Liveblog: Quelle honte!

Happy Leafs

Were those your real Montreal Canadiens?
If so, see you at the draft lottery.
Shut out 6-0 in their own barn.
Dominated in every aspect of the game … including the moronic fights.
2012 is back!

Next game at the Bell Centre: Philadelphia

Comment of the night from Novahab: I guess the league has figured out MT’s system faster than Subban could learn it.

Whoever ’2habs3′ is, I suggest you actually WATCH a hockey game. Also, I presume that you’ve completely missed the current ongoing debate as to who should be Canada’s goalie in the 2014 Olympics. Of course, these media pundits only express their opinions for a living, and do not possess the expertise of ’2habs3′.
Perhaps you should look at the recently published statistics which list the top 5 goalies – 5 on 5 – over the last 5 years. Price was # 1, Luongo #2. Compare the defense and team that Price had in front of him to the Canucks in front of Luongo. I hope that these FACTS are not too complicated for you to absorb. Clearly, your hockey IQ does not allow much room for clarity.

Sick of Cole and Desharnais at the moment. Eller, Galchenyuk and Gallagher deserve more ice time.

It has been quite a night here.. LOL love this place

Been preaching to the choir for long enough. Eller has been better than DD all year. Desharnais is struggling huge another -3 tn. Cole brutal as well. Eller’s time to get top 6 C minutes. DD can sit a couple, he’s been that bad.

    ———————————

Lars, PK, Galchenyuk, Pac, Emelin – @J_Perez22

  6. ooder says:

pleks, galchenyuk are both better then Desharnais. Even the way Eller is playing is better then DD (weather it be on the wing or centering two 4th liners).
One can argue that Eller has more potential then DD given the chance, due to his size and strength.
The fact that teams are focusing in on him really exposes him. Doesn’t help when you have a completely useless winger in Cole. Looks like someone spent a bit to much time crying about the evils of the CBA instead of focusing on the season.
Gionta is also playing like trash, completely stupid game of skate in and shoot.
I actually think our D is not bad at all, just a bit tired because they are forced to chase around a bit to much (doesn’t help when the centers can’t win a face off to save their life)

  7. montrealtilldeath says:

Canadiens best centre tonight Lars Eller. Solid effort a 3 periods. Never quit,

  8. montrealtilldeath says:

Could it be that the players did not like White being publicly thrown under the bus like that. Players do not like this kind of action as they could be the next choice for this type of garbage to cover a coaches own deficiencies, I still feel he did what he was sent out to do.
White did not lose that game either. The coach did. Our coach did not call a time out late in the Buffalo game. Rupp did. Up 4 to nothing Randy C of the Leafs called a time out early in the 3rd tonight when he thought he saw a little bit of slippage. Our guy again called no time out and left Price in when it was clear the game was out of reach. Shades of J Martin.

The dude that’s what i just said. You should ask Bob Cole if you can borrow his glasses. You been watching the habs for 50 years that should make you about 70. So settle down grandpa or the next thing bob Cole will be giving you mouth to mouth.. haha Its all in fun.

    Embarrassing effort.
    We stunk.
Leafs – no class. Putting JVR,Kessel,Phaneuf on 5-3 when up 5-0.
    Never mind the goons.
Everyone all over Cole on 2nd goal.
He took the face-off because DD was tossed. Again
    DD -3 tonight.
But I’m sure he will get more time next game than Eller.

    • jedimyrmidon says:

If the Leafs want to run up the score because it’s been forever since they’ve done it, okay, sure, go ahead. Really sucks for the Habs, but the point of the game is to score goals so, sure, go ahead. I agree, not much class, but that should be the least of the Habs’ worries.

Classless is Orr trying to blow up Plekanec’s knee (Pleks being 10^12 times the player Orr is) and Grabovski biting Pacs. I keep repeating the same thing over and over again… those two items really get me riled up.

And yeah, Eller should be tried as a Top 6 center. Or Galchenyuk.

  11. jedimyrmidon says:

This just makes me dislike the Leafs even more. It’s usually just an annoyance, but when they resort to dirty tactics in a blowout just shows their lack of character (character being a positive thing, goonery and attempts to injure is not character).

They’re winning convincingly on the scoreboard, and – since that’s so extremely rare – they take the opportunity to try and injure the opposing team, indulging in after-the-whistle activities. Talk about getting carried away.

Imagine if the Bruins did that in their 7-0 or 8-0 pasting of the Leafs last season. It’s surprising how low the Leafs are willing to stoop with Orr and Grabovski.

Let’s go back to Hockey and help Therrien regroup his new linelups.

Bourqe-Plecky-Pachy (testing a top line with everything)
    Gionta-Eller-Cole
    Gally-Chucky-Prust
    Moen-White-whoever

Subban-Gorges (they should be Habs D-signature, Markov no longer can carry the loads)
    Markov-Emelin
    Cube-Diaz

    • jedimyrmidon says:

It’s amazing to think that the Pacs-DD-Cole has actually become a ‘serious’ problem. Cole is dragging down the team with his lazy play, and DD with his general ineffectiveness.

It really is time to blow that line apart (and put Eller at center in an offensive role!).

I bet you were wrestling wolves and when they we’re done with you did you need therapy ;) ,I’ve been following the Habs for 50 years”their my boy’s” AND I’M sick and tired OF SOME Ahole coach and G.M. “WHO KNOW BETTER” ENDANGERING MY BOY’S…Leaf’s have 4 heavy weight’s ,habs 0= I want to thump the crap out of coach and G.M.!

  19. 1010 says:

Remember folks: The Oilers have been picking in the top 5 for years and the jury is still out on whether or not they have a playoff team. Point is, you can wait a real long time and still not have the product you wanted in the end. It`s the deals you make on the way, along with the picks, that make or break the time spent waiting. Personally, I`m sick of waiting. It looked like Gainey was putting something together a few years back- remember, the promise of Higgins, Komiserik, the Kostitsyn bros., the pusre snatcher, etc. etc.- and they turned into a mirage. I`m tired of this patience sh*t. I remember when winning was a given.
I really wish the fans would have left the building early in the third period tonight. Now that would have been a message for Mr. Molson.
I agree that it`s better to finish 15 than 9 but really. This SUCKS.
And I have to go to work monday and listen to fans- of the worst frachise in the last ten years- brag.

GO HABS GO, GO HABS GO. We need Danny and the Dutchman back. Please.

  20. Stormin says:

You get penalized and or suspended when there is no intent involved but contact was made.. Colton Orr’s run does not need any intent to be proven it is in the video, he attempted to injure and destroy another players knee.I can not wait to see this explained by the league seriously, this deserves a huge response from the league and the NHLPA should be on board with any discipline for anyone going after another players Knee.. Intent is in the video replay, do not have to know what he was thinking just because Plekanec was skilled enough to avoid him.

Ps Grabacula deserves 2 games for eating Italian on the ice, and to be embarrassed and ridiculed continuously throughout the league upon his return..

  21. jcsun01 says:

No offensive punch, the defense is small and Price is not the second coming of Ken Dryden. Prust can’t do it alone and White was out again. Giving MT the head coaching job was a mistake. A move made based on politics and not hockey. Larry Robinson was interested in the head coaching job….So maybe is it time for LT and/or Patrick Roy. Might be difficult to figure out head coach / assistant but count the cups and consider the passion no to mention credentials…what does MB have to lose.

Just when I thought it can’t get more pathetic, Berkshire over at “Habs Eyes on the Prize” creates a thread and invites Leafs fans to celebrate there.

Well, it’s Sunday arvo here in Sydney, I’m off for some sun, beach volley and surf. Have a great night everyone in Canada.

  23. habfaninyyc says:

Agree, Gionta doesn’t have anything left in the tank. Cole should retire, he said he was unhappy with the new CBA and it’s reflective of his play.
