We need to pile up some wins at home & tonight was a good start. Nice to see the team not giving up after the Isles tied it. Happy for Gill scoring his first but I still can’t get over Emelin being a healthy scratch.

Martin who was pegged as the defensive coach when he was in Ottawa, has not proven his defensive skills in Montreal. Instead we have seen our defense struggle if anything since Martin came. We’ve given up leads, we’ve watched as our defense and offense was decimated. Then we got Emelin. Like myself and many fans have been saying since before the lockout, the habs are too small and too tiny. Sure we have Souray but hey we also had Koivu. We watched as our forwards gave up the puck time after time. we watch now as Gomez and Gionta and Cammy cough up the puck time after time. But it took Emelin coming to Montreal to remind us that the rest of the NHL plays Emelin’s style. Montreal has become a haven for lazy wimpy ass style play for so long. Maybe it is time we sign more Emelins.
OK that was fun, now let’s get serious. Emelin has to go back in for the next game. Take your pick Campoli or Diaz comes out. Both were terrible tonight.

JM doesn’t sit vets, and Skilsy is still useful.
I thought Diaz was “terriblerer” than Campoli. Diaz was directly responsible for a goal by failing to make an easy clear of the zone. I would sit Subban as well. Think of Benoit Pouliot as a defenceman, and you have Subban right now.
And how good would we be if Subban had broken a leg on the attempt to injure earlier in the game.
It’s not like I am thinking just of his performance tonight. This has been going on for weeks. If he is not ready for the responsibility of 21+ minutes, then Martin should at least scale back his time.
Martin is making PK think too much and it is really effing him up.
Why do we not have a defense coach? I mean seriously… let’s ruin PK, there’s a great project for JM.
LA: your post makes little sense. Do you mean, you want PK not to think on the ice? I don’t know what Subban’s problem is, but blaming his “Pouliotitis” and turnovers on Martin is just, well, silly.
Campoli had his ups and downs but he wasn’t terrible.
It’s also his first game back. I would expect it to take a game or two to catch up. Something doesn’t seem right with Subban, I wouldn’t sit him but scaling back his minutes would be a good idea.
P.K was the worst D on the ice, and Gill a close second, goal and all.
I bet PK like the rest of us was shaking his head over sitting Emelin. There are plenty of games left and not having Emelin in the lineup eats up what little physical play there is in the game against the habs as opposed to for the habs. No wonder we didn’t make it far in the playoffs. Hello, Earth to Jacques Martin and Pierre Gauthier….Emelin is the typical NHL type player now….you need to sign more Emelins so you can defend what few talented players you can actually attract to Montreal. It’s not taxes players don’t want to come to Montreal over. Its because for a long time we have become a team of wimps. Signing only those unwanted small players who are cheap but not too cheap.

If Cammalleri is injured, as some have speculated, then he should be put on the injured list because he’s almost useless out there.
It is interesting to note that Cammy’s play has dropped off most spectacularly after the day the Montreal media played up the fact that Molson stood behind Gomez in spite of Gomez’s horrible record. Maybe that has the other highly paid lazy wimps on the team wondering why work hard for the money? Why work hard and waste your body when some other even more highly paid bum like Gomez can do nothing but still get Geoff Molson’s support? Any other questions about why Cammy is playing like he is hurt? Maybe the Montreal media hurt Cammy’s feelings for his friend Gomez….maybe it’s time to bundle the two as a package….and trade their smurf sized liabilities to some other team like Winnipeg.

That’s the way I always thought it was. I remember a few times getting really pissed off at Bob Cole because he would hear the fans singing Ole in the second period and be incredulous as to how they could be singing so early in the game.
