Diaz has been awful since the openin’ game. He can’t even shoot the dang puck let alone play the body.
Followin’ from that, one would assume Emmy would see more ice time. Given he isn’t, however, bein’ afforded the opportunity, it is probably fair to assume this is really just about him and not Diaz.
Goes back to preseason. Em’s 25 years old, first year in the league, and shows up fat to trainin’ camp. Said it at the time, it says somethin’ about his mindset and he’s gonna ride the wood. It’s not just about a st00pid gaffe. And, yes, I’m obviously speculatin’.
I also expect his situation will markedly – yeah? – improve when Marky’s back on the ice.
Watching this on the Arizona feed is painful. It’s putting me to sleep.
There’s no point in firing JM during the season. That’s just a panic move that isn’t going to make the Habs any less injured, and it’s looking like the playoffs are unlikely even if their new coach were named Toe Bowman.
Let’s ride the season out. Maybe dump some salary at the deadline (let’s trade Gomez for Higgins and McDonagh!). Let JM get promoted upstairs and find a new coach when there is a chance to conduct a patient, careful search.

3 weeks ago I said that Diaz looked like a minor midget out on the ice. 3 weeks ago I got hammered by the Hab faithful, who were unwilling to follow my lead. Now do you believe me? This is a man’s game played by big strong men. Diaz does not fit into that categorie. Diaz, Cammy, Gio, DD, Gomez, Pleks, Webber, too small as a collective group. These guys make up 25% of the roster. Habs will never win anything with the core of the team being this small. This is not a new revelation!! Does management not see this? How could they not?

Problem with that is JM and PG are friends, PG firing JM is admitting to a mistake so he won’t do it. It’s the same thing with Gomez, they won’t do anything with him because it is admission of fault.

“He doesn’t like toughness. Guys would get beat up and he’d have his hands in his pockets, showing no emotion to the other coach. When a coach shows emotion behind the bench, guys love that. You want to play for him, win for him.”
If Georges had ever done anything at all about guys on his team getting beaten up, I’d have more respect for his opinion about JM’s response to it.
He didn’t police or enforce anything. Why play him? What was he expecting, power-play time?
