yup, gomez played a good game…hopefully he can give us more in games ahead. JM favours the dude, and consequently plays him for his play making at key times…trouble is this team has a glut of these type of role players. Tonight he had hustle, used the boards more – the puck was there for him. Prior to this game, Gomez seemed to play, from my perspective – a floater. The puck usually didn’t bounce his way…regularly was out hustled and foiled in rushes to through the opponent’s blueline. Lets hope he continues to demonstrate his talents to the league. We can always use a game winning goal or two…hopefully in time, some team in the western conference could realize that they could use a role player like gomez in their lineup. I can only dream. Meantime, Boston is next. Can hardly wait. The CFL western final in between then and now…and being a westcoaster – ROAR YOU BC LIONS, ROAR.

A game like that sure makes it tough for me to complain about Gomez, or JM using Pleks on the point on the PP.
I still don’t like keeping Gomez around, but I was pleased with his results tonight. I don’t think his game was much different, but the results were there.
I also still don’t think Pleks is scaring anyone with his point shot, but he got the job done. How many shots did Weber and Diaz whiff on tonight???

If there is a God and he’s a Habs fan (sure to be) he will restore the magic Gomez and Gionta had in Jersey. Only good thing to come out of the rangers Broadcasting crew was to mention how good the two played together.

That game was one for all the JM and Gomez bashers to chew on. I guess the way JM coaches sucks so bad that the team shuts out the hottest team in the league and allows only 15 shots. 2 points for the HATED1™ along with a lot of good chances generated.

I’d be more circumspect if I were you.
Gomez has 42 regular-season points (and is -17) since the start of the 2010-11 regular season.
I am glad he played a good game, but I refuse to praise him until he demonstrates he can contribute at the NHL level.
He’s still on track for fifty games without a goal. Come on Scott, I know you can do it!
