Liveblog: Tough loss

Your Montreal Canadiens blew a 3-1 lead and lost 4-3.
Marc-André Bergeron and Vincent Lecavalier scored third-period goals, and the Canadiens were beaten for the 14th time in a game they led.
Mathieu Garon was spectacular.
Carey Price wasn’t.

The loss dropped the Canadiuens into 12th place in the Eastern Conference … and Carolina is getting close.

MORNING SKATE AUDIO: Randy Cunneyworth | Hal Gill | Josh Gorges | Raphael Diaz | Martin St. Louis | Mathieu Garon | Tom Pyatt

  1. SlovakHab says:

    wow, Cole

  2. durocher says:

Beautiful play — Eller drove hard, Max Power picked up the loose change, fed a driving Cole.

  3. JIMVINNY says:

    Beauty. Again.

  4. HabinBurlington says:

    Great play Mpac and Cole

  5. Propwash says:

    Being negative has its advantages,
    you’re never disappointed.

  6. jmsheehy19 says:

Just got in. See there up by one. How are they looking? Also what was the save that everyone seems to be going crazy for?

  7. Les Canayens says:

Watching the game on a US stream, they just showed the mic’d sound from MAB, where he screams in English to all his teammates except Garon to whom he screams “gardes-la! gardes-la!” to freeze the puck.

☞ I can’t really hear what Jeremy says, because I’ve got my two Stanley Cup rings plugging my ears.☜

  8. HabinBurlington says:

nice 1 timer by Cammy, he is feeling it

  9. Cape Breton says:

Red Fisher may have lit a fire under Cammalleri in his column last weekend.

  10. HabinBurlington says:

Price playing like Price, love it.

  11. HabinBurlington says:

    looks like DD’s goal

  12. Wow.. didn’t see that coming. 6 points in last 4 games for Diaz.

  13. JIMVINNY says:

That f***ing ref, wagging his finger at PK, looks like a mother scolding a child. What about Malone, who’s plastering himself all over Price, and shoving his hand in PK’s face?

  14. VancouverHab says:

It happened AGAIN — Deharnais makes a wonderful offensive play resulting in a goal — then makes a Really Useless defensive play that (in this case) results in a free shot on goal by …. Lecavalier.

But, it must be said that defense can be taught, so thumbs up for now for the wee man.

  15. durocher says:

What a save by Pricey. Finally he’s getting some goal support and isn’t facing a shooting barrage.

  16. HabinBurlington says:

    Full props to DD!

  17. idle says:

Are people still afraid to call DD a developing star?

  18. Propwash says:

    Being negative has its advantages,
    you’re never disappointed.

  19. JIMVINNY says:

great shot by DD. Garon had no chance.

  20. durocher says:

    DD makes everything better.

    Somewhere, Carbo is smiling.

  21. twocents says:

    Me link went down!

    Can anyone bail me out?

  22. Danno says:

    He sold that one

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  23. VancouverHab says:

Dear Mr. Boone: great to have you down here commenting among us rabble! Enjoyable.

  24. If Habs lose today, they will fall to 13th place in the conference.

  25. twilighthours says:

Looks like beaulieu is playing wing today.

  26. idle says:

I don’t understand how the power play has still sucked so bad statistically. Maybe it just seemed like it but I thought they went games and games without scoring them earlier in the season. But they have been good for usually 1 a game recently (6 or 7 games now?). Yet I read that they are statistically worse now?

  27. thorandresson says:

anyone know where the game is being streamed? the streams on habsblogspot got closed and the english ones are showing pittsburgh/philly

  28. HabinBurlington says:

    2-0 Canada with a shortie

  29. Danno says:

Stay out of the box and maybe we can beat these guys.

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  30. slapshot777 says:

Refs make a call like that on PK yet choose to ignore the hold by Clark on Cole.

  31. Mavid says:

ug PK needs to control his emotions

second place is just the first loser

  32. loulou says:

Cunnyworth knows subban needs to be more disciiplined. JM played him way to much. Maybe he will be healthy scratch again soon

  33. idle says:

“I’m trying to calculate how many horses would be needed to drag me into a Tom Cruise movie. Over/under: Four”

Hey Boone, if your talking about Impossible Mission… it’s flat out terrible.

  34. durocher says:

Good period, all 4 lines skating well. PK needs a talkin to

  35. HabinBurlington says:

1-0 Team Canada, and the rout begins

  36. t1tan5 says:

    Big time dive by Malone.

  37. Hey PK, that move will get ya benched…..on any other team!

  38. JIMVINNY says:

of course he gets called. What about Malone flopping like a biatch?

  39. durocher says:

Come on, PK. We have momentum, puck in the O zone, and you can’t exercise discipline.

  40. ifitwasnt4kovalev says:

    subban WTF?????????

  41. Propwash says:

    Dumb penalty there PK

    Being negative has its advantages,
    you’re never disappointed.

  42. HabinBurlington says:

Bournival missing game tonight with the Flu

  43. habs-fan-84 says:

    “Cole is coming to life”

I’m pretty sure he’s been the life of this team for the past 3 months.

  44. JIMVINNY says:

how is that hold that pulled Cole down not called?

  45. patience is a virtue says:

anyone have a live streaming link they can share?

  46. What will we go when Gomez is back?

I prefer Desharnais, Eller and Plekanec over him. Heck, we all do. Gomez on the 4th line??

    • VancouverHab says:

I “prefer” Gomez to DD and Eller.

Most here have drunk the mob-rule Kool-Aid, but either here or elsewhere Gomez has every possibility of returning to elite NHL player status.

It is by no means sure, but it is also by no means ridiculous to note that Gomez could (depending on the next five years of his career) be in the HoF….

  47. twilighthours says:

Most habs’ pressure in a month.

  48. tote-road says:

Did we just witness Blunden’s best shift in the NHL to date?

  49. durocher says:

Great 4th line shift, esp for Blunden

  50. like a boss says:

    great shift right there

  51. HabinBurlington says:

Great shift by 4th line, too bad none of them have a good shot

  52. I have one thing to say. Downie is a puke.

  53. tote-road says:

Just wondering – anyone thing Gomez will return and score an NHL goal this year? Any optimists think he will score more than Gill?

  54. twilighthours says:

It’s funny, there are all kinds of “stats” out there to indicate that DD isn’t as good as his ice time indicates. It is also funny that no matter who you put him with, he produces.

    • ifitwasnt4kovalev says:

i dont watch other teams the way i watch the habs but desharnais has got to be one of the most underrated players in the league as we speak…….one thing for sure, of all the underrated players, he’s the smallest lollll

  55. ifitwasnt4kovalev says:

please GET OFF the CAMMALLERI BANDWAGON…….haters……when he scores you love him, when he doesnt, you hate him, what about the rest of the team, the coach?, the GM?…..

    reminds of me kovy.

  56. like a boss says:

Ladies and gentlemen, may i introduce the real mike cammalleri

  57. Just A Guy says:

Now that’s a goal I want to see from Cammy. Right on.

  58. Mavid says:

    DD to Cammi!!!!!!!!!!

second place is just the first loser

  59. Habfan10912 says:

    Atta Boy Cammy

  60. YES! Keep doing that Cammy and all will be forgiven

  61. habsfan0 says:

    Cammy very streaky scorer.

  62. durocher says:

    Cammy is back!

  63. Propwash says:

    Being negative has its advantages,
    you’re never disappointed.

  64. Mavid says:

i have TSN montreal its working fine

second place is just the first loser

  65. VancouverHab says:

That goal was due to WEAK play along the boards — was that Darche?

  66. durocher says:

LL draws one — he should stay with the big club

  67. Habfan10912 says:

Way too many nights its painful to watch how difficult it is to move the Puck out of our own end. Our defence is weak and forwards are late creating open ice.
