It’s that kind of season.

Michalek: Sprawling stick save

And they say there’s too much diving in soccer! I thought they were supposed to call simulation in hockey … Perhaps too hard for the refs to spell
Bishop was outside the crease!
except karlsson had been called for diving at least three times..Price not so much..
WTF. what a load of crap this game has become.
Refs losing control of this.
I DO NOT understand why that wasn’t called a trip there. And I almost always support the refs.
embrace your hate…
Wow! This officiating is to die for!
“…to dive for”
Fixed it for you.
Completely outside his crease. Do these idiots refs not understand what Goaltender Interference is?
You moron. Refs rarely let that sort of thing go. If the goalie is in a reasonable position to make a save – which he was – they almost always give that as interference.
People want consistency from the refs, and that’s one areas they often are consistent.
way to go cement head….what a joke..Karly dives..now Markov gets goalie interference
Where the hell did they expect Markov to go?
Like it or not, the NHL calls it that way. Goalies get the benefit of unhittability in those spots.
Markov wasn’t shoved, and, under the current state of calling the game, he has to know Bishop is there, and not run into him.
Refs should be allowed discretion and realize Bishop was way out of crease and Markov had no evil intent.
You did. Chapeau to you, Kim!
Oh god I’m in stitches after watching that replay, Price giving Neil a bit of a tickler there.
The hockey game is interrupted for a diving competition

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Anyone, myself included, who called Karlsson a diver, has to call Price a diver there, too. There’s no way Neil shoved him THAT hard.
Make up call.
Ok, even.
Price sell that a bit?
Full Breezer 4 Life
Told u …someone needs to take out Karlsson
I think that’s a scenario where you can call both. Cole shouldn’t be whacking away, but Karlsson shouldn’t be acting like that.
Diver!
Dive.
yep…

As per usual, a bunch of non-calls followed up with a total BS call.
In games they fight, Canadiens are 9-7-1.
Is it me our there is zero reason to report that stat? Does this mean anything?
Boone thinks there is a chance it will boost comments/page views?
Don’t know why he’d think that, ahaha
Full Breezer 4 Life
Again, anyone know why Montreal is in white tonight? Boone?
Since they play better on the road, and they have fans everywhere they go, maybe they’re trying to trick the players into thinking they’re playing a road game.
Yes, thats the first thing I noticed. Maybe Ottawa forgot their whites…
It is Heritage Night for Ottawa, they rode the train to Montreal, sporting fedoras, asked the Canadiens if they could wear their 3rd jersey, Canadiens agreed (according to TSN before the game started)
Fun first period. Great goal and celebration by Cole. Didn’t care much at all for the goal against. That was bowling show ugly.

Agree with that, Elle. Was reacting to Barts’ comments about the first D pairing, which has been facing the best line of the opposition all year and doing a decent job.
I think this is Campoli’s best game as a HAB. He isnt the greatest defensively but he is playing a great transition game tonight.
don’t kid yourself Alfie (assclown) is dirty…i thought for sure Neil was gonna get it..only to see it was Niko fighting..hopefully in the second..
Sens fans complaining that Cole high fived the ref…they are such losers..somehow i think if it was one of their players they would think its cool…
That high five is the coolest moment of the year.
*Listen to my instrumental tribute entitled “Habs at War” at http://web.me.com/ptolias/Music/OtherOriginalMusic.html
The first D pairing has been great over the last 15 to 20 games, Subban and Gorges have been + players over that period and allowing few goals. Every d pairing will concede some goals, ok.
ok, but as a whole, our D is badly built. Not the kids’ fault but management’s.
I wonder if Cole will get fined for his high five.
Shanahan is reviewing…
Probably. He wasn’t wearing a Bruins jersey at the time…
I wonder if Neil can whistle? ha
Alfie playing dirty too.
Price is one of the rare goalies that has to make point blank saves game in, game out.
Oh, looks like Bourque is back in the line up. A good chance to see him play, I guess.
easy come..easy go.. oh wonderful..love for assclown…barf
How embarrassingly bad is our defence? No system whatsoever. And that’s your ‘top 2′ on the ice there kids. Anybody miss Kirk Muller? Perry Pearn? How about Jacques Martin? The coaching staff should be shot.
Usually we don’t blow the lead until the 3rd.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
We blow ‘em all game long. We lose in the 3rd.
The story of our season. We led for :26 secs.
The D is in the net and where is Carey?
Sharing your bong.
The Habs were just standing around…
Agree there, with their hands in their pockets. I’m not a Price fan but they did leave him out to dry.
Lol, great.
We have the worse D in the league.
bah take a look at Toronto, then come back and say that.
They have terrible goaltending, hard to tell.
They have both. Bad goaltending and defense. Good combination.

When two rookie D are out and your team is really hurting because of it, you have bad D.
Yes, hope management fixes this during the summer.
Cole high fives the ref…
Cole with the highlight of the year
Did anyone else watch Cole on the replay? He gives a high-five to the ref after scoring.
Cole high fives the ref!
and he high-fives the ref!
I love Cole. High five to the ref. lol
Cole is gonna get 30 too! Screw draft pick!
Erik the Red! Erik the Great, or just Cole Train!
Not a big zero on those Ottawa uniforms just a big bullseye!
Here watching ice caps and bull dogs. Not much to get excited about on the farm. Boy the bull dogs suck.
Nice job holding his position by Price there.
thats right we should take out Pizza head instead..i would love to see him floating up the ice…and WHAM!!! PK hits him with one of his beauties..

Who coined the phrase “two solitudes”? Was it Hugh McLennan?
Full Breezer 4 Life
Any chance the Franco community present just wanted to make sure the Anglais would be able to hear the announcement also?
I was being nice Adid…lol…I was sticking up for our Max
Uh Oh does Ottawa have a goalie for the long haul finally?
Ottawa has a goalie or two that have been hot this year, but they’ve had that in the past. At one point fans across the league thought Emery was a career goalie in Ottawa.
Heh, that 2-on-1 was all in reverse. Patches should have fed DD right away for the return feed for the finish.
Kimberly, be nice!
Nice to hear the crowd salute Markov there! He is going to be a huge help to this team next year.
Someone needs to take out Karlsson
Looks like it’s going to be a long night of b*tching about the refs.
When is it not for you, Jim?
Why is Montreal wearing the road whites?
i see the senaturds are wearing those ugly jerseys with the big giant zero on it…
Plecks probably laid down for a nap and overslept
ya!! TSN and Mike Johnson…one less irritation…GO HABS GO!!!
So Tomas Plekanec slept in did he? Great.
Anyone know of a feed for the game tonight?

I get what you’re saying, Cal. But winning games now is not really winning. Our fate is decided for this season. Winning now is more likely to have an impact on next season (by bringing less good of a pick)
Think about it. Will you feel better about the season if we win the rest of our games? Everybody would think they’re winning because the pressure is off and wouldn’t know what to make of the good streak. And that would screw up draft position

NEW YORK – In a move that caught many by surprise, the National Hockey League is making a major change to this summer’s entry draft.
All 30 teams, not just the 14 who fail to make the playoffs, will have a shot at claiming the number one pick, the league announced today.
“This idea of holding a weighted lottery among less than half of the league’s teams is just so unfair,” NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daley said, “and the NHL, as everyone knows, is all about fairness.”
There is one catch to teams taking part in the lottery. They’ll have to pay to play – $50,000 a Pick Tic™. Each team may buy up to 10 tickets to put in the draw, but cannot win more than three times in the first two rounds.
The league will distribute 20 per cent of the Pick Tic™ revenue among the non-playoff teams – “to invest in better GMs and coaches,” Daley said. The balance – “80 per cent,” Daley said – will be placed in a new pension fund for league executives.
“The players have a pension fund built from gate receipts and television contracts so why shouldn’t the people who look after the big picture,” said Daley, who headed off questions from reporters by making clear he was being rhetorical.
General managers for the non-playoff teams were upset that their chances of landing a top prospect were being diminished with a system that would also add to their cost of operations.
Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke was livid – “livider,” according to one reporter – while Montreal Canadiens GM Pierre Gauthier had “nothing to say” about Daley’s announcement, but pointedly didn’t add a Mister.
Daley left before he could explain why the league was acting in haste, saying he had a private plane to catch.
Boston Bruins owner Jeffrey Jacobs, the only owner to show up for the news conference, said: “It is what it is.”
What it is, say insiders, is a brazen move to keep the Stanley Cup in the hands of American teams. Anonymous sources say league officials are worried that, if Montreal grabs a top five pick, it could result in the team winning the Cup in two, maybe three years. They aren’t worried about the Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers getting high picks because, “well, do I really need to explain,” said an insider, who didn’t make clear if he was being rhetorical.
Is this for real cause i’m gonna scream if it is? LOL
