Anyone notice Emelin is playing more and more every game. He’s up to over 20 minutes a game now and hovering around 25 shifts. Is he turning into Mr dependable. He’s still making mistakes but it looks like he’s starting to fit into the NHL
Another good game tonight – they’re allowed to play now – don’t have to sit back and hope the other team makes a mistake – big game coming up tuesday – keep playing the way we’ve played the last couple of games – we can pull off a win over st. louis – good job by the team tonight and – a good job by the coach.
as for Gomez return – easy one – 4th line – don’t disturb anything when your’re winning.
My plea.. enjoy the win. Praise the guys and the coach for an entertaining game.. they gave it their all.
IGNORE the protesters! Stop the name calling. Just like the thoughtless people who chose to be in the protest tonight, it cheapens the efforts of all the noble peope who have dealt with this issue at a trying but respectful level.
I see a different team in the last couple of games. Since RC had a chance to put in his game plans. I like what I see . I am still trying to figure out what JM game plans were. Those who r protesting r not Hab fans if they were they would be carrying signs do not get of RC.Hab fans have to stand up for RC. Molson got to listen us we r the ones who pay the money
JM game plan was to take a lead if they could, then play ropey dope the rest of the night. And with 3 rookie D in the lineup early on in the season that simply did not work!
What was up with the ice tonight? Guys were flopping around when no one was around…
Gotta give props to my man DD again. Amazing to think this kid who was never drafted could show up First Overall Vinny and his superstar mates… and still come out ahead. Props to you DD. All doubters be eating crow now!
Is there any truth to the rumor that the protesters were not french. They were paid by the CBC to keep this going. Is this a plot by the CBC to say, see we have to show the Leafs every Saturday night across the country.
AK was the first star, Emelin second. Two best players on the ice by far.
I’m going to feel physically sick if they let AK walk, or give him to Nashville for two guys that end up playing part of a year for us before management realizes we’ve been fleeced in the trade.
The Bruins looked like they might finshed at the bottom this year and look at them now. Our Habs lost in the 7th game in overtime and if they got a break the Bruins would have been gone. They done that with out Markov and Patches, and some real one sided refing. Is this a sign they could be ready to make a run.
I’m telling you the Bruins better not get too cocky. They must feel they are invincible right now, but they have peaked too soon. The Habs may squeak into eight spot and face them again for a rematch.
That’s why I said in earlier posts to pickup Orr on waivers when they had the chance for pennies on the dollar. Would have been cheap dollars and maybe the policing we needed in case we make it back into this. A 4th line of Blunden Orr and White maybe giving them 7 – 8 minutes a game at the right time! And you tell Orr your here to police and we don’t care who you police!
Many fans are saying it but apart from the TWO wins, this team has been playing hockey which puts the ENTIRE TEAM on an improvement curve and gives us fans a taste of the skill quotient on the team.
Is PG going to apologize for a non french coach winning 2 games in a row and making hockey for Hab fans more exciting than it has been for the last 2 years under a French coach. kiss my a– PG
A group of about 200 pro-French protestors staged a peaceful demonstration in front of the Bell Centre before the game! Were they all wearing pink panties with a sign saying “STOP Cunnyworth” because they couldn’t spell stop in French! What a disgrace to the French people!
Maybe those french protesters after seeing the Habs win tonight, the placards that they took and left have the inscription “Go Habs Go!” which means, that’s the only phrase they know en anglais.
in all seriousness, how could RC even think of messing the the top 3 lines. JM would, but RC won’t. I think you’ll see Gomer on the 4th and let him try to earn a higher spot.
Gomez is better than Nokelainen. I suspect when he comes back he will start as 4th line centre, and will get PK duty, but will likely move around depending on results.
Probably?! He could team up with either Darche w/ Nokelainen as a winger or White when he returns. If push comes to shove, they should be able to get Leblanc or Blunden position as a 13th forward.
Considering what system RC has in place when it comes to 3rd period lead protection,it must have killed him to stand on the bench as an assistant and watch what JM wanted to do and how many points it cost us in the standings.
I am wondering now, will Gomez be a completely different player under Cunneyworth. He seems to have done wonders with AK, wow he like a whole new player. Looks like Cunneyworth has released the Krakens.
Someone from the language police got into the locker room and got to Carey. Came across this on Twitter: Price’s simple response to an aggressive reporter:”I’m sorry that I’m not a francophone. I’m just here to do my job.”

GO HABS GO! 2011-12 is probably not our year!
Chat with me on Twitter @TheRealRGM81
Did I see two men forechecking late in the game how can you not love Cunneyworth. Still I stand by this, no way would you ever see a french speaking only coach in the NHL and never in Toronto.
I don’t mind the Habs not making the playoffs this season as long as I get to see youngsters like Eller, Pacioretty, Subban and Desharnais develop even more.
Did I just hear the amazing old goal song played during this game?!?
When did this come back? Is it permanent?
I can barely contain my excitement, love this one! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfTpGKJqROY
I’m happy the Habs win tonight. Its good that they can make a statement to those idiots rallying outside the Bell Centre that their hullabaloo is nothing short but falling to deaf ears to all Canadiens Fans.
Conan: Almost 20 years of pitiless cumber! No rest, no sleep like other men. And yet the spring wind blows, Subotai. Have you ever felt such a wind?
Subotai: They blow where I live too. In the north of every man’s heart.
Conan: It’s never too late, Subotai.
Subotai: No. It would only lead me back here another day. In even worse company.
Conan: For us, there is no spring. Just the wind that smells fresh before the storm.
a couple of things. 1) was there a better time for a win than tonight to jam it down they ridiculous protesters yaps 2)Where are all of the people who were bitching and whining about how PG got ripped off with the Halak trade and how stupid he was etc etc. Show yourself. Maybe, just MAYBE these guys know more than blogging armchair fans ? It is turning out to be a brilliant trade. Eller looks poised to become the big center the Habs have craved for years
They can buy a Coors Light beer since they Habs won. No wait, Coors is a partner company with Molson. Maybe a Budweiser would relax/chill their anger. Wait again! That Bud’s not for them! Its an anglophone company! wazzzaappp!!!!
Great to see them not staying back on a miniscule one goal lead like so many previous games. Still think some shooting practice is in order, too many shots right at the TB crest, along with missing open nets
As much as we all go mental, no team has ever won the Stanley Cup in the regular season. Get healthy, make the playoffs, have a kicker who’s in a grove and you can make some real noise.
At the moment, those frackers have nothing else to do but to cheer for the Habs win tonight since they don’t have a Nordiques team to cheer for, buuuhuuuu!!!!!!
a good momentum win…anther strong game by eller..and ak46 please keep your play going and dont go into playing solid for a few games and disappearing for ten…plecks line brutal in their zone…
“Corson’s Big Suspension: The NHL suspended Corson for 10 games during the 1991-92 season for leaving Montreal’s bench to start a fight with 4:10 remaining in the third period of the Canadiens’ Nov. 2, 1991, game vs. Buffalo. Corson had come onto the ice as a sixth skater after referee Don Koharski had called a delayed penalty against the Sabres’ Colinn Patterson. Corson, however, charged right at Buffalo’s Brad Miller, starting a fight that led to a game misconduct. The 10-game suspension was automatically assessed due to an NHL rule that punished players who came onto the ice with the intent of fighting.
The Habs might introduce a 5th line so that Gomez can play and not mess up the current lineup.
My plea.. enjoy the win.
I just hope Molson don’t give in to these idiots.. Hab fans have to stand up and get behind RC>
All Hab fans should protest in front of the Bell Center for Randy. I will drive up fro NB if we can organize it
I like RC. But to get Gomez going would be a miracle…and he’s not God. Gomez is not a good fit for the Habs.
Did anyone notice we played with 11 fowards and 7 defenceman :S
Quelle arrete de carey price!
he has done that for 2 games it has worked
I see a different team in the last couple of games. Since RC had a chance to put in his game plans. I like what I see . I am still trying to figure out what JM game plans were. Probably, I assume the CBC rigged the whole melodrama right from the get go.
By the way, weren’t there more folks picketing outside of the Bell to keep Kovy on the team?
AK was the first star, Emelin second. Two best players on the ice by far.
I’m going to feel physically sick if they let AK walk, or give him to Nashville for two guys that end up playing part of a year for us before management realizes we’ve been fleeced in the trade.
Yes sir.
I’m starting to like RC and his approach to things lately.
Habs, OLE !
Maybe Randy will instill some game ethic and emotion into Gomez. Maybe just what the doctor ordered!
The RC system plays to the team’s strength which is speed.
No let up in the third period. Pressure in the offensive zone means less pressure for Price and Habs D.
Makes sense to me.

Sure looks like the Martin System is dead. Long live the RC System.
Regardless of what we are told, the actual #1,2 and three lines are
1. MaxPac-DD-Cole
2. AK46-Larry-Moe
3. Gio-Pleks-Camm
What do we do when Gomer returns? Put him on the wing on the forth line?
*Listen to my instrumental tribute entitled “Habs at War” at http://web.me.com/ptolias/Music/OtherOriginalMusic.html
Replace Pleks with Gomer. Sorry, I’m sure this comment will get me kicked out of here, but that’s how I see it, especially with the “new” system.
You know something Gomez may benefit from this new style.!
But then who sits…
It’s no secret Gio and Gomer have chemistry. I would like to see them re-united under this new regime, at least for a few games to see how they do.
lol…ridiculous comment.

lol I knew it wouldn’t be popular…
Dump Gomez to the minors or buy him out. If Cunneyworth could have the same mentality as Tortarella’s on Avery, I would applaud him more for that.
The Habs have a system that’s working. The least they need now is a liability like #11.
Edit: it would be sweet if we could trade him for a Bobby Ryan. I’m not saying it will happen, just hypothetically – haha!!
in all seriousness, how could RC even think of messing the the top 3 lines. JM would, but RC won’t. I think you’ll see Gomer on the 4th and let him try to earn a higher spot.
The Darche/Nokelainen/Blunden worked well as a 4th line. I don’t see any benefit at all if Gomez is going to do centre there.
Gomez is better than Nokelainen. I suspect when he comes back he will start as 4th line centre, and will get PK duty, but will likely move around depending on results.
I think Nok is better on the draw. Maybe when white come back a line of Gomer-Nok-White might be interesting.
*Listen to my instrumental tribute entitled “Habs at War” at http://web.me.com/ptolias/Music/OtherOriginalMusic.html
Probably?! He could team up with either Darche w/ Nokelainen as a winger or White when he returns. If push comes to shove, they should be able to get Leblanc or Blunden position as a 13th forward.
Sorry. Double
i actually thought AK was 1st star, but whatever, the whole team played great!
Me too, but Max did have two points, one the game-winner.
Considering what system RC has in place when it comes to 3rd period lead protection,it must have killed him to stand on the bench as an assistant and watch what JM wanted to do and how many points it cost us in the standings.
We are now in 12th place…things are looking up…yipee
I am wondering now, will Gomez be a completely different player under Cunneyworth. He seems to have done wonders with AK, wow he like a whole new player. Looks like Cunneyworth has released the Krakens.
I’d like to see how it would work out with Gomez.

Gomez !
Agree. I really think Gomez has played his last game for the Habs. Trade or Hamilton.
lol
Did I see two men forechecking late in the game how can you not love Cunneyworth. Still I stand by this, no way would you ever see a french speaking only coach in the NHL and never in Toronto.
lol of course not. How could you communicate with your players when 99.99% speak English.
We r starting to see how a real coach can do with this team. Molson better be seeing this
I don’t know who is going to represent the habs at the all-star game but im pretty sure Cole has to be a top choice for us don’t you think?
I would agree. Been are most consistent player. My second choice would be Gorges.
Emelin, Eller; long term deals, asap.
The nerve of that Anglo Cole stealing Desharnais’ goal at the end!!!
I don’t mind the Habs not making the playoffs this season as long as I get to see youngsters like Eller, Pacioretty, Subban and Desharnais develop even more.
It would be better for them to get further playoff experience.
good little interview with Blunden on CBC

Eller and AK were amazing again
Yeah, thankfully the count won’t split them up next game
The only thing better than two points is two pints!
dont belittle the 4 points, these were two HUGE wins!
Oh, I agree with you entirely. A run of regulation wins is what this team needs to get back in the hunt.
@home none the less. i agree, this is the start of good things for the team(stl on tue)

Great game I enjoyed it . I never enjoyed many games this year except the last two. Damn shame RC can’t speak French
Yeah, its true. Too bad though RC who can’t speak french made the Habs win 2 in a row at the start of the year.
we need a team in qc that those frackers can cheer for!
At the moment, those frackers have nothing else to do but to cheer for the Habs win tonight since they don’t have a Nordiques team to cheer for, buuuhuuuu!!!!!!
right, good point! i bet they are confused if they should celebrate the win. knowing their type they are sleeping by now.
a good momentum win…anther strong game by eller..and ak46 please keep your play going and dont go into playing solid for a few games and disappearing for ten…plecks line brutal in their zone…
RC right now is très content for coaching the Habs in english and they respond by giving him 2 wins in a row.
I don’t know why everyone is down on the Habs.
They haven’t even lost one game yet this year.

Once again, just sayin…… remember when?
“Corson’s Big Suspension: The NHL suspended Corson for 10 games during the 1991-92 season for leaving Montreal’s bench to start a fight with 4:10 remaining in the third period of the Canadiens’ Nov. 2, 1991, game vs. Buffalo. Corson had come onto the ice as a sixth skater after referee Don Koharski had called a delayed penalty against the Sabres’ Colinn Patterson. Now go read the NHL’s excuse for not suspending Lucy this time, as opposed to all the other times.
Nice win and even better effort !
Honestly can’t remember the last time this team won a game like that. Essentially a one goal game in regulation. Lost a lot of them though.
Probably Boston back in October.

Against New Jersey about three weeks ago.
Not the most exciting match, the Bolts are a boring team to play against, but the Habs won. Who’s next?
Bring on Halak and the Blues!
Guys, how did the protest go? What a way to answer that back with a win. Love how the Habs are skating in the third instead of laying back.
We need a hockey fan protest to demand they ignore the bigoted kooks and start hiring the best person for the job no matter what the language.
You only get to throw four pucks when you get a fat-trick

AK46 played a great game again tonight!!
Yes! Great win.
Winning streak and undefeated in January!
And Eller has four goals in two games!
I sense another “8th seed” banner being raised.
I don’t really care about desharnais’ fen wick or corsi, he’s just a smart hockey player who makes stuff happen.
