A game that was totally under control heads to a shootout:
What a nightmare season!
DD: BACKHAND SHELF!
• Who’s really coaching the team?
I say Price takes a shot at the open net.
Right you are. Only thing is he scored on his own net.
Hey, people, that was not Kaberle’s man … is this the first game you’ve watched or what?
Even Kaberle was like, “Dude, that was soft …”
Full Breezer 4 Life
nice save Price!
Campoli and Kaberle, there’s a surprise. Throw Weber in there and you’ve got the three f’n stooges.
We need guys like Kassian
Campoli and Kaberle….A lousy Italian meatball recipe.
More like a soft sausage sauce on limp pasta.
how about Campoli sits on Sat night
Shush Boone! No jinxing.
Not very good defensively…
to quote HNIC, “Campoli is useless there”
Oh man the dreaded Campoli / Kaberle pairing……
Third period meltdown time??? :O
Don’t let the wultures getcha.
Markov looks good skating in practice
ability is what you’re capable of doing.
attitude determines how you do it
Minnesota should just take a knee and get out of here.
For our crappy team next season I’d take a 4th line centered by White, winged with Staubitz and Blunden.
I am confused. What is this leading in the third period thing? Don’t they know that winning jeopardizes our chances for the #1 pick?
*Listen to my instrumental tribute entitled “Habs at War” at http://web.me.com/ptolias/Music/OtherOriginalMusic.html
Price got the memo.
Heyy CC wake up try keeping Cole on with Pleks. This will give you two lines and teams can key on your top line.
Watch this team go on a late season meaningless winning streak, finish 10th-12th, and end up with yet another crappy draft pick.
We’re going to fail at failing.
So can 459 560 fans that have been begging Montreal management to bring some size and toughness be wrong ?
I believe Geoff Molson should fire every clown who said you can win without size and toughness from his organization….
I think you mean Gainey
oh hell yeah. Team toughness comes from having 2 or 3 tough guys makes the other 13 tougher. Gainey forgets that Lupien, Chartraw and Bouchard made things a little easier on Lafleur, and company
Gainey fought his own battles when necessary. No shrinking violet, he.
agreed but you have to admit that Bowman recognized that he needed to get tough really fast in order to beat Philly and Boston.
In respect to Gainey the player, everyone was getting bigger and he went the other way.
This is Minnesota.
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
Is it crazy to think that the major chemistry of the Cole-DD-Max line is between Max & DD? They had chemistry in Hamilton, and with the Habs last year before Cole. If they could produce with a different winger…pairing Pleks with Cole may help the team have 2 lines that work well. I liked what I saw between Plekanec and Cole tonight on that 4 on 4.
Newfoundland’s biggest Habs fan. Hands down.
you cant mess with the magic of the Cole-DD-Max line
I would like to see the coaches give a guy a pat on the back noe and again and say” good shift ” .Positive re-enforcement
Most likely out of any chance for a playoff spot, but if the Habs play the rest of the season as spoilers, I’ll be satisfied.
Gomez is out, he suffering from a large blister on his ass.
Is this the most disjointed game of the season?
“Gomez to the room”…
Sounds like a post-trading deadline trade is in the works!
Maybe Gomez is in a cab on his way to await a trade
one can only wish…
Gomez is hurt?
Yes, his feelings.
He just found out people were booing him.
So next year:
Pacioretty: 30 goals+
Desharnais: 20 goals+
Eller: 20 goals
Cole: 20 goals+
Gionta: 20 goals+
Plekanec: 20 goals+
Bourque: 20 goals+
With: Top 5 draft pick (2012), Leblanc, Beaulieu, Ellis, Tinordi, Gallagher
a real 4th line: White, Moen, Staubitz
The future is bright. Patience.
Are you selling RRSPs?
You might be onto something… but the prospects have to pan out
No injuries, please!!!!!!!!!
Uh Oh Gomez hurt
its my birthday on Monday so Saturday we are going to Le Cage Aux Sport to celebrate..I am so excited…
Sign Staubitz to a deal.
i wish we were playing gomez 3 minutes a night since the start of february.
i know its been a long week but did he just say Jed Clampet? as in the Beverly Hillbillies?
Les boys better watch each other… Going to get REALLY wild now….
this game is fun… But we MUST win on Saturday
Jekyll and Habs …
watch the fights now
chippatood…what kind of word is that..has Healey been listening to McGuire?
I wasn’t expecting to have this much fun tonight.
ET LE BUT!
Too bad there is only about 25 of us here tonight eh.
The best are here. 😉
White is infectious.
The refs get 100% of the blame for turning this into a fiasco.
They need to immediately start sending everyone to the box for anything and everything.
yes i think your right..firetruck..I have a nice red firetruck do you?
I get the feeling Staubitz will be getting a few shifts to finish the game.
Parade to the box this game.
White was not annoying they, they were taking liberties knowing he cannot take a third major! Blake stood up for him there!
Weber in a shoving match … what the hell is this.
I do believe Mr White was using some swear words…i could be wrong though..he could have been saying i am fine and you?
I am guessing FiretrUCK, I only heard the F and the UCK however.
Mark Hunter……Ryan White reminds me of Mark Hunter !!!
Looking forward to a full year with White next year.
I just know Moen is dieing not be able to be out there. Love White now that my kind of player.
The boys are being selfish tonight. Sure if it feels good to beat the hapless Wild, but it will only hurt the organization in the long run.
Don’t watch then. Team is playing for each other finally, it is the Best thing in the long run
“man, I love winnin’; you know, it’s like better than losin’?”-
Ebby Calvin “Nuke” Laloosh
How will my not watching get us a better draft pick?
I believe he was being “snotty.”
Can’t we all just get along??
Hey Bill you missed the first couple periods, scrappy fighting game, we fans are now taking on the personality of the team 🙂
missed about half the game…so why is it so nasty and the goofs on CBC said we have 2 fowards out..who are they? From what I have seen its been a crazy game…love it
No explanation for the nastiness. White and some MN goon dropped the gloves literally from the opening faceoff.
The refs have been total crap, they’ve caused it to escalate.
I effin’ LOVE Ryan White. I think the extra grit on this team is rubbing off on everyone.
What a beautiful man Ryan White is. Sincerely.
finally a team with balls.
Pleks surprises me tonight… in a good way
Great to have Ryan White back in the lineup!
Mr. White using some “F” words there.
Just knowing they have a Staubitz has given the whole team courage. (balls for the commoner). Am I allowed to say that? 😉
White’s been the guy stirring things up the most.
haha, brilliant , those lucky commoners.
Has anyone noticed how P.K seems to have regained his confidence and swag the last few games? Playing with the flash that makes him special while limiting the mistakes. Loving it when he plays this way he raises the compete level of his entire line!
last few? He’s been great the past month.
Post 666. Comment of the beast …
I think the coaching is letting him play his game… teaching him when its best not to take chances… at least that is what I hope. he’s more effective playing his way
Whoever made up Emelinator. Kudos!!! That one will stick.
+1 Great name for him.
believe it or not it just came to my mind when I put it in the post lower down … lol not sure if it was made up before but yes I am that awesome person as far as my knowledge goes 😀
Dude it’s going to be all over the Internet soon 🙂
Alexei the Emelinator
I’ve heard it before, but don’t remember who said it. And so by the power invested in me by the power of Internet, I now grant you gloating rights.
That’s Bettman’s NHL Boone……
Just got in from my jam session.
We’re f$!#ing winning??
Yes sir !
Crazy game too !
Habs, OLE !
sort of…we are losing 2 points and two of our RFA guys have scored…not really a win at this stage but fun just the same
Man, what kid of a raise is Pacioretty going to get after next year? He’s gonna hit 30 goals this season. In today’s NHL, that’s mega-bucks.
It’s a “WILD” game. Yuk yuk.
But it really is. They’re playing like it matters. Bodies flying everywhere. Plekanec’s hammering guys, Cole did a somersault over Emelin. Insane.
Listen to the Smart Dog. He knows his poop!
You have missed a complete different Habs team tonight Bill, Full N.A.G. in effect! Well maybe not North American, but you get my drift.
Where is HabsProf anyway? Did he go join a blogging site in protest of Gazette writers and people making fun of his predilection for obscure stats or what? 🙂
Personally I don’t like the idea of tanking. I’d much prefer to see the police cars, ambulances, fire trucks and cars sporting Habs flags on their antennaes this April. It’s makes Springtime in Montréal a lot more interesting, and a lot more invigorating.
Kaberle on the pp is like sandpaper on hemmeroids.
Ummmm….. oh I get it. Painful. Yes he is that. Kaberle on our team is painful. Giving something away to get Kaberle on our team… mighta cost us a playoff position.
Mikhail Grigorenko: There had been whispers over the past month that all may not be wonderful when it comes to the scouting world’s perception of Grigorenko’s competitiveness, but the whispers have grown into full-blown skepticism in some circles. “He could fall right off the map,” said one scout who asserted that his club won’t be considering him in the first round.
“He doesn’t want to compete. If he’s there at 25 and we are picking, we go by him.”
His concerns were echoed by another eastern conference scout who insisted his team will not select the talented Russian no matter where they end up in the standings. “He’s a dog. Take a look at what games Grigorenko gets his points. He gets a handful the other night against PEI. none at Moncton, and one assist (in the nationally televised game) in Saint John. A couple of weeks ago in Rimouski he’s minus 6. He scares the (crap) out of me.” While there’s no denying his skill level, and his 73 points in 39 games as a QMJHL rookie are a testament to his offensive abilities, there will be a lot of teams watching him closely in the playoffs to see whether he has the competitive streak scouts like to see in their top five prospects. As of right now a number of teams have several players ranked ahead of him, and that trend will continue if he does not learn to compete at a higher level.
From Mccagg on tsn’s website
But then, maybe the guys crapping on him are hoping he is still available at 25 and are working to make it happen.
McCagg says Timmins won’t pick him with our first pick.
Forsberg might be.
I wanna see Emelin destroy clutterbuck with a clean hit. And i wanna see baby boomer get a goal
No way White should get anything. How many times have our players been hit the same way especially by the Bruins. Hell Jeff if they suspend White. Go out and sign three goons for the Leafs. The Broad street bullies are gone . So now it ‘s time for the Bell Center Maulers.
I agree, let’s goon up for the remaining games. Why not?
The NHL won’t crack down on goons unless we get some. If we start beating the crap out of the league, a la the Bruins, then suddenly the NHL will stop it.
Emelinator I love it
Did elves come long ago in the night and stitch him a reputation for being a PP quarterback?
Because he sure as hell isn’t one. For every useful pass he makes, there are at least five times that he coughs up the puck or causes an off-side.
And he brings NOTHING else. No shot, no physical presence, no shot-blocking. Only the elf-made new clothes he ended up borrowing from the emperor (and which obviously impressed Gauthier).
He exasperates me more than Gomez does.
Ok, I’m sitting down now.
I’ll pull a Boone and declare Mr. Kaberle won’t be a Hab next season.
in fairness he made a career of setting up a big shooter on the other point….our pp is ass backwards at the point. Kaberle played like Markov on the point….he makes the pk respect his cross seam pass and opens up the right point…in Montreal thoguh our only shooters from the point are all righties…it just does not work…and we don;t even have a right handed forward threat down low
I’m sure you’re right, and I’m not blaming Kaberle for our terrible pp (which was terrible long before he arrived). I’m just looking at someone with a great reputation for passing who constantly coughs up the puck.
And I had calmed down a little…
So here’s my impersonation of Emelin
Possible d-pairings for 2012-13;
Subban – Emelin
Markov – Diaz
Kaberle – Gorges
Could be worse. Much worse.
You have to split PK and Emelin…makes entering the zone dangerous on 2 shifts
I think you need to let him loose. Let him be the player he is. Pair him with a monster stay-at-home partner and it’s almost like you have a 4th forward.
That would work.
I think that was the intention….We need a big tough dman or at least a heart and sould guy who will step in for PK or Emelin. If we were to have Moen and White in the lineup, Blunden and a tough dman to pair up with one of them…I think we are tough enough.
I think we’re a lot tougher than we were at the start of the year, but I don’t think you need anyone to step in for Emelin. One of the forwards you mentioned can step in.
The boys from the CBC blames the Habs lol and the CBC joke continues. The Wild is just plain, playing dirty Slap shot hockey. The refs side with anyone who is not a Hab. I love it, we need three more goons and let gets it on. This team have been screwed all year by the crooks in strips. As the saying goes if we can’t beat them on the ice. They lets them in the alley.
