No Ilya Kovalchuk?
No problem.
New Jersey dominated the home team – the Flyers went 18:30 without a shot on goal in the second period – and got three unanswered third-period goals by Adam Larsson, David Clarkson, Travis Zajac and a 180-foot empty-netter to stun Philadelphia.

P.K. Subban is on his way home from the World Championships.
The Canadiens’ defenceman sustained a “minor” knee injury in an exhibition game against Switzerland.
He will be examined by doctors in Montreal on Wednesday. Initial estimate is two weeks off skates.
Subban, on Twitter, says he’ll be O.K.

There are problems in Nashville.
The Predators have suspended our old friend Andrei Kostitsyn and recent KHL emigré Alexander Radulov for violation of team rules.
The dynamic duo are rumoured to have violated curfew on the eve of Game 3 in Phoenix, which the Predators lost to drop two games down in the series.
Quip of the Day: Apparently “bedcheck” and “backcheck” translate the same in Russian.
Runner-up: Looks like Radulov finally found a way to silence critics who were saying he doesn’t take enough shots.

Yay!!! Finally a GM.
Go Habs!!!
NorthTOHab
Congrats to Habs nation !!! Eat heartily, Bergevin. For several years you’ll dine in hell. I think we got the best one available. Not an unproven one but had yet to get top billing so still hungry for more.
Hope Brisebois would hop on board as Asst GM. We could use some forward thinking calculations, although Kaberle and Gomez might tend to disagree.
If Roy isn’t confirmed yet, seriously we need to make a run at Babcock. McGill alumnus, proven winner, Detroit should be in for a serious overhaul next season, a change in scenery might be welcome.
Aaaaaaaand, most importantly: we want ice girls !!!!!!!!! There. I said it.
Please Fat Santa, make it happen !!!! Marci !
Is there a double standard with regards to russians boozing? Like when canadians do it=boisterousness, and when russians do it=disrespect. Has Shayne Corson ever been suspended for boozing? Cause I remember Demers sharing a few stories about Corson…Or maybe back then was a different time.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
Bit of advice to Bergevin: at your first press conference, hand out an endless supply of cookies!
The process was exhaustive, political, and absolutely BRILLIANT. Mr. Molson and friends left no stone unturned concerning French candidates so as not to let themselves get hammered in the French press. Now they have answers for the question of “Why didn’t you interview so and so?” Ahead of the curve, ahead of the storm, and door shut tight.
Then you had the self promoting media man McGuire and his fellow media promoting minions. If he was soooooo good, he would have had a GM job a long time ago. Molson talks with him, picks his brain as to media perception, buys him a Kobe steak, and says thanks. To you McGuire lovers, he is a lone wolf and no leader of men that would garner respect. You let his pretty cliches get you off track of what a GM needs to be.
Win-win for McGuire. He gets his name thrown around and that results in better credibility for his NBC bosses and American fan base when new contract time comes around.
Too bad it’s not finished and only starting. A certain segment of the Quebecois media will be foaming at the mouth. What? We can’t slag the Canadiens and can’t rough up the choice, but wait! Ahhh the Patrick Roy for coach factor hasn’t been played yet. Yea, sharpen those knives if the wonky, loose cannon Saint isn’t the choice.
The french media are more cruel to francophones than anglophones. The sports media never are happy, a happy column without criticism wouldnt generate any interest.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
Who said anything about cruel? It was only about process
Wow wakeup and we have a new GM. I think I like this choice, he certainly has a well rounded background.
I suspect Mr. Carriere may be hanging around the front office to help with Cap stuff and other things.
Now onto the next two questions,
*What will Serge Savards role be going forward?
*Who will be the Head Coach?
Carriere is an outstanding hockey man with huge experience plus he might be the only one left that knows where all the bodies are buried. In his time behind the bench, he probably figured out the cheaters from the real deals. I say this team is going to have a big face lift.
IF the Chicago Tribune is accurate, I say good for the Habs. Really glad Mr. Clean is out of the picture. He can stay on tv and spout “Monster!” and research junior players and tell us all what they had for dinner.
Best of luck to Bergevin in the aftermath of one of the Habs worst seasons ever. There’s only one way for the team to go, and that’s up.
Now, it’s time for the “Who is the coach” question to be answered, and not by HIO posters, though they be all knowledgeable and everything.
there’s something to be said about a tv personality who’s job is colour commentary and has nothing to do with junior hockey, yet is well beyond anyone else in knowledge of junior players. is it just a hobby of his to follow around all these juniors? i mean, he gets paid to cover nhl games, what could he possibly benefit from researching so much about junior players… c r e e p y
Thats a bit unfair.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
Incredibly interesting that Bergevin and McGuire were the ONLY TWO canidates given follow up interviews after having an initial phone conversation.
What to make of that??
Either they knew who they wanted from the beginning…or there just weren´t that many qualified candidates out there (which would not bode well). Surprised someone like Loiselle didn´t get a follow-up.
In any case, I am glad Savard will be there to advise the green GM for the first couple of years. Say what you will but it is a plus having former habs around of that stature. He´s our only remaining link now to the glory of the past. From now on the next GMs will all be outsiders. Not their fault. But having guys who wore the CH on their sleeve and were part of that winning tradition is a huge plus that i fear will be missed down the road. Bergevin has only been an assistant GM for one year. Not long at all. Still, probably the best candidate out there.
do you have a source about the whole ‘only two candidates’? just curious.
Michael Farber said only Mcguire and Bergevin got lengthy interviews.
Wow.
GM Bergevin
Ya know ….if ya rearrange the word Predators it describes the move that Nashville did today by suspending their 2 top fwds.Ignore the P and the rest of the letters spell out retards. What a bunch of retards to kill themselves of any chance of winning this series.Bravo,retards…bravo.
“If ya ain’t wasted, the day is!”
hey retardo, there’s an o in predators
Hey assface, you’re ugly.Too ugly to have an avatar.
…..You’ll never get to heaven if you’re scared of getting high…..
Well good luck to the new gm and mr mcguire you lost out again….’sigh’…only time will tell …..i guess.
“If ya ain’t wasted, the day is!”
Excellent. Exactly the choice I wanted. Fantastic.
Craptacular,actually.
“If ya ain’t wasted, the day is!”
you actually wanted mcguire? the last thing montreal needs is a gm creeping out the players he’s trying to sign.
I actually wanted my friend RETARDO to be the g.m.But he fell to 3rd in the running.
…..You’ll never get to heaven if you’re scared of getting high…..
I am very happy with Bergevin as the GM. I think the man is as qualified as they come and definitely has that X-factor that a GM requires to do good in Montreal. If you haven’t watched them yet you can see some insightful, up and close interviews with him on RDS.ca
He seems to have a tremendous amount of respect for the Canadiens’ organisation and every time the Habs came up he responded in a near religious manner…
two quotes that I particularly liked:
- When asked how he would feel if one day he is named the GM of the Habs, after thinking for a bit he responded: “Ca serait une hommage!”
- Also, he was asked whether he ever though he would play for the Habs when he was a player, he said: “Not really… Because in my mind the Canadiens have always been a special team and I never thought I was good enough to play for such a legendary team! ”
He is a smart hockey savant and has an undeniable passion for the Habs. He played almost 1200 games in the NHL in 20 years and is a winner. He was a great team mate and knows what it takes to put together a championship team.
Welcome to Montreal Mr. Bergevin and I hope to see you raise that cup again in the near future on the Bell Center ice.
Surely it wouldn’t be a homage. An honor maybe.
–
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
I keep waiting for a front page update…
It’s going to be really embarrassing for HIO if they only put this story up at 7am…
Welcome M. Bergevin, new blood is exactly what was needed… The Gomez contract be yours to hold it high.
It hasnt been confirmed by the habs though, could it be a rumour thats gotten out of control?
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
…difficult to know how to feel about the Bergevin decision …don’t know Him …or, the other candidates for that matter (as GMs)
…and, We won’t ‘know’ Him until the rubber hits the road
…I guess I’ll form an opinion, one way or other, …by October
…but, good this issue is resolved and He will have a head-start on the many other issues critical but hopeful of a ‘winning’ new era for Our beloved Team
…the word ‘winning’ will be the ultimate criteria, one way or other, We will measure this M. Bergevin

A perfect situation for a young GM to step into… Cap room, good young players, a few more in the pipes, a zillion draft picks next year, a team that is much better than the 15th it finished in the East, and of course the wise tutelage of Serge Savard to make up for a lack of front office experience.
If it wasn’t for the Montreal pressure, this would be a dream gig!
Marc Bergevin is a great appointment. The Canadiens are on the way back. Let us hope he gets unqualified support from fans and media as he sets about restructuring the team and its operations.
So I can’t sleep.
I grab a glass of water and head to the PC.
Canadiens hire a GM!
Nice!
You know you’re a true fan when your sub-conscience says “hey Shane, wake up, Canadiens News!”
So my son has BP for the first time this season. This is our first season and I’m one of the coaches.
I haven’t pitched a ball in over 20 years.
My shoulder is killing me, and I am having nightmares about one of our players crushing a ball through the pitching guard. He’s a Killer and of all the kids I’ve seen could be a future MB national player.
Anyone miss hockey? I don’t. Normally I’m pretty excited from the time the Canadiens season is over until the draft and on to pre-season.
I don’t have that feeling right now and that’s good. Too many other things to keep a person occupied.

Yup, while Mike Boone was chirping about what a great day yesterday was because Manchester City beat Manchester United–how pathetic is that, taking pleasure in a loss by a team that is better than his own Liverpool–he was getting scooped by a Chicago reporter on the appointment of the Canadiens’ new General Manager. What does that say about the Gazette’s relationship with the Canadiens, that the Canadiens would let a Chicago newspaper scoop their hometown newspaper on news the entire Canadiens fan base has been waiting for?
Meanwhile, earlier today Liverpool lost to Fulham, who gained their first victory ever at Anfield on an own goal by a Liverpool defender. In that I take no pleasure. It is sad to see a once great team flounder around at mid-table, behind even their great rival, Everton, the best team in Liverpool at least for the moment. My condolences, Mike. I guess we all have horrible days like the one you’ve just had at one time or another, although it must be even harder to take when it follows what you described as a great day. I hope you’re at least enjoying some sweet dreams before you find out you were scooped on the off-season’s first big story. Better luck next time.
Probably means that something as innocuous as a Bergevin travel schedule which detailed being in Montreal for a presser was left on a desk in Chicago.
Bergevin may have in his excitement himself leaked this to a reporter friend.
Nothing to do with being scooped but more to do with being in the city where the major player has been working!

Nonsense. The Gazette was scooped, whether it was a leak by Bergevin or not. I was a newspaper reporter for several years many moons ago. Good reporters cultivate their sources and rely on leaks. Why was there no leak to the Gazette in the city of the team that did the hiring?
This is not investigative journalism just reporting!
Hardly doubt the Gazette or any non-local print media has the resources to keep people following a “sports” story exclusively out on the road in multiple cities.
Except for maybe National Inquirer or the Star who maybe had a hockey fan digging through the Tribs garbage skiff looking for references to alien landings or Celeb gossip and stumbled onto this!

Bergevin, hopefully will pick his own staff to his liking and I really hope that he has the strength to tell each and every one of the L’antichanbre know it alls to report the news not try and manufacture it.

Besides playing against each other and being native Quebecois, they never played or worked for the same organizations. That mentioned, Roy would be a questionable choice at best.
It is one thing to coach 16-19 year old teenagers that are easily intimidated and impressed with a god like figure, something quite diffeent to coach today’s multi millionaires. He is also a loose cannon, and you would have to wonder what would show up after proper character due diligence and some independent professional vetting that does not include his head cheerleader Bertrand Raymond.
Then the trust factor. Somehow I get the impression if things didn’t go his way he would a) take his ball and go home or b) complain and throw some combination or all of his players, management, and ownership under the bus
You mean again don’t you?

Chris,
Lets hope that if the Bergevin story is legit that he decides the coach not the media!
The media made a concerted effort to get one of their own into the GM chair hopefully that has failed!

Chris,
I have become very contre the hiring of former players in hope of reigniting the teams of yesteryear by osmosis.
If, the Canadiens have succeeded in hiring a GM outside the old mold it surely is a time to bring in also a fresh view behind the bench.
Whoever becomes the new Headcoach of the Habs faces a few tough years which will feature many young players learning their way.
Ancient history has suggested that Roy is not the answer in that environment due to his mercurial personality.
As far as Larry Robinson is concerned he appears to be calm enough to weather the upcoming storms without becoming or needing to become the center of attention.
Hot as hell last couple of weeks here as well.

Too funny. It’s already up on his wiki page
Marc Bergevin (born August 11, 1965) is a retired French Canadian professional hockey defenceman. He is the General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens.
That whippersnapper is way too young to be the GM of the Canadiens. By about three weeks or so.

By Chris Kuc
Tribune reporter

The Montreal Canadiens have selected Marc Bergevin as their new general manager, according to a source.
Bergevin served as assistant GM for the Blackhawks under Stan Bowman during the 2011-12 season. The 46-year-old Montreal native will replace the fired Pierre Gauthier.
Bergevin spent seven seasons in the Hawks’ front office, the last as assistant to Bowman after being named to the position June 15, 2011. A former Hawks defenseman and one of the NHL’s all-time pranksters, Bergevin also held various other positions with the team, including Director of Player Personnel and assistant coach to Joel Quenneville.
It’s the second consecutive season the Hawks have seen their assistant GM land a top job elsewhere as the Winnipeg Jets hired Kevin Cheveldayoff as their GM following the ’10-11 season.
nice scoop… most of HIO asleep by now i guess except for those of us on the other side of the planet! (or those breaking curfew!) will be interested to see if it proves correct…
Posted this a while ago…
The very best candidate that has everything – proven through his playing career and management career, and answers the sensitive political questions is 46 year old MARC BERGEVIN
Whatever you do Mr. Molson, find the BEST HOCKEY MAN-a mature hockey man that can lead people and make decisions. You surround him with other hockey men with complimentary experience and then go out and hire the dime a dozen lawyers, accountants, capologists, power skating experts, psychologists, pyramid power gurus..We don’t need a lawyer from Tampa.
Other side of the planet? It gets pretty lonely for hockey talk here in Korea.
“I don’t wanna see Maurice tonight, I want the rocket!”
i came on because i heard something about them making a decision on tsn but didnt see who. must be the reason i couldnt sleep tonight. im too tired to think about this now. wake me up when patrick is coach.
Nice work Gumper, you get the HIO scoop AND credit the source. So ethical and all, and if it’s later shown to be false, you can disassociate yourself from it. Props.

When one parks the emotions, and when one applies the simple concept of Decision Making 101, he was the only logical choice. The probable X factors for Mr Molson were character and a proper vetting similar to that of a US Presidential candidate if not more
ability to make decisions-comfort level and ability to trust-an ability to lead men and command respect-shared but not necessarily exact philosophies-ability to communicate and understand the clientele
I had a minor man-crush on Julien BriseBois, loved the way he attacked his career, from the start he wanted to be a GM and went about it by going to law school first. Smart guy. Having said that, I said before that I would trust the selection committee’s decision, they are the ones with way more info than I have. Mr. Bergevin is obviously a terrific candidate, and he has my full support.
———————————
How about it NHL? No fighting, just hockey?
http://relentlessineptitude.blogspot.com/
Perhaps one day Brisebois will be a GM, yet any 35 year old does not possess enough, or depth of life experiences to run a multi million dollar business that is scrutinized to the nth degree 24-7-365. Patience, smarts, and other factors we jumble into the word experience is learned through years of learning and mistakes.
We will never know if he really wanted the job at this point in his career, yet 2 young children and the potential pressure on them also had to be a factor. He is in a great spot now. Another 5 years with Yzerman, and he will only be 40 with a better maturity level and wealth of experience

Darren Dreger had been categoric at trade deadline day: there were no buyers out there for Andrei. Usually they hedge their bets, throw in a lot of possiblys and maybes, but on this issue he was short and to the point. So for us to trade him the the Preds for a 2nd round choice was a minor coup for Mr. Gauthier. It was the only destination that made sense. If he had been scoring, the story would have been different, a few teams would have wanted him, but he was ice-cold since January.

Hmmmmmmmmmm

Chris,
Sure sounds more like Molson is leaning towards a talking head who in his own mind is perfect.
…and whose hockey operations credentials are at best 16 years out of date if you include a 7th place finish in the ECHL and subsequently being shown the door!
A contender whose major cred is a nepotistic relationship with his college buddy the team owner!
Who also has the taint of having been fired by the Ottawa Senators! Sound familiar?
A disaster/catastrophe waiting to happen!
So when Bryz plays poorly the Flyers win. When he plays well, they lose.
This will only confirm their bizarre notion that goalkeeping doesn’t matter.

I wish they’d stop showing this Lanny, Flames Cup crap… I’m still pissed about that night cuz that same night the Expos acquired Mark Langston from Seattle for Randy Johnson, Brian Holman and Gene Harris.

I know, aurghhhhhhh
Could not agree with you more on all counts. Still hate Lanny, still wish he never won a Cup.
Lanny scored his first & last career goals in the Montreal Forum -
Useless trivia I know but it’s stuck in the brain have to get it out from time to time……..
Now THAT brings back memories.
Gets me thinking about Mark Langston in front of the cameras, juggling the endless questions about whether he would sign / stay in Montreal …
ALWAYS Habs -

He freakin’ bolted ASAP, the wuss.

To be fair, the Angels opened up their wallets quite nicely (as they did with Vladdy, and most recently Pujols)
They probably keep showing it because it was the second to last time that a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup since 1986.

@Zorro, here is a brief story on the DeCastro story, sorry he thought Ben was the secretary, HAHA even worse!
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/steelers-draft-pick-thought-ben-roethlisberger-team-secretary-145225540.html
He thought he was speaking to secretary?
I’ll bet Ben was not amused.
…how do people get that big ???
…I remember I was staying in the same hotel years ago in Waikiki Beach hosting the NFL Pro Bowl Teams …I’m not the smallest Guy in this world, but I felt like an ant next to hippos

Genetics? Steroids?
It would be “funny” if the Devils do what the Pens couldn’t.
Whoa! 2-1 Devils! Was a snoozefest until 3rd
David Clarkson! Stud player!
did you hear the devils after the goal.. fcuk yeah, whoohoo.
I would love to get a direct feed with audio from the benches and near the goals.
That would be awesome….
I would pay for that feed, especially in playoffs.
Have you seen 24/7?
No I’ll download it at some point
If anyone wants to know when to watch hockey, it’s definitely the first round of the playoffs. 2nd round is usually boring, 3rd the team are tired and the finals are interesting only if you have a love or hate for the 2 teams left.
I think my evening would have been less stressful if I had just posted that those fricking Russians Radulov and AK were boneheads….
(Yes I know I just Called the Belarussian AK a Russian)
Capusta heads. (the only Russian word I know)
Belarussian, Russian… Kansas, Arkansas… potato, potahto… Lownebrau, Heineken… Habs fan, Leafs fan… same sh*t, different pile.

…very ironic with PK burning huge NHL minutes in super intense and rugged NHL play to be injured on His first shift in international hockey against a pint-sized Swiss
…life is funny
…PK’s game depends on His wheels, and that ‘little’ knee injury may be the beginning of something to ruin His career …I pray not

Subban already did a couple of tours of duty as member of Team Canada at the WJC.
I thought the guy he hit was some sort of huge.
I really wish there was a way the Habs could get David Clarkson!!!
We’ve got Ryan White + Brad Staubitz + Michael Blunden…
They equal David Clarkson.

Minus about 28 goals, I think Clarkson got 30 this year.
Those three combined will never get close to 30 goals…
That was my point.
The Habs pay and play three when they only need one.

Agreed! A tough guy that potted 30 goals this year. Tough combination to find.
Happy hour has begun!
well lets see how much he indulged in between periods
He’s running up a tab at the bar, apparently.
…and the suds continue to flow..
Just in from Washington, DC… dit dit dit
Apparently Semin is spitting mad at being held out.

Finally, some humour.
Sorry L, weird had a great golf game this afternoon as well!
Golf good: HIO bad
LOL
Just needs to rise to the occasion and get into someones face.
hehe, nice
Canadiens have decided to fly PK Subban home from Europe.
They want to make sure his MCL (Montreal Canadien Life) is fine
Oh yeah! Behind the bench next year, Big Bird,Coco Lemaire and Capt.Kirk! And my 6/49 numbers come in!
WOW.. What a staff eh. Wont hapen though… Muller aint coming back to Habsland I dont think.. Been hurt too much.
I like the love for Ovechkin. I really feel for him re Hunter… not saying Hunter is right or wrong…. just think Ovechkin gives his all. Maybe he needs to learn defense but the guy sacrifices his body every game.
Hope it works out for him and Washington. They are my sentimental favourites for the Cup. And I also kinda understand Hunter’s methods…. kinda.
That’s it. I want Andy a the new GM. She knows hockey, knows everyone in the game, knows how to read a prompter, and that dress…yes, Andy for GM!
***Subbang Baby!!!***
Must be TV, my loss!
To those looking at Robinson and wishing…
I do remember the last big celebration in which Savard was involved with the HABS. It must have been the 79 cup win or a game in that series. Savard was stradling the boards sharing hugs with other players.. cant remember who they were. I know it was on home ice caused they were wearing white and in those days you wore white at home.
Robinson was skating past the scene heading to the dressing room. Savard reached out his huge hand and grabbed Robinson and pulled him into the scene. I absolutely remember this and the feeling of gladness I had.
Tried to look up the facts to get story straight but saw where Savard played his last two years with Winnipeg Jets.. decided not to read anymore. But I do rememebr the secene I described.
So maybe with Savard back involved we would have Robinson back in the fold. It would be great.
…a perfect summer will include Robinson ‘comin’ Home’

While I am glad he won’t be pushing it with that injury any more, i feel bad for the guy also.
Hopefully this is an injury that heals itself with no lingering affects. We CAN NOT afford to lose him to injury.
Another tweet from the PeeKster: For All Fans asking about injury, it was minor and will heal in 1-2 weeks #nobiggie

Thanks! Good Luck P.K. Have a great summer and stay healthy and safe and smart. HABSNATION needs you and our other youth core.
Thnks for the updates Smiler, good news it sounds like. CBC made it sound like Montreal made the decision to fly him back and call it quits on the Worlds. Given all that is going on with the Habs these days, I hope this doesn’t become an issue. Okay I am becoming a worrier I fear…..
I dont care who says or feels what. I was silently saying to myself “someone in habs step up and get him home”. Good move.
@HIB/Gerald
…I was anticipating Our Habs making a play for Parise and Radulov this summer …so You aren’t the only One here wondering what was I thinking on Radulov Gerald
…this may influence the draft considerably as well …I would put My money on Edmonton selecting Ryan Murray, Columbus going for Galchenyuk or Forsberg, leaving Us a choice between Yakupov, Grigorenko, Dumba/Forsberg et al
…Yakupov is Muslim and unlikely to have a drinking problem …but the potential KHL factor chills Me short and longterm …seems He wants to play in North America, but still a nervous risk

I agree. Personally, I would opt for Forsberg.
Over Yakupov?
———————————–
In a word,yes.
I think every team should have at least that one good dependable Swede
Thank you, Don Cherry!
I want Galchenyuk more than Yakupov or Murray, but I would be happy if we had to settle for Yakupov. The fact he came over for a couple years of Junior to me speaks volumes. I will be in touch with my buddy this week who plays slopitch with me and coaches in the OHL. The first question I will have for him is what he thinks of Yakupov and Galchenyuk, will keep you posted.
Steelers got a good one in DeCastro.
Did you hear about his phone call from Roethlisberger? Pretty funny, yah he looks to be a big stud lineman for them. About time they got some lineman. I have to say I wish this past summer Rooney had told Rapelessberger to fly a kite and sign Manning, but will always be a Steeler fan, just don’t respect the guy at all.
No,didn’t hear about phone call.
As far as Roethlisberger is concerned, a tiger cannot change its stripes.
So the Steelers had Roethlisberger call DeCastro to welcome him to the fold, took him a few minutes to figure out who Ben was, thought it was there Media Co-ordinator.
If he thought he was speaking to Media Coordinator, that might not augur very well for his career as a Pittsburgh Steeler.
…Galchenyuk & Dumba are My two top preferences …with speculation Carey play hardball on His contract, would be nice if We can ‘steal’ Malcolm Subban somewhere in this draft …would be quite the show with both PK and Malcolm

How do you think Carey Price would feel if Habs drafted Malcolm Subban?
…first great the brothers both on Our Team …would be a great story
…second, hypothetically, if Carey ‘wants out’ if He can not get immediate big dollars, then it’s in the Canadiens interest to have a Plan B

It’s also interesting that, apparently, Carey Price & PK Subban are best buddies on the Habs.
Price is 7 years older than Subban. No direct competition

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
I want Galchenyuk too but my buddy thinks his knee injury is a big warning sign

If the KHL is such a threat, why isn’t Yakupov already there? He could be a millionaire in the KHL already if he wanted.
Why would Edmonton waste the 1st overall pick on Murray, when they could just trade down 1 or 2 spots, gain an asset, and pick him anyways.
Yakupov is the best player in the draft and it’s not even close. He WILL go #1 overall. You never draft for need with the #1 pick, it doesn’t make sense.
