Liveblog: Rangers and Devils win Game 7s, move on to semifinals

Martin Brodeur moves on in the playoffs.
Rookie Adam Henrique scored  his second goal of the game 3:47 into the second overtime period to give New Jersey a 3-2 win, ending Florida’s season.
The Panthers, playing in front of their hometown fans in Sunrise, had rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force OT.
New Jersey will meet Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

Credit the Ottawa Senators with an absolutely heroic effort.
Trailing 2-1 in an elimination game, the Senators played a spectacular third period at Madison Square Garden.
An eighth-place team that was out of the playoffs a year ago can hold its head high.

Are the Senators and Panthers inspiration for the Canadiens?
Let’s hope so.

It was a spectacularly entertaining game.

Full credit to the Senators. They gave the Rangers a ferocious battle.

And for the first time since 1996, the second round of the playoffs will have ZERO Canadian-based teams.

The Rangers will play Washington in the semi-final round.
