I checked my PVR and I believe him. He didn’t appear to be trying a shot, just a pass to the blue line. Maybe not the best decision under the circumstances but in the end, no harm done and he learns a lesson. I was too quick to condemn him earlier.

Win or lose these days will not make any difference. The most frustrating things watching this team this year & the last few have been: a) not playing a full 60 & b) too soft in front of our goalies. Opposing teams take liberties with our goalie because they can knowing how soft our defence & forwards are. I hope the new coaching staff coming in next year changes this crap because with the number of games we have blown this year when leading, puts us as one of the top teams in the Eastern conference.
Refereeing sucks ass. A hook any time during the game is a friggin hook that should be called. This game had no business going into OT as Max Pac was hooked not once, not twice but three times during the same play. No wonder a lot of people are losing interest in the NHL.
That 4 minute Gong Show at the end of the game said it all about this team. Not much more needs to be said. Seen it many times this year with slight variations. But this one was of epic proportions…Chase the puck, no physicality, panic, then collapse.

Yeah, I think the team really loses it when things start to go south. They really do start chasing the game, and the puck. You have 4 guys looking/going after the 1 guy who has the puck with the D standing around uselessly in front of the net.
Price is partially responsible, but most of the goals have the puck going from one end of the ice to the next and on net because the D aren’t pressuring anyone.
The smell of fear and panic was palpable even mid 3rd period.
You could just see the tie coming!

Lots of changes needed on this team..too many players on the team that are okay if you are starting out as an expansion team but not for a major franchise like the habs..

I don’t ever feel that a game is totally under control with Price. He is a solid goalie, great puck handler, good legs, but man, does he ever give up soft ones in EACH GAME. Rare are the Halak-esque games that he steals for us.

If indeed, Gainey, or anyone higher up, insists on “forcing” you to do all sorts of moves that you are opposed to, then you should resign your post.
You can’t get paid to be in a position of authority, and then willingly give it all up, even to higher ups, and expect to be held blameless.

It may be the only way anything can get done in MTL. The amount of scapegoating that happens to the coaches and general managers in Montreal by the fans is ridiculous. If he hired a coach and a gm just to be the puppet, the front man, the fall guy, just so he could do the real work that needed to be done for an extended period of time. Hysterical win. Tonight was a demonstration of how terrible the Habs can play. Even if they are up 4-1 it doesn’t matter. That 4th goal against was horrible.
Wow – that Setaguchi wouldn’t look out of place on our squad. Perhaps PG can pick him up in the off season and then he could skate on a line with Gomez next year.

Well that was fun. We humiliated ourselves, melted down, blew a 3 goal lead in 3 minutes, and then ended up with 2 points that could prevent us from getting the help we desperately need in the draft.
