Just to chime in on the “I’ve loved Lars Eller longer than you” theme…
I picked Eller in a hockey pool in 2010-2011 before he had played a regular season game for the Habs.
My man crush goes back to the Halak trade. My initial reaction was to wonder why the Habs essentially made a trade for the minimum of what they were likely to get from an offer sheet, plus a couple of years. In looking into it I realized they (Timmins?) specifically wanted Eller.
I have always seen him as a potential Kirk Muller/Trevor Linden type player which is my favorite kind.
As i type this he scores his 4th of the night on a penalty shot.

Again, this is the type of potential people have seen out of Eller for over a year. Now he’s finally starting to get rewarded on the scoreboard, but he’s been playing great all year.
If you go back and watch the 1st round from last year, an argument can be made that Eller was one of the 3 best forwards on the team.
Cheers all! A fun game to watch. This is hockey, and it’s been a treat to watch tonight.
I love Eller, he’s one of my favorites on this team, but realistically, he has 7 goals this year. And Moen/AK did all the heavy lifting on goals #2 and #3.
I still love the guy, and love the hat trick, but just sayin…
