVE PERCENTAGE… NOT COOL MAN…
I would have been happy getting a bucket of pucks in exchange for SK74, instead we got Boyd and AK46!
At least he didn’t give up on it after he turned it over
I think that’s where my Grandma used to keep the jam – top shelf! AK46 has so much talent – imagine if he played like this all the time.
That looked like a kick and a half.
This isn’t soccer
Kicked in. No goal.
Definitely kicked in.
NO WAY that’s a goal
This should be a quick review
I play soccer and I couldn’t kick like that.
Why would you even try that? There are 50 cameras looking at that spot.
Was that Eller that just buried someone by the boards? Huge hit
On countrymen Peter Regin no less!
This ain’t soccer, no goal for you Sens.
Kostitsyn … it’s so frustrating. Where does this guys disappear to?? He’s a beaut when he wants to be.
No goal. To wild applause!!!!!!!!
Nervous Ref. Didn’t know what to say. Had the PRICE deer in headlights look there…
Used his skate twice – once to kick it out of Price’s glove and once to kick it in the net.
Does this count as a home game? I can’t believe how loud our fans are.
Subban takes a shot to the back of the leg(stupidly) and I can see all of the air leave Jacques Martin’s longues and him mouth f me quietly on the bench thinking Subban is hurt.
‘s’okay boys, just a flesh wound!
Man that woulda hurt
Didn’t hear Spatch name whole game. Must be a good thing. Quiet and effective tonight. Best game of the season by far!
Captain Kirk gets a cheer.
And Lappy draws a penalty.
Could it be the first PP goal in ages? Note: Pou’s goal was at even strength.
SHUT DOWN!! GORGES!
Gomez too cute on the PP and Gorges saves his bacon.
Ummm…..Gorges shouldn’t have been alone. Might wanna call somebody else out on that play.
I’ll give you a hint as to who it was, rhymes with Lowman and Spamrlik.
Time for “The Special Corner” with your Friend Don Cherry, who kinda reminds you of little Timmy down the street who got hit in the head by a brick.
And Moores sponsor Don Cherry’s Coach’s Corner. They have serious problem in their marketing department. LOL@Mike Zigomanis.
Jeez Cherry. You make too much of that guy trying to build a cohesive thought in his punch addled head.
