These are dark times.
With RC’s tenure doomed to be a short one, he could still leave a legacy by focusing on the power play for the rest of the season and nothing else, laying the foundation for a half-decent one next season. A by-product might be the team actually starts winning games it should.
The start and the PP really did in this game (as usual). They ended up with a decent number of shots, and did generate some scoring chances, but anytime something good came along, the Habs whiffed, or Neuvirth made a nice save.
If those 2 early goals don’t go in, I think the Habs take this one easy. Coulda, shoulda, woulda.

One of the worse seasons in Habs history based on expectations going into the season. They were crap in training camp and continued right on through the next 46 games with more to come.

In the early 80s, Vancouver was the same as Montreal is now. Then, they traded with St. Louis for Ronning, Courtnall, and Momesso and went to the cup finals. Montreal needs to make a similar multi-player trade. Gut the team.

PK can’t get a break. Somebody found something to say about that move he made to protect the puck in the offensive zone and send a shot towards the net for a scoring chance.
That was not a ‘do it alone’ move, that was a ‘can do’ move. Players with skills should use them from time to time especially when their team needs it.
PK has 3 goals and 18 points in 46 games. He is not doing it at all this year. Martin screwed him up and he is not the same player. Hopefully when this nightmare season is over he will come back stronger next year.
