I was relieved to see Spacek was sitting. Now I am all tense again.
He has been absolutely horrible so far. You’ll recall that I was similarly raggin’ on PK for his suckitude but he has completely turned things around, and is back to being a major asset. But Spacek hasn’t elevated his game at all- if anything, he has gotten sloppier. I am a bit afeared of tonight. Meanwhile, two perfectly respectable Dmen sit. I am with Stu on this one: in a true meritocracy, Eller gets second line minutes, Spacek sits.
Of course, I didn’t coach the Habs through a miracle playoff run last year, and to first place after 12.5% of this season. So what do I know.
Always depressing how much damage a little fear campaigning and negative advertising can do. Well not ‘little’ really since the 2010 Midterms are breaking spending records, all the while the country’s dealing with a recession.
There’s logic for you, throw billions down a hole of bile and anger while people are getting tossed out of their houses and can’t afford to eat.
Think of it as an opportunity to learn French That’s what I always used to tell my students (well they were Korean and trying to learn English and I’d actually tell them to watch sitcoms, not hockey…but you get my drift)
All the best…and although Obama will probably take it on the chin today, let’s hope that it is not as bad as the polls indicate. But then again, when the only goal of the other side is to make him a one-termer, it does not take much other than rhetoric and hyperbole, there is no need to do anything else – like govern the people.
Hey…”what will November bring?”…What it won’t bring is those 24 habs games now on TSN 2, 3 or whatever. I have Shaw Direct and Centre Ice and just bought the latter to get more Habs games in English. What a rip-off!!!
I also pay extra for RDS, even though i can’t speak a word of French and don’t have a clue what they are saying in the post-game show. I try to guess, but alas had thought with Centre Ice, I would be able to stop trying to play the game “sounds..like”.
Very interesting, Derick Brassard in Hot Water cuz of radio interview with CKAC.
from Puck- Rakers
Brassard: “I Want To Apologize”.
Brassard apologized profusely this morning. He could have chosen his words more carefully, Brassard agreed. But he also said the radio station misconstrued his words and inaccurately portrayed his comments when they posted them on their Web page.
Mathman’s name inspired me to check out a gambling probability site. At a 2.3% shooting percentage, Gionta is less likely to score than you are to pick a winning number at the roulette table (1/37=2.7%).
Gionta is relentless so I can’t imagine this continuing much longer. Gomez just needs to send a floater around belt high to get him going, the captain’s sweet spot.
Hope I’m still mobile by game time. It’s my 60th today and I have started celebrating a bit early. Me and the dog are just hanging out – I’m having a few shots of Grand Marnier and she’s having Lake Superior’s finest to wash down the MilkBones. I gotta believe that my man Obama will take it on the chin today in the US elections. So – a solid thrashing of the Blue Jackets by Les Boys will salvage some of the evening.
I’d like to see Gomez and Gionta carry us for a period or two – sometimes a fluky goal is all that’s needed to open the floodgates.
Feeling a bit under the weather (flu I think) tonight, but hey, it’s the Habs. Gotta suck it up and watch the greatest hockey team in the world get the two points
Somethng has been bugging me all afternoon. 24 Cups posted here that Gionta and Gomez were players that had an average per season point production of 2nd liners.
I have to disagree with Gomez. The reason why I disagree is there are 4 types of teams in this league. High scoring teams like Washington Capitals who have 3-4 players over 60 points each season. Low scoring defensive teams like New Jersey that have their top players under 80 points. There are defensive and offensively balanced teams like Boffalo who have 3-4 players with 60 some odd points and their top 4 are very close in total ponts. Then there are crappy teams who end up in the bottom of the league, where one or two players have all the production.
Saying Gomez is a player who has had 2nd line production his whole career is saying a team like New Jersey doesn’t have a top line. I say this because Gomez has been 2nd in scoring 7 times, 1st once, 3rd once and 4th once. He has played with players such as Jagr, Elias, Nieuwendyk, Parise, Langenbrunner, Naslund, and Shanahan.
You would have to say then a team that won the Stanley Cup twice, didn’t have any first line players on it.
I would agree that Scott Gomez is not an ELITE player. However, I think people expect the Habs to have 3-4 ELITE players on their team. We haven’t done that in years. I think people dont realize that there are only about 30 player each year that have over 60 points. Now this is alot of players, it really means there is 1 per team on average.
Gomez has been an ELITE passer his whole career, he is usually 10th to 20th in the league, and had spent most of his career on teams that do not score alot of goals.
I don’t really have a point here, but it is some thing that has bugged me all afternoon. I think the problem here is we expect our team to have a few ELITE players and STILL manage to keep a well balanced team that has many many of the leagues better players. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE….
Fellow HIO people, I am donating my face for the month of November for the Movember campaign in an effort to raise money for Prostate Cancer Canada. I encourage the men on here to participate by growing a stache for the month and spreading awareness for the cause. Hey Boone, any chance you can ask some of the players to participate, this is the man’s version of the ribbons for cancer. Go Habs Go!
Obama has reduced the deficit. The Dow is up 40% since he took office. The adults are in charge now. Conservatives like Mulroney (tripled the Canadian debt) and Reagan (quadrupled the US debt) advertise themselves as fiscally responsible but it takes Liberals like Clinton and Paul Martin to put the economy in order.
I took conversational French in university 40 years ago – and then I took two more courses in 2008-09. I understand the announcers very well, but the players and a few of the guys on Antichambre are difficult – particularly if they’re from Montreal.

RE: Summit raffle
Ian, the Canadiens will give me, to give to the
raffle, a baseball cap autographed by Brian Gionta. And my wife is
donating a never-been-worn centennial-season CH-logo’d scarf.
It’s true. I can’t speak french either, but after watching RDS for 3 or so years constantly, instead of hearing “bla bla blaaa, bla bla bla blablaah,” I hear “bla bla bla, played a great game tonight, bla bla bla worked very hard, bla bla bla, can’t hit the net, bla bla.” I suppose that’s progress.
Because the Health Care industry in the US has done such a bang-up job to this point of looking after people’s health? Leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the US is health care costs. Republicans run on the pretext that government is inefficient and can’t get things done, so why do they say ‘trust us’ when it comes to national security and runaway defence spending?
The best part of that story is the fact that Ari Gold…err I mean Alan Walsh didn’t want to talk about it…LMAO.
What’s wrong Al? It’s okay to cause shit for the Habs with your tweets, but when one of your clients gets sucked in by the Montreal media, you can’t defend him or stand up for him.
Not for me. I’m looking forward to the Americans putting the adults back in charge and, as P.J. O’Rourke put it, effectively issue a restraining order against Obama’s shovelling multi-trillion dollars into their toilet, and his trillion-dollar nationalisation of two-thirds of their major auto industry and the healthh care industry.
In a word, it seems hopeful that the American public votes to reject the Fabian love of and trust in Government.
Exactly! Although +- isn’t always the best indicator- I am a huge fan or Gorges, who last I checked was at -2. It has a lot to do with the kinds of situations these guys are used in, I guess. I think I am mostly going on what I am seeing during the games- a lot of missed coverage, and unbelievably lazy passes across the ice from his own corner, like in my avatar (which needs updating), and horrible laziness in battles along the board. We need him to play better.
need to split up G & G …. Gomez is making poor decisions …not hustling after the puck ..does not follow the play into the defensive zone ….just stands around ..did I forget to mention coughing up the puck ..and the poor pass back to our defensemen when we were in our zone on the PK… he needs a kick in the arse !!!!
Gotta love the house announcer in Columbus with his monster truck show delivery ‘n’ the cannon shots ‘n’ all that shiznat, performin’ for a crowd about as boisterous as the dais at a funeral.
An important announcement from the Government of Canada:
Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.
#1 reason I bought a ticket to see the Devils at the ACC on November 18th was for Parise…..second favourite player in the league, my fantasy superstar for the last 3 years…..*sigh*
If Cammalleri had blown that by Ryan Miller, that would have been called a perfect snipe. Halak’s puckhandling was on and off all season, negated his own SO against the NYI by giving away a goal when the Habs were on the PP last season.
HOrrible Period, I’m done watching , what happens, happens….. Worst period of the season so far… LoL at the D trying to take a slapshot when right in front of the net to get the puck out of the zone only to get pickpocketed and take a shot on Price.
I love how much the atmosphere changes around here when we aren’t playing so hot. Last week it was all fun and jokes here and now it’s so gloomy. Not that I’m above it I am feeling pretty deflated by this opening period but I’m just observing this funny HIO trend.
They are flatter than day old pop left on the counter…not a good period but the goals weren’t Price’s fault, a breakdown in defence..and Spacek missed a wide open net
Team is playing like Betty White out there. I love Gio but he needs to pick it up, That whole line is suckin. Spatcho should be in the Box and Gill, well, he needs to play smarter. He has plenty of cache left from last post season, but Damn, know who is on the ice
To be fair to Gomez, if Gionta had been able to cash in a few more of his 44 shots they would both have alot more points. If Gionta doesnt score, Gomez doesnt get any assists.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
The punkster is properly pissed at this poopy performance. I’m going for a long walk. They better tie this puppy up before I come back or, ohhhh, I don’t know what.
Two players stood there at their blue line then ran into the play to try to finish their checks when the puck was well beyond them and the other team went up the ice easily.
What would be nice if players stopped getting new line mates every single shift so they’d know WHERE TO BE and know who they are playing with!!!
Our forward can’t score tonight, BUT OUR DEFENSE IS WHAT HAS LOST US THIS GAME.
LETS THE DOOMSDAYERS START THEIR RANTING ABOUT HOW TERRIBLE THE MONTREAL CANADIENS ARE AND HOW EVERYONE IN MANAGEMENT SHOULD BE FIRED AND EVERY TEAM IN THE NHL WILL WIN A CUP BEFORE THE HABS…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Brilliant move, let’s put the weight of the D on the rookie’s back. I mean we’ve always done well assigning far too much responsibility to rookie players in the last 10 years.
That just proves how baseless your argument is, you’re taking a 2-game sample against his past 5 years with the team as proof of his abilities. Come back with a real argument.
Price played some of his best games in November last season, team couldn’t score to win them of course, I really don’t want to see that trend repeated.
Will the rest of the team show up in the 3rd and stop feather dusting at Garon, or is Price going to have to cross the red line to get something done in this game…?
without trying to raise the smurf issue again, I really think a big part of the rebound opportunities has to do with having big enough forwards to press their way in to find them
Stuck at a hotel in DC with a slow internet connection so I have watch the game on my iphone. From the little I can see on my tiny screen, the Habs cannot finish. No second (rebound) shots, no deflections or screens. We are making opposing goalies look better than they are. Frustrating to watch. We must score on this PP to start the third period if we are to come back in this game.
if you think it’s markov’s fault the team hasn’t won the since being put back in the line up, you need to be quiet – adults are having a grown-up conversation.
Difficult to see the logic of criticising Markov because the forwards cannot (unwilling to?) finish.

Should have said something earlier, you could have watched it at my house. But your not missing anything anyways. Go out to Dupont Circle and have a few drinks… Just tell everyone your a Democrat in that area… Youll be fine…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
The team can win if it skates, they didn’t and they lost.
Markov will be fine if we wait more than 2 games for him to be All-Star quality. He won’t be a saviour but he’ll be a solid player and mentor Subban, who could use some tips about trying his wrist shot and not broadcasting to people with cataracts that he’s about to shoot.
1P 1:30: Why does P.K. always need the big wind-up?
It may not be fair to single out P.K. for that sin. I’ve been thinking that a whole lot more might be accomplished if someone other than AK46 would use a wrist shot. His looks scary hard, but few other players seem to think of it more than once in a while.
this’ll be a good test to their character tonight. Coming off a tiresome loss on saturday, a rebound win tonight will display the resilience that we hope they have. Should be a good one. Cammy pots a couple tonight, gio 1. Final 5 to 2 HABS
Gionta being captain is not the problem. He’s a great choice – he’s just snake bitten. He’s as PO’d about it as any of you, I am sure. To the second point, the only thing worse than an underperforming 7.4 million dollar player named Gomez, is a benched 7.4 million dollar player named Gomez. Benching Gomez isn’t going to get him more more points any more than stripping Gionta of his captaincy, ice time, or favourite knickers is going to result in him scoring more goals.
Gomez has to get going. I think we need a talented power forward who likes to stand in the slot and shoot. Gionta is talented, and likes to shoot, but has a hard time establish net presence due to his size. He’s a perimeter guy, same as Gomez – maybe it’s best we split them up. Some will point out that it wouldn’t be smart to break up the Pleks – AK – Cammy combo, but I think we have to try something new at this point.
I know Nash is a big guy but we were really boxed out tonight…we’re they that much bigger and stronger that the Hab forwards were shut down ? Could the perimeter have been all that was available ! Was size the issue?
The Earth is flat and we never went to the moon! JFK was shot by J. Edgar Hoover wearing a dress; he was paid off by Area 51 Martians. Gomez is a fembot and Markov is KGB.
based on potential young talent in the system and on the team this team should be very good in 3 years…the goal scoring issues that so many of our forwards had last year have not really changed that much…metro,moore,sk74 for halpern, boyd, eller may be an overall upgrade but does very little for goal scoring upgrade…we have still many of the same type of forwards with lsomee variations in ability and play style but all have the common trait of very little scoring ability…..again the key is to make the playoffs …it really makes no difference what position we finish…we probably have no easier time playing a team like columbus in the playoffs vs the capitals…
I’m switching to Glee even though it’s a re-run. Not the Habs’ night. I thought Price showed all sorts of game, but no danger from the forwards and lots of bad decisions by the D. This is one of those games Pat Roy would have reamed the whole team out for.
I’m getting really sick of Gomez this year, he’s either too casual or impatient. He had Gionta open and instead he just rifles a pass right by him that Gio had no chance in controlling. No balance in his game whatsoever.
Gomez is absolutely useless. And, for the first time I’ve seen this year, Carey slid on his knees until he was completely out of the net. He probably wouldn’t have saved it anyway – basically a two-on-none.
Am I the only one watching a still picture of Antoine Vermette on the RDS FEED??? I got the volume, but no video………… AWESOME. So happy im paying $45 a month for this
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Seriously, as the RDS guys said, you cant win consistently with 1 line, you need 2, its just how it is. And people on here have been saying theyve been playing well but they havent, they hardly do anything right now
Pouliot’s bonehead penalty is going to keep him on the 3rd and maybe 4th line for a long time. Discipline! it just has to be there, and he just seems not to give a damb.
Spacek and Gomez need to start paying attention to where they’re passing. Spacek keeps passing to people going off on line changes, and Gomez seems to pass to whoever DOESN’T have their stick down.
First off it’s only the 1st period …2nd it’s better to know your shortcomming early in the season and make the moves ya gots to make ….. Looking at big Nash I’d say wow we need him!
WORST NIGHT IN A LONG TIME. RDS feed in frozen on Center ice, so I cant watch the game. (other than streaming online). Cant stand seeing every idiot around blaming our 2-0 deficit on Gomez right now. And we are playing crappy. I hoe this all turns around but it doesnt look good.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Like I said all along ….The D ain’t that good on the Habs and the last line of Defense is the Goaltender…On this Habs team the Goalie has too be a freaking miraculous worker and we traded that guy! Cary has been real good but this Habs team needs a tender who is unfreakingreal!!!
Speaking of Jersey, I’d love, love to get David Clarkson from them. He can fight, hit, and has decent hands for a big man.
It’s in moments like these that our lack of energy becomes apparent — we must rely on offense for energy, not like most teams who can send out some big hitters or fighters.
Yeah, I’m going to call bad shooting luck there. Despite all the mutterings about being kept to the perimeter and not going to the net (and usually, that’s just bullcrap made up to explain bad shooting luck), on that volume that’s what it ends up being.
I always felt Gomez passes are wild but Gionta has always been able to hold onto the passes. Right now, he can’t hold onto anything and their line looks terrible.
Everybody on this site is bipolar. Last week, there was nothing wrong with the team according to the posters. Now, after 1 loss and 1 losing period, everybody is being ridiulously negative. Yes that wasn’t our best period, but still… There are 2 periods to go. Just be optimistic and cheer the team. We came close to scoring on Cammy’s nice pass (post). Maybe there is more to come.
Hasek was famous for it, but he did it nearly every game of his career. He instilled Roloson with the same thing. Hasek also used to put his waterbottle on his glove side by the crossbar, so overhead cams couldn’t catch the puck coming across the line. Biggest cheater I’ve ever seen, Hasek.
Hockey’s just like that. You play bad against bad teams, great against great teams, and every other possible combination. It’s just one game … and only half of one for that matter. Still lots of time.
I have a real problem. The Center Ice feed is back, and my mood improved immediately by 50%. 2 minutes ago I was angry at the world and EVERY Habsinsideout poster. Not anymore. Now if the Habs can just pick it up and make me smile with a few goals……….
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
The thing with Hasek was that it was so blatant and rarely got called on him.
It was usually a shoulder shove or a kick to the inside of the post to send the net off. I don’t know how officials could’ve been so fooled. Goaltenders are quite aware of their surroundings.
This has been the new thing to complain about lately, I don’t get it, Eller was labelled as a playmaker when we traded for him, no one said he’d bag 30.
If a player on the other team is holding your stick up, as a Columbus player was to Plekanec on the last PP, Gomez shouldn’t pass it to Plekanec. It’s common sense, Gomez needs to wake the *** up and pay attention to what he’s doing.
So 4 of our losses are against players who have a personal vendetta against the Habs…….Lighting with Boucher and all the francophones, Devils with Brodeur (always wants to stick it to the Habs in Montreal), Panthers and Vokoun (former Habs goalie), and Garon tonight (again former Habs goalie) I get the same feeling whenever they play against teams like that, I just know they are going to lose becuase the other players will give 110%. Once I got on the site earlier today and saw Garon starting I just knew that the Habs would lose. It sucks. They better win on Friday and Saturday, even though it’s early those have become must win games especially within the division.
Been a Habs fan since I was in 2nd grade and sat behind Patrick Roy at the Aud.

Talking about the Habs’ PP, we mentioned how we miss the howitzer Souray and Bergeron had, I said Subban has a good slap shot but his stick is too long… my wife heard something different.
Getting Iginla would be beyond amazing but I don’t think we have what Calgary wants but the Sutters have been known to do crazy things..Burke is probably still dumbfounded Sutter accepted the Phaneuf trade.
Would anyone have ever imagined last year that Andrei Kostitsyn would get shifts with Gomez and Gionta to wake THEM up? What a disaster that line is this season so far.
Wow. Just tuned in part way through the third. Glad I didn’t waste an evening on this one. These guys look spectacularly ordinary. Maybe coach should draw them a roadmap to the net for next game.
I hope the result of this game is due to to us having a off game and not a style teams have learned to play against us. We’ve had some chances but Biron hasn’t exactly needed to stand on his head. Carey has been good but the D has been bad, and all scoring opportunities missed (obviously). We look completely out of sync for some reason. JM and Muller need to get this straightened out soon or it will be a very long month.
These last few games have been fascinating delves into how the human mind devises explanations and colors its observations of the process based on the end result. Gionta isn’t scoring so he’s playing like crap (nevermind that he racks up four shots a game and umpteen shots). They’re only shooting from the perimeter (NHL.com has shot charts these days, and they disagree). They have no energy when they’re losing.
65 shots, one goal, and suddenly the story is that the team plays like crap top to bottom.
Then they’ll get 6 on 45 shots some other pair of game and everyone will be ooh-ing and aaah-ing about how well everyone is playing. They won’t have changed a lick, probably, but that’s how humans work. We can’t stand leaving something without an explanation. And “luck” is not one we can tolerate even though that’s a big part of it. So the result colors the process.
not to hurt your genius theories, but if Gionta isn’t scoring he’s playing crap – his job is to score and he’s not getting it done. mind you, he cannot take the full blame because he only scores when his linemates support him and make plays, which isn’t happening often enough (Gomez)
The only people who don’t know Subban’s setting his shot up are legally blind, why is he doing that? Honestly I’ve seen his wrist shot, he’s wasting opportunities.
We are such a Samsonov team — everything on the outside. We shoot from the circles or top of the slot with no traffic in front. Unless you are on the PP, or unless you are Ovechkin, don’t bother.
Innuendo in Calgary of heavy duty partying and a clash with Iginla. But the drop in his play is hard to figure, he was an icon in Calgary for a couple of years and the equal of Iginla and Kipper.
Shows you how much confidence means to an athlete and when you lose it hard to get back.
yeah but at least it’s one less old slow ass to cover for. I will give hamr more time because he missed all of training camp. But there is no excuse for spacek. Moving spacek gets us out of paying him next year, even if we don’t move hamrlik he’s done after this year anyway.
Tonight won’t be easy. Rick Nash is always hard to contain. And R.J. F Umberger is Price-killer. Not to mention their top 2 centers, Derick Brassard and Antoine Vermette are from the Q. So, I’m expecting a tough but winnable game.
Oh well… I was supposed to go the emergency for a small foot injury..and pushed it to watch tonight’s game…I guess I just wasted 3 long hours of waiting…This is going to be a long night.
They needed some rest and a couple days off will serve them well. Still curious to see how Picard-Markov works … Hard to imagine Picard in a leading role, but Spacek has been iffy and needs more of a breather. Can’t see O’Byrne going anywhere, he’s needed next year.
I just logged in to remind Boone that not all us Newfies are as annoying as NEWFIE_DAWG_CAN_U_DIG_IT_SUCKA_MY_CAPS_LOCK_WAS_BROKEN_WHEN_I_CREATED_MY_PROFILE.
Markov is not the problem. There are a lot of mini problems right now. We need a power forward for the G&G line .. PP is obviously a mess. No one going to the front to establish position and take punishment.. Spacek really is having trouble competing this year. Price has been solid. BAsically, Cammy, Gionta, Gomez need to get going, the PP needs to stop sucking, and we need to establisih a more punishing forcheck to start creating turnovers, as opposed to being the ones committing all the turnovers.
As hard as that game was to watch, you gotta give the Jackets credit for playing a great defencive game. One bad road game doesnt mean we should all become super depressed. Practice hard and come back stronger next game.
Nice. Cammi puts a shot on goal from centre ice. Markov takes the extra second to aim and hits the goalie in the numbers. Nice way to put the final punctuation mark on a night when it appears the entire team decided to watch this one on the hotel TV. Now I dare them to trot this one out on home ice.
As long as the habs don’t take the loss too lightly, and keep the consecutive losses where they are, they can still come out placing well at the end of the season. What they don’t need is to over analyze this game. As with every other year we need some big forwards, who canshoulder some of the load. The only thing we don’t need is to allow some pts to slip away,in Nov & find ourselves behind the 8ball come end of December. Then it’s hold your breath for the rest of the season. Does the new commander & chief make a trade.be nice to see something positive, but not movement for the sake of it. Albeit a marquee player lighting the lamp at will ,would sure be nice. lol Go Habs Go
yes, kudos to the CBJs for a solid D effort in all zones. they deserved this win and played a superior game (with exception of goalies – Price played very well and Garon wasn’t tested much)
I think it’s fair to state the veteran leaders on this team–Gomez, Gionta, Cammalleri, Gill, Spacek–are letting everyone down.

An important announcement from the Government of Canada:
Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.
Pacioretty opened the scoring with Palushaj and Frederic St. Denis assisting, Mathieu Carle had the Game-winning goal off a Desharnais feed and Palushaj buried an EN insurance marker with assists by St. Denis and Pacioretty. Pacioretty was 1st star of the game, Carle was 3rd. Pacioretty has scored goals in 2 consecutive games.
Not that much, Pacioretty’s only at 2G for the season so far. Some assists but he’s playing the season in Hamilton he should have had in 08-09 and 09-10. He’s for the 11-12 roster.
I agree he was already rushed 2 years ahead of schedule. Unless the team really bottoms out and gets liquidated at the deadline maxpac should stay in hamilton all year.
Eller looked good tonight with more ice time, I’d like to see Gomez dropped down a line for a game, have the second line as Pouliot – Eller – Gionta. See what happens.
I’m for splitting up Gio and Gomer. They need a change of scene right now. Cammi hasn’t impressed me much in the last two or three games either. What about Gomer, Cammi and Eller, Akost Pleks and Gio. Worth takin’ it out for a test drive?
I have a question hopefully someone here can answer, why is Picard with Markov?
I completely agree with splitting up Markov and Subban, trying to balance your offensive force, and I agree with Picard for Spacek, one had a great start and the other, well, didn’t, it’s only fair to give Picard another kick at the can. The reason I’m confused is because he and PK formed such a great tandem only 2 games ago. Subban has had trouble finding a D partner that fits his style well, he’s played with Markov/Hammer/Spatch in the past and I have never been really wow’ed by any of the chemisty he’s had with any of those players. With Picard however, I thought he was doing really well, better then I’d ever seen him play actually. He had quite a few points and an excellent plus minus over those games, it just makes no sense to me to see them split. It’s not a major issue obviously, but just a weird choice by JM, maybe he’s just more comfortable with Picard on the wrong side then Hammer(too many left D on this team). Still, I’d like to see
I think you make a good case, for sure. The only reason I can think of is that with Spacek out, Martin wants at least one guy in each pairing to be reliable. We know Gill and Gorges are fine, I guess he wants hammer and Markov split up to spread out the experience. I think it is a case of 6 of one and half dozen of the other to be honest. Not sure why he would split Picard and Subban. Must be something he sees in practice
Ohio’s economy has lost 400,000 jobs in the last few years. It wasn’t a strong market to begin with, but it isn’t Winnipeg, Quebec City or Hamilton, which is the most important consideration in the Bettman NHL.
Markov works his ass off to win the puck twice on the PK and G&G mess it up both times…. Getting tired of the slump boys. Gomez has been WAY too casual with the puck.
You see, there’s my point from yesterday about H-I/O posters having more balance, sense and historical proportion than the professional sportwriters (I say this with sadness not triumphalism.)
JoeyBarrie writes below on Scott Gomez with exactly the maturity, engaging dispassion, and factual information that our professionals should be giveing us vis a vis the Scott Gomez situation.
So, while us nobodies in pyjamas in front of keyboards are doing this service, the professionals are sneering, sniping, tub-thumping, pot-stirring and generally matching depreciating streotypes of journalists.
Unfortunate. The old saw that ‘journalists run in packs’ is being proven all too well with their mania against Gomez.
Gomez is being too casual with the puck, ineffective dumps on the PP and trying to skate it over the blue line when he’s facing 2 guys, who does he think he is, Lemieux? He’s a great transitional skater but he has to stop trying to end to end it every time.
Nothing haven’t you heard? The literati have spoken and we the great unwashed have been put in our places. G&G are fantastic it is us the fans who have a distorted view of reality on the ice.
Got two extra tickets to the Habs game in Buffalo this Friday, private message me if interested. They are section 306 (center ice), row 12, seats 16 and 17. Good view of the whole rink. Will consider any offers! Maybe meet up for a beer at the Pearl Street Brewery!!!???
Finally a month of real opposition ,now let’s see what we have?Bruins and Philly are gonna be huge trouble…HUGE…since all we have is Moen to fight back with, geese do ya thunk other Teams will take advantage of this ,hum…..
Does anybody have a spare ticket for sale for the game this Saturday? Preferably someone who received a ticket from Ian for the Summit (so the seat is in the same sections).
If so please email me through my profile (click on my name above and go to “Contact”). I’ll get back to you later today.
overall size difference is a problem…this is why we will be in trouble again if we have the play the flyers in a series..one game okay but not a series…
The sky will be black all day tomorrow, Sun will not come up. The world is pretty much over. The Molsons are going to CLOSE down the team. WHY BOTHER PLAYING?
Everything is terrible, the world is BAD……………….
BLAH BLAH BLAH. I guess team somtimes suck. But it doesnt matter we are not making the playoffs. We will be dead last, and we are not even going to get any draft picks because Bob Gainey is an idiot and JM is a bad coach………….
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Joey. I’m not a fan of the doomsday prophecies that accompany every loss on this site but this team should’ve shown up in a much bigger way following a loss.
Columbus isn’t winning this game, the Habs are losing it.
LOL…just came back from my walk and see no change in the score. However, I feel so much better from the fresh air. I recommend this to anyone presently having fits over this game.
Some of the 100 level seats suck. I dropped 300 for some 100 levels for me and my ex, couldnt see sh!t at the ends cuzz the glass warping the view. I guess ya gotta be near the top. 300 levels are great as long as ya got ur glasses on, ya wont miss a play ( im practically blind without them). But Id say theyre pretty good, especially at center.
I was at Nassau this past Saturday, their 300 level might be closer than the Bell’s 200 level. I loved Nassau, what a dump!
Why have Spacek’s flubs twice now been from where an actual scorer should be for those shots? I mean it, he seems to be where a forward should be setting up, do they not know to go to scoring areas in this game?
Eller-Pleks-AK46 (Eller has energy, we need some tonight) Cammy-G-G (let them get out of their slump together) Moen-Halpern-Lapierre Benny-Boyd-Darche (I hope this line gets one shift per period)
I think Markov should have stayed out of the line-up a bit longer…
If we lose tonight we’re 0-2 since his return.
Never mess with the line-up when things are going well.
Does anyone remember when Koivu returned from a long absence and the Habs were winning with Kovy as the Captain… The Habs went on a losing streak upon his retun.
Hockey Inside/Out encourages lively debate, but there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism, profanity and behaviour that we deem to be offensive.
We will, without warning, ban those who do not abide by this simple rule, so as to maximize the enjoyment of readers and participants of both sexes and all ages.

Having to apologize for morons misquoting you, that’s gotta be fun.

Think of it as an opportunity to learn French
That’s what I always used to tell my students (well they were Korean and trying to learn English and I’d actually tell them to watch sitcoms, not hockey…but you get my drift)
http://www.ladyloveshockey.com
When your best defencemen is Rotislav Klesla…
Nash and Vermette are likely our issues, he’s still elite and Vermette is a Francophone so you know he’s out to burn the Habs.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
All the best…and although Obama will probably take it on the chin today, let’s hope that it is not as bad as the polls indicate. But then again, when the only goal of the other side is to make him a one-termer, it does not take much other than rhetoric and hyperbole, there is no need to do anything else – like govern the people.
“I am guilty of using elipses…”
Hey…”what will November bring?”…What it won’t bring is those 24 habs games now on TSN 2, 3 or whatever. I have Shaw Direct and Centre Ice and just bought the latter to get more Habs games in English. What a rip-off!!!
I also pay extra for RDS, even though i can’t speak a word of French and don’t have a clue what they are saying in the post-game show. I try to guess, but alas had thought with Centre Ice, I would be able to stop trying to play the game “sounds..like”.
I am totally ticked…..
Let’s start this month off with a great big W!
Rick Nash is off to a horrible start.
Their defense (minus Klesla) is terrible.
The only thing they got going for them tonight is the fact Garon is an x-Hab….so I guess The Jackets win.
Screw that, pound these fish-heads into the grinder with a 3 lb mallet!

A great day for a birthday. I’m 30 today.
All the best Don.
IM SO EXCITED OMG GO HABS GO!
Columbus’ fan based site.
Faceoff stat website pages for the Blue Jackets.
A tale of two cities. Could Columbus be on the move to Kansas City in a few years? Winnipeg?
1st line – Nash/Brassard/Voracek
2nd Line – Filatov/Vermette/Umberger
Injuries – Huselius, Moreau, Commodore and Hejda (may play)
Happy birthday 60th Shylock! All the best to you
Who’s got tickets, who’s got tickets….
less likely to score on one shot, but he might get 4 or 5
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Will Spacek be back with Hammer (I’d assume so) or will they try him with Markov?
happy b day!! hopefully the boys can get one for you!
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Thirty is cool. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday. A win tonight for you.
The replacement mics make Houde sound deeper.
yeah,same here.
They are having microphone problems…Benoit’s mic isn’t working..blessing in disguise? lol
Anyone else think RDS sounds off today?
Feeling a bit under the weather (flu I think) tonight, but hey, it’s the Habs. Gotta suck it up and watch the greatest hockey team in the world get the two points
GO HABS GO!!!
GO HABS GO, KICK COLUMBUS A**
Don’t think anyone blames you for not knowing much about the Bluejackets, Boone.
You and every other Hab fan in the World, lol.
Woooow, you’re not kidding when you say empty seats.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Wasn’t he traded to Buffalo prior to being a UFA this summer too?
Man, I’d LOVE to have Nash in the Habs roster.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Blame the fact that the Blue Jackets are one of the least marketable teams in the league.
It’s alright, I’ll just pretend you meant Kristian Huselius instead.
Didn’t Raffi Torres sign with the Canucks in the off-season?
Ohio has lost 400,000 jobs in the last four years. Not a surprise they can’t sell out.
I’m off to a rough start here
What are your thoughts on the night?
Hey Boone, Raffi Torres plays with Vancouver now.
Go Habs Go!
NHL All-Star Game Voting campaigns.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Right!
So I guess Cherry deserves some slack for not knowing PK’s real name if his own team mates are unaware. That is surprising though.
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
Thanks, boneheads. Are you Bernhard Langer’s brother?
Obama has reduced the deficit. The Dow is up 40% since he took office. The adults are in charge now. Conservatives like Mulroney (tripled the Canadian debt) and Reagan (quadrupled the US debt) advertise themselves as fiscally responsible but it takes Liberals like Clinton and Paul Martin to put the economy in order.
Hey Boone, it’s Mathieu Garon, not Biron. I guess we shouldn’t be very afraid if we can’t even remember his name.
I took conversational French in university 40 years ago – and then I took two more courses in 2008-09. I understand the announcers very well, but the players and a few of the guys on Antichambre are difficult – particularly if they’re from Montreal.
haha, your avatar DOES need updating. I think everyone is onboard this year.
Happy birthday, Sir! Have a terrific one!
Congrats Shiloh, I wish you a very happy birthday!
Have a fabulous one!
Haha, excellent. I’ll be listening intently.

A previous engagement is going to keep me away from seeing the game tonight, do you guys are going to have to cheer extra hard!
Centre Hice: Check out the new training aid at Brossard.
Basically, Benoît’s language has more or less 50 words. So, beginning with tonight’s game, you can learn these :
“se comporter” = “to behave”
“gros bonhomme” = “big guy”
“wow!” = “wow!”
By december, you could be able to describe a game too.
My oh my, being a french teacher myself, the first advice I can give you to learn french is to NOT listen to rds!
Summit Update folks, more donations.
Total donations to date are about $3000. What a community we have here. Everyone welcome.

- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
The refs for tonite’s tilt are Rowan and Martin (Mike Leggo and Justin St.Pierre).
Yeah, because republicans LOVE giving up power when they’re in charge. That’s definitely what that party does.
Let the people govern, I say.
I know… and when you consider Picard is +7…
I dunno… +2 is reassuring enough. And now that he got a little scare, maybe we’ll see a little more outta the guy…
Hopefully. I have been underwhelmed thus far.
I hear ya. I hope tonight isn’t the night they break out.
They Call Me Shane
Have a happy one Shiloh! A win by the Habs — and passing proposition 19 in California — will make lots of people happy!
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Parise will be out for 3 months. More karma for the team that tried to kill hockey.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
not for the blue jackets!
Gill is the worst defender out there tonight.
Yes, because Halak would have made those stops, no doubt, no problem.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
lose to bottom feeders? does that mean we’re playing ourselves?
need to split up G & G …. Gomez is making poor decisions …not hustling after the puck ..does not follow the play into the defensive zone ….just stands around ..did I forget to mention coughing up the puck ..and the poor pass back to our defensemen when we were in our zone on the PK… he needs a kick in the arse !!!!
#1,2,4 – AGREED!
#3 – nothing to support that tonight or since the start of this season.
Somewhere below I saw that RDS costs $45 a month? It’s two bucks a month on Shaw – Thunder Bay.
Gotta love the house announcer in Columbus with his monster truck show delivery ‘n’ the cannon shots ‘n’ all that shiznat, performin’ for a crowd about as boisterous as the dais at a funeral.
“tried?”
They succeeded.
————————
An important announcement from the Government of Canada:
Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.
#1 reason I bought a ticket to see the Devils at the ACC on November 18th was for Parise…..second favourite player in the league, my fantasy superstar for the last 3 years…..*sigh*
Thunder Bay? Played a tournament there once stayed at the Norwester I think and had Finn pancakes at the Hoito….yummmy!
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
Price was weak on the Nash goal. He’s also been weak handling the puck.
Not saying Halak would have stopped them but why did we trade him?
Eller is MaxPac redux. Only playing because of how he came to be a Hab.
Ottawa and Toronto on the net
If Cammalleri had blown that by Ryan Miller, that would have been called a perfect snipe. Halak’s puckhandling was on and off all season, negated his own SO against the NYI by giving away a goal when the Habs were on the PP last season.
Pacioretty and Eller are nothing alike.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
You held your breath for 11 games to make Point 3. Wow man!
That was as bad a period I’ve seen since the second period of the Islanders game.
HOrrible Period, I’m done watching , what happens, happens….. Worst period of the season so far… LoL at the D trying to take a slapshot when right in front of the net to get the puck out of the zone only to get pickpocketed and take a shot on Price.
You don’t have to be a Columbo to see that Columbus is shellackin’ us
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Gomez has become just an average player. Gionta lost his scoring touch.
I’ve officially had enough of Gomez.
I thought Spacek was out tonight?
Heh … I wonder how much that threw Columbus off its original game plan. Well played with the ol’switcheroo there JM.
I still have no idea why Subban is going for the mother of all wind-ups for his shots, he had a great wrister in the AHL that he is not using.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Just got in. How r they playing? Looking at the scoreline, I’m guessing not well. Someone fill me in.
“It must be love!”
Gosh…pathetic effort by the entire team.
WHY IS SPACEK NOT SCRATCHED?
Well, same could be said for Gomez.
I love how much the atmosphere changes around here when we aren’t playing so hot. Last week it was all fun and jokes here and now it’s so gloomy. Not that I’m above it I am feeling pretty deflated by this opening period but I’m just observing this funny HIO trend.
Please tell me we’re not gonna lose to bottom feeders again. This isn’t what’s supposed to happen to a team that was first overall.
He was already an average player.
He can’t even make passes this year.
They are flatter than day old pop left on the counter…not a good period but the goals weren’t Price’s fault, a breakdown in defence..and Spacek missed a wide open net
I put one below for you
Very Reliable RDS feed.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
I’m not a D-zone specialist, I just play one on the Internet.
Thinkin’ the Seppuku System is not the way to go tonight.
Team is playing like Betty White out there. I love Gio but he needs to pick it up, That whole line is suckin. Spatcho should be in the Box and Gill, well, he needs to play smarter. He has plenty of cache left from last post season, but Damn, know who is on the ice
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Derrik Brassard was picked #6 in the 2006 draft.
We picked David Fischer at #20
Claude Giroux was picked at #22
Is it just me, or is the ice HORRIBLE?
It looks like a road hockey game out there.
To be fair to Gomez, if Gionta had been able to cash in a few more of his 44 shots they would both have alot more points. If Gionta doesnt score, Gomez doesnt get any assists.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Because he’s a good guy according to Joel Bouchard.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Don’t they have a winning record thus far? In any case, I wouldn’t read too much into it. Yet.
We’re all bi-polar bud.
That being said, HABS CAN’T SCORE
The punkster is properly pissed at this poopy performance. I’m going for a long walk. They better tie this puppy up before I come back or, ohhhh, I don’t know what.
Hit the crossbar
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
thanks for the correction
Spacek shoulda been flying paper planes from the rafters… perhaps Gill should join him. Ouch!!!
Jackets playing some solid D hockey in all 3 zones. Habs’ speed has been stifled as a result.
This could be a long night
Does this mean the Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde team of 09-10 is back??
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Just curious how they can look like anything if you’re still looking for a feed after the first…..
Very poor communication out there. They are not playing like they can tonight so far.
This is when we need some fire eater behind the bench. They had better come out flying in the second.
No!! it’s us tonight.!
Hey, 6-4 in the tough West isn’t bottom-feeding.
Random thoughts at intermission:
1. Gomez really does suck. And Gionta ain’t no Yvan Cournoyer either.
2. Hal Gill is fine when he doesn’t have the puck.
3. Price is not as good as Halak. And Eller hasn’t shown anything. What the f**k were we thinking?
4. Lapierre is back to sucking.
5. Is there anything good on the Food Channel tonight?
Alot of penalty shots this week.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Two players stood there at their blue line then ran into the play to try to finish their checks when the puck was well beyond them and the other team went up the ice easily.
What would be nice if players stopped getting new line mates every single shift so they’d know WHERE TO BE and know who they are playing with!!!
Hey guys, what are the shots for either team?

have the guys in white ever played together? BRUUUUUTAL
Inevitable playing the way we were.
Trade Markov for a top3 BIG forward who can SCORE
JM need’s a good kick in his old balls.
I’d say I wish Columbus would get called for all the ridiculous interference they’re running, but with a PP this bad, would it matter?
Garon shutout. Why doesn’t everyone just admit it and we can go to bed?

This game is Spacek’s fault right?
The true ****s are showing around here as well.

Brilliant move, let’s put the weight of the D on the rookie’s back. I mean we’ve always done well assigning far too much responsibility to rookie players in the last 10 years.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Umm. Now the sky is falling.
It’s everyone’s fault but Price’s but Spacek’s endless turnovers are really hurting the team.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
A demotion or press box visit for two of our defensemen would be a much more prudent move.
This team would be so much better without Hamrlik and Spacek that’s frightening.
Woohooo we’re playing the Habs, YES we’re not going to get hit and be roughed up.
ROMANES EUNT DOMUS…..
This is a collective loss Robert. Name one Hab other than Price and Halpern who are playing well.
He is at the top of the list………. With the other 19 players.
I’m pretty sure the dog in your avatar has a better sense of the game than you do.

It’s the season of Autumn’s fault.
Let’s trade Fall.
I think the Flyers would give us Giroux, Spring and a 3rd rounder.
Habs record over the previous 5 seasons when Markov is not in the lineup speaks for itself.

That just proves how baseless your argument is, you’re taking a 2-game sample against his past 5 years with the team as proof of his abilities. Come back with a real argument.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Maybe the Habs can pick B. Guerin…
where is everyone???
I’m beginning to miss MAB and Glenn Metropolit
Was Hammer going to the net? And then parked there?
Wow.
If the PP continues to be flat don’t be surprised if you see MAB back.
What a disgusting effort by this team.
OOOOOOOOK N’IGHT ALL!
F*cking turnovers every where – bound to happen.
OOOOOOOOK NIGHT ALL!
So like where was the defense?
Screw this shit, I’m getting some sleep.
How many odd man rushes have they given up tonight? Me thinks they are in for a good old bag skate tomorrow.
- In Price We Trust
LE BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT…….. Oh this is not the white and blue game.
Poor Carey.
OVER!!
“It must be love!”
I like the sound of this game.
Looking a bit better. Stil unlucky, but i think we will get one back here.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Another pp squandered ((
Wanna get out of a slump? Play the Habs.
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Play the kids. The vets aren’t playing worth spit.
Gimmie some Lapierre, Eller and Boyd.
If the vets don’t want to skate, sit their asses on the bench until they do.
Habs NEVER get a second shot. Thats what kills us. Any goalie can stop a first shot from 20-30 feet out.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
First Vokoun, now Garon, who is next, Theodore???
Price played some of his best games in November last season, team couldn’t score to win them of course, I really don’t want to see that trend repeated.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Jackets got 2 quick ones, so I know the Habs can pull it off too…..but it’s not looking pretty
O’Byrne’s favorite city is definitely not in Florida! lol
Look on the bright side, 20 mins left in this horror movie.
Yes but Vokoun’s actually a good goalie, Habs should be lighting Garon up.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Cuz no one goes in front of the net.
Ho hum, same old same old…. lalalalala….
ROMANES EUNT DOMUS…..
Yeash, put Auld in nets. Let Price play forward. See what happens. Can’t be any worse then all these low quality chances we’re getting.
Our PP just kills 2 minutes of game time. Advantage: CLB
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
Will the rest of the team show up in the 3rd and stop feather dusting at Garon, or is Price going to have to cross the red line to get something done in this game…?
I hope someone in the press will tear JM a new one over playing Spacek and staying with G&G. Memo to JM! It is not working! Change is good!
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
Perimeter play. Never there for a rebound.
Whereas there’s always 2-3 players in front of our goalies, pouncing for rebounds.
Seems the team was feeding off of Price’s play, good finish to the period. Let’s hope they can pull off a comeback here. Huge PP?
One more chance for Markov, third time the charm on his patent backdoor play.
thoughts on the 2nd:
-Spacek needs to retire; bring in the kid Picard next game and every one after
-Gomez needs to find some motivation and start playing in the 3rd
-Eller needs target practice
-Price keeps the score respectable
-Markov playing better than last game
-AK & Pleky are playing perimeter way too much
This game reminds me of 5 guys fishing in a boat, hooks in the water, but nobody put a worm on their hook.! It is not going to happen to night folks.!
with the forward line up we have if you do not want last year repeated better hope price gives up 2 or less goals a night
Even though the Habs are playing like shit, I have a feeling we might pull this one out. Just a hunch. We’ll find out. And SHUTOUT SHUTOUT SHUTOUT!
“It must be love!”
November at this rate is going to be a very painfull month.
Coming into tonight Eller has taken 21 shots and 15 have gone on net.
without trying to raise the smurf issue again, I really think a big part of the rebound opportunities has to do with having big enough forwards to press their way in to find them
Ryan White! Ryan White! Ryan White!
Actually I called for the Kid Line myself. Energy, speed and skill. What is not to like JM?
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
Josh Gorges is having the worst game I have seen him play in a long, long time.
thumbs down
Tell you what, go tear your ACL and see how well you’re moving around in 5 months.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
That’s the first time I’ve ever read that Markov is overrated.
Leaf fans don’t tell me he’s overrated. Think you need a nap.
Senseless up 3-zip on the Loafs. Fans at the ACC usin’ their Blackberrys to schedule a collective boo for Phenough late in the third.
Round of JD shots and a shake of the head for the Habs durin’ intermission. Back to basics, gents.
I need a drink! decalf!
Fresh off the press. Ohio net-monster blanks the Habs.
White won’t get the call. Hasn’t earned it in Hamilton. Maxwell will get it first.
He’s been our best d-man today.
playing the outside, so they won’t get rebounds that way – the smurfs don’t seem to want to pay the price tonight
Phaneuf took care of that. It’s called a Lower body injury!
Too much beer on this boat.
does that mean no milk? lol
Yes he is.
Glad you noticed that. Not many have.
How about a rye instead on friday night ian?
if you think it’s markov’s fault the team hasn’t won the since being put back in the line up, you need to be quiet – adults are having a grown-up conversation.
*like*

Fans now coordinatin’ a massive BooTextin’(TM).
First negative comment I’ve ever read from you Ian
OOH AAH – HABS ON THE WARPATH!
Man don’t waste phone data on this game.
I’m watching the Simpsons.
Difficult to see the logic of criticising Markov because the forwards cannot (unwilling to?) finish.

An important announcement from the Government of Canada:
Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.
Should have said something earlier, you could have watched it at my house. But your not missing anything anyways. Go out to Dupont Circle and have a few drinks… Just tell everyone your a Democrat in that area… Youll be fine…
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
They won a round with him, won 1 without him and last a round without him. Not very definitive.

Boozetextin’ ?
Sounds like sumpin’ we should try this weekend.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Maybe It’s time to separate Gionta from Gomex
1P 1:30: Why does P.K. always need the big wind-up?
It may not be fair to single out P.K. for that sin. I’ve been thinking that a whole lot more might be accomplished if someone other than AK46 would use a wrist shot. His looks scary hard, but few other players seem to think of it more than once in a while.
this’ll be a good test to their character tonight. Coming off a tiresome loss on saturday, a rebound win tonight will display the resilience that we hope they have. Should be a good one. Cammy pots a couple tonight, gio 1. Final 5 to 2 HABS
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
being a habs fan is even more cruel.
we’re stuck with Gomer, the pylon till eternity.
look at the bright side.
we’ll lose most of the games this season and get THE #1 LOTTERY PICK!
I;’m really looking forward to that.
oh I forgot NYI will finish ahead of us. ok the #2 pick is still ok.
lose habs lose!
So, you’re a glass half empty kinda guy
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Truculence is all you need to be successful!!!
AND TORONTO CONTINUES TO BE THE LUCKIEST TEAM IN THE NHL………
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
Mmm…truculence!
Once again, lol at the comments tonight, 90% of them absolutely ridiculous.
Get a cold shower, everyone.
Have a good night all and Go Habs!
What, Gomez hasn’t been wearing his favourite knickers?
Not exactly working out for them now is it? Maybe truculence was not the word Burkie was looking for.
90%? That’s a heavy judgment to lay on us my friend.
Being a Leafs fan is cruel in itself. So the fact they have lost 3 in a row, and back to their losing ways is the only thing keeping me going.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
I know Nash is a big guy but we were really boxed out tonight…we’re they that much bigger and stronger that the Hab forwards were shut down ? Could the perimeter have been all that was available ! Was size the issue?
The Earth is flat and we never went to the moon! JFK was shot by J. Edgar Hoover wearing a dress; he was paid off by Area 51 Martians. Gomez is a fembot and Markov is KGB.

For your 6 wild speculations…
No, No, Yes, Yes, No, Yes.
Don’t ask how I know.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
This team can not stand prosperity.
Especialy when it comes to power plays in the last five minutes of every game.
Yup, we need a bigger skilled forward or two up front and a big Dman who will protect the crease.
Games like tonight will be very common this season, some good games but mostly bad ones like this one.
Markov the saviour for the team? I don’t think so.
No surprise we lost again tonight.
“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “
He will be 400 lbs next year from eating Molson hotdogs all season.
based on potential young talent in the system and on the team this team should be very good in 3 years…the goal scoring issues that so many of our forwards had last year have not really changed that much…metro,moore,sk74 for halpern, boyd, eller may be an overall upgrade but does very little for goal scoring upgrade…we have still many of the same type of forwards with lsomee variations in ability and play style but all have the common trait of very little scoring ability…..again the key is to make the playoffs …it really makes no difference what position we finish…we probably have no easier time playing a team like columbus in the playoffs vs the capitals…
I miss Moore. What a big loss to the Habs. Never shoulda let him go.
Moss, Moss, Moss, Moss…..
ROMANES EUNT DOMUS…..
Proverbially, the next goal…
I’m switching to Glee even though it’s a re-run. Not the Habs’ night. I thought Price showed all sorts of game, but no danger from the forwards and lots of bad decisions by the D. This is one of those games Pat Roy would have reamed the whole team out for.

this game is pretty booooring.
San Jose, Minny game is on.
YES! YES! YES! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but the basement isn’t.
JM looks constipated when he bottles anger up like that
Where’s our PK?
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Pleks line cannot always score, Gomez and Gionta need to get their f*cking heads in the game.
We need some Auld spice.
I’m getting really sick of Gomez this year, he’s either too casual or impatient. He had Gionta open and instead he just rifles a pass right by him that Gio had no chance in controlling. No balance in his game whatsoever.
The Habs are playing with Stupid.
Uh oh. Reality is hitting us like we’re the Maple Leafs
Gomez is absolutely useless. And, for the first time I’ve seen this year, Carey slid on his knees until he was completely out of the net. He probably wouldn’t have saved it anyway – basically a two-on-none.
You can’t be serious.
Yeah 10 games in, time to start producing.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
That 1st place in the East was an illusion wasn’t it?
Why can’t the Habs ever cash in goals while the scrimmage is going on in front of the net…
Awful 1st period. Awful PP. Just Awful Hockey.
G&G and the pp have GOT to get going!
I hate those cameras at the top of the glass- I think it’s a player’s glove on the ice every time.
He Had to, considering there is supposed to be 2 D men defending the net….
UHOH
Gomez has been a major disappointment.
Screw racking up the points, if he can just pass the god damn puck properly without creating a turnover, I’ll be happy.
How could you F*&^ that up!
It’s going to be one of those games where nothing clicks.
Does Spacek really fail at everything, can’t hit an open net for his life..
Does Spacek really fail at everything, can’t hit an open net for his life..
you have got to be kidding me! can’t catch a break
Why would Lappy drive the guy to take the net off in the O-zone? Makes no sense.
We need a spark, but we don’t have any hard hitters or fighters, perhaps except for Moen.
We have two checking lines, but no energy line.
Nice try Cammi, but shoooot da puuuuck!
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
So were not playing very well at the moment ..doesn’t mean we can’t get a better, still 40 minutes left ….we can only hope for improvement

Am I the only one watching a still picture of Antoine Vermette on the RDS FEED??? I got the volume, but no video………… AWESOME. So happy im paying $45 a month for this
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
We’re leaving guys open in the slot way too much
Gill is passing tape to tape, just to the other team.
Seriously, as the RDS guys said, you cant win consistently with 1 line, you need 2, its just how it is. And people on here have been saying theyve been playing well but they havent, they hardly do anything right now
gill is taking the pressure of spacek! i count 4 giveaways for gill
WTF was that move by gionta on the board…
What is the vegas line on the site crashing after tonight’s game?
Sadly, I was thinking the same thing.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
I blame O’Byrne, JM should really bench the putz. Oh wait a minute!
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
Pouliot’s bonehead penalty is going to keep him on the 3rd and maybe 4th line for a long time. Discipline! it just has to be there, and he just seems not to give a damb.
Looks like a lot of them don’t give a damn so far tonite … maybe taking the Blue Jackets to lightly
Thanks for the calendar !!!! Spacek & Gomez on the PK ….I’m getting very nervous
This game is making me sicker than I already feel. I may pack it in early if this sh*t keeps up. Not worth feeling more miserable watching this crap.
And unless you’re skating into traffic, you should always have your stick down. So who’s at fault?
Our best players, or highest-paid, have to be our best players.
NBA Jam voice: Gionta can’t buy a bucket!
Like I said all along ….The D ain’t that good on the Habs and the last line of Defense is the Goaltender…On this Habs team the Goalie has too be a freaking miraculous worker and we traded that guy! Cary has been real good but this Habs team needs a tender who is unfreakingreal!!!
Yeah. Halak woulda stopped those goals.
Your stupidity knows no bounds.
Speaking of Jersey, I’d love, love to get David Clarkson from them. He can fight, hit, and has decent hands for a big man.
It’s in moments like these that our lack of energy becomes apparent — we must rely on offense for energy, not like most teams who can send out some big hitters or fighters.
Love it, let’s do it…. Oh yeah, forgot JM makes love not war. Sorry but no can do for you.
ROMANES EUNT DOMUS…..
1 goal out of their last 65+ shots.
Yeah, I’m going to call bad shooting luck there. Despite all the mutterings about being kept to the perimeter and not going to the net (and usually, that’s just bullcrap made up to explain bad shooting luck), on that volume that’s what it ends up being.
Another offensive zone penalty?!?!?!
Has Saku Koivu put a curse on us??
I always felt Gomez passes are wild but Gionta has always been able to hold onto the passes. Right now, he can’t hold onto anything and their line looks terrible.
And another bad penalty? Really?
That stick broke pretty easy…

CAREY PRICE!!!
Brilliant move to knock off the net.
Ridiculous save. Keep it up Carey. Keep the Habs in the game.
CAREY! CAREY!…and Benoit needs to shut up!
Did Pleks even actually hit the guy’s stick? Sure looked like a WWE slash to me.
Clever work with the post by Carey on the first wave. LOL
Go Habs Go!
I remember a game like twelve years ago when Hasek got caught behind the net and so he tipped it over. They nailed him with a delay of game.
Habs score a goal and it’s a different game … not like the Jackets are an unstoppable steamroller of a hockey team.
Full Breezer 4 Life
I don’t think it actually did – I think he just dropped it and pantomimed that it broke.
Go Habs Go!
Gomez and Gionta should be ashamed of themselves…
The puck movement and stickhandling by the Jackets is ripping our guys to shreds.
Two old Czechs and two overpaid Americans.
I like watching other teams perform well on their PPs. It just reminds me whoever is coordinating ours has been doing a terrible job.
Price’s best save of the night is against Spacek.
—
Chris
Great save by Price on Spatch.
Speak for yourself, I said this team has plenty of weaknesses and let’s wait before planning the parade.
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
watching Gorges try one-times from the blue line is like watching my 8 year old try to hit a ball out of the park – just not enough mustard!
Garon hasn’t been tested this game at all.
Another deflected shot. And another. And another.
You like that?
Go Habs Go!
Eller is the new Higgins – can’t hit the broad side of a barn
Playing very disorganized hockey right now.
To be fair Eller has never been a sniper at any level. Don’t know how it got started that he is a goal scorer.
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
Eller taking Gionta’s spot on the line. Pretty sure Gionta hurt his hand at the end of the PK he was holding it hurt at the end of that shift.
Kind of hard when a defender’s stick sends the puck ten feet wide.
Just. Brutal.
Ok Sherlock… nothing like pointing out the obvious
Why not try Eller, Gionta, Pouliot…I dunno pull something out of ur ass JM!
“It must be love!”

I was just thinking that, Columbus blocks a lot of shots
The thing with Hasek was that it was so blatant and rarely got called on him.
It was usually a shoulder shove or a kick to the inside of the post to send the net off. I don’t know how officials could’ve been so fooled. Goaltenders are quite aware of their surroundings.
sure, and every other shot misses.
sounds much like Higgins, doesn’t he? Hence, my point.
This has been the new thing to complain about lately, I don’t get it, Eller was labelled as a playmaker when we traded for him, no one said he’d bag 30.
Yeah he was never subtle. Always hated Hasek.
Plenty of sang- froid there. I miss the old Bill! xD
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
Whatever you say.
He has six missed shots through 11 games.
Probably the same way we were led to believe Gomez is a playmaker ???
How about Giguere’s mattress pads in 2003? That was cheating.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
What’s with Hamr getting his pinch on tonight?
I liked it. He can’t do anything else right.
I estimated wrong on this one. When Moen is ur only Hab back on a 2-on-1, we have issues. Hopefully, it was a one-game brain cramp. Good Night!
“It must be love!”
It’s been a 3 game slump, not 1.
I love Benny, but he falls on his ass way too damn much. He must be trying to break some sort of record.
That is the best skill Benny has.
If a player on the other team is holding your stick up, as a Columbus player was to Plekanec on the last PP, Gomez shouldn’t pass it to Plekanec. It’s common sense, Gomez needs to wake the *** up and pay attention to what he’s doing.
Boyd’s positioning is bad. His line gives up a lot of goal. Pyatt is much better defensively.
Anybody having the same problem?? Everytime I log on and try to access the blogs or try to comment, I get logged off…This is really annoying…

YES HABS CAN!!

Afraid so Joey but anything is possible until the last buzzer.
Talking about the Habs’ PP, we mentioned how we miss the howitzer Souray and Bergeron had, I said Subban has a good slap shot but his stick is too long… my wife heard something different.
lmfao..that is funny!

With Markov 0-2-0
I mean, will Gio ever score again? Giving himself such good chances, cant get it in the net.

Message to all habs players: HIT THE F*&%ING NET
Would anyone have ever imagined last year that Andrei Kostitsyn would get shifts with Gomez and Gionta to wake THEM up? What a disaster that line is this season so far.
So if Perry Pearns chews that hard on his gum, is it a bad sign?
Im thinking pillsbury.
I’m having trouble counting Spacek’s giveaways tonight with my hands.
And feet.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Bag skate everyone, including the coaches.
Wow. Just tuned in part way through the third. Glad I didn’t waste an evening on this one. These guys look spectacularly ordinary. Maybe coach should draw them a roadmap to the net for next game.
Is he a shooting coach to help Cammy and Gionta? Another grinder isn’t going to solve this mess.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Never happen. you have better odds finding the cure.
You forgot, They skate down and score with ease.
You gonna blame Hammer for the linesman getting in the way? Really?
I guess when teams have nothing to worry about getting hit comming into habs end its free wheeling.
How many hits tonite in our end?JM must be happy
I hope the result of this game is due to to us having a off game and not a style teams have learned to play against us. We’ve had some chances but Biron hasn’t exactly needed to stand on his head. Carey has been good but the D has been bad, and all scoring opportunities missed (obviously). We look completely out of sync for some reason. JM and Muller need to get this straightened out soon or it will be a very long month.
I guess when teams have nothing to worry about getting hit comming into habs end its free wheeling.

At least Hamrlik is showing some emotion, getting nasty in the corner there.

We must be thinking of different plays. He just did a spinorama when a Jacket entered the zone. No linesman near him.
Hamrlik has been better than Spacek this year, that isn’t saying much but that’s how it is.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
not to hurt your genius theories, but if Gionta isn’t scoring he’s playing crap – his job is to score and he’s not getting it done. mind you, he cannot take the full blame because he only scores when his linemates support him and make plays, which isn’t happening often enough (Gomez)
I’m willing to give hamrlik more time because he had no training camp but spacek has no excuse for the way he is playing.
didn’t you know halak routinely wins games when his own team doesn’t score any goals.
Exactly. F’ing unbelievable.

Is Gionta on the 4th line or is the 4th line with Gionta on the 2nd?
Jarred Bolll?!?!?! Puh-lease!
“It must be love!”
Spacek is eating hotdogs in Buffalo!
“It must be love!”
Get Spatch off the ice!!!
another great tape to tape pass by spacek to the other team
No way Spacek plays next game.
______________________________________ Long live Captain Gionta.
It’s nice to hear PK Subban scream at Cammalleri for the pass.
No call on the cross-check to Eller, nice.
The only people who don’t know Subban’s setting his shot up are legally blind, why is he doing that? Honestly I’ve seen his wrist shot, he’s wasting opportunities.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Yep. Coulda walked in another 5 feet before letting that one rip too. He did shoot to a high percentage rebound area of the goalie though.
Jesus that’s a poor rationalization.
Spacek has been brutal. I thought he wasn’t playing??
Full Breezer 4 Life
not sure of JM’s logic on playing Spacek. Picard has been playing very well.
SIT SPACEK NOW. SHEESH.
So, i wonder who gauthier is scouting at the canes/flyers game?
Eller has all the moves, but they’re all too S.L.O.W.
Gio and Gomez not pulling their weight. No emotion and no life. This needs to change quickly.
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
The G&G line is dragging everybody down with them.
Bill J said someone reported that it was Tuomo Ruutu.
I believe that. Wouldn’t be surprised for us to send them a defenseman and a mid round pick over for him.
Spacek is now the 7th, possibly the 8th D man on the habs
can we bury gomez in hamilton???
its 09-10 all over again
Stretching our D too much.
Non Hab related…
PHANEUF just got injured really badly……didnt look good, 2 trainers helped him off ice…
why do i have the feeling we are going to get shut out
.::DON’T MESS WITH THE MOENATOR!::.
We are such a Samsonov team — everything on the outside. We shoot from the circles or top of the slot with no traffic in front. Unless you are on the PP, or unless you are Ovechkin, don’t bother.
Pleks line and Markov-Subban need to play more shifts together, only guys creating chances.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Did the Habs forget how to play hockey in a two-day interval? This is just BRUTAL. From almost everyone!
“It must be love!”
i feel bad for phaneuf.. the guy had such an amazing start to his career, was untouchable/futur captain. what the heck happened to him
.::DON’T MESS WITH THE MOENATOR!::.
2010 Spacek Oddity…
Open the pod bay doors Hal.
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Cammalleri needs to switch back to his old stick, this one is trash.
hmmm…..ruutu has a 3.8 million dollar cap hit. Who do we have on defence who has a 3.8 million dollar cap hit?
That was disturbing… seriously disturbing.
What has been seen….cannot be unseen…
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
Team looks terrible but only down 2-0 with lots of time on the clock. IF they can score the next goal it changes everything because CBJ is a bad team.
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
The dancing fat man may be the highlight of the night thus far…
Ragging on Gomez & Gio, but how well are Cammi AK,and …. Pleks playing?
Big moment
I was gonna say, clear-cut interference right there.
And…there go my nachos.
On a positive note, Komi’s jet pack wasn’t workin’, forcin’ him to hand Fisher a penalty shot, which the latter buried with authority.
PHA-LEEES Score on this PP.

bold prediction : habs won’t get a shot on Garon
Really? You’re suggesting that Cammy, Pleks, and AK have been no better than G-G so far this year? Okay …
Full Breezer 4 Life
Jaro isn’t making Pierre’s job easier.
Jaro is far from the only problem. A well deserved scapegoat label right now but Hamrlik needs somebody to cover his ass too.
Spatch and Marky, Hamr and Soobie?
i was wrong!
garon shut out tonight prediction still going strong!
update: habs shot only hit outside net, still no shot
This powerplay is GREAT………
Innuendo in Calgary of heavy duty partying and a clash with Iginla. But the drop in his play is hard to figure, he was an icon in Calgary for a couple of years and the equal of Iginla and Kipper.
Shows you how much confidence means to an athlete and when you lose it hard to get back.
‘Cogito ergo doleo’
that was pretty good!
They get a bit of pass for being responsible for almost all of the team’s wins so far.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
In case you haven’t noticed, this guy is completely delusional.
Why the odium? Judgementalism — and blanket dismissal at that — is an unattractive trait, especially in the callow.
I was talking about tonight only — no-one’s playing well
yeah but at least it’s one less old slow ass to cover for.
“It must be love!”
Garon is
1.French Canadian
2.A Back-up
3.An X-Hab
I think we might be in some trouble tonight. He packing the tri-force!!

is our best play offensively right d to left d, to right wing, shoot?
Lack of secondary scoring and an anemic power play was going to bite them in the ass sooner or later.
Oh well… I was supposed to go the emergency for a small foot injury..and pushed it to watch tonight’s game…I guess I just wasted 3 long hours of waiting…This is going to be a long night.

YES HABS CAN!!
Guy Boucher and Scott Arniel’s former coaching gigs, Hamilton and Manitoba are currently facing off in an AHL match. No score over 9 minutes.

Garon shutout. Called it.
Spaceman you are not helping your cause
how many times are they gonna try and score from center ice?
Just trying to pad the shot clock.
They needed some rest and a couple days off will serve them well. Still curious to see how Picard-Markov works … Hard to imagine Picard in a leading role, but Spacek has been iffy and needs more of a breather. Can’t see O’Byrne going anywhere, he’s needed next year.
I agree, Bill. O’Byrne will be needed next year.
And who knows, he might be quite ready by then.
Wow what a weak call, the guy’s picking up his stick
Worst part is,it looked like it was called by the back ref while the other guy 5 feet away let it go.
Would playing O’Byrne and Picard not be a better plan than Hamrlik and Spacek at this point?
/\\ike
GO HABS GO!
Yes.9.3 million in the press-box.
Keep Hammer in. But, replace Spacek with Picard who has played soundly since the start of the season.
I thought Spatch was a scratch for tonight? Guess I’m wrong on that.
What do you think?????
BOWLING TOMORROW?
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
ZOMG Garon is amazing, how did we ever let him get away?!?!
…say the bleeding hearts.
7-4-1 is still a decent record folks! Let’s keep in mind that it’s only 12 games in. And we could be worse: we could be the Leafs.

Ex-Hab, francophone goalie in net for a defensive hockey team – the Habs didn’t stand a chance. Better luck next time.
I propose a new version of the Quebec rule. No opposing team is allowed to start a goaltender of French-Canadian heritage against the Habs.
- In Price We Trust
Team’s so used to a loud building. Habs didn’t start playing until the fans came to life way too late in third.
Someone inspect Gionta and Cammalleri’s sticks please, I think they’ve been sabotaged.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
And the Habs hit a slump just in time for the Summit… Great….
As hard as that game was to watch, you gotta give the Jackets credit for playing a great defencive game. One bad road game doesnt mean we should all become super depressed. Practice hard and come back stronger next game.
Im going to two games next week, one in Boston and one in Montreal..I hope to god they get it going again…so frustrating to watch right now
Not one for the DVD box set tonight…Tabarnac! Someone score a goal…this week…
Bag skate them and then go bowling…
“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”
There is no better team anywhere at shooting directly into the chest of the goaltender. Even Markov has picked up that particular skill
Oh well, looks like we’ll never win another game EVER…that we have the worst goalie EVER…that we have the worst defence EVER…etc. etc. etc….
Looking forward to Friday and Saturday night. We’ll likely experience either an awakening or a wake.
It was a stinker, what can ya do? We’ll come back and win the next one!!

lol…nice one…you forgot “disband the parade route planning comittee”
“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”
Albeit a marquee player lighting the lamp at will ,would sure be nice. lol Go Habs Go
OK Joeybarrie, you were right. I am off to Dupont Circle to drown my sorrows.
yes, kudos to the CBJs for a solid D effort in all zones. they deserved this win and played a superior game (with exception of goalies – Price played very well and Garon wasn’t tested much)
Yeah, why the hell can’t he get Gionta to hit the net?
Correction, it’s at least another 150 games of Spacek.
Looks like he did…
“Six more years…God Bless You Turtleneck Man!”

Leafs are gonna comeback! They’ve got truculence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was just teasing
I think it’s fair to state the veteran leaders on this team–Gomez, Gionta, Cammalleri, Gill, Spacek–are letting everyone down.

An important announcement from the Government of Canada:
Health Canada is reminding Canadians that consumption of the Toronto Maple Leafs has led to vomiting, fever, bloody diarrhea, dementia, and penile dysfunction.
LOL Some ideas are so good they bear repeating.
Prospect Report:
Bulldogs win 3-1 over the Manitoba Moose.

If I didn’t have an early meeting I would join you………. Ill just drink here.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
I thoughts the BJs played a great road game.
A ray of hope? Maybe Maxpac should get a look on the GG line. Couldn’t be worse than what’s happening right now.
He’s destroyed the team chemistry. Trade him for a couple of small speedy goal scorers.
No way, let Max Pac play the whole year in the AHL. That kid needs confidence, and he especially needs confidence in his shot. Let him get it slowly.
Damn. Gonna have to give up my tree branch on Rene Lesveque.
Not that much, Pacioretty’s only at 2G for the season so far. Some assists but he’s playing the season in Hamilton he should have had in 08-09 and 09-10. He’s for the 11-12 roster.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Didn’t they do this last year and come out with back to back Ws that weekend?
Just graspin’ at straws fellahs. I’m sure you’re right.
LOL, bears are dangerous!,,,my buttons are sticky ok!!…;-p
I agree he was already rushed 2 years ahead of schedule. Unless the team really bottoms out and gets liquidated at the deadline maxpac should stay in hamilton all year.
Eller looked good tonight with more ice time, I’d like to see Gomez dropped down a line for a game, have the second line as Pouliot – Eller – Gionta. See what happens.
Oh hell, now VancouverHab is going to be stalking you.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Win and a SO loss (loss due 100% to Laraque), Price was beyond words spectacular in both games. Hoping for more of the same. See you Friday!
100% agreed.
He’s hilariously delusional, he called me a nazi sympathizer over the summer.
I’m for splitting up Gio and Gomer. They need a change of scene right now. Cammi hasn’t impressed me much in the last two or three games either. What about Gomer, Cammi and Eller, Akost Pleks and Gio. Worth takin’ it out for a test drive?
win in washington and a shootout loss against the wings (a special thanks to bgl and his 5 or 7 minute PP for the wings).
bush league penalty call
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Still, I’d like to see
Markov-Hammer
Picard-Subban
Gill-Gorges
I’m guessing by now you’ve seen the latest, that Spacek is in and Picard is out!! So Picard won’t be paired with Markov!!
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Ohio’s economy has lost 400,000 jobs in the last few years. It wasn’t a strong market to begin with, but it isn’t Winnipeg, Quebec City or Hamilton, which is the most important consideration in the Bettman NHL.
MAN! That could of bit us on the @$$!
The old saw that ‘journalists run in packs’ is being proven all too well with their mania against Gomez.
i expect a similar atmosphere at my rec game tomorrow night!
“I’ll take potent potables for 500, Alex” JB
Who is this Gomez guy i keep seeing give away the puck?
Yet another punchless PP.
More GD G&G uselessness.
I love Cammi but someone needs to tell him that he won’t score if he doesn’t hit the net!
Well that may have pushed us from 29th to 30th in the league, they really need to dedicate a whole practice to the PP
Wow, our PP just aint happening these days…..
Goalies in Montreal have two roles, netminder and scapegoat.
A trick to beat the Habs.,,,
PLAY HIGH PRESSURE AGAINST THEM…!!
Does P.K. use the initials when he signs his name? I have to know.
What is up with G and G?
Gomez is being too casual with the puck, ineffective dumps on the PP and trying to skate it over the blue line when he’s facing 2 guys, who does he think he is, Lemieux? He’s a great transitional skater but he has to stop trying to end to end it every time.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
Whine a bit more. You’d think you’re Gomez’s dad or something. He’s had an atrocious start to this game, too casual. End of story.

horrible giveaway but nice shot.

And, that’s why I wish we had Nash…….

Price looked bad there but what a snipe.
There’s no one I know of that could stop a perfect shot like that. What a waste it is having a talent like Nash in a market like that.

Damnit! Great, another penalty.
Come on Benny, aggressive play is good, that was stupid
giveaways + shots into shin pads + dumb penalties = bag skate
This is the 3rd game in a row now with the Habs playing just awful….
How did he look bad? If Cammalleri would have take the same shot no way you blame the goalie
Nothing haven’t you heard? The literati have spoken and we the great unwashed have been put in our places. G&G are fantastic it is us the fans who have a distorted view of reality on the ice.

I agree but better him there than in Toronto.

Does this game count for points?

Joey. I’m not a fan of the doomsday prophecies that accompany every loss on this site but this team should’ve shown up in a much bigger way following a loss.
Columbus isn’t winning this game, the Habs are losing it.
As long as molson is closing down the team and not their breweries then everything will be ok. Especially the one in barrie.
you’re being way to harsh on the team!
Careful JB, or Mr. Berkshire will declare you clinically insane…..
LOL…just came back from my walk and see no change in the score. However, I feel so much better from the fresh air. I recommend this to anyone presently having fits over this game.
Chill. This too shall pass.

This should easily be a tie game. Need to bury our chances
Oy Oy Oy, Price.
My lines for the second:
Eller-Pleks-AK46 (Eller has energy, we need some tonight)
Cammy-G-G (let them get out of their slump together)
Moen-Halpern-Lapierre
Benny-Boyd-Darche (I hope this line gets one shift per period)
Habs need a dose of Auld Spice!
Bulldogs leading 1-0 over Manitoba after the 1st, Max Pacioretty has the goal, Aaron Palushaj assisted.
- I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
It’ll be funny reading back all these posts if the Habs win. LOL
It would be a miracle if we win, cause we are sucking it up tonight. But Its what Im hoping for……..
