A shutout for Carey “Jaro Halak” Price.
Two goals for Brian Gionta.
Two assists for Scott Gomez.
Brilliant game plan, executed to perfection.
For 1 1/2 periods I’m thinking, “Almost as good as Gio’s opening goal was that Richard-Head Marchand wasting an open net.”
Play of the game has to be Gomez stripping Lucy of the puck for the insurance goal?
That’ll get my vote.
Stripping Lucy the Teabagger, eh Chuck?
(Not sure I get it! But I like it anyway! Have one for Marchand?)
not to get ahead of ourselves but i believe most of these games will be one goal games or tied late in the third and with a few breaks you can win the series in 4-5 games…that would be huge to get rest….
huge win…good news we won did not score on the pp and that will change…i had to pvr the last 4 minutes…waited about 10 minutes and sneakily checked the scoreboard on centre ice and saw there was a final beside the game so i knew they won..
Buf just won 1-0 against Philthydelphia
It would NOT surprise me to see Buffalo win that series 4-1.
Buf wins that series, Caps take out the Sathers, and the Habs will face the winner of the Pens/Bolts matchup.
Which would be a good thing.
Cause, you know, BroonzMeltdown™ 2011 ‘n’ all that.
That would be a great thing.
Sabres take game 1.
Pow! I love it. Now there’s doubt in Beantown.
I love that last video clip Boone! Terrific. Chara was awful with the puck and classless at the end of the game with that assault on Plekanec. And Thomas showed once again why he’s the most overrated goalie in the league. He’s lucky we didn’t score 5 or 6 with the number of open nets he gave up.
a picture of chara may change creationist views vs evolution lol
Lots of guys had great games. Obviously Price, Pleks (who could have had 3), Gio, and (HURRAY!) Gomez. But did anyone else think Travis Moen had a great one, too? Not spectacular, but always a thorn in the side of the Bruins.
What’s up with Lucic?
And Chara sitting on Plecs! That’s an NHL captain?
“What’s up with Lucic?”
He’s a teabagger.
Long live The System
“I savour it every day, sometimes before practice I’m skating around and I’ll look at the logo on my jersey – I’m playing for the Canadiens!”

Boston has no lost 5 games in a row. Hopefully after next game, I can say “make it 7.”
C’mon Booner, Price ain’t no “Jaro Halak”, he’s more than a FLASH in the Pan
“My second favourite team is whoever plays the Leafs”
The team played really well tonight….the 2nd was a little hard to watch but PRICE owned it !!
Kaberle was horrible for them …he’s never seen this playoff stuff …right confused… 😛
HEY BRUINS – WHO’S YOUR DADDY?
Win game one and Cherry something nice to say about PK what is going on i love it
Great team effort backed up by stellar goaltending. Habs could have had 5 or 6 with this style of play. Bruins really started to be frustrated at the end of the 2nd period.
Way to block those pucks and protect Price.
Looked an awful lot like last year at this time….
OK, it’s hokie (not hockey), but it’s funk, baby. An old party tune to express my joy at this victory. EW&F Serpentine Fire:
Anyone who says Chara is a clean player never watched this over-sized thug. First he purposely throw his elbow at Plekanec then starts punching Plekanec while the Hab who is about 80 pounds lighter in weight, while he is prone on the ice.
BTW- He purposely tried to hurt Pacioretty too!
One game does not a series make, but if they continue to play like this and constantly frustrate the gooins (getting in their heads) then we can win this series against these Mother F***ers! GO HABS GO!!!
Well, a victory beer is always so smooth. Pass me another.
And now on to game 2
Never in doubt.
We’ve just witnessed the first chapter of the BroonzMeltdown™ 2011.
Z still doesn’t know what hit him.
And Price, as expected, was epic.
Exactly the start I looked for from the Habs. No quarter. No prisoners. (and no goals by the Bruins was a big help)
And Buffalo shuts out the Bobby Clobbers…just…now.
Yeah, Price playin’ epic, Chara comin’ unglued, and an unforeseen bonus with Lucy nowhere to be seen unless it’s a lost battle / coughed up puck.
And some of the more expensive guys showed up to play.
Redouble the effort Saturday, cause Claude is smellin’ a pink slip comin’ round the mountain and will have the boyz ready to play.
Yep, Julie will have them pumped. But I have no doubt the Habs will be ready for it. I mean, it’s to be expected.
Yeah, but aren’t we supposed to expect the unexpected?
Time-space continuumy enough for you?
Who is this “Jaro Halak” of whom Boone speaks?
Big time pressure on the Bruins now. The Habs can play like that again for game #2 we have a chance to possibly come home up 2 -0 in games. Gotta love that.
To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high.
That is some quality trolling, Boone!
Carey Price is All Hart! http://on.fb.me/CP31Hart
Go Habs Go!

Thank Brian Burke for this win.
1- Takes the Bruins ONLY scorer from them – Kessel.
2- Lays Tyler Seguin the healthy scratch on Boston.
3- Lays Kaberle on the Bruins and he is responsible for the game winning first goal.
So what you’re saying is the Canadiens had nothing to do with the win?
It would make sense if the player Burke got was good enough to help them get to the playoffs….. But since he isnt, I dont know if we can thank him… Ill thank Gainey and PG…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Kessel will get them to the playoffs next year. And he got back his 2nd #1.
He got back the Bruins’ number one, not the Leafs’ number one.
You need to calm down your Burke-boner.
It’s been over four hours so the damage has already been done.
AMAZING! Now WIN Saturday and put them in SHOCK!
hABS deserve this WIN! Way to GO !
No big celeb yet.. we need Saturday’s game.
I wish you told me this before I began rioting!
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Gomez sure was awesome tonight, almost everyone was, but I thought he really stood out.
There are some who will find fault. Just as there were some who criticized JM in the first and second period on here for playing a tight, defensive game.
Well, count me in among those who can’t swallow what Boone refers to as a “brilliant game plan, executed to perfection.” Hahaha. The Habs should have been down by two at least after the second.
They played a great third, though, and scored when they could. Price was outstanding, as were Gomez, Pleks, Gionta, AK, Subban, Gill, Sopel, and Hammer.
Full Breezer 4 Life
Disagree Bill. Maybe it wasn’t quite “perfection” but it was an excellent game. Boston is a good team and no team in the league is going to completely shut these guys down. They’re going to get chances.
For all those shots in the 2nd period, Boston only outchances Montreal 8-6 that period.
Sorry Bill, I realized after I said it that you were one of the ones I was referring to. But I disagree with you on this point. After going through the roller coaster ride last spring that so many attributed to a magic goalie I was sure there was more to that magic carpet ride. This game kind of sealed it for me. JM’s so-called system has wheels.
Should they have been down by 2 or 3? Yep, no question, just like against the Caps and Pens last year. But they weren’t so what’s the reason? Another magic goalie? Or is it the system that forces plays and shots to the outside, blocks shots before they reach the net and creates brief outbursts of furious offensive opportunities?
Tonight wasn’t simply about one single player, as you well note.Team effort all around.
Gomez hustled his ass off all night.
Chara came out of the closet tonight
Gomez and Gionta, wow, shake and bake. Pleks was great. What the heck they were all great. Nite folks.
Credit where credit is due: Gomez earned his salary tonight and then some. He was simply awesome.
All of my Bruins fan Rugby teammates have gone quiet, wonder why?
Vezina trophy my ass is right!!! He’s a flopper and the boys will pick him apart!!
I don’t care if Gomer doesn’t get a goal all playoffs, as long as he keeps playing and setting guys up like that. He played a great game.
Chara sucks, plain and simple.
Great game by Gomez! Awesome effort all around!
What no Bruins fans in here tonight to rub our faces. LOL
Gomez, played his best game of the season. Pleks is a warrior. Give AK46 props for sucking it up after blocking that shot.
Gionta, Bruin slayer.
To you from failing hands we throw the torch, be yours to hold it high.
Great game Patrick, I mean Carey…..wink, wink!!
Unreal! An absolutely fantastic win. If nothing else this win is to give the confidence back that they can do it against the bruins.
However… however… I don’t think Bruins played their best hockey. They got sucked into Mtl’s game and paid for it. I guarantee they will try as hard as possible not to play the Habs game on Saturday. Saturday will be so so so much tougher.
That being said, tonight I rejoice and say “FU, Bruins” and along with my 2 year old I shout “GO HABS GO!!!!”
Timo, is that really you?
You are 100% correct. Awesome win. So, did Gomez make the plays or what?
All we reallistically wanted was a split in Boston to gain home ice advantage and we are guaranteed that now. To win Saturday too would be gravy , but I’m elated about tonight.
Awesome……. Lets make it 25 – 8 out of 33 series
Hey Fig Newton, kiss my A$$!!!
I’ve dipped into the 12 year old single malt Bowmore for the occasion. Sweet!
Kilkenny for me. Best beer on earth.
Stella and Keiths for me.
Not quite as good, but I got some 12yo Glenfiddich, no ice.
What an execellent match; on the edge of my seat the whole time. Price and Gionta – Winner/Gagnants!!
Being in TO, I just signed up to RDS and watched the game by people that love to announce the habs. No Cole; no “shutout” with minutes to go; best $7/month I ever spent!!!!
Julien is proving himself to be a guy with a lot of class – all of it third. His goons were out to finish the game – wonder if Corrupt Daddy Colon will e-mail about it?
Shout it out! Shut out Price!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Fearless prediction: No drunken broon trolls tonight!
I am not an animal, I just reproduce that way.
Hahahahaha CMON BOYS! Take another in boston and really put the pressure on!
Chara is a jerk. That confirms it. I almost bought that he apologized to Pacioretty and felt bad about it. Wrong. He’s a schmo. An overgrown weasel.
I agree he is a meany mcmeanster
I know right?
Book it baby!!! I aced my final exam today and the Habs aced this game!! WooHoo!
There’s the game we needed to steal in their barn! Don’t lose at the Bell Center and we move on to round 2.
One was enough
This was the best game they could have played. Complete shutdown, shutout and despite the first 10 minute storm we put them in their places.
Great game. Great scouting.
yayayayyaayayyayaya I love price. he is my boyfriend forever
Get ouuuuut boston!!!!
So where are all the idiots saying Price sucks in the playoffs?
Carey Price sucks…the life out of the bruins.
Welcome to the newer NHL: The National Head-shots League.
Sorry, ManApart isn’t available right now. He’s crawled down his troll hole.
Thank you Price and Habs!! Congrats everyone!!!!!!!!
ALL the pressure on the B’s next game, can’t wait
How did Hammer miss that open net?
Hey Figgy….your team is shitty.
Bob Cole: “A lot of the seats VACATED!”
Wow. Wow wow wow.
Price. price price price.
WE OWN THESE BEEEEAAAAACHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
15 more wins to go.
As usual, Lurch is a macho man against someone 1/4 his size.
Cole is too much!!!!
All we need now is a PK goal to rub their noses in it.
D-men, play this tight.
A little frustrated Chara?
