The drought is over.
On a power play 9:50 into the third period, Scott Gomez scored his first goal in 369 days.
And for the first time since late October, your Montreal Canadiens have won three games in a row.
MORNING SKATE AUDIO: Raphael Diaz | Travis Moen | Max Pacioretty | Frans Nielsen | Mark Streit
There might be something to this lucky tuque …
But it wasn’t easy.
Two late Islanders’ goals turned the game into a nailbiter.
Hat trick for Max Pacioretty.

Yes, I feel honored to say i was there for Gomez’s Goal, However, it was a good win but the habs constantly turned the puck over and if not for price, this would have been another loss.
“It’s not an obsession, It’s a way of life..”
Price was unreal. What a game for him.
As far as Tim Thomas is concerned, if you can’t take it, don’t dish it out.

Now that Mr Gomez has broken his goal scoring slump (after 53 games) – The next forward with the longest slump is George Parros who last scored on Feb 05 2011 & a scoreless streak of 56 gp although the paychecks are a bit different. Lets Go George……
Stamkos, Kessel, Malkin. Only players with more even strength goals than Max P.
Didn’t know that.

Max only has 1 PP goal, no one in the top-30 has less than 4 PP goals. Kid’s turning into a goal scoring stud.
That is pretty impressive. Looking at last year’s stats, Pacs had quite a few PP goals. So if only the PP could get back on track…
Good point. Last year 7 out of 14 goals were on the PP.
So Gomez has as many PP goals as Pacioretty?
25 before 14
WOW, nice stat!
Habs need to trade Gomez right now his value has never been higher!!!!!!
Scott will be entertaining us for two more years my friend.
I doubt it.
And China wants democracy for Syria.
NEWS FLASH!!
To all the 2011 Summiteers.
I received this thank you note to-day from the Canadiens Children’s Foundation.
By next season’s 2012 Summit, HIO Fans will have donated over $10,000.00 to Children’s Charity. We sure are a fantastic community of hockey fans. Great work everyone!
Dear Mr. Cobb,
On behalf of the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation I would like to thank you and your wonderful HIO Fan Group for your generous donation.
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

Time for a pre-playoff summit Ian!
Ya! And I get to present Scott with his Rocket Richard scoring trophy!
We may disagree on certain matters, but in the end, we rock! Cheers everyone!

Two thumbs up!
Ian, that thank you letter looks like it took about 15 seconds to write. You would think that Peanut Houle could have put his Molson down for a couple of minutes and wrote a personal thank you for all of your hard work.
He dropped by our dinner and thanked us in person… good enough for ya?
The official thank you is being framed as we type my friend. Maybe you could be so kind as to present it to one of the kids that we are doing all this for.
Good to hear. The “sorry for not getting back to you sooner” part made it sound like this was the first contact with you since the Summit and the first thank you you have recieved. Peanut can continue drinking his Molson then.
Well done!
Bravo to all who attended and to Ian and his little helpers for putting this together each year. Looking forward to the next one!

Undefeated when Gomez scores… and people wanna get rid of him?!
Noticed TSN showed all goal replays but the high stick goal.
ME TOO! I kept tyring to show my son that the goal was CLEARLY high sticked, and it never came up. They don’t wanna show it, cuz they know it should’ve been disallowed. And why did it only take 2 seconds to review? I KNEW they were going to call it a good goal….they are the Habs after all.
“To disbelieve is easy; to scoff is simple; to have faith is harder”
~ Louis L’Amour
I’ve got the faith!
No surprise. They didn’t even seriously review the goal in TO, practically just handed it to the Islanders.
Think they should relocate the goal review video room to somewhere neutral, like Las Vegas.

From Islanders Blog:
“Montreal 4 (EN), Islanders 2: Price Shuts Door, Even Scott Gomez Scores” LOL
Great nite of hockey L, can we keep this going? Can’t find my magic 8 ball, borrowed to some guy named Scott!
Yes Burly, I’m one of the “crazy Idiots” who voted yes on the poll to the right of you, haha. And let Scott keep the ball!!!!
Will do, yes for me too!
Islanders have a blog? Whodathunkit?
I hope this recent success doesnt stop us from dealing the UFAs and others (Kabarle) if possible. It should increase their value.
Are you kidding. Gomez is going to score the Stanley Cup winning goal off of a pass from Kaberle.
Rather see Leblanc from Subban and Emelin
Halak allowed three goals on twelve shots, was pulled, Elliot shut the door the rest of the way and the Blues came back to win in SO.
Somebody had to say it.
Full Breezer 4 Life
Wait, you cant say that… Halak is the savior!!!

Don’t let the wultures getcha.
You have to admit that how this season has gone Halak has a much better chance of ending it with a ring on his finger than Carey does. But Price is the guy for the long haul.
The Price Kool-Aid still works! We’re number 14!
to become cup contenders this team needs to upgrade players like moen and ak46..they have good points but we need better and more consistent players than they are..
So to become a Cup contender, Montreal must upgrade on a player who has won a Cup? Hmmm…
Gomez trending seriously on Twitter.
How is the Tank trending?
Getting derailed. It’s taken on a serious new opponent in the Vatican.
You may need to watch what u say with “them” officially on board.

Slower.
Yowsers! I couldn’t watch it there at the end. I thought the stick was definitely too high on the first goal, then Streit scores and I thought oh noes, this doesn’t look good! Good for Patch, getting the trick! Gomez was pretty cool about his first goal in a year. Acted like it was something he’d done before. I hope this opens the flood gates and I hope it spoils ” the tankers” night. Go Habs!
That’s 3 in a row, bring on T O. Pricey was outstanding tonight, he deserved to be leaving the rink with a 30+ save shutout but the win is more important to him. He stood on his head the first 2 periods or the Habs may not of even been in the game. Great game by MaxP, only needs 8 more in 27 games to reach 30. The Gomez clocks can stop, he finally got one on a nice shot.
“They don’t hang Conference Championship Banners from the rafters here”
Carey Price
A few Montreal bars have to pay off in shooters thanks to Gomez finally scoring a goal…….
World Peace is possible!
That first goal for the Isles was total BS. Referees did not even want to go upstairs and that call was so quick I wonder if they actually dropped the dime or not. Totally robbed Price of a shutout on a bogus call.

YEAH.. Gomez scored… Trade him while he’s hot:):):)
Anybody else notice that the Leafs have one of the worst PKs in the league, and, all of a sudden, they are going “games in a row”, NO penalties. Hmmmmmmmmm!!!
Sal from the Hammer
The most hilarious is the media is measuring the Leafs’ PK success in time, i.e., it’s been x amount of games since they’ve let in a PP goal. I bet that time corresponds almost exactly to the game where they’ve only had 1 or 2 kills per game. Of course, they’re doing better than before, but it’s laughable that the media paints such a rosy picture of it.
I’m not the type of person to say: “I told you so..” but..
“Scott Gomez will score a goal against the Islanders tonight.
Remember where you read it first.”
I’m pretty confident you had posted that like 5 games in a row. But I’ll give it to ya. Celebrate yo self.
Golly, why that’s an astounding bit of prescience and…HEY, wadaminit…you’re been saying that for the past 83 games.
***Subbang Baby!!!***
Sorry but you’ve been saying it for the last couple of games. No offence.

I didn’t switch it off in time to miss Mario’s sarcastic clapping.
What a d!ck.

Poor Max. A hat trick, and he’s not even the story of the game.
Price gets his 20th win of the season. Would be nice to see him get 30.
Gomez scores..Max gets a hatty..now if those stupid sens would lose my night will be complete
Gomez. The winning goal!
Well deserved!
see my blog at http://noroomatthedump.blogspot.com/
If Markov comes back, Gionta does too, Blunden gets health and we win next 25 games in a row, we could be a serious threat as the 8th seed. The Rangers and/or Bruins or Penguins or the Soviet Red Army or whatever is hovering in 1st should (nay must!) be worried.
Nice win, but Gionta’s season is over man.
Still cheesed about that 1st Isles goal.
Full Breezer 4 Life
Me too, Bill. We never catch a break and Price deserved that SO more than any other game this season!
Big time.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
Same here. I’ll bet the arena official got a busy signal in Toronto and couldn’t be bothered to call back.
Whew…
But that was a high stick and should not have been allowed. Check your PVRs and you’ll agree.
Could care less about the late goals. The important things are first, the W… second, Gomez dumps the monkey…third, the Loafs lose.
***Subbang Baby!!!***
I am trying to rewind tape but now it’s a mess tape everywhere!
Oh no you didn’t wreck your game tape? With the Gomez goal on it, it would have been a significant piece of history.
Forgot about Pacs hat trick lost amidst everything!
Chapeau à MaxPac.
Richard R
Canadiens need to trade Gomez now while his value is high
So Max got the hat trick!
A Gomez goal, on a power play, and the Canadiens don’t blow a lead in the third – amazing!!!
Yeah, but they came pretty close to blowin’ it.
Richard R
GWG!
Gomez winning goal.
Gomez with the winner!

Awesome officiating! Cole is a hypnotist.
Pacioretty hatty!

close..but no cigar, Islanders…
Is he allowed to stand in the crease?
The goalie?
That’s where he should be.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
And Gomez blows coverage
Come on he scored a goal. He’s done.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
Empty netter for Pacs?
What?! how does that goal get allowed? I call BS…. they sure came to a quick decision on that despite definitely looking to be above the crossbar.
I agree it seemed high, shouldn’t of count.
Islanders’ goal song louder than the actual crowd.

Great job clearing the front of the net.
Oh my…

I’ll say it again: Better use Pacioretty in the shootout!

if its the crossbar. That’s a bs call. Cause there was no way that was even or under the bar. If its his shoulders, then it’s fair. I don’t know the rule.
There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…
crossbar.

??? Should’ve been no goal.

This is the moment we’ve been waiting for. Gomez stock has never been higher. Trade him now.
