Liveblog: Kings win 2-1 in OT, draw first blood

Eight minutes into overtime, Anze Kopitar scores a spectacular breakaway goal to give Los Angeles a hard-earned win.
The Kings are a mind-boggling 9-0 on the road in the playoffs.

Colin Fraser and Anton Volchenkov had scored during regulation time.

The game was not a classic.

Each team went through long periods of not being able to generate a shot on goal.

Kopitar’s winner – a brilliant individual effort – was the consequence of errors by defencemen Marek Zidlicky and Bruce Salvador, both of whom were caught up ice by the Jason Williams pass that sprung Kopitar.

L.A. outshot the home team 25-18.

Hits outnumbered shots and were 44-35 in favour of New Jersey.
