Funny how Pleks high sticks an opponent and gets a two minute penalty. Yet he takes a stick to the face and nothing. The refs saw it, because he even came over to check on him. Habs getting short changed again by the officiating.

Sorry, but am I reading this correctly? People seem to be saying that although Gomez was not at his best yesterday in his first game back after a thirty game layoff, he is playing better today now he is in his second game back.
That can’t be right! Clearly people were right to abuse Gomez mightily yesterday for failing to be immediately at his best….

Few people, if any, want Gomez to suck. It would be awesome if he were a good player again. I’d happily take the one who played here in 2009-10.
What irks people is when folks like you proclaim that he is somehow better than others and is deserving of his ice time. You think you have found some argument that Gomez is a more effective player than desharnais. There is no such (sensible) argument.
Well, we disagree. I believe (and I am not alone in this) that Gomez is substantially a better player than DD. Certainly there is absolutely no comparison in their relative stature in the league or careers.
I defend Gomez for no other reason than that he is irrationally and unfairly belittled here.
And I critique DD for no other reason that that he is irrationally and unreasonably over-praised here.

What’s pleks +/-? When you’re playing a ton of D Bob Gainey style it is can hurt your offense.
We are still missing a big #1 center, and it’s not fair to hang Pleks if he’s getting worn down doing two jobs. And if other guys are getting points, how is that a bad thing?
Desharnais has done everything asked of him, we just need to put some nasty guys with him to create space and let him go.

Yes Pleks would be great for Ducks. Plek would take Koivu’s role if not next year the year after when he and Selanne retire.
For the record, though, they don’t need PK, they have Fowler and Vishnovsky (both of whom are terrific but very young).
Who they need is a Craig Ludwig / Rick Green type to manage their own zone.
Unfortunately, so do we. That said, Bobby Ryan is a potential game breaker and I’d take him in a second.

I know it may be coincidence but it sure looks like Cammy may have been having an effect on the team and certain players. Since the trade the players seem to have woken up and for now at least are skating and playing a more aggressive game.

The way to the cup is thru Boston ,the Ranger got a head start on us with that Gomez deal but it obvious that getting bigger is the only way

Eller hangs on to the puck too long. On a 3 on 2 last night became off side. And a 2 on 1 with Moen he elected to shoot rather than pass. He does this alot in other games as well. Must learn to be more of a team player. Maturity will fix that.
