The Canadiens played another gosh-awful first period en route to losing their 22nd game at the Bell Centre.
Mercifully, there are only nine home games left.
I have been following the Habs for over 50 years and never have they had a team where I cannot stand so many of their players. AK, Gomez, Bourque, Kaberle, Weber, Campoli, all useless hockey players. No heart among any of them. Looks like a long dark stretch of boring hockey in Montreal. There has been no entertainment to the NJ game or ths one.
No doubt; but most of our forwards do very little to help them (the D-corps in general) out. They don’t score, they don’t keep the puck in the other end and they constantly turn the puck over at our blue line and lose battles against the boards.
Michel Bergeron said something interesting earlier today: for a while now the Habs organization has been getting rid of so-called unidimensional, i.e. Offense-only players. But when they talk about unidimensional defensive players, they praise them to no end.

When this regime finds a few bonafide goal scorers we may be respectable again. When is the last time we had a 35 or 40 goal scorers? They just keep missing the net or right at the goaltenders. Going on only one goal in the last 5 periods at HOME. Just brutal.
He is out of shape, he needs to lose about 10 lbs. If he puts his mind to a rigorous off season strength and conditioning program, he could once again be a good player in this league.
nice play by emelin to join the rush and let the pass go through him to Gomez alone on the other side. reminded me of Lemieux-Kariya at the olympics… except its not Kariya scoring its scott gomez lol
I went to a game at the beginning of the famous gastro outbreak during Carbo’s tenure.
We lost 4-3 against NYR, but it was a great game. Next day they lost 2-0 against someone terrible and apparently people were barfing between shifts.
Pathetic first period. The boys put more effort in taking their daily dump than playing this game. You would think that they believe they are out of the playoff hunt. One more period like this and it will be time to turn the channel.
I have an arm chair suggestion for RC and the Habs. When the other team stands up on their own blue line, dump it into the corner and chase with speed. It is not rocket science.
Winnipeg winning, Tampa winning and we are playing like crap. What the hell was that play in the corner with Gomez? He should sit on the bench until his contract expires!
We got a break last night with the scores, tonight is a different story. If we lose this one……..next to impossible will be the talk on Wednesday.
And I am one of the positive posters……I am finding it harder and harder to do so
Hockey Inside/Out encourages lively debate, but there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding racism, profanity and behaviour that we deem to be offensive.
We will, without warning, ban those who do not abide by this simple rule, so as to maximize the enjoyment of readers and participants of both sexes and all ages.
I can’t believe Price hasn’t scored a goal yet, he is killing this team.
No doubt instead of skating to the bench on those delayed penaltys, he should go straight to the point.
Funny….
Without him we wouldn’t even be watching the third period
Jaro would have scored by now…
Sorry. Couldn’t help it!
I have been following the Habs for over 50 years and never have they had a team where I cannot stand so many of their players. AK, Gomez, Bourque, Kaberle, Weber, Campoli, all useless hockey players. Blame Molson. He won’t fire the Goat
None, except maybe Bourque and Weber, on next season’s team

I sure hope you are correct sir!
How do they get rid of Kaberle?
Working with immigration to revoke his visa.
LOL!
24 Romanian strippers
I’m with you. No heart…No passion…No talent…But what the hell…
They all have money.
50 years – you’re just a pup!
I’ve been a fan for at least 51.
Like you, I think this ‘team’ is a mess. I think M Gauthier will be looking for a new job soon. Maybe the car wash …
Couldn’t agree with you more.
At the end of the day, Cunneyworth will be judged as the man responsible for drawing up this team’s pathetic powerplay.
How is this game still close?
Kaberle = painful to watch
Weber = painful
Campo = painful
P & P (Price & Post)
Robinson, Green, Desjardins, Ludwig, Chelios,…
We’re pretty far from that lot.
No doubt; but most of our forwards do very little to help them (the D-corps in general) out. They don’t score, they don’t keep the puck in the other end and they constantly turn the puck over at our blue line and lose battles against the boards.
I predict Les Boys will score … this week.
5 home periods. One goal to show for it.
“take your time and hurry up”
It’s Prices fault!
Blake Geoffrion… come on down!!!!
Maybe they should send someone outside to see if they can buy a goal from one of the scalpers.
Richard R
Watch, if PG is still around next year, he’s going to fast-track Tinordi and Beaulieu
Let’s hope PG is long gone
Both of them are already better than Kaberle, Weber and Campoli combined.
Interesting. Ryder removed the cap of the water bottle before taking a drink in the penalty box. They know there’s a bug in play.
Powerplay power outage.
Stop turning around PK, face up and face wash someone.
LoL this power play is gross
Ok, this is the one where we get a shot on net.
Geoffrion won’t have to show much to outshine Palushaj.
Wow. 4 penalties to Dallas… They call 1.
Paging Dr White.
I really really miss Andrei Markov.
Yeah. Me too.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
Andrei who???
What is Lehtinon on!!?
The stars have figured out the best way to win is to hand the boys constant powerplays.
Or, if you’re one of the league-ref conspiracy nuts: the refs are trying to give the game to the Stars by keeping the Habs on the PP.
Seems like the Stars are starting to play down to their competition.
Scalpers must be ready to hang themselves.
I love it.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
Another PP, lets see if we can go into the 3rd even.
This team has no identity. Cannot play tough, cannot play the trap, cannot play high tempo and cannot play 2 man pressure. In other words cannot play.
This team is pot luck and has run out of luck a long time ago.
Oh, it has an identity… Just not the one you’d want to win in this league unfortunately.
wow… that was the best play I’ve seen from campoli in a Habs jersey
Campoli saved our bacon there.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
Power play??? we need to take a pass on them the rest of this season.
Michel Bergeron said something interesting earlier today: for a while now the Habs organization has been getting rid of so-called unidimensional, i.e. Offense-only players. But when they talk about unidimensional defensive players, they praise them to no end.

Many of our players are in another dimension
Randy is going to tear one of the players a new one on Wednesday he did not look happy on RDS….
Has he ever looked anything else than not happy?
â– â—Œ â– â—Œ â– â—Œ â– â—Œ â–
Scouting is subjective.
I know they’re not trying to tank.
But it sure looks like they are.
So what does it say about a team that looks like it’s tanking but is trying not to?
Really brutal. This team only has 3 defenders who should be playing north of 10 mns. PK, Gorges and Emelin.
Kaberle should only see time on the PP.
They have 12 men who should be playing at the North Pole
With the polar bears.
Richard R
Here comes a PP goal
Randy Ladouceur likes a microphone in front of him.
Sounds like I havent missed much…
Great road game by the Habs. Taking the fans out of it.
Nice… +1

“Andrei Kostitsyn will be traded this month”

I’m going for a root canal…Less painful than watching this.
Trivia question….When was the last time an NHL owner was
tar and feathered?
When this regime finds a few bonafide goal scorers we may be respectable again. When is the last time we had a 35 or 40 goal scorers? They just keep missing the net or right at the goaltenders. Going on only one goal in the last 5 periods at HOME. Just brutal.
“take your time and hurry up”
Weber and Diaz and Kabs and Campoli… are out of their depth.
But it’s Price’s fault, right?
I guess we’re going to need to shop for some defencemen in the summer.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
P.G is sure to find somebody at Walmart…Perhaps a door greeter.
I think the gov’t subsidizes half their wages if you hire a senior citizen, not a bad idea.
No freaking doubt.
If you guys would actually watch kaberle in his own zone, you’d realize how awful he is.
Imagine 3 Months ago Kaberle wasnt even in our plans. And then PG had this brilliant idea……….
Yet still better than Weber, Campoli, and Diaz, and if you’d watch him in the other two zones you’d realise he’s worth it.
“Andrei Kostitsyn will be traded this month”
- Sean Bonjovi
Wow. Kaberle was useless that sequence.
He looks like he might have the flu they were talking about.
His shifts aren’t long, and he’s dragging his ass.
Really struggling.
(and before I get a bunch of wise-ass responses, he looks worse than usual)
—Hope Springs Eternal—
He is out of shape, he needs to lose about 10 lbs. If he puts his mind to a rigorous off season strength and conditioning program, he could once again be a good player in this league.
Winnipeg has won 3 in a row, and their next 6 games are at home.
Go Jets!
ak46 benched again?
Cole’s pass was a bit off for Bourque, needed to be a bit to Bourque’s left.
noticed that also, just a little too much inside.
I miss Spacek

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Price must ask for a trade tonight! His career will be nothing here …
Loll.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
Bourque’s a little frustrated.
Like seeing the fire in Bourque.
He’s got to put one in tonight.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
Maybe Bourque will get inspired now.
GET KABERLE OFF THE POWER PLAY!!!!
Why? It was a horrible pass by Subban.
True. But an NHL player is expected to control that pass.
have you been watching the entire game? How about the last 20 games?
Sorry, no good on the PP, he has done nothing to fill the void
So, who will be gone by this time next week?
Gauthier.
Cunneyworth.
Gainey.
Molson.
One can only dream.
Love it, big Pony back haunting TO. 3-2 Jersey.
Refs must be feeling sorry for the home team.
Habs employing the same boring uninspired strategy that was so effective in securing the loss against NJ.
Bed time.. I have seen this story 1000 times before
nice play by emelin to join the rush and let the pass go through him to Gomez alone on the other side. reminded me of Lemieux-Kariya at the olympics… except its not Kariya scoring its scott gomez lol
Gomez really ripped that one, why go top shelf corner when you can shovel one on the ice into goalies pads
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
He can’t put it in

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
I think I heard Gomez and then a Post get hit.
Let’s just thank the Hockey Gods Big Sheldon isn’t in the lineup with all the point shots on offer… Ouch!
Fearless predicition: Robidas will score.
Habs are saving their energy for the late playoff rounds.
Gomez still on the powerplay. Well I guess he has to play at some point.
–
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
He’s one of our top PP scorers at the moment.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
I guess 100% of his 2 goals are on the PP…..
nice pass Gomez
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Well, I’ve got to say, that at least looked like a powerplay…
—Hope Springs Eternal—
White for what that is crap
That resembles English.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
Why did P.K. pass up a great shooting spot to give it to Cole, standing basically on the icing line/
The season is already done..mot watching anymore and Toronto just scored
So Gomez draws a penalty, is that good, or should he blamed for that as well.
Edit: If Dallas scores shorthanded, i am assuming Gomez to blame.
RDS guys are saying flu bug is affecting multiple Habs
Germ warfare before the Tanks roll in.
LOL, that is funny. well done.

Now it’s the fans who are barfing.
All year!
This season can’t end fast enough.
I think Diaz has taken a step back in recent games.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
The 7D system can’t be good for a rookie. Not only is he trying to learn the NHL game and players, he’s getting less ice time with different partners.

http://sportsfitnessetc.blogspot.com/2005/08/hockey-story.html
I am digging deep to find some positives:
-DD line is still effective
- Emelin will be a star in this league in a few years if he keeps it up
- Price was solid
That’s it. Otherwise, horrible lines, listless energy, weak defense, too many passengers.
New Jersey is still beating Toronto, that was all I could find.
Edit, Emelin is incredible, he just flat out loves to hit people.
Haha, that’s about it.
