Just realized how long it’s been since anyone actually commented..
Ryan White has fallen off the map, it’s easy to forget him when listing the many injury woes the habs have faced so far this season.
I think I know the answer to this question but is there any idea on the time frame for his return? I haven’t heard any news on him in a while.

D – Nicklas Lidstrom (41 years old)

Speaking of which, want to feel really old? Saku Koivu is now the second oldest center in the NHL, behind only Jason Arnott. Pavel Datsyuk is the 14th oldest center, while Scott Gomez is the 20th oldest center.
Time flies. I don’t like it at all when guys who I remember see breaking into the league are now retiring as grizzled veterans.

Note to all you whining Occupiers…….if you supported any other team, you would still find fault b/c every team has weaknesses and makes mistakes. Wake up to the modern era of the NHL. Any team can win on any given night against anyone. There’s no magic formula to it. It makes a better league……although IMO too many teams. The key is to be good when it counts…..the season is a perpetual build to the playoffs. No different than a Cup Champion is a perpetual build over years. Decisions are made based on that premise. There no longer exists a dominant club or a dynasty….won’t happen even if Toe was alive and Bowman was in his prime behind the bench. Learn to live with it.

Gomez may or may not have played 20+ mins. These details are inconsequential. What matters is that he has sucked in nearly every minute he has played.
The problem is that 15 minutes of Gomez time FEELS like 30 minutes of normal time. Torture has a funny way of messing with our perceptions.
Sure the defense wasn’t the best, yet they fought back. Didn’t catch the third period. How did Cammy play in the third period? Eller must have no confidence. JM puts him on the wing, meaning no faceoffs for him. (Yes Gomer dominated with his 8 fow and 2 fol) Really though Lars busts his ass, gets a penalty. The result reduced minutes on the ice.

Andrew, Gomez can hold the puck in the O zone all day, nothing happens when he is there with it so it becomes meaningless. He can not score and it is hard to claim he is creating chances others can but have not finished on. Eller is the man to play, Gomez can gain the zone on a rush but that is about all he can do anymore. He is not even playing like he is worth 3.5 let alone the impossible mark of 7.
Don’t confuse Andrew with things like points, goals, plus-minus, real scoring chances, or the ability to make a play that matters.
He’s got a whole battery of micro-statistics that show that Gomez FREAKIN’ ROCKS!!! He woulda scored 3 or 4 if Eller and DD weren’t taking up his ice time. Word to your mutha baby!!

Give it up people, that’s a great game? The expectations on him have dropped so low, that if he doesn’t score an “own-goal” he should be 1st star.

You can however blame the Goat for signing a goalie who was statistically the 60th best in the league for each of his last two full seasons. A goalie who was deemed less desirable than Brian Elliott.
That’s 60th best in a 30 team league, where each team only has two goalies at a time.

Not sure why Eller was benched in the 3rd period and Gomez was out there doing pirouettes in the offensive zone..Sure, the guy can skate fast and all, but what does he actually create after gaining the blueline? Nothing..
Eller works hard every shift..He may make a mistake or two throughout the game, but he has been the better player,. by far..
JM’s coaching strategy of not letting the kids play in crucial situations will stunt their growth..Gomez has been given chance after chance only to fail..What does JM have to lose by giving Eller the chance of tying this one up? \

Come on! This team is badly coached and kind’a sucks. This season has eight and out written all over it at best.
Gomez is not going to score 20 goals anymore… maybe not even 10 goals. But I don’t see his play being negative for the team. He’s not producing points, but he’s not a liability either. That’s not exactly a description becoming of a player who makes big $, but that’s the deal right now.
We need to score, give players a cfhance to put points up and let Gomez sit ion the bench and watch if thats your theory

What to you mean? Gomez won some faceoffs that lead to NOTHING, he was a negative in the game. Eller was a centre and a positive , but for some reason Gomez kept taking the draws instead of Eller, Eller sets up a goal, and GOMEZ gets more icetime. Ya Gomez played one hell of a game, my ass what game did you watch
Gomez was dominating play all game. Eller was too. And for the record Eller was still -1. The fact that everyone is picking out Gomez as the guy who’s ice time should be reduced shows that they don’t give a crap what actually happened, everything is preconceived bias. Meanwhile DD had a horrifically bad game, but kept getting ice and no one says squat.
It’s bias, plain and simple, and it’s effin’ sad.

The only team he created scoring chances for was the Islanders. He had nothing to do with Gionta’s PP goal other than being in on the after goal celebration hug. I don’t know what game you were watching but he sucks ass. Horrible. His play is degenerating. He doesn’t provide offense. All his plays lead to nothing.
