After missing Game 2 with a back injury, Ilya Kovalchuk returned to the New Jersey lineup and racked up a goal and two assists in the Devils 4-3 win over the Flyers.
Alexei Ponikarovsky scored 17 minutes into overtime, off some dazzling work by Kovalchuk.
The Devils star took advantage of a bad line change to feed Ponikarovsky a tape-to-tape pass that sprung him into the offensive zone, where Ilya Bryzgalov made the first save but was beaten on the rebound.
New Jersey took a 2-1 lead in the series.
