This is kinda old news. The Habs have typically played better with Gomez in the lineup this season. The Habs Eyes on the Prize did a whole feature on this many weeks ago when he sustained his first injury.
I all my years of watching Montreal-Toronto games, I can’t recall being so indifferent about the outcome.
That’s cause, tonight, a Habs win is nice, and a Habs loss is nice

Bourque has gone downhill since joining the Habs, but I still don’t miss Cammalleri.
Maybe the next GM will get better linemates for our top players.

The more you watch this group the more convinced I become that this is a big rebuild project and not a retiol some believe it is.
Have to remember were missing Moen, Gio and Markov, makes a big difference.

Yes, we would be treated to more Enqvist and Palushaj. Anyone seen any evidence those two have long NHL careers in front of them?
Would be nice if we won some faceoffs and had more players who actually established a presence in the Lol’s zone other than the DD line….. if Pleks had 2 good wingers we’d have 2 solid scoring lines.
Guys that have pretty much no idea what they’re doing out there:
Enqvist, Staubitz, Geoffrion. Enough to make two lines pretty much useless. Not their fault, but it’s hard to watch. Gionta, Darche, Gomez and Palushaj would be a definite upgrade.

The Habs have a weak tender to shoot @ & can’t pot more. Could have had 4 goals by now.
Seems to be the pattern all season. Win a game or two and they think they’re all that. Next couple of games they go back to playing non-contact perimeter hockey.

exactly, we only have 1 top 6 winger and his name is Gionta and he’s gone for the season….other than that we traded away cammi and AK who were our only top 6 players

I think it’d be best to see him play a handful of games. Team shouldn’t go into next year with him as a question mark again.
Why? He’ll soon be cleared for contact ( apparently ) and then soon be declared ready to play. There’s no question mark.
Shut him down, let him train and strengthen all summer and then come back for next season. There’s absolutely no need to expose him to some ahole this year.And although one can’t escape the aholes with another summer of conditioning under his belt he would be that much more ready.

Not entirely unexpected that the Habs aren’t buzzing around. Just as we’ve seen throughout the season, they often spend a lot of time in their own zone and then make passes from a standing position meaning no real rushes are created.
Oh well, it’s not like much is on the line. Even if they lose, it may just inspire the Leafs to hang on to 10-11th place.

Going to “scout” Gallagher here in Victoria tonight at the Royals / Giants game… Saw him in November and was very impressed… 2g2a I believe and was a smart, efficient, dominant player. Will report back. He loves the dirty areas, if you watch on YouTube, that’s where he scores the majority of his goals…
