Liveblog: Canadiens draft Galchenyuk, Malcolm Subban to Boston

The Canadiens selected Alex Galchenyuk with the third pick in the draft.
And the hated Bruins took goaltender Malcolm Subban, P.K.’s kid brother.
As expected, Nail Yakupov – Galchenyuk’s teammate with the Sarnia Sting – was drafted first overall by Edmonton.
Columbus took defenceman Ryan Murray with the second pick.
Eight of the top 10 picks were defencemen.
The first Canadian forward drafted was mammoth Tom Wilson, taken 16th by Washington.
Filip Forsberg, projected as a possible Canadiens’ pick at 3 if they couldn’t get Galchenyuk, lasted to the 11th spot before he was taken by the Caps.
One pick later, Buffalo drafted Mikhail Grigorenko, a big centre some hoped would go to the Canadiens.
Teuvo Teverainen – second on the Canadiens draft list – lasted until the 18th pick before being chosen by Chicago, Marc Bergevin’s former team.
First goaltender drafted, 19th by Tampa Bay, was Russian Andrei Vasilevski.
And Mike Matheson, the pride of Pointe Claire, went first-round to Florida.
